No Way Of Sorting "All Projects" view

Hi,
I've noticed something. When you're in All Projects view in Aperture 2, with the tiles similar to the Events view in iPhoto '08, there appears to be NO way of sorting the Projects. In iPhoto, you can sort the Events by name, or date taken, ascending or descending and even manually arrange them. But in Aperture, the Pro app, there are absolutely no options. Your Projects are sorted by date, oldest at the top, newest at the bottom.
Am I missing something or have Apple really given their Pro app fewer options than iPhoto?

It's funny when "consumer" features you take for granted (in iPhoto) aren't available in the pro apps (Aperture). There are quite a few things actually that iPhoto seems to do better than Aperture. Fortunately, both apps are made by the same company, so Aperture can freely copy features from iPhoto whenever it wants.

  • All Projects view - Sort Order

Is there a way of changing the sort order of the All Projects view - either to name order, or custom rather than the way it seems at the moment - time of project creation from oldest to newest?

I am also looking for a way to do this. When you have 300 projects, it's annoying to always have to scroll down to the bottom every time you click into projects view. I wonder if there is a hidden preference or something like that. Can anybody help?

  • Aperture 2.0 All Projects View Organization

Is it really possible that it's not possible to organize the projects in Apertures "All Projects" view, by
name or any other way except the default chronological???

I don't get it. My projects are sorted alphabetically, but I want them by date. I can't find a way to do it, but searching these forums it seems like most people have them by date as the default....

  • All Projects View - reverse order

    Hi,
I love the "All Projects" view in Aperture 2.0 (it kinda reminds me of iPhoto actually), but I don't like the fact that its sorted with old projects first. Every time I click on it I see my old projects from 3 years ago. Is there a way to sort it like I sort my "all photos" view with newest projects at the top? Usually when I click on "all projects" I want to see the current projects I am working on, not old ones, and it's annoying to have to scroll all the way down.
    thanks,

  • Missing images in "all projects view" and System Pref- Desktop!

I was about selecting the image pick for my projects in the Aperture's all projects view to find out that some of my picture are missing.
I had verify that the image I was looking for is actually in my project and isn't rejected. I even perform a library rebuilt, but still a few of my pictures aren't showing up in this view. Anyone is also having this issue, know why or how I could fix this?
beside, I also have a similar issue of some pictures not showing up in the System Preferences under Desktop. All my Aperture's project are there, but not all pictures aren't showing up. By the way, the missing pictures there aren't the same as the ones not showing up in the "all projects view".

The thumbnail you are scrubbing across with the mouse is only 156 pixels wide on the screen. If you have more than 156 images in the Project it'd be pretty complicated to show every single one. As far as I can see the All Projects view is there to give you a quick overview of the Project content, but isn't designed for 'detailed' browsing.
Find the image you want in it's Project, Right/Control-click and choose 'Make Key Photo'.

Only images that have had Previews generated will show up in other applications. Have you made sure that the Previews are up to date?

  • Applying support packs, is there way to see all tables/view/clustered table

We are applying support packs, and they are taking awhile.   Upon review it looks like it's adding some fields to some tables/clustered tables.  Is there a way to see all the tables/views/cluster tables that were updated.  I know I can look at version management, but if somebody can point me to the base tables to look at and I can do an sql to sort them for what I am looking for.   I want to make the changes to the update tables ahead of time by adding the column at the end, so there's no need for a conversion.

    you can find all the changes in Transport requests logs as below ;
    PATH -> SAP******* -> you get package,general text,documentation,table,tabclecontents,porgram,view etc..
Plesae let me know if you have any questions?

  • Is there any way to sort ALL of my clips by date

I have tons of events and many of them contain different dates. Is there anyway I can have ALL clips, regardless of which events they are stored in, to be sorted and presented chronologically?  I have iPhone, iPhoto, Aperture, etc clips all over the place and I want to organize them.  The latest version of iMovie is making organization HARDER not easier!  Does Final Cut Pro have this feature?
I have less interest in making movies than I do watching the clips that I've taken, over 14 years, of the kids, in chronological order.   HELP please!!

    hi, Jamie Wiseman
I think my question wasn't clear.
what i am asking for i want to copy parameters itself as parameter to another report , not just parameter field name.
I put some picture about where i want please check attached.
As you see there is export function inside of export but i dont want to do this procedure of each of my parameters , i want to export them at once.
SO do you have any idea for this

  • 2.1 sort order on 'all projects'

I really like the 'all projects' view, it looks like iPhoto 'events' view, which was sorted, as it should be, in alphabetical order. I love Aperture, however I've been waiting for an alphabetical sort to the 'all projects' view so that I can get rid of (or rather stop using) iPhoto. They seem to have added sort with what seems to only have two options, by date, which is horrible if, like me you have downloaded pictures or old digital photos that contain wonky incorrect information from the wild west days of digital photography.
Any ideas on how to get things to display in 'all projects' like they do in iPhoto 'events'??
BTW, my projects are all titled in the way they should display. events that I want by date are titled as such, other pictures are grouped in projects such as 'Shorty' (my dog).

Sorry Grom, no, there is no UI for the kind of sort you are seeking.

  • Project Web App (PWA)/Sharepoint 2013: is there any way to display two different views of the Project Center PWA web part to the same user in a site collection?

i want some of my users to see all the projects in the Project Center at my top-level site, and those same users to see only the projects they own at a subsite level in Project Center. that way they could see an 'all project' view on the homepage and only
their projects on their dashboard pages (which also have an instance of Project Center web part on them). i have searched and searched but cannot find a solution to this. is there any way to acheive this functionality? thanks in advance for your assistance!

I have tried this in the past, but was not successful, as far as I can recall. Once you access the project center webpart in one page, the view will be retained regardless where you see it again. (until you apply a different view or clear your browser cache).
May be an easier solution is to display a 'report' on the home page with ALL projects (much easier to do), and use the Project Center webpart for the My projects view as it is easier to achieve via Project Server Security, than a report.

  • Sort by date on all projects

    Hello all,
I just switched to Aperture, so forgive me if I'm missing something obvious.
I prefer to sort all projects, events, everything by date, DESCENDING rather than the default ascending.  Is there some way to set a preference for all projects or new imports?  Is there some way to change the sorting on all of my projects at once?  I just imported my iPhoto library, and now I have hundreds of projects to go through and change.  Daunting, and a waste of time.
Never understood why people would want to sort ascending anyway.  You have to open a project and then scroll down to the most recent stuff every time....
Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bryan

    Hi,
I'm afraid that the sort functionality is not provided, you may download the result in excel, and sort by PO date
    in excel file.
    Thanks and regards,

  • In FCPX 10.1, is there any way to just see All Projects?

I spent some time reorganizing my media following the update to Final Cut Pro 10.1, and for the most part I like changes, but I am having some difficulty quickly finding my projects in amongst all of my clips. I see that if I select an event I can see the projects at the top, but if I select a library I don't see a way to see all projects for the library as a whole, or to see all projects for all my libraries in one list, apart from scrolling through the whole list including all my clips.
Is there a way to re-create the old projects library view, or just see a list view of all of my available projects? I'm finding this new organizational model much more difficult to browse.

I don't think this is what I'm seeing. When I select the library, the list is grouped by event, and the projects are not all on top but instead are at the top of each event. So I can only see the projects within the first event, and have to scroll past all the clips in that even to see the projects in event 2.
    Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

  • ALL PROJECTS - CHANGE ORDER

when viewing at the library with the "All Projects" function, the sort order is by date, showing the oldest first. is there any hidden function that changes this order?
also, the "Home" and "End" buttons work in projects, folders and albums, however not in the "skimm through" All Projects view.
having over 100k of photos and thousands of projects, this view is pretty but quite useless unless i can jump to the last projects quickly, or change the sort criteria.

Yeah, this is stupid isn't it? In All Photos view you have the option of sorting by:
    Image Date
    Rating
    Version Name
    File Name
    Keywords
    File Size
    Orientation
    Pixel Size
And you can do all of that either Ascending or Descending. However, switch over to All Projects, and you have the option of sorting by, errr, nothing, in neither Ascending nor Descending. This doesn't make any sense, and makes the All Projects view fairly useless.
What if you want your most recent Projects showing up first, at the top of the grid? Not possible. What if you have lots of Projects with similar names, and you want them all bunched together, sorted by name? Again, not possible.
I really hope Apple implement this feature soon, in Aperture 2, rather than having to wait for version 3 to come out.

  • How to backup all the views in a table

I want export all the view in a schema.
    I used the below command:
    expdp A12/A12 schemas=USER INCLUDE=VIEW directory=pump_dir dumpfile=expdp_VIEW.dmp
    The command executed successfully but,
Estimate in progress using BLOCKS method...
    Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/TABLE/TABLE_DATA
Total estimation using BLOCKS method: 0 KB
    Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/VIEW
    Master table "SYS"."SYS_EXPORT_SCHEMA_01" successfully loaded/unloaded
It seems nothing have been backed up..
I don't want to export specifically. Is there any way to upload all the views using export or any other way.
    Kindly help me..

This job exported views. You would not have seen this line:

If the views were not exported. What were you expecting to see.
DeanYes, it even showed the export was successful, but the blocks size was 0kb.
If I import the dump which I took with the *"include=view"* export command, will the views imported?
And, can you please tell me when I googled about this it was mentioned *"Metadata of the objects(view, procedure, etc) will be exported"* can you explain it?

  • Can I sort the Project Library?

Two quick questions I had trouble finding the answers to.  Are there controls for sorting the Project Library?  With the Events Library, I have a ton of control on how I want my events to be sorted... but I couldn't find any such controls with the Project LIbrary.  My guess is that sorting by date isn't necessarily helpful, because it shows when a project was last opened.. not created.  It would be helpful if there was a way to sort by Project Creation date... or perhaps last export date.  As is, it's just sorted alphabetically.
Side question:  What's the quickest way to find out what the default event for a project is?  From the Project LIbrary itself, I see I can highlight the project and look under the inspector for "referenced Events", but it doesn't seem to tell me what the default event is if multiple are listed.  Once in the project, I'm not sure how to find this information.
    Thanks!

Thanks Tom,  I ended up finding one of my answers.  With the project selected in the Project Library, I can see in the Inspector under properties the "referenced events" down below, but I was not noticing at the very top in lighter grey where it showed "Default Event: Name of Event" ... That solves that.   Once inside the project itself, I couldn't find a way for seeing this information, but at least I can see it from the Projects Library screen.
Basically I'm taking over as editor for a company and trying to make sense of the previous editor's organizational structure.  Let's just say... it's not very organized.  He did a terrible job of naming events and projects and I was having trouble figuring out what goes with what.  I've actually had to build a spreadsheet just to make sense of his mess.  Hah

  • Sorting and Grouping in Projects View

In Projects view, when either of two of the three grouping options is selected, there are two sorts in effect: the groups themselves are sorted, and the contents of each group are sorted. These sorts are handled differently, depending on the grouping selected and the sort order selected.
(It appears that there is a bit of the old Apple voodoo in here. The results are arbitrary , but they seem to have been carefully chosen to meet most users expectations. That is to say -- and this is an Apple programming trait -- the arbitrariness is faithful to the expected users' needs, not to logic.)
There are four sorts available, and three groupings
    Sorts:
    . Name
    . Date -- Oldest First
    . Date -- Newest First
    . Library
    Groupings:
    . Ungrouped
    . Group by year
    . Group by folder
So that's twelve possible ways to display Projects in Projects view.
Let's look at a few of them. I'm going to refer to the groups as "Year groups" or "Folder groups" and to the contents of the groups as "Projects". So there is sorting of the groups, and sorting of the contents of the groups (same as "within the group"). These I'll refer to as "Groups sorting" and "Projects sorting".
    Sort: Date -- Newest First
    Grouping: Group by Year
Result: Year groups are sorted in the same order as Projects. Projects which span multiple years are put in multi-year groups. Projects with the same spans are grouped together.
    Sort: Date -- Oldest First
    Grouping: Group by Year
Results are as expected; a reversal of the "Newest First" sort, but with the same groups: Year groups are sorted in the same order as Projects. Projects which span multiple years are put in multi-year groups. Projects with the same spans are grouped together.
    Sort: Name
    Grouping: Group by Year
Result: Year groups are sorted by year, oldest first. Projects which span multiple years are put in multi-year groups. Projects with the same spans are grouped together. Projects are sorted alphabetically, descending.
    Sort: Library
    Grouping: Group by year
Result: Year groups are sorted by year, oldest first. Projects which span multiple years are put in multi-year groups. Projects with the same spans are grouped together. Projects are listed in the order they occur in the Library structure shown on the Library tab of the Inspector. (Note that this last is literal: a Project named "Aardvark Close-ups" if it's in a Folder named "Zoography" will be listed after all the projects in "Yellow Paintings" and all the Projects in "X-rays, thoracic" if those Projects are in alphabetical order by Folder name in the Library. You can see all the Projects in your Library listed on the Library tab of the Inspector by "{Option}+clicking" the disclosure triangle next to "PROJECTS & ALBUMS" twice.)
    Sort: Date - Newest First
    Grouping: Group by folder
Result: Folder groups are sorted alphabetically by name, descending. Projects are sorted by date, newest first. Clicking a Folder's name in the Project viewer drills down to show the sub-Folders and Projects in the clicked Folder.
    Sort: Date - Oldest First
    Grouping: Group by folder
Result: Folder groups are sorted alphabetically by name, descending. Projects are sorted by date, oldest first. Clicking a Folder's name in the Project viewer drills down to show the sub-Folders and Projects in the clicked Folder (where, again, Folder groups are sorted alpha-name, descending, and Projects are sorted alpha-name, descending).
    Sort: Name
    Grouping: Group by folder
Result: Folder groups are sorted alphabetically by name, descending. Projects are sorted alphabetically by name, descending. Clicking a Folder's name in the Project viewer drills down to show the sub-Folders and Projects in the clicked Folder (where, again, Folder groups are sorted alpha-name, descending, and Projects are sorted alpha-name, descending).
    Sort: Library
    Grouping: Group by folder
Result: Folder groups are sorted alphabetically by name, descending. Projects are listed in the order they occur in the Library structure shown on the Library tab of the Inspector (see note above). Clicking a Folder's name in the Project viewer drills down to show the sub-Folders and Projects in the clicked Folder (where, again, Folder groups are sorted alpha-name, descending, and Projects are listed in the order they appear in the Library).

+I see those icons but note that those projects in folders will be in different sections arranged alpha, and then date within. Am I correct on that?+
    The answer is, it depends.
If "Group by year" is selected, the Groups-sorting will always be by date, regardless of the sort order specified. The Groups-sorting order will follow whatever is specified for the Projects sort order (or default to "oldest first").
If "Group by folder" is selected, the Groups-sorting will always be alphabetical, descending, regardless of the sort order specified. (So if you use Projects view, take care in naming your Folders. Use prefixes if needed to force a desired alpha sort.)
If "Ungrouped" is selected, there are no Groups and perforce no Groups-sorting.
That's all I have to say on this topic (today).
