No Wave Recording in Win 7 32 bit (Titanium)

,No Wave Recording in Win 7 32 bit (Titanium)p Noticed this in Vista too long ago. But presently:
Titanium PCI-E. Latest downloads in Win 7 32-bit.
WhatUHear and Wave were 2 distinct recording choices in XP. Now there is only WhatUHear.
Unfortunately it records all enhancements (EQ, Crystalizer, 3D), which then are doubled on playback.
What happened to plain old Wave, which recorded what was playing on your PC without recording the enhancements you use for the sound to the speakers or headphones?
Will this be returned shortly?
I don't want to have to dual-boot to XP to record things.
I run in Entertainment mode but tried the Audio Creation mode to see if Wave was there. Though there is a Wave section, Wave isn't there.
Microsoft says it's the Creative drivers.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • What effect does recording at 24 bit..44.1 have when bouncing to 16-bit CD

    Hi,
Before I really start recording on Logic, I'd like to know if someone could clear this up for me.
I know CD quality is 16 bit 44.1. So if I know I am going to distribute my recordings onto CD in the end, why should I record at 24-bit?
and if i do record at a higher resolution than CD quality, and I mix the recording as hot as I can w/o distortion, what will happen to my quality when I mix to cd??

Re: Sample rates - 48k. Wow, that goes against everything I've read in years about the greater potential for aliasing artefacts in "non-multiple" SR conversion. Esp. software.
It depends on the software you are using for the
conversion. Many of the DAW's do a less than
steller job at this, Logic being one of the worst
at the moment. ( I have a feeling that the new
version of Logic will address this problem). As
it turns out Adobe and Bias make software
that does an excellent job at sample rate conversion
with no alaising artifacts. Adobe's software
is not available for the Mac and Bias's Peak Pro
    is on the expensive side.

  • Record External Source (bit/hz config?) Nothing But Static

:Record External Source (bit/hz config?) Nothing But StaticY Okay - I'm ready to be mutilated for posting this, but I've searched for HOURS so feel free to talk to me like I'm a total noob/fi've year old (but a smart fi've year old).
I just purchased the PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio card am I am trying to record the audio from?an external source (my?DirecTV receiver.)? I have the optical cable directly connected from the receiver to the S/PDIF-IN and all other cables (HDMI) disconnected.
    A few questions:
-Do the settings (control panel>sound>recording) for bit/hz have to match those of the Creative MediaSource?
-Can you record directly from a DirecTV HD-DVR?
I've tried a lot of different settings and all I get is NOTHING but white noise/static and?the pitch/rate varies depending on the settings I am using. I'm lost.

I am using console launcher and there you have to set your recording source.......do you see where I have hovered over the recording source where it gives me three choices? Here you can pick yours. If you have the wrong source you will get static. In your sound, recording properties, there you can set your default bitrate.
If you have the wrong recording source, it will sound like white noise, or intermittant jibberish. I have never done a session of which you speak, but I am guessing when you have plugged in your digital satelite, you can try the "What U Hear"? feature to record sound to make sure your sound is being picked up on the PC. Then change your source to pull directly from the digital in.

  • Garageband seeing 16 bit wav files as 8 bit.

I am using Garage band 11.  I have a session with speech and music.  I came back to edit it and it would not open saying the audio was 8 bit. It was not it was wav and 44.1/16 bit.  I opened the package contents and checked the wav files and they played fine.  So how and why did Garageband suddenly see then as 8 bit?
    I lost my whole session.

i don't know the "why," but all is not lost yet.
create a new project and drop the audio file into the timeline of the new project. if it really is a 44.1k 16-bit aiff file, then it should import into the new project.

  • In AIR 2.0, convert WAV recorded with Microphone class to MP3

I can record audio files with the new Microphone class in Adobe AIR 2.0, but I'm wondering how to convert the WAV files to MP3 or some other compressed format in Flex.  Thanks!

There is a specific AIR 2 forum:

  • Can GarageBand record at 24 bit 48 K?

Or at least at 16 bit 48K?
I need a distant 'subject' to record an on-going Voice-Over for a film in production. He has a good room, a good mic and GarageBand. I'd like to get the recording as high a quality as possible ... to be able to dump it immediately into FCP. On this first pass he's recorded at the standard 44K ... which I've had to bump to 48K in Logic before bringing into FCP.
Any help would be much appreciated,
    Ben

  • MuVo N200: recording fidelity and bit-rate for podcasts

    Hi,
My plan is to use my MuVo N200 for recording podcasts--I'm wondering what the fidelity and bit rate is for the line-in recording capability.
Is it 64k bps? Something else?
Any one else using the line in?
    Thanks,

  • Bouncing and recording at 32 bit.

    Hi,
i would like to know how can i export or bounce a Software Track to a 32 bit Audio file and how can i record an audio file in 32 bit?
Cause i only see 24 bit possibility.
    Thank You
    Best regards,

    Correct.
Nothing is known about future versions - however, the Apple CAF file format supports 32-bit audio formats, so it's conceivable that future versions of Logic could support 32-bit audio.

I wasn't able to make my headset's microphone work. Followed every step on the support and help page to no avail. The hardware is a LeaderShip 3963 that I just bought yesterday. When I try to hear myself using the windows options such as recording, it works just fine, but while on skype it's as if it didn't exist. Yes, i've tried everything, including adjusting microfone configurations and yes, i'm using the right one. What now?

  • Soundbooth fails to open 16-bit 44.1k wav / aif export from Propellerhead's Record

No matter what I do I cannot get Soundbooth (or other package in CS4 & CS5) to recognise any wav / aif files exported from Propellerhead's Record 1.5. I noticed that the files do tempo information so may be it is possible that Adobe software refuses to recognise wave files with additional chunks (which it should because they can easily be skipped and has been a practice for over a decade).
Are Adobe planning to fix this as it causes unnecessary headache for something that is as easy as pie to support and really shouldn't be causing issues!
I am aware that "Adobe currently do not support non standard Wave files", but why not? It requires no extra effort other than skipping junk chunks, which just about any decent code for reading wave files should be able to do anyway.
I can send a wave file exported from Record to examine it if necessary, but this really shouldn't be so "complicated" at all.
For the record, the wave file is 16-bit, 44.1k, stereo, PCM.
    Cheers.

P.s. my current workaround is to convert it to a standard Wav file using iTunes And this is an issue for all Record users (can't test on Windows).

  • Zen Neeon direct record in WAV form

    Hi everyone,
I'm looking at buying the Zen Neeon 2. I want to use the Direct Recording to record straight from, say a CD player into the Neeon. But I want to record in WAV format at 6 bit, 44.k (full CD quality). I've read through the manual and it's not clear.
Does anyone out there know that it will defintely reord direct in full quality WAV format?
    Thanks, I'd appreciate any help.
    Stewart Peters

    ... thanks.
I'll use it for rough mixes in my studio. I'm getting used to the idea of mixing it then naming it and tarnsfering it in wav format via usb.
    Thanks again

  • Logic X won't import a 64 bit .wav file. Why?

I'm trying to import .wav files created with FF Tools into Logic for some editing, but it says the audio file is "in a 64 bit format and cannot be used". Why is this? I thought Logic X was 64-bit friendly?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

There is also no point in using 64 bit audio files. Even 32 bit floating point is already overkill. The best choice for recording is 24 bit, for internal processing 64 bit floating point does make sense, but not for storing.
In any case, your mac comes with a very capable audio file format converting utility that can be used from the command line and reads/writes practically any audio file format you will encounter, including 64 bit wav. Type "afconvert" on your command line in terminal.app to see the options it offers. If you're not used to using the command line you might find this very uncomfortable, but it's really worth getting into it.
Let me know if you need help,
    Jazz

  • Enable Bit-Accurate Recording (Other post maybe in wrong pla

Ok a little confused. I have Adobe Audition and Audgy 2 Platinum EX and need a high a quality true-to-original recording. A few questions:
. Should I set "enable bit-accurate recording" and why if so
    2. If I set Bit accurate recording and the Input via SPDIF is 6 bit @ 48 KHz should I set Adobe Audition to record at this also? Since adobe recommends always recording in 32 bit mode.
    Thanks

I had forgotten I had this topic started in the first place.... LOL
Well, as I have said in my original message, I normally don't have the need to play .wav files that are coded in DD or DTS, so the fact that this is on/off at any time have little to do with my normal uses. I have no trouble getting the SPDIF signals to my speakers using the other playback media such as MP3s, regular .wav, CDs and DVDs, they all work normally as they should.
So that was just a bit of a curiosity on my part.

  • Captivate 5 and Win 7 - 64 bit

does Captivate 5 work with 64 bit Windows? Doesn't say in the requirements.
    Brad

    Brad,
The FAQ section on the Adobe webpage for Captivate 5 clearly states that it is only certified for 32-bit versions of XP and Windows 7.  Why?  Don't ask me.  64-bit Windows platforms have been around for 3 years now and Adobe is surely taking their sweet time acknowledging that fact.  They don't even have a Flash player plug-in that's compliant with a 64-bit web browser yet.  Adobe, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR ! ?  Don't you realize how many customers with high-end PCs are running 64-bit platforms now (if only to be able to take advantage of more than 3GB of RAM)?
Now, I haven't yet tested Captivate 5, but what I can tell you regarding Captivate 4 is this...
The program works on a 64-bit PC (with the latest patch), providing you are recording a 32-bit application.
When attempting to record a 64-bit application, only one frame is captured.  After initiating the recording, whether in automatic or manual mode, all keyboard and mouse input is ignored.  The only response you can get is clicking the tray icon to end the recording session.
However, full-motion recording of 64-bit applications does work, since the camera runs continuously regardles of keyboard and mouse activity.
I suggest installing a trial version of Captivate 5 for your 64-bit OS before committing to the purchase.  I suspect that the results may be similar to those of Captivate 4; but, again, I don't KNOW that to be a fact.
I plan on testing Captivate 5 on my Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit) workstation and will post again when I've tested it's ability, or lack thereof, to capture from 64-bit applications.

  • 8 bit format recording error

I have been having trouble recording a podcast. Im doing a project for my school, and 3 different recordings have gotten messed up because of errors I get when i go back to play it. There was an error code that said "this file type is not supported" as soon as i opened it up, then it says that an audio file is not found, then one invalid region changed, then gargageband found one audio file in 8 bit format. This format is unsupportive and cannot be played back. So all these errors keep me from listening to the recording. I dont understand how it doesnt work when theres nothing that I'm changing, its done on the same computer, and within a couple hours. once it finally opens up, theres sections from the podcast completely missing, some say file not found, and if i even try to play it, it just gives me the warning saying one or more files were recorded in 8 bit format. Somebody please help me, my professors dont know how to fix the problem, and still do not give me any credit because of the technology issues im having.

Ok i thought I could change it in garage band. The files Im talking about are each recording, after the project is finished and I save it, then I cant play the whole thing back because it says that one or more recording were recorded in 8 bit format, which i dont even know how that happened in the first place, and when garage band actually opens it up, theres files, or recordings, that are completely missing, i lost about a 2 minute section that was completely gone. then after that, it appears that theres still recordings after that, but where the recording is under male voice for instance, it just says "file not found" in the box where the spikes from my voice would normally be.
