No warning on duplicated names in library

Recently when i copy paste items from one document to another and they have the same names in library i got a warning message. It seems i turned off this warning somewhere but i can't find where. Any suggestions to get this warning back?

Hello,
There is no more warning section in the preference...
There is well a "reset warnings" button, but it is grey (inaccessible)
Where are the good old CS preferences, by the way !
For the point you noticed :
It already happens to me, when the symbol I am replacing is exactly the same. When working on different version of the same file, for instance. Then there is no warning.

  • Why are so many songs duplicated in my library?

    Just recently lost hard drive to failure.  Replaced drive and reloaded ITunes.  Now I have many many songs that are duplicated in my library.......almost all of them!  Does this mean that I have duplicates in my ITunes music folder, or that I have more than one ITunes music folder?

    Well there is a question that you can answer with a little digging around. Exactly what you've got now depends a bit on which steps you took along the way. Also your media folder would normally be <User's Music>\iTunes\iTunes Media so the reference to iTunes Music suggests you may have a library that started life back with iTunes 8 or earlier.
    Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
    Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
    Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning
    to backup your library before deduping.
    (If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
    The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and copes sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

    When I bought my Mac Air OSX Version 10.9.2 my daughter helped me migrate the contents of my previous macbook.  But in the process seems to have duplicated the iTunes library - How do I get rid of one.  The start up disk is almost full and plus it doesn't synch properly with my iPhone 4S.  Please help!

    Hello nicky:
    You should run repair disk from your software install DVD before you try anything else. The crash may have damaged some of your directories - and a possible cause of the "missing/not missing" tunes.

    Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy paste the following:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    Click Go then move the Conduit/Library/InputManagers/CTloader file to the Trash.
    The same for /Library/Receipts and /Library/Application Support
    Check these folders as well.
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader

  • Artists names duplicated in iTunes Library

    I'm still using iTunes 6.5 on my system. I haven't upgraded yet and I don't know if I'll do. However, I have a question. Why do I have multiple listings for the same artist if only the album (CD) or source changes. For example, I may have three (3) listing for The Eagles for each album (CD). Shouldn't I have only one (1) listing for the Eagles, with all of the albums (CD) listed. IT's crazy, because when I want to select an artist, I have multiple listings instead of one.

    You may have the artist name typed in multiple ways. For example, extra spaces may not show up or not be noticed, but iTunes will take each different name literally as a different artist. The solution, usually, is to select ALL the songs by the same artist at the same time. Now do a Get Info which you will be a get info for all of them at once. If the artist field is blank, then that confirms that you have alternate spellings (only fields that are the same for ALL the selected files will be shown with their filled in values). At this point, simply type in the artist name once in that field and hitting OK will apply that single spelling to ALL the selected files. You should now have everything under a single artist.

  • Change name on Library folder

    A Macbook had their "names" in accounts changed and lot of trouble started. Apple take note: There should be and warning about this. Its very likly that some want to change these settings. The only warning is a password which is also asked for unimportant operations aswell.
    So this problem is solved. But one persist.
    I cant rename the Libraryfolder back to local language (Norwegian) . If I do, a Library folder with default stuff, is made. When I do cmd-I on the Libraryfolder at the level of harddisk, it has both the english name and the norwegian name. How can I rename the libraryfolder to get the proper local name?

    Hi There
    I suggest creating a new admin user and deleting the current one as changing the name can cause erratic behaviour, just make sure to move any important files over to the new admin user before deleting the current one.
    I also suggest creating a standard account to be used for everyday computing eg. checking email, web browsing etc. and just using the Admin account to install software and updates. This also adds an extra layer of security to your machine.
    Hope this helps

  • Display warning if 2 names are identical

    Can someone please help me with this. My array program is below. I need to edit it to make a message display 'This password has been chosen' if to names are identical. I have played around with it and I can get the warning to appear but all the time. The code below makes the warning cycle continuously down the page. If anyone could help I would be very gratefull.
    import java.io.*;
    public class Arraylist
    public static void main(String[] args)
    String members[] = {"Fred","Brenda","John"};
    System.out.println("full member: "+members[0]);
    while (members==members)
    System.out.println("this password has been chosen");

    I'm going to assume for a moment that this is a serious question and not a troll.
    It should be obvious that (members==members) is going to return true always.
    At what point are you checking to see if there is a duplicate? Is it only in the original array, or are you adding items later?
    In either case, some classes that should help you are:
    HashSet (or anything implementing the Set interface)
    HashMap (or anything implementing the Map interface)
    both are found in java.util.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to use path names for library filter?

    Hi all,
    I have been looking for a way to use the library filter functionality to show only images in a particular folder (or subfolder thereof). From the help pages [http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Lightroom/3.0/Using/WSAB7B303E-081D-4617-BF47-B4B8D3D49CC3.htm l] I found that the image path is included when you filter using 'any searchable field'.
    However, I do not seem to be able to use a full path name, just the individual directory names. To give an example, I can locate files in c:\data\photos using 'contains all: c data photos', but this will also select images in 'c:\data\someotherproject\photos'. I have tried all combinations of slashes and backslashes, but have found no solution to this problem. Does anyone know what the internal representation for the path name is, and if it's possible to search for it?
    Just to pre-empt the obvious answer: I know that you can simply click on a folder to show its contents. However, using the filter bar would be a more permanent selection of a working directory, which remains when you click on a collection, for example.
    Thanks.
    Simon

    Sorry, I could have been clearer.
    What I'm trying to achieve is the following. My computer contains photos by myself, my wife and others, organised in three main folders. Having them in separate catalogs isn't convenient, because we often have photos of the same event (outings, holidays). However, most of the time I only want to work on my photos, and my wife wants to work on hers. A directory filter would be a good and fool-proof way of doing things. I am currently using a special keyword to do this, but I must remember to apply the correct keyword when importing.
    Adding a folder as a favorite only works to select that folder in its entirety. What I would like to do is to have a 'master' folder selected and then use Lightroom as I normally would (select folders, collections, etc) Filtering by path name would enable me to do just that - and it does, except that there are false positives due to not being able to enter a full path name.
    A smart collection has the same problem: the 'Folder' rule doesn't seem to support paths. And even if it did, it's not possible to select two collections with a logical 'and' operator, unless you make a new smart collection for each possibility.
    My current keyword workaround is functional, but slightly error-prone. And in any case, if 'any searchable field' includes the file path, it stands to reason that there should be a way to match that with the entire path. The documentation isn't clear about this, so I hope that anyone can shed some light on this.

  • How to import MP3 with file name into library, rather than tag?

    I've been given a CD with about 200 MP3s of lectures. They are to be listened to in order, and the file names reflect the order number, like "lecture 1", "lecture 2", etc. However, when I drag them all into iTunes, the names in the iTunes library don't include the file names - they are simply "lecture", which I guess must come from a tag in the MP3 file. So iTunes is ignoring the file name and thus I end up with 200 entries in my iTunes library that can't be ordered properly. How can I get it to use the file name when importing?
    Mike

    If you have your iTunes preferences set to keep your iTunes Music folder organized, it's possible that even the file names have changed according to the files' tags. In that case, you'll need to (at least temporarily) disable this option and import the files from your CD again.
    Once you're sure the files have been successfully added to your iTunes library and the file names kept intact, you can use the Filenames to Song Names script from Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes.
    This should get everything sorted out.

  • Photos duplicated in Photo Library

    Ater syncing to a second computer, all photos were duplicated within the Photo Library directory - all 3,125 of them - whilst also remaining within their original directories.
    No matter which directories I add/remove when syncing, these same 3125 photos remain in the Photo Library directory, nothing added or subtracted in subsequent syncs.
    Any ideas how to delete these duplicates? No option available within iTunes, near as I can tell...

    If you want to just remove them form youriPhone or iPad then click on your device at top right and select the photos tab. You can then choose which photos sync out to your device in terms of Albums, Events or faces.
    If you want to control which pictures share to your Apple TV then in itunes File, Home Sharing, Choose files to share with Apple Tv
    If you remove them completly from everywhere then delete within the source app. Most commonly iPhoto or Aperture on a mac.

  • Why does Flash generate invalid class names for library items?

    I imported a bunch of bitmaps (PNGs).  The library symbol names all included the full file name and its extension.  When I check "export for actionscript" it generates a class name based on the symbol name, and it includes the ".png", even though that's invalid in a class name.
    When I select multiple bitmaps and choose properties and export for actionscript, it has a note saying that classnames will be automatically generated for all items, but it does the same thing... including the ".png" in all the class names.  Is this a problem?  Wouldn't it save time if Flash would automatically strip the file extension from the instance name of bitmap library symbols when generating class names?

    Thank you Nipun.  That is exactly the behavior I would expect, and I can confirm that in the trial of Flash CC it generates valid class names by removing the file extension.  For example, a file named "3ball.test.png" will receive an auto-generated class name of "_3ball_test", so it really does ensure the class name is valid (meeting AS3 class name syntax)
    kglad, what I'm saying is that an image file name like "ball.png" is not a valid "class name", because it contains a period, which is reserved as a package delimiter.  I know the runtime can handle it as a valid "fully-qualified class name", but it's misleading because it's actually creating a class named "png" in package "ball", BUT it's understood that the auto-generated name is not supposed to be specifying any package, hence the misleading specification.  The class would have to be instantiated like this: "import ball.png; var bd:BitmapData = new png();" or "import ball.*; var bd:BitmapData = new png();"  You would also then have to import every single class individually and always use their fully qualified names, because you'd technically have a bunch of classes all named "png" inside a hundred different packages.  It's just not acceptable.
    The other problem that occurred in CS6 is if you loaded a bunch of files whose names started with numbers, then when you select them all, choose properties, and use the batch properties window to export them for actionscript, I noticed that such images would be auto-assigned generic names like "Class4" as it would realize the default auto-generated class name would be invalid.  This problem has been fixed beautifully in Flash CC.
    Nipun, it would actually be very helpful to have a little more control over the class naming conventions.  For example, if I wanted all my BitmapData classes to exist in an "images" folder or package, it would be helpful if in the batch properties window I could specify a package name for all the auto-generated class names.  When importing hundreds of images, it's very tedius to have to edit them individually and I don't always have time to write a JSFL script.  There's room in that window to add a text field for a package name.  Thanks!

  • Duplicated Photos in Library

    Somehow each of my pictures in the library have been duplicated.  How do I easily delete all duplicates?

    If you have imported one iPhoto library into this one do you still have backups of both libraries (or if this one was a new library a copy of the old library - if you do it is simple - quit iPhoto and drag the new library to the desktop and then drag the old library to the pictures folder and launch iPhoto)
