No way to mix audio from Premiere CS3 with Audition 3??

As a last resort I logged to find the solution to my problem, but from what I can see there isn't any.
I would like to mix and process a Premiere project with 10 audio tracks in Audition. I'm much more familiar with Audition. Am I correct - is there no way to export a Premiere audio timeline for processing in Audition?? I find it hard to believe since I can do so from an Avid OMF to Audition.
Is there NO WAY?? If there isn't, then this is not a feature request - it's a demand, please.

Ozzie, I feel your pain.
A workaround would be to export stems from Premiere -- mic, effects, music, or whatever fits your production -- by muting/enabling the appropriate audio tracks. Then remix in Audition to taste.
At least that's what I tried on my latest video project. Convenient? No. Effective? Very.

  • Exporting 5.1 ac3 audio from Premiere Pro CS4

    Hi there,
I wonder if anybody can help me out with exporting 5.1 ac3 audio from Premiere CS4 version 4.1.0?
I have a 3min long HD 5.1 clip that I need to cut down to 60seconds and add fade transitions to. The final clip will be used in a media player with very specific spec - the clip needs to remain HD 1080p with a frame rate of 29.97 and a maximum CBR of 38. The audio must be 5.1 aac. The format can be mpeg 2 or h.264. The overall quality loss needs to be minimal.
Up to now I have been cutting up footage that only needs to be stereo and I found the best way to to this while keeping quality was to use Prem Pro and export as mpeg 2 1080p 29.97, quality:5, bitratre: CBR 38, audio as mpeg layer 2 (as these clips were stereo only). These clips played back fine and looked great so I wanted to keep the 5.1 clip process as close to this as possible.
So far all I have been able to get from Premiere Pro is an audio codec called DVD_LPCM which the media player will not recognise. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to 5.1 audio so I may be doing something obviously wrong...
    - I have purchased the 5.1 surcode codec and its activated.
    - I have started a new AVCHD (I need 1920x1080) 1080p 29.97  project with a 5.1 audio master
    - The orignal file is an mpeg which I have pulled into PPro and selected Clip > Audio > Breakout to mono
    - I take the 6 mono channels in the project panel and put them into thier own mono tracks in the sequence.
    - the video I use is the original mpeg with the 5.1audio muted in the sequence.
    - When i select each track in the project panel and go to Clip > Audio > Source channel mappings, I see that track has already been allocated a source channel. So I go to the Audio Mixer panel and adjust the 5.1 panners for each tyrack according to what the Source Channel Mapping window has told me - Audio 1 is is L, audio 2 is R, audio 3 is LS, 4 -  Rs, 5- C and 6- LFE
    - I cut the video and all the mono track to the 60seconds I need and export using these settings:
    Video - exactly as before
    Audio -
Format - Dolby Digital, Codec - SurCode, Audio Coding Mode: 3/1 (L, R, C, LFE, Ls, Rs - 5.1 Surround), LFE: on.
The clip exports with DVD_LPCM 5.1 audio. Is it to do with the AVCHD preset? Could anyone help me get aac? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

Using AME and the SurCode Plug-in, here's how the dialog screen looks for the Audio Tab in PrPro 2.0. It should be similar in CS4:
You do have the Minnetonka SurCode DD 5.1 SS plug-in, right?
Good luck, and hope that this is helpful.

PS - note that in the screen-cap, I have composited the dialog box, as though it fully displayed, with no need to scroll it. Depending on your display, you may need to scroll, and your scroll bars will look different from what you see here - just ignore that part of it.

audio from Flash CS3 Video overlapping
help stopping the FLVPlayback instance (which has an instance
name of theVideo) when another button is clicked!
How do I stop flv playback when user clicks a navigation
    button ...
Excuse me in advance for asking about a topic that may be
    very popular!
I'm using the attached code to go from the main stage to one
subset of .swf files (loaded movies) and I apparently have no
problems with overlapping. Hell, the files even seem to unload
themselves correctly. Then, when I go to my second subset of .swf
files (with the exact same AS3 structure), which has a Flash Video
file (made by the FLV Playback component), I get into an
overlapping problem associated with the audio.
How can I stop, cancel, or unload the audio when the file is
clicked away from (the user selects another button on the main
    stage)?
Code attached. Please let me know if anything else is needed.
    Yours Sincerely,

I have tried to clean up code and do this right.
I need help referencing (storing the value in the variable

    correctly.
Also, now I need help with the name of my nav bar button's
method followed by parentheses, which should include the
    appropriate method parameter.
On my main timeline, I tried to clean up the code and use:
    var stopsoundoverlapReq:FLVPlayback =

Then for my nav bar button on this same timeline use:
    any_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, stopsoundoverlap);

The 3 errors I get now are :

  • Does anyone know a way to stream audio from Snow Leopard to a PPC running Panther?

I have recently aquired a iMac PPC, I've freshly installed Panther on it and it runs a treat. I was wondering however if there is a way to stream audio from my main Desktop, a 2007 iMac running Snow Leopard. iTunes library share isn't a solution either as I use Spotify a my main source of music and unfortunetly it is no longer supported for PPC's.
    Thanks, Tim

Unfortunately I could get neither of these to work, probably because of my own ineptitude.
I couldn't get VLC to output from Spotify, this could be my own fault.
I also couldn't make Airplay play with OS X 10.3.9.
I did however find a messy workaround.
I am currently using Airfoil on my main Desktop to output Spotify and then am receiving it on Airfoil Speaker on my iPhone, which is in turn connected to my 10.3.9 iMacs audio input via a 3.5mm Jack.
You need to download an app called LineIn for 10.3 (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/legacy/) to play the sound from the input from the built in speakers.
To be fair it's not that messy it just requires you to have a device that can have Airfoil Speakers installed on it and have a 3.5mm Jack.

  • Always asynchronous audio if I export an MXFop1a file with 8 channel audio from Premiere 2014.1 for delivery to XDCam HD U1 Sony.

I try now for hours to export an MXF op1a with 8 channel audio from Premiere CC2014.1  and with AME 2014.1 to copy the file on my XDCam drive u1 to a disc.
The file is always asynchronous after 20 or 30 minutes. The project is synchronous and also other codecs are synchronous if I export them. So I think it's a bug...
I use the newest Sony XDCam drivers. Also parts with no audio can't be render with intelligent render. If I use this option, Premiere or AME crashes...
I work on a mac system with 10.8.5 OSX.
Does anybody have the same problems or any ideas to solve my problem...
    Best regards,
    Florian

The following will answer both your questions a) and b).
Click on your master timeline and press cmd+0 (zero) to bring up Sequence Settings, then click on the Audio Outputs tab on the right. Click on the Outputs option and change it to 6. You can leave them as Stereo pairs.
Now, back on your timeline, you need to make sure all your audio is organised so each track. A1, A2, A3, A4 etc has all the relevant media on it.
Then, on the left of the timeline you see the Destination toggle buttons, then you see the Padlocks to lock tracks, then you have the Toggle Auto Select squares. If you right-click on the Toggle Auto Select squares you bring up a little sub-menu, at the top of this list you'll see Audio Outputs, which will show the stereo channels for that particular track. As you've changed the number of Audio Outputs in the Sequence Settings, the list will show: 1&2, 3&4, 5&6. You just tick whichever channels you want.
In your case, you have dialogue on the first 4 tracks, no problem, just go down through tracks 1,2,3 and 4 as described above and assign these to Audio Outputs 1&2.
Then just go down through your music and effects audio tracks and assign them accordingly.
Now, when you export your timeline as a self-contained media file, it will have different audio channels.
I hope that makes sense. When you change the number of audio outputs as described in the first step, I believe the rest of it is fairly self explanatory, once you know where the settings are.

  • Encore CS3 Is Stuck Importing As Timeline from Premiere CS3

I just purchased CS3 as an upgrade from CS2 and Exported to Encore from Premiere CS3. I've gotten to the screen that says Importing at Timeline and have been at 49% progress for over 30 minutes. The .m2V, .m2v.xmpses, .wav, and .xmp files were all created but I'm stuck here with the Import.
I'm running on a Windows XP SP2, 4 GB RAM, 2 Dual Core processors machine. I loved CS2. It worked great but there have been multiple problems with CS3.
    Please help with Encore.

  • What audio interface works best with Audition cs6

what audio interface works best with Audition cs6

It depends on how much you want to spend and how many channels you want to record/playback at once. So any decent (normally) external audio interface should do provided it also has robust ASIO drivers for your operating system. Don't go  for a gamer's interface though as they are not optimised for audio recording.

  • I have exported a file from premiere cs3 using quicktime animation codec, when i burn it the audio is not there..help!?

    hello.
am having a proble with adobe premiere cs3
i have exported the file as quicktime using the animation codec, with 100per cent quality as it needs to be the highest quality
when i play the file with media player the sound is there, but when i burn it onto a dvd the audio is not there anymore... i really dont understand what i am doing wrong! can anyone help please?
i am using quicktine as im told this the best for optimum lossless quality
if i cannot burn it with audio using the quikctime animation codec, then i might try exporting it as an avi file. if so, what is the best codec to use for lossless quality?
    thankyou!!!!

And when you follow Jim's suggestions, Export as elemental streams, i.e. one Video-only file and one Audio-only file. Encore will like that better.
    Good luck,

  • No audio in Premiere CS3

    Hi
I have just installed CS3 onto a brand new machine, and no audio of any type is playing from with Premiere CS3 - I have tried all the usual video formats, MP3, WMA etc which all worked on my last computer. (audio in other windows programs works fine). I do get a message when I start up CS 3 which says "The currently installed soundcard driver does not support DirectSound Input, Recording audio is not possible" This obviously doesn't mention anything about playing back audio.....
    Anybody have any ideas?

John, Thanks for your reply. In fact, the audio is built in to the motherboard on my Dell. I'm a little confused by the error message though... It says that, with my present sound card, recording will not be possible. Hmmm... Does that mean that I can not record narration by plugging a mic into the sound card, but that audio from my source tape(s) will still be recorded? I'm just getting started with CS3 after I have experienced a 2 month nightmare of crashes and a multitude of problems with Premier Elements 4. (The Adobe techs finally admitted to me that Premier Elements 4 really isn't cut out for HD processing/editing). Anyway, back to the sound issue.. It appears as though the sound from my source tape is being recorded as is sound from a CD or a file. If it's just the mic input that won't work on my sound card, it's no big deal as I do no narration. If you know the answer to that, I'd appreciate hearing it. Thanks so much for your input! Kent

  • Mixing Audio in Premiere Elements 11

Hello. I am new to PrE and video editing in general.
I have video recorded where the Left (Ch1 mono) and Right (Ch2 mono) are seperate mono audio tracks...Ch1 is a feed from a wireless mic and Ch2 is a feed from a shotgun mic.
In this recorded form they are seperate when played back, Ch1 on Left and Ch2 on Right.
How in PrE 11 can I mix Ch1 mono & Ch2 mono to create a new merged mono audio track?
Then once merged, how can I duplicate this single merged mono track to playback on both the Left and Right channels?
Also if possible how can I lower the volume of the Ch1 (Left) mono audio prior to merging them so the volume levels can be equalized, as the current Ch1 (Left) audio is a bit louder than the Ch2 (Right)?
Thanks for any help you can suggest.

    Santia558
Here is my take on what you wrote.
If you have two mono audio tracks in your video file before import in Premiere Elements (any version), upon import into Premiere Elements they will be merged into one stream and be represented in the project as one audio file in Audio 1. You would have left channel mono and right channel mono.
    You wrote
How in PrE 11 can I mix Ch1 mono & Ch2 mono to create a new merged mono audio track?
It would appear to me that the program is doing that for you when you import your source medium into the project.
    Then you wrote
Also if possible how can I lower the volume of the Ch1 (Left) mono audio prior to merging them so the volume levels can be equalized, as the current Ch1 (Left) audio is a bit louder than the Ch2 (Right)?
You should be able to do that in Premiere Elements with audio effect Balance. Have you checked the description of the Audio Effects available to you in Premiere Elements 11?
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WS4B8135DA-083C-42eb-B09E-65070ECBC889. html#WSF8CBE888-6702-4f8b-A85E-71B4B1531883
What Premiere Elements cannot do for you, then check out the free audio editor Audacity.
Please let me know if I have interpreted your question correctly and/or need clarification on anything that I have written.
    Thanks.

  • Rendering H.264 Quicktime from Premiere CS3

For  a cliënt I have to make a H.264 file in Quicktime that is meant for a website www.leraar24.nl
Since people before me used to deliver using FinalCutPro they made a short tutorial of the exact settings used in FCPro. Now I have to translate those settings to my setup: Premiere CS3 on Windows. I'd like to have your opinion on what settings I should use. Here's what they give up for FCPro:
    Video settings:
    Compression type: H.264
    Frame rate: current
Key frames: automatic, vink frame recording (I think someone misread this  'cause the only the choice in FCP is  frame reordering)
    Data rate: automatic
    Quality: high
    Compressor: best quality
Video size: 512x288. vink deinterlace source video
    Sound settings:
    AAC
    Stereo (L R)
    48.000 Hz
    best quality
    256kbps
Streaming moede: Hinted streaming (prepare for internet streaming)
I thought this should match the following in Premiere CS3:
    Format: H.264
    Range: Work Area
    Preset: Custom
    Basic Video Settings:
TV Standard: PAL (it's the Netherlands)
    Frame Width: 512
    Frame Height: 288
    Frame rate: 25
    Field Order: None (Progressive)
    Pixel aspect ratio: Widescreen 16:9
    Profile: High\
    Level: 5.1
(I have a jpg attached with the settings I used execpt I chose 25 frames instead of 50 frames)
But  apparantly I was wrong 'cause the reported me that they don't want .mp4 but they want .mov instead. They only othter option for me is to export it to DV 25 .mov and then export it from Quikctime Pro which gives me the exact parameters as they gave for FinalCutPro. But then it doesn't look as good as when I export direct from Premiere.
Does anyone have a better idea?

    Thanks a lot Rod,
Here's what I used this weekend:
The only problem is that for audio it won't let me choose AAC like it was 'told' to do in the FCPro settings guide. do you know why the option AAC isn't available? Because when I would choose H.264 as a format then there `is the option AAC so apparantly the audio codec AAC is on my machine. Or isn't it? And should I install it separately? What I did now was chosing the Apple Losless instead:
Tomorrow I'll be hearing if they can get along with these settings.
    Thanks for your feedback.
    Gr. Karel

  • Is there any way to print directly from InDesign CS3 to Mavericks 10.9.4?

Are there any fixes or workarounds that allow me to print directly from InDesign CS3 to Mavericks 10.9.4. Everything I try now causes InDesign to freeze if I attempt to print. The only way is to export the file as a PDF. Thank you.

You shouldn’t be having a problem like that. I’m going to move this to the InDesign forum but it would help if you posted more details on the issues you’re having.
Another thing to try is exporting to INX from CS3 and opening the INX in CS5.5

  • Problem when exporting audio from Premiere Pro v4.2.1 into wave 5.1 format

    Hello to Adobe experts!
After installing of last updates for Adobe Premiere Pro (v4.2.1) and for Media Encoder (v4.2.0.006) the was a problem:
Now I cannot to export audio from adobe sequence into uncompressed wave format with 5.1 channels settings. Source m2ts video files in sequence are with 5.1 audio.
    What I doing:
    1) in Premiere I execute "File\Export\Media"
    2) Export settings are:
    - format: Windows Waveform
    - audio codec: Ucompressed
    - basic audio settings: 44100Hz, Channels: 5.1, Sample Type 16bit
    3) After OK button it opens Adobe Media Encoder.
    4) After pressing Start Queue in Adobe Media Encoder there is a message "Error compiling movie. Unknown error"
In earlier versions it worked fine.
Can you help me with this problem?
    Alexander

Here are the options, from a sequence with 5.1 master track:
    and with Surcode:
Notice that first one does only give stereo as an option. Nothing more. With Surcode it gives you 5.1 sound.
