No way to definitely delete an iphone app in itunes tab

I have a very long list of unused app in the left column of the app itunes tab... And no way to delete them.
I have looked everywhere in the web, some people say that, when deleting an app, there should be a pop-up window asking me if a want to only remove the app (from iphone) or delete it (from everywhere, iphone and itunes, it appears no more in the left column of the app tab)... But I don't get this pop-up window never... And the app are then only removed from iphone, and I have a very long list of unused app in the left column of the app itunes tab....
When I right clik on the app (in itunes, in the left or right column of the app tab), no pop-up appears.
In itunes, pref, I have reset the dialog pref...
Of course, rebooted... Everything is last updated...

You don't delete an app from your iTunes library under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Select Apps under Library in the iTunes source list.
With Apps selected, select the App that you want to delete followed by selecting the Delete key.

Hold your finger on any app until they all wriggle, then tap the "x" on the one you want to delete.
Note that the built-in apps cannot be deleted.

  • How to update iPhone Apps with iTunes 11?

I'm having trouble updating my iPhone Apps using iTunes. I've already transferred my purchases from my iPhone to my mac.
I've downloaded updates for the iPhone apps, but for some reason I can't sync the updated apps to my iPhone.
Is there an option to make sure my iPhone apps will sync from my mac to my iPhone and vice-versa?

I clicked the Apps tab and when I'm on the Apps page, there's no checkbox or anything next to the Apps title on the page like the Music, Movies, etc pages. where do I go from there?
I know that how we used to do it, but in iTunes 11, Apple removed the checkbox for sync Apps on the Apps page. So is there another way now to select "Sync Apps"?

  • Can I use the Find my Iphone app on Itunes?

Hi, I was wondering if i could use the find my iphone app on itunes, i do not own any other apple device except my phone.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You can use the find my phone app on your phone if you want, however there doesn't seem much point, since you will have it in your hand when you are using it and therefore know where it is.
You can enable the find my phone feature through settings >Icloud, and then track your phone at iCloud.com, should it be lost or stolen.

  • HT1688 i lost my iphone i just downloaded locate my iphone app in itunes...where do i go from there?

i lost my iphone and downloaded locate my iphone app in itunes..what do i do from her e to locate it?

Did you ever enable Find My iPhone on your iPhone in Settings > iCloud?
If you did not, you're out of luck.  You will not be able to locate your iPhone using any app.
If you did, simply log on to iCloud on any computer at http://www.icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone link.

Not via Bluetooth. You can connect over Wi-Fi, but this needs to be configured when the device is connected with a cable.

  • How to delete iPad/iphone apps on laptop but not anywhere else?

    Hi,
i'm trying to free up room on my Macbook Air, and delete tv show episodes and large apps from itunes. When I hit delete it says
"Are you sure you want to delete the selected TV show from your iTunes library? This TV show will also be deleted from any iPod, iPhone, or iPad that synchronizes with your iTunes library."
Which i don't want - Ijust need the space back on my Macbook Air. How do I delete selectively?
    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Do not worry about apps. If you delete them from iTunes, you will keep them on the iPhone, iPad and/or iPod touch and you will not get them deleted when you sync them.
However, respecting to TV shows, you will get them deleted when you sync your devices with iTunes. The only way to prevent this would be to transfer them to your MacBook, which you do not want to.
Another solution you have is to move the iTunes library to an external drive, so you do not have to delete anything and you will get free space. Also, it is good to keep a copy of your apps and TV shows on your Mac in case you need to copy them back to your devices

  • Afraid to delete an iPhone app that is on the iPad

I mistakenly copied an iPhone app to my iPad. I already had the iPad version of the app on the iPad. So, there's no need to have the iPhone version of the app on it. I want to delete it but I get a message that says that all of my data will be deleted. Will this actually happen if the iPad app is still installed?

connect your iPad to itunes....  select your device from the menu.   and scroll through the apps that are on your device.  They will be in different categories depending on what device they are made for.  so the ipad version will be in the ipad section.....look for the other version, it will most likely be in the iphone, ipod section...deselect that.  and sync.  that will ensure you keep the ipad version and not the iphone version.

  • In itunes - apps, how do I delete an iphone app I'm no longer using?

App has been deleted from phone, but still shows in itunes. I don't want to see it in itunes either.
clicking the app and pressing delete key does nothing
menu Edit - Delete is grayed out
I'm using the latest version of itunes, on a windows 7 machine.

Try the following: in iTunes under Library in the left pane (not under Devices), click Apps and then click the app you want to delete and then on the iTunes Edit menu, Delete.

  • Is there a way to PERMANENTLY DELETE purchased songs from your iTunes/iTunes account

    Hi
I have 11 purchased songs in my iTunes library. Since iOS7 i have not been able to remove these songs from my 3rd party music player.
I would like to permanently remove these songs from my iTunes account, my iTunes, my iPhone. I don't want to see these songs appear on any of my devices ever again.
Is there a way to remove these purchases permanently so they are no longer available/associated with my account?
Please! Any help is appreciated, this is seriously annoying.

Turning off iCloud will not accomplish anything, unless you simply wish to sign out your AppleID for itunes adn app store. Then of course, you would not be able to purchase apps or other content.
Any itunes or App store purchases can be set to hidden, as ckuan instructs. These would not show up on your device. But no, there is not way to completely delete content purchases.
You can offer Apple feedback here, if you wish: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Cannot rearrange iPad or iPhone Apps in iTunes

Since updating to Mavericks, I cannot rearrange iPhone or iPad apps in iTunes.  The instructions say "Select apps to install on your iPhone or drag apps to a specific screen.  Drag to rearrange apps, screens, and pages.  I can rearrange pages, but I cannot rearrange apps. I am using iTunes 11.1.2.
    Advice, please?

If you mean that you are trying to rearrange the way that the apps are organized in the apps list in iTunes on your computer, I don't think you can move those around. And I don't think you can rearrange the way the apps are listed in the purchased tap in the App Store on the iPad. That is the way that iTunes lists the apps for reference. I'm pretty sure you cannot change that. That just indicates which apps work on the respective devices.
Am I missing the point of what you are trying to do? Your post does state "organizing apps in iTunes" so that is what I'm basing my assumption on.

  • Syncing IPhone apps with ITunes or vice versa?

I have what is probably a very simple question but the more information that I read the more confused I'm getting. I use my IPhone to download apps and then I delete them if I decide I don't want them. I only use ITunes to "backup" my device. I have never downloaded an app to Itunes and I don't plan to; I do everything on the phone itself. It is my understanding that if I sync with Itunes I can first transfer purchases from the phone and then sync the phone with itunes. It is also my understanding that the end result is that the apps on my phone will match the apps in itunes. However, if I deleted 20 apps from my phone but not from Itunes, then syncing is just gonna put them right back on my phone, correct?
All I want to do is backup my phone in case something happens. I don't care what's accessible to me if I'm on ITunes because I never am. Can I just backup my phone and completely ignore the apps? If I were to lose my phone, I could just login to the app store and re-download them.
Sorry for the lengthy question but it seems I'm trying to do the opposite of what syncing is intended for. Is syncing synonymous with backing up?
    Help please.

It is my understanding that if I sync with Itunes I can first transfer purchases from the phone and then sync the phone with itunes.
Before you connect your phone to your computer, make sure that autosync is disabled in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
Make sure to have at least one contact and event listed on your computer, syncing to an empty address book will delete your contacts.
Right click on your device and choose "transfer purchases". All bought media and apps from iTunes will be copied to your iTunes library on your computer. Apps you deleted on your phone before will not be transferred, but iTunes will remember that you bought them, in case you want to download them again for free: Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Apps you deleted on the phone will not be synced back unless you select them again in the app pane and sync your phone after that.
Transferring your apps to your iTunes library is necessary, because the phone is not supposed to be a backup medium. You might consider that when iOS5 and iClound will be introduced, but until then it's a good idea to have a backup of your apps inside your iTunes library.
To back up manually without syncing do this:
Right click on your phone in the device list and choose "backup". A manual backup without a sync will be performed. See what's saved inside the backup here: iPhone and iPod touch: About backups
