No way to download i-books using iTunes?
I bought a book using i-books on my ipad. The book is too large to download via 3g. I think the cutoff is 20 megs? So when this happens with an app or an app update, I go to itunes and use the menu item "Store/Check for available downloads..." and the app is downloaded. Then I sync my ipad and the app is transferred over to the ipad. When I tried this in order to download the new book, it doesn't get downloaded. I guess iTunes doesn't check for i-book purchases that haven't been downloaded?
Does anyone know if this is correct or is there some other way to do it?
FYI - I'm camping and my only internet connection is 3g on the ipad and a USB dongle on my Macbook Pro. No access to WiFi out here!

Well... I guess someone at Apple was listening to me because it works today. No kidding. I was able to download the book directly using iTunes. I then synced my iPad and the book transferred to the iPad. I actually clicked on the downloads "tab" or whatever it's called in iTunes and watched the book download. Just the same as if it was a podcast for example. Maybe there's a delay between the time you complete the purchase in iBooks and when the book will show up in the "check for available downloads" menu?
The way I found out about this was that I received an email from Apple letting me know that a book that I had pre-ordered in iBooks was now available for download. There was a link to download the book. I clicked on the link and iTunes opened and started downloading the pre-ordered book as well as the book that was too big to download via 3g on my iPad.
So in fact i-books can be downloaded directly to iTunes.

Are you close to an Apple Store? You can take it in to the Genius Bar; they will download the file for you.
Do you have a laptop? How about a nice Latte at the nearest Wifi hotspot while you download the Update? -

When you get a extended car warranty, you don't sign up for it.. it is just there and is included in the sale. You don't buy this warranty to use it.. You buy it, in case something happens. Here a perfect iMAC with minimum 100 hour useage has a dead drive. That is not normal and I should not have to even be requesting anything since most MFG offer a 3-5 year warranty on their disc drives and I believe that is probably passed on to Apple regardless if an extended warranty is purchased or not. Customer service dictates a more flexible approach to make sure the lifetime value of a customer is not lost due to some misunderstanding.
I was in the MacStore that I purchased the unit..and they found and pulled the invoice and confirmed
the purchase of it in front of me. I had paid with credit card and fortunately it was there in their system. I do not also recall recieving any box or paper although most everything I ever get remains sealed.. I am not in the habit of opening anything since I have never encountered any serious issues before.
I have used my Macbookpro warranty 1 time and that is all throughout the years I have been investing in Apple equipment.
I just recieved a letter from the store asking me to get the paper to them so they can register it... I don't recall getting any paper actually. But I do have several boxes sealed here.. On this iMAC27, it was a hurry up and get it done thing and I don't remember taking anything extra with it. Regardless, my request does not seem unreasonable.

Export to vCard and Google for one of the many vCard to .csv converters.
When you search for it please use .csv instead of cvs, cvs is a drug store.

You can't, iBooks from Apple can only be read in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch - there isn't currently a Mac nor PC reader for them.
Neither Adobe Digital Editions nor any other app can be used to read paid-for books from the iBookstore with DRM, if you were thinking of an alternative. -
I just downloaded four books through iTunes. I tried 5 times to sync the books onto my iPhone. They did NOT appear on my iPhone. Previous books synced without problems. I tired syncing ALL books, and also selected book by selecting the new books. No luck. What do/can I do now. iTunes prevents me downloading again. The books show on the computer. I cannot redownload direct to my iPhone now as iTunes indicates the books are already downloaded.What do/can I do now?
You got the new iphone????? I have same problem. I transferred audiobooks to device to find no audiobooks on device (despite it being in iTunes as if it was). Have you found a solution????? I even tried to change import settings on format transfer but hasn't worked.

Every purchase page for an ebook has a section that says "Requirements". What does that say for your particular book? That should give you the answer to your question. Conversion is normally not possible.
But there are some exceptions. Please provide the Title of the book if you want further help. -

While downloading a book from iTunes, my internet service was interrupted and i didn't get the entire book. Now when i try to download it, i get the message that i already have downloaded it. It hit the download button in the purchased section, and nada! How can i re-download the book?

Try this:
Open your iBooks app on your iPad
Select the Store Button at the top
Select Purchased at the bottom
You will see your AppleID on the right at the bottom, then Redeem, then Support
Click on your Apple ID, and when the AppleID window comes up with the options, Sign Out
Then Sign In again and try redownloading your book

How are you trying to open it? The iBooks you download from iTunes can only be read on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone) or on a Mac running Mavericks.

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with iBooks on your devices. If you continue to have issues opening the book in question on your iPad Air due to a format error, you may want to try deleting the copy on your iPad, then redownloading it directly to your iPad from the iBook Store. I have downloaded a book from itunes but it wont play. It says it has downloaded and i have checked this against the store.
I've had similar issues. Turning off firewalls seems to help the download to complete properly. Otherwise, I'm not sure what the problem might be.
