- For wifi try her:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
If is frequentl;y a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Why is my wifi on my ipod touch 2nd gen not working?

Can someone help with the wifi on my ipod touch 2nd Gen? Yesterday it suddenly stopped connecting to anything wifi. No settings were changed. The only thing I did was go to itunes for the first time in well, forever. I always use it on my computer to go in itunes, not my ipod. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I could still get on Safari after that but I don't really remember. At some point in the evening it stopped connecting. I can't get on Safari, my mail won't refresh, it would connect to the app store, nothing. Sometimes a message does pop up saying there was a problem connecting to the server. I can't figure this out, internet on my computer is running perfectly fine. My ipod wifi is on, airplane mode off. When I go into my settings it shows my network and that it's connected. I haven't connected it or synced it to the new itunes. I actually haven't downloaded the update yet. Ipod is up to date though without the new sync. Can anyone help me out? I'm very confused.
    Thanks

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Ever since I updated my iPod Touch 4th Gen to iOS 6, If the wifi on my iPod Touch is on nothing else on the router will connect to the internet..
    It's the weirdest thing.
My Wired and WiFi computers are experiencing DNS errors, unresolved URLs and in general having difficulty connecting to the internet...
That is.... UNTIL I SHUT OFF THE WIFI ON MYiPOD 4th Gen TOUCH!!!
    Then everything works fine.
I've reset my router, several times.
I've reset my Cable Moden, several times.
The problem persists until I disable the WiFi on my iPod

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup

  • Wifi not working - iPod touch 4th gen.

Hi, recently I have been experiencing difficulty joininh my home wifi on my iPod touch 4th gen. I have turned my iPod off and then on again three times, reset the network settings twice and checked the wifi works on other devices, please help! Has this happened to anyone else?

Does the iPod Touch see your home Wi-Fi network?  If so, what happens when you try to connect to it?  Does you have security enabled on the router/modem such as WEP or WPA/WPA2?

However, frequently it is due to a hardware problem an an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Aplpe store is required.

  • HT1222 how can I access my Ipod touch forgot the passcode

I forgt my passcode how can I reset to access the ipod touch?

your only shot is using this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
NB: this will erase everything, so I hope you've got a backup that doesn't contain a passcode.
After restoring, you can download your apps again using this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
    Good luck

  • My TC has been working fine. Using WIFI my iMac, ipod touch were able to access the internet. Last night, no internet access and when I plug the router connection in my Mac all is good.

My TC was fine, it supports a Mac and an ipod touch. I have had no issues until last night. Nominternet access, Timecapsule app cannot detect or finf the TC. I have my router cable plugged into my Mac and it's fine. I am using Leopard and have no idea what TC firmware version I am on. The TC does get hot! Any clues?

    Firmware downgrade.
Go to the airport menu at the top of the page when you have airport utility open.
The second screen will open over the airport utility.
Now hold down the option key when you select firmware so not just new ones open but also old ones.
    You get a warning ..
    You proceed.
Now you have your TC with whatever firmware you chose.
That is about as Gumpy as I can do it.

  • WiFi on 2G Ipod Touch is very weak

I had the OLD Ipod Touch (32Gb) and sold it to buy the new 2G Ipod Touch.
So far so good. Got speakers now and I'm happy.
But before (with the OLD Touch) I was able to connect to my home wireless network from anywhere in the house.
Now with the NEW 2G Touch, I have to be in the same room in order to get a signal. Even in the same room... If I'm not too close, the signal will be lost.
I then Upgraded my router to a Wireless N and put a Range Expander (to be sure I have a strong signal) and even my neighbor will get the signal from his laptop and enjoy a nice internet session, but yet, My new 2G Ipod Touch finds no WiFi.
Is the new update causing the problem?
I know the new update messed up the audiobook button and people are waiting for a new update, but could it be that the WiFi antenna is affected as well?
    Help Please!

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes:
I really like my 2g but I noticed the same thing: The wifi detection is very poor, even when I know there are access points nearby and all other devices (not just laptops, but other handhelds etc) have no trouble detecting them. I can see some of the networks in WiFinder if the antenna happens to be on but it apparently turns itself off when it can't find any networks.
I asked a buddy about it and he said he never noticed any problem, but he has a 1g touch. I borrowed his and took a picture with my phone of the two devices side-by-side: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1170172&l=32825&id=508280781. The 1g is on the left, as you can see it detected a lot more networks and had no trouble connecting to the desired network. The 2g is on the right and it sees no networks at all. Occasionally one will pop up in its list with 1 dot for a few seconds.
What I want to know really is really just "Is this a design defect w/ the iPod Touch 2g (and if so is apple going to fix it w/ a software update or recall them or something)?".
If it's not a design defect and mine is just a bum unit then I will get mine swapped out for a new one at the apple store, but it they're all like this then that is a waste of my time and effort. Clearly there is a difference, as the picture shows (and it is completely obvious anyway if you have experienced it).

  • I cant connect to WiFi on my iPod Touch 1G?

I have had an iPod Touch 1G for quite some time now, but I recently upgraded the iOS firmware to 3.1.3, and I just noticed that I cant connect to wifi! Nothing is grayed out, but it cannot find any connections. Ive tried resetting my router and wifi settings, but that diddnt seem to work either.

So it is not this problem:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

  • Will there be a WiFi update for iPod Touch?

I recently got a iPod touch so I could access the internet anywhere on OSU's Campus. For some reason I cannot connect because none of the passwords I have seem to work. I was told that I needed a 802.1x WiFi update for the iPod Touch. Where can I get this, if it is available? I really need some way of getting the internet to work.
    Thanks

No, such an update is not currently available. Whether it ever will be is impossible for anyone but Apple to say and they generally don't announce such things ahead of time. I'm sorry that the Touch isn't doing what you want but it sounds as if you may really need a laptop, not a digital media player.

  • HT3867 Is it possible to pay for wifi for my iPod touch?

I had heard that you can pay for wifi on your iPod but haven't figured out how. I want to have Internet access at all times and not just when I'm near the router. Is this even possible to get with an iPod touch?

    No.
You would ahve to be near a wi-fi router and have access/permission ot use that router/network.
You can buy a my-fi device form a wireless carrier that recieves a cell signal and allows you to use it via a built-in wi-fi router.

  • I really need help with my wifi on my iPod touch 4g?

I do not know much about technology, so I dont know what to do. Anyways, my iPod touch will not connect to the internet. Apps such as iFunny, Pandora, Safari, Facebook Messenger, etc. all say that I am not connect to the internet, even though that the signal strength bars in the top left corner shows that I am connected to my wifi at my house. I have had this iPod touch for a little over a year now, but I would think that it would start to die this quickly. I have also tried to restart my iPod. Wouldnt work. I have tried to turned the wifi on and off. Wouldnt work. I have tried to troubleshoot and have the iPod forget the network and put my information back in. Wouldnt work. I really dont want to fully reboot my iPod until I absolutely know that that would resolve my wifi problems. PLEASE HELP! Thank you in advance. :/

  • Connecting to wifi with new ipod touch - is it posible??

I bought an iPod touch to bring travelling with me, both to carry music and to have access to wifi. I am now in Buenos Aires, unable to use the wifi feature (I don´t know if it´s ever worked as I don´t have wifi in my home and didn´t get chance to test it out anywhere else before I left the UK - stupid,I know)).It detects the network in a wifi zone but won´tlet me join, even if I have the right password etc.I know I´mprobably being an idiot about this but I´m finding it very frustrating.I don´t know if it could be related in any way, but there are also quite a few songs I bought on iTunes that look as though they are playing on the iPod,but don´t actually play with sound.Have I just got a dodgy gadget?

Maybe you should post this in the ipod touch forum.
