No way to install extensions in DW CC 2014

There is now no way to install extensions that were previously purchased.
The extension manager does not recognize CC 2014 Apps and yes, I know about the Addons page but that doesn't work either for the free extensions I have previously and there is no way I am spending a few thousand dollars again on repurchasing apps.
There is no excuse not to have a new version of the Extension Manager.

Tom,
I had exactly the same issue and found that Creative Cloud for some reason was not updating and installing the latest build - so I totally deleted it and re-downloaded the correct build (7.3.2.39) then installed - fixed the issue.
As I posted last night, I had uninstalled (using the uninstall app in Utilities) and reinstalled. Tried again, same error by Extension Manager.  Today, I used the uninstall app inside the Extension Manager app, it left some remnants in the Extension Manager folder.  So, I have a little utility called App Cleaner which I used - dragged the remaining Extension Manager and App Cleaner deleted along with all preferences that Uninstall Extension Manager left.  I  have a menu extension from Project Seven, here is what they say on their web site:
"New Adobe extension installer formats
Extension installer files come in 2 formats: MXP and ZXP. MXP is supported by Extension Manager versions MX, MX2004, 8, CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.5 and CS6. ZXP is supported by versions CS5.5 and higher. Dreamweaver CC has dropped support for the MXP format. To continue to support all Adobe customers, regardless of version, we include both the classic MXP and the new ZXP versions in new product releases. All existing products have now been updated to include a ZXP version."
Well, I still get this error after uninstalling and reinstalling via CC menu:
The current Dreamweaver version is 15 so I don't know what to do.  And I need this extension to update my web site menus.
Thanks for any insight.

  • Problem with Adobe Extension Manager CC. Does not show installed extensions.

Adobe Extension Manager CC does not show installed extensions for Photoshop CC 2014 or Photoshop CC so that I am unable to uninstall extensions.  This means that I cannot install updates to extensions.

Hi JJ - thank you for getting back to me.  I got onto an Adobe tech and we tried various things including re-installation of Extension Manager, which didn't fix the problem.  We then updated Photoshop (I was one point release back) then re-installed EM and this has fixed the problem.
I did check online and quite a number of people seem to have had this problem, so I guess Adobe has fixed whatever bug was in there.
    Thanks!

  • [solved] Preferred way to install & update Gnome extensions

    Hello there,
What is the preferred way to install and update Gnome extensions?
    Do you
    a) install the respective extensions from the AUR
    b) or do you use the https://extensions.gnome.org/local/ page for that purpose?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of both ways?
    Thanks!

Because if you use the AUR, you depend on the respective maintainers to update their PKGBUILD when a newer version is out. If they don't update, you will not receive a notification that a newer version of your extension is available.
With extensions.gnome.org/local, you do not depend on anyone else. It has no harm to your system to manage extensions like this; they get installed for just your user (in $HOME/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions).
I know which method I prefer.
Hmm true, despite the bad effects of using the AUR prefer to use it cause I don't like to add extra interfaces for every app. But I think that is just an opinion...

  • [solved] INSTALL EXTENSIONS/AAD ONS INTO A NEW PROFIOLE USING A WAY LIKE dpkg --get-selections /backup/installed-EXTENSIONS.log

    HERE AN EXAMPLE https://wiki.debian.org/ListInstalledPackages
BASICALLY I'D LIKE TO SAVE A LIST OF ALL MY INSTALLED EXTENSIONS/ADD ONS AND USING A COMMAND LIKE 'FIREFOX --PROFILEMANAGER --INSTALL ADDONS-FROM-LIST PATH/OF/THE/LIST
I'M USING A PROFILE THAT HAS PROBABLY MORE THAN TEN YEARS AND MY FIREFOX IS BECOME SLOW BUT I DONT LIKE TO INSTALL EACH EXTENSIOM BY HAND.
I AM SURE THAT WITH A FUNCTION LIKE THIS MANY PEOPLE WILL CAN GET THE BEST FROM FIREFOX PERFORMANCE AND STABILITY JUST SAVING A LLIST, REMOVE ALL SETTINGS CACHE ECC AND THEN START A CLEAN INSTALL IMPORTING THA ADDONS AUTOMATICALLY. I HOPE THAT YOU WILL CONSIDERATE THIS IDEA. TAHNKS FOR READING, PAOLO

If you're thinking that a feature like that should be built into Firefox, please provide feedback here: https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback
As far as that idea overall, have you investigated what might be available now? Or at least something similar?
    # https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/ - worked fine for me the one time I used it, but I have too many extensions that aren't available from AMO

  • I moved my Adobe program files to my E:\ drive and now I can't install Extensions

I'm using Adobe Master Suite CS5.5 on  Windows 7 64 bit, I moved the programs using a program called Application Mover (http://www.funduc.com/app_mover.htm)
I'm trying to install a .zxp extension into Flash Professional but have not been able to do so without Adobe Extension Manager knowing where my Flash program files are located.
The only programs that show on extension manager are the 64 bit ones, Photoshop and After Effects.
Is there a way of either bypassing the extension manager completely or is there a way to update extention manager's file paths?
    Thanks

Extension Manager gets the insallation path of all supported products (DW, PS, etc) from the database which is created during the suite installation. Application Mover doesn't know this database and can't update it, so after moving Extension Manager can't find all moved products.
To install extension bypassing Extension Manager, please refer to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/977023?tstart=0. Although this guide is intended for Bridge, it also applies to other products.

  • Can't install extensions in DW CS3 since downloading Photoshop CS6 trial

I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP. About a week ago I downloaded the Photoshop CS6 30-day free trial. Since then, when I try to install an extension in Dreamweaver, the Adobe Extension Manager CS6 opens, with the message "This extension can not be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 6 or greater." I looked at Add & Remove Programs on my computer to see if the Extension Manager CS6 could be uninstalled, but it's not on the list of programs so I guess the only way to remove it would be to uninstall the Photoshop trial, which I don't want to do. Is there any way around this problem? The extension I wanted to install is an update of a PVII product that I already have installed.

Thanks Murray! I selected Commands>Manage Extensions, the old Extension Manager opened and I clicked File>Install Extension and the extension installed with no problem. The first time I had tried to install it by double-clicking directly on the file and that's when the CS6 Extension Manager opened and said the extension culdn't be installed. Thanks again!

  • Installed Extensions and System Package Names

I've read through reams of documentation about installed extensions and have experimented with putting jars into %JRE%/lib/ext, etc. My question is - is it possible to put jars that contain classes with system package (java.*) names and use them?
This might sound like a strange thing to want to do, but I've been experimenting with the Long Term Persistence mechanism (http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/persistence2/) which comes as a jar with classes of the package 'java.beans'. To use this from the command line I have been using the -Xbootclasspath option to include the jar. However, I want to deploy my app through Java Web Start and cannot (as far as I know) use that as a JVM option.
My last hope is that I can install these jars as extensions on the client and see if I can pick up the classes there. Is this a security violation though - using system package names for extensions?
    Cheers
    AlanB
P.S. I could use JDK1.4 which has the persistence mechanism as standard but the app server I'm using has 'mucho grande' problems with clients using 1.4!

I think i may have a similar problem too. I would like to extend the new java logging classes and make a new handler. To do this, the handler needs to invoke methods in the package java.util.logging that are not public ( LogManager.getStringProperty() ). So it needs to be a part of this package and I am not sure if this is allowed. Is there a way to get around this?

This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • VM in Running (Installing Extensions) state - it seems it's failing to enable the Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.IaasDiagnostics plugin

My VM is in the follow state "Running (installing extensions) state. In the dashboard it appears that the IaasDiagnostics extension is not enabled. The message displayed in the dashboard is:
Enable failed for plugin (name: Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.IaaSDiagnostics, version 1.2.0.0) with exception Command C:\Packages\Plugins\Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.IaaSDiagnostics\1.2.0.0\DiagnosticsPluginLauncher12.exe of Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.IaaSDiagnostics has exited with Exit code: -3
How can I get this working?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your feedback.
Can you RDP into the VM? If yes, you can check the log in the path below to see if you can find any root reason for this issue:
    C:\WindowsAzure\Logs\WaAppAgent.log
I also tried to use the Remove-AzureVMDiagnosticsExtension cmdlets to do that and got the same results as yours:
I am sorry to say that I haven't found any ways to remove the DiagnosticsExtension in Azure PowerShell at present. I recommend you to feeback this on the Azure feedback
    link below:
    http://feedback.azure.com/forums/216843-virtual-machines
By the way, you can access the
preview portal by going to Browse Virtual Machines, select the VM, select
Extensions, select the extension to remove and click Delete. After it has been deleted, go back and select
    Add and add it back.
In addition, if you restart the VM and still encounter this issue, please contact Azure support by requesting a support ticket in the link below:

  • Are extensions for older Dreamweaver (CS5) archived somewhere? Can an installed extension be exported?

Today's wild goose chase is the extension that restored the deprecated validator into CS5.
I'm trying to re-install the validator extension for CS5, but the link (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=2188 524) just redirects to https://creative.adobe.com/addons, which no longer seems to offer any way to get to older extensions.
Oddly, I can't seem to find the original package (I assume it was an mxp or zxp) on the computer where I already have the extension installed. Maybe it's got a different filename and is eluding my search, or maybe it just went into a temp folder I've long since emptied.
I know that the Dreamweaver/Downloaded Extensions folder in Windows would contain the downloaded install file, but this is a Mac and I haven't been able to find out what the equivalent directory here is.
I'd pack up the installed extension and copy that to the other computer if I knew how to do that, but I don't even know the filenames or locations involved in this extension.
My employer isn't going to update my copy of Dreamweaver, so getting a current editor isn't an option.
Blah, what a mess. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on an install file for this ancient extension? (Or have any other thoughts on how I can track it down?)
    Thanks!
    Al

I don't think that extension exists anymore b/c DW ultimately put their built-in validation feature back in to CS6.  And CS5 is no longer supported.
Why don't you just use W3C's online validation service which is much better than the DW feature?
    CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
If you have Firefox's Web Developer Toolbar Add-on, among many other things it allows you to run a W3C validation on your local files directly from Firefox's Tools Menu.  See screenshot.

  • Cannot install extensions for Safari. Help!

No matter what I try to do I cannot get Safari to install extensions. I have tried some of the answers others have been given for a similar problem but non of them seem to work. If anyone can tell me a way I can uninstall Safari and reinstall it again or repair it I would be incredibly grateful for your help.

    Try deleting the Safari .plist
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try adding an extension.
The only way to reinstall Safari on a Mac running v10.8 Mountain Lion is to reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery
    * Really helps to tell us exactly what you have tried that didn't work. We have no way of knowing

  • Can't install any extensions.  "Installing Extension" dialogue just spins away and nothing happens.

Would you send the log to us?
    1.  Create a file called exmancoreliblog.yes and copy it to
    Mac: /Users/<name>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Log/
    Windows: C:\Users\<name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log
