"No Wi-Fi" after 2.0 iPod Touch Upgrade
I was able to update to 2.0 but now I cannot use the Wi-Fi on the iPod Touch. In the settings menu, Wi-Fi is greyed out and where it would normally list the router connected to, it says "No Wi-Fi". Now before you say it must be my wireless router, my laptop sees the connection just fine and it's acting differently then when Wi-Fi is turned on but cannot find a hot spot.
_*I HAVE TRIED*_
- Resetting the iPod
- Restoring the iPod as a new iPod
- Restoring the iPod with a backup
- Turning the iPod off completely and turning back on
- Resetting the network settings
- Resetting all of the settings
Suggestions?

UPDATE:
I spoke to a very nice woman from the iPod technical support line and she said her files tell her the problem is hardware based and to have the unit replaced or repaired. She put a note on the order requesting that it be replaced with a new unit. She's also already filled out an order for the shipping box to be sent to me and said I should receive it tomorrow. The iPod is still under warranty (less than a year old) so the only money out-of-pocket is $32 total for shipping both ways.

Sophos provides a list of Mac viruses here. Almost all are from the late 1980's and early 1990's. The most recent one being June 1998 - and all of them affecting Mac OS 7, 8 or 9 - none for Mac OS X
Virus software on the Mac mainly detects and protects against passing on Windows viruses, which do nothing on a Mac.
In fact, Virus protection software on the Mac is a bit of a scam, as there's none to protect against.
A couple of 'proof-of-concept' viruses were demonstrated for OS X but never released, and as I said, there's not a single virus in the wild that affects current shipping versions of OS X.

Since my IPOD Touch upgraded to IOS 8.1.2 it will not play well with my 2013 Charger's UConnect entertainment system. It will not build a library so I can not Browse or Shuffle. The only thing it does is list all the songs alphabetically when connected via USB.
- Contact the manufacturer/go to their support site.
- Sometimes this works
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Sometimes and ISO update breaks compatibioity and a firmware update the the dock is required or an iOS update is required.
Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple. -

I'll take my chances with remembering a new email address - so long as its not on the ipod that got lost I dont mind.
PS: there was no email account setting on the ipod touch as I just used it for music/video storage onlyIf I read you correctly, your main reason for wanting to take action is so that whoever stole your iPhone will not know your Apple ID.
To my knowledge, there's no way to log out of your Apple ID on your iPhone, seeing as it's stolen. You may as well erase your iPhone, since it's lost anyways. To do that, go to icloud.com and then Find My iPhone. You can find your iPhone and erase it from there. -
i just updated my iPod touch 4G to IOS 5.0.1. after that my ipod cannot synchronise with itunes. during connecting to itunes my ipod seem to be synchronised with itunes but the song or application that i just downloaded did not appear in my ipod.

ITunes crashes after I connect iPod touch
Hi,
My iTunes crashes after I connect my iPod touch. It doesn't even get to the point where the iPod icon shows up in the left hand panel. The crash report is below. My iPod SW Version is 2.2 (5G77a). I'm using iTunes 8.0.2 (20).
This did not happen the last time I sync'ed my iPod, and I haven't updated my iTunes and iPod software since then. The only anomalous thing I can report is that when I was directly downloading some podcasts into my iPod (Ver 2.2 now allows this), that several did not successfully download and I had to abort the downloads. The podcasts showed up in my iPod podcast directory but with the time as "--:--". I retried downloading them into my iPod, and they did download successfully, but the old, aborted podcast entry was still there. So it looks like some of my podcasts have 2 entries in my iPod, one that was successful, one that was not.
Since I have no way of deleting these aborted podcasts directly from my iPod without iTunes, I'm stuck. Help!

Apparently one or more of my iPod podcast directories were corrupted, and iTunes just threw its hands up. So, I just decided to do a restore. I had to do the "Recovery" type of restore (turn off the iPod, then connect to the Mac laptop, while holding down the Home key) so that iTunes would do a restore.
I thought I'd lose some of the podcasts that I had downloaded directly to the iPod that I had not sync'ed back to iTunes. But the Recovery Restore reinstalled the iPod firmware, and left the data files on the iPod intact! This is NOT what is advertised - the Restore message in iTunes tells you that you will lose the data on your iPod. Can't promise that iPod data will NOT be destroyed on a Restore, but this is what happened to me. -
After restoring my ipod touch to factory settings, can we recover old apps and songs
We forgot the password to the iPod touch, when we went to restore the iPod to factory setting, it told us after it was complete that it would give us an options whether or not we wanted to apps/songs/contacts back. The problem is after the iPod got restored to factory settings, we never got the option to download the old stuff again.. Is there any way we can recover that or is it just gone?

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

After updating my iPod touch 3rd generation to IOS5 some default apps are not working (anymore)
Hi,
I updated my iPod touch 3g from IOS 4.x to IOS 5 last week and since then my iPod makes troublle!
First of all, during the update I did not see any Problems. After the update, I mean the step where the data will be restored to the iPod, I synchronized some APPS at the same time, maybe that was a big mistake. My iPod makes hard resets many times in a loop until it frozes.
So the only thing I could do here is pressing the home button and the power switch at the same time until it gets rebooted. The sync started again and it looked like everything runs fine.
As I tried to use iMessage first time I realised the first Problem: I am unable to loginto iMessage with my Apple ID. My Apple ID runs fine, I can by Apps and so on. I also enabled iCloud to see that my Apple ID is ok. But logging into iMessage I put in my Apple credentials and Password, click on next, wait 3 seconds and the screen flips back. So this feature is not working.
Next issue I see is that randomly my iPod hard resets itself. Even if I don't do anything with my iPod I can see that it resets itself, booting with the apple icon. This happens minimum three times a day... (Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV), Kern_INVALID_ADDRESSat 0x00000000)
Today I tried YouTube, an internal Application which I cannot reinstall. It's not working anymore, starting YouTube says: Unable to connect to YouTube!
I have no clue whats going on here because email and web is working fine.
In my eyes I would like to reset the whole device to a state before running IOS5 and I would try the update again. But my Question is how to reinstall IOS5?
If IOS5 will not run smoothly on my iPod, I would prefer to backref to iOS4x.
Is there anyone who could help me out here?

DanielFound the rootcause. The battery was damaged and unable to have enough power to keep the device alive. After changing the device problem is solved.

After updating my ipod touch 2nd gen, almost all my apps won't sync
My daughters each have an iPod touch 2nd generation, and after they both updated their iPod touches, they could no longer sync or install most of theie apps they'v ehad for years. What do we do now since they can no longer place apps on their ipod touches?
Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

I have several automatic app updates that can't be done becasue the error message says "my account is not valid in the US App store - I must switch to CDN first." The phone was bought in Canada??? How do I switch it to the CDN app store. There is no
