No way to show show embedded After Effects path in CS5?

A seemingly simple problem that I can't find an answer to.
I have a Premiere project that contains a number of .AVI files created in After Effects. These open the relevant AE projects when I use the 'edit original command. All well and good.
The project panel contains the 'media file path' info which shows where the rendered avi is located, but there is no field that displays the path for the associated AE project. As there are so many of these AVIs it is impractical to open each one and note the AE project path. Unfortunately there does not seem to be any way of displaying this information in Premiere.
I have searched through Premiere's myriad metadata fields, but cannot locate any information relating to the files .aep path.
If I open the file in Bridge however, right click and look at the 'file info' tab the information IS there. It's buried under 'Advanced tab \ Schema \ creator Atom:aeProjectLink (struct) \ creator Atom:fullpath:'
Of all the guff included in the metadata info, this is actually quite important and useful information. So how can I display this field within Premiere?
Thanks for your help!

It doesn't necessarily relate here, but if you go using the terms interchangeably, it might cause confusion with future questions.
Dynamic Link is when you import the AE comp directly into PP, without exporting from AE first.  Any changes you make to the AE comp are immediately reflected in PP, no rendering or exporting required.
A project link is just a piece of code embedded into the export telling the Adobe software what project it came from so you can reopen that program if changes need to be made.  However, any changes made when so doing would require another full export.  It would not update live in PP.

  • Some image imports from Photoshop won't show in After Effects

    I NEED HELP ASAP
I'm creating an app and I used Photoshop. Imported the psd file into After effects. But somehow all the images won't show, only text.
I'm trying to animate it so it looks like a normal scroll up and down from an iPhone. But all the images which are off screen won't show up once I drag it into screen but at the same time the text are all fine. What is wrong? I definitely imported the psd file correctly, since I did it with another project a couple days ago.
Please help. Due date is Monday.
The only thing what's differnt is. The images are all in a clipping mask in Photoshop. All the circles are white shapes and I put the images as clipping mask to that.
Once I scrolled it up I can't see the images. This is how it suppose to be

Did you try to make your Photoshop canvas larger? I'm pretty sure that would solve it.

  • Strokes from PSD not showing in After Effects CC 2014

    Hi,
I made a PSD of a bumble bee. On the oval shape for the body I used the stroke setting as black and the fill as a shade of yellow.
However, when I import the PSD into after effects (to animate) the stroke is missing and it makes the bee look horrible to be honest.
Is there anyway to fix this?
I have googled the issue but the only similar question I found was from 2004, 10 years ago seems outdated.
    Thank you

There are some bugs fixed in this area in the upcoming update.

  • Lens Blur not showing in After Effects CC 2014 Release

    Hi,
As I'm new to the After Effects - Video Copilot environment I can't figure this out that why, after having the plugin in the Effects folder I can't see Lens Blur in Effects>Blur and Sharpen>Lens Blur?
I'm working on the project named ParticleDesign which can be viewed here. How can I fix this problem?
I can only see Camera Lens Blur as the only blur effect close to Lens Blur...

There has not been a Lens Blur effect in After Effects for several versions. It was replaced with the Camera Lens Blur effect years ago.

  • Recent graduate, beginning my career in theatre video - what's the cheapest way to get Photoshop and After Effects together?

    Hi,
As I said, recent graduate. Not a lot of disposable income. I require Photoshop and After Effects to progress in my career. What's the best way to get these two programs with creative cloud?

  • Is there an easier way to work with adobe after effects and final cut pro x

I use adobe after effects and I am thinking about deleting motion and compressor ( I can always install again). If you have a good reason to keep those apps let me know because I don't want to be hasty. If I delete them and stick with after effects and final cut pro...  Is there a secret to easy working between FCPX and adobe after effects?
    Thanks

You'll go from FCP X to and from Motion a lot easier than AE.  Motion does pretty much anything AE does, most of the time faster and easier.  Without Motion, you can't do custom templates.  You can't customize the encoding of files without Compressor.  Why would you want to remove them from your system?  Leave them, use AE if you want along side of them.  But I'd learn Motion first.  Cause AE doesn't read FCPXML, so going back and forth between them is a PITA.
And until Apple releases the round trip between FCP X and Motion fully, we have this gem:

  • Saving After Effects CC for CS5.5 use

    Hi Guys,
This might be a stupid question, but how do you save an After Effects CC project so that it can open/be used in CS5.5?
I know that InDesign has something called an IDML file, is there something similar in After Effects?
    I'd appreciate the help.
    Best,
    Ronald

    Hi bench514,
Glad you found and downloaded the application from that page.
In addition to that link, you should be able to download CS6 applications from Creative Cloud for desktop.
    Open Creative Cloud for desktop.
    Click "Apps"
Scroll down to "Find New Apps"
Click "Sort Apps By" in the adjacent menu
    Choose "Previous Version"
Click the Install button of the application you wish to download
    Choose "CS6"
The application will begin to download
Personally, I had to reboot my computer to have these options. Try that if you have trouble with the steps I just listed.
Another way to reach the CS6 downloads page is to do the following:
    Go to adobe.com
Scroll the mouse to view the adobe.com "footer"
Click Downloads, the "CC Product Trials" page launches
    Click "Other Downloads"
On the Other Downloads page, click "CS6"
    The CS6 downloads page launches
I was also able to find CS6 applications by clicking the Search link and entering "Download CS6" in the search pod. The top result in the search is "Download CS6 applications." If you click that link, it leads you to the page to download CS6 applications.
I have raised this issue with my team. We hope to have CS6 applications more discoverable from adobe.com in the future.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Problem with cue point from After Effects to Flash (CS5.5)

    Hello,
anyone has, or has not problems reading, in Falsh, cue points included with After Effects? (Navigartion cue points).
It is possible export from Flash movie in  .flv format? (Both versione CS5.5).
    Thank you.

No I don't believe it's the footage, as I've been able to transfer the same files on my school computer and use it with ease. It's just any type of footage, if I attempt to drag any of my imported files (whether they're images of any kind or .mp4, .mov, .wav, .mp3) just as I would click and hold the file, my cursor turns into the Mac loading ball. Perhaps is there something these programs require such as Java? I'm not sure if it's related, but I've also not been able to play some games via Steam that I have been able to play in the past with the same system.

  • Problem Rendering - After Effects CS4 and CS5

    Hello,
This problem happens on both my laptops, both of which are more than capable of running and rendering in after effects. When I render the video, it comes out verry choppy and slow. My specs are:
    Dell Studio XPS 1645
    Intel Core i7 820QM Quad Core @ 1.62 GHz
    ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5730
    8GB of DDR3 RAM
    Dell XPS M1730
Intel Core 2 Duo Overclocked to 3.4GHz
    NVIDIA 8800M GTX in SLi
    8GB of DDR2 RAM
If the problem is with hardware, I'm going to have to wait for my new desktop in August.

I have this issue when I try to render a project and continue to do other work on my computer. It seems as you compete for CPU resources you do corrupt the rendered file. On my core i7 with 32gb of ram and 2 gforce gtx 480's hooked in an sli config, I dont have this problem since more resources are available than what my AMD Phenom II 980 with 16GB and no video card has.
Some of the effects and such are so cpu intensive that to get a good render you need to schedule the render before you leave the office, go to bed, etc. Basically, when you start the render, leave the computer alone and you will get a nice smooth file.
Also, I like to do my renders in Adobe Media Encoder.. you can import a project into it and allow this app to do the render.. seems to render faster than AE..
I know this what posted in October and I amreplying 5 months later but I figure this is good info for someone who finds this searching for a solution to the same problem.

  • Magic Bullet Denoiser II Plugin Not Showing Up in Effects Panel on CS5.5

Very bizarre. I have Looks working, as well as a trial of Neat Video.
I have tried holding down SHIFT to reload the plugin cache.
I have tried reinstalling Denoiser II , including older versions of it.
Of note: Reviewing the Plugin Loading Log shows the following:
    Loading C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS5.5\MediaCore\Magic Bullet Denoiser\Denoiser2-64.aex
    Loading from disk...
No loaders recognized this plugin, so the plugin is set to Ignore.
Following this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4058748), I saw in the Registry that IGNORE is flagged as (1), which means to ignore upon load.
Manually changing as that thread recommends, however, doesn't help, as when I reload Premiere it resets the IGNORE flag to (1). Which is of course as the message indicates (No Loaders Recognize, so setting to Ignore).
I'm stumped here. What does it mean by No Loaders REcognized? I'm working with Magic Bullet support also and they don't seem to have an answer either.

  • What's the most thrifty way to procure Premiere Pro & After Effects?

I'm interested in buying a good video editing software package & Creative Cloud seems like a good deal. I don't plan to create websites or Flash programs just yet. Is it reasonable to subscribe even if I'm only going to be editing video? Thanks!

    Personal ideologies aside...
    The facts:
    - Creative Cloud is a subscription service for software.
    - Subscribing to Creative Cloud is (at this point) the only way
to acquire and use the most recent versions of Adobe software,
    and to receive continuing updates.
    - If you stop paying your subscription fee to Creative Cloud,
you will not be able to use the software until you renew.
    - Perpetual License (CS6) is a much bigger initial investment.
    - Perpetual License means you do not have to subscribe to
Creative Cloud and pay a regular fee to use your software,
instead it is a one-time up front payment, and you own it forever.
    - Perpetual License (CS6) will receive no further feature upgrades.
    - Some users are very happy with subscribing to the
Creative Cloud model of acquiring and using Adobe software.
    - Some users are more comfortable using Perpetual License (CS6),
despite the fact that the most recent upgrades are out of reach.
    - Each user is free to decide what works best for them.
If you are interested in extended threads discussing at great length
the merits and drawbacks of both models of using Adobe software,

  • After Effects Render Farm CS5

    Hello,
I have just set up a mini rendering farm, well, basically my MacBook Pro is the master and my 8 core MacPro is 1 node.  I have the CS5 Master Suite set up on both computers both up to date.
After finding some instructions on the Adobe help website, I set my MacPro to watch a folder called "AE Watch Folder" on my Netgear network HD, the MacPro and the Netgear are hard wired to a gigabit switch.
I tried 2 sequences at the same time using collect folders and it worked spot on, i could see the progress by using Apple Remote Desktop 3.3.
After deleting the folder on the network hd, i tried rendering all 8 sequences then i monitored the MacPro and seen it was searching for all the files, after waiting 5 mins it kept repeating the process reading the same files over and over again, so then i cancelled the watch selected watch folder again and then it started rendering? Basically got it working but with lots of fiddling.
All files rendered okay but was wondering if theres is a proper technique i should be carrying out when i do the same task again, which will be soon.  I thought maybe because i was messing around binning files out of the watch folder on the network drive?
Also how will it work when i add another node to the network which is going to happen soon, does it divide the workload up?  Also can you do the same process with Premiere Pro CS5 as i need to put all the rendered files in premiere and stitch them all together but i don't fancy waiting years for my MacBook Pro to render lol.
P.s all files were encoded using Quicktime Apple Intermidiate Codec.
    Thanks

    Hi,
iv'e done some searching and can't find anything on solving the problem with the file scanning prob, both my machines are up to date also.  Is there any other sites that might be worth visiting
    Thanks
