No Way To Close Edit/Create/Share Feature

I am trying to make a simple graphic by cutting and pasting a picture into a new project, but when I open up the edit drop down menu, the options for copy or paste are not highlighted, so obviously they are not available. The only reason I can figure out is that somehow, unintentionally, I opened something on the right side that says edit/create/share. I have no idea how to close this feature and in the gray rectangle box under those words, it is asking me what I would like to create. I just want to make a simple graphic, but because this project program is open I can't make the graphic I want. Please help me to know how to close this project program (Edit/Create/Share). Thanks for any help.

When Copy and Past are both grayed out it means the there is nothing in the Clipboard to past and there is nothing selected to copy into the clipboard. In the image document you want to past do a select all then do a copy. The targeted layer will be copied into the clipboard. Then switch to the document you want to past the image into and do a paste.

Problems using "Edit Column Widths" feature in List View component

Hello. I'm using a list view component (Xcelsius 4.5 Professional) to display a simple table of text from Excel. I want to adjust the width of the component colums so that all of them fit on the screen at the same time- regardless of how wide they are in the excel columns. The problem is the columns in excel are of variable length; I have no way to predict how wide they will be. The list view component always defaults to the widest column(s) so it ends up pushing some of the columns to the right and I then have to use the scroll bar to see them. I thought the "edit column widths" would allow me to force the column widths in the component (potentially truncating some of the columns), but it does not work that way.
How is the "edit column width" feature supposed to work? What does one enter in the value for each label? Are the units in pixels? When I start entering values I get all kinds of strange behavior...

I took profdant139's suggestions a bit further as my real goal was to have the "Document column" narrower. The goal to be able to see all the other document info that was usually hidden way out to the right
To achieve my results I right clicked in the upper bar with the column names and chose from the drop down box "comments" column (as suggested). I then dragged it to the far right. This pushed all the other columns over.
In the end of the day I ended up adding "Size" and "Date modified" columns as well to get my desired results.
Remember one can move different columns around to be in the order you need by clicking on the column to get it active and then left click and drag it to where you want
Another great thing is that by default (Using Mavericks) the date modified, opened,created columns have date and time. One can shrink them down to xx/xx/xx format by manually adjusting the column width like one does in Excel - click on column separator up top and drag
Once all that is done, at least on my box, I closed it out and opened up a new finder window and everything was as I wanted.

Cannot edit/create new mailbox in ECP - Exchange 2013 CU6

Hello, I am currently running Exchange 2013 CU6. I cannot perform tasks related to recipients such as edit/create new mailbox. Additionally I cannot view the properties of the virtual directories.
I tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE) in different PCs and the result is the same
For example, I cannot click "Browse" in "new user mailbox" tab
"New local Mailbox move" page displays blank

Anyways, the whole thing was back to normal for 1 day on its own, but right now the issue is happening again. Permission-wise, the account I used is in listed Organization Management role
Update: I forgot to try the EMS, but after I recycle the
MSExchangeECPAppPool, everything works fine, except for viewing Groups and Permissions

You can block the items at any time. If you get errors, then you have to take care about them individually.
However you just create problems for standard SAP design of archiving. As I already said, SAP cannot archive blocked orders. Deletion indicator is precondition for archiving.
This deletion indicator is usually set with the archiving prerun program, but it does not set deletion indicators for blocked items.

I was involved with your other thread, so I think I know what you are trying to do.
All Dr's answers are correct.
Now you have a program A written by you that does Runtime.exec() of multiple instances
of another program B written by you. You want A to somehow tell B to exit.
You must use some kind of Inter Process Communication. If this is the only interraction
between the two programs I can suggest two options. If you anticipate more
interraction, you may want to look at other means (RMI, for instance, which was proposed
by EJP in the other thread for starting B, is also useful in exchanging info).
Solution 1:
Start a thread in B and read stdin. A will write to stdin a command, such as QUIT.
When B reads it, it does System.exit().
Solution 2:
Start a SocketServer in B that accepts connections on a separate thread.
When A wants B to exit, it connects to it and writes a command such as QUIT.
When B reads it, it does System.exit().
You may note that QUIT is not the only command you can send from A to B, in case you will need more.

Issue With The New "Share" Feature In FCP 7

I have had some success creating Blu-ray disks using the "Share" feature in FCP 7.
When trying to create and burn another project, I went to Share, let go of the mouse and nothing happens. I've tried the other projects that I've done--and nothing happens. Apple tech support suggested reinstalling the FCP software which I did. Still nothing. Any suggestions?

Can't say for sure but based on Compressor's settings I say that "Fast" is a single pass process with maybe a constant bit rate (algorith just crams the data together as it goes ... get what you get and don't get upset), where as the "Better Quality" will be a two pass process ( analyse the video for motion, color etc first, then compress) with a variable bit rate ( less compression where there is more movement, more compression when the image is static ). It produces a better result at a much slower processing speed.

Unable to upload entire video clip to Youtube from Premiere Elements 10, "Share" feature

I just bought Premiere Elements 10 and plan to upload video to Youtube directly from Premiere Elements 10 "Share" feature. However it always uploaded about 10 to 20 seconds of my 2 minutes video only. Then it only uploded about 20 seconds video to Youtobe successfully but not the entire video clip which is about 2 minutes. Is there anyone face the same problem like me? The WAB is a great tool, when one wishes to limit the Export, or perhaps the area of the Timeline that Renders. However, many do not even notice it, and fewer understand how it works, or how to use it, and it gets in their way, if something is not set properly.

E3000 - "Create Share" in Storage/Disk doesn't work properly

this is my first post here. I have an issue with my E3000 and for some reason I can't find anybody with a similar issue.
I used to have everything setup properly, Upnp (streaming from PS3), FTP server, Public drive. Everything was working perfect. One day, my drive stopped responsing, and because I had a Security IP camera uploading pictures on it, I thought it was full. The partition was corrupted so I formated the drive. Since then, whatever disk I plug to the router, the "create share" window is not working properly. This is what I get:
As you can see, something is wrong because none of the groups shows up and nothing works in this window (I can't save settings).
I tried everyting. and I really mean everything (hours of debugging). FAT32, NTFS, formating from XP, from the router itself, 3 different HD, different sizes, different web browser. I'm stuck.
Any idea what causes this? the Router works fine but I can't use the USB features because of this....I cant setup a share.

Thanks, I got it to work at the end.
I didn't fancy reconfiguring everything so I first restored to default and loaded my configuration again. Same problem.
I had no choice to restore to default, test that the "Create share" works, and reconfigure everything. I love this router but really this should no happen.

Forcing Server Preferences to create shares on non-startup-volume

I set up several SLS Servers in recent weeks on which I have the System Volume and a different one (mostly RAIDs) for data and shares. What's driving me crazy is that Server Preferences always creates shares on the system volume. Is there any way to specify another default volume for that?
I know how to do it in Server Admin but it's complicated compared to the One-Click-Functions in Server Preferences.
Any suggestions?

PS: here it's meant for the group shares. Seems there is no way in Server Preferences to create a user home folder anyway.

What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
You should be able to delete events in iCal as long as they are not from a "Subscription" calendar. Subscriptions show up on the left hand side of iCal under the "Subscription" category if you have any.
You can tell iCal to not check your mail program for invites by going and unchecking the box found in iCal > Preferences > Advanced > "Automatically retrieve..."

If you are using an older version of iWorks, the sharing was, I understand discontinued in July 2012.
New versions of the iWorks suite, Pages etc now have the sharing option, introduced earlier this year.

Right way to close a dialog?

I'm working on an Application in which users update data in non-modal dialogs. We have been coding these dialogs as subclasses of JFrame. I know this sounds like a very-basic question, but I've searched stacks of books and numerous messages in this forum.
What's the correct way to close a dialog box. I need to achieve the following:
1. Free memory of the object that implemented the dialog box as well as any memory resources the system used to realize it on the screen. In other words, no memory leaks. (I assume setting defaultCloseOperation to WindowConstants.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE would help with the memory cleanup).
2. I don't want to close down the entire application when someone clicks on the OK button. This, of course, rules out the technique used in all the single-screen Swing tutorials, which is to call System.exit(0).

hey tim. I had the same problem recently. try putting dispose(); in the action listener for your OK button. this should work!

Assuming you do not have access to the "original" video/project and the YouTube video is the only copy, there is a method. Try "YouTube Downloader" which is a free software that allows you to download clips from YouTube as .mp4 files. You can then edit with Premiere, and re-encode again for upload to YouTube. Just keep in mind that you are re-compressing the video so there will be some quality loss. The better the quality of the original, the better the copy will hold up.
