No WiFi HotSpot for 4.3.1? Urgent

I have just upgraded to 4.3.1 for my 3GS Iphone, I realised the personal hotspot only have bluetooth and usb options.
How can I set the personal hotspot with wifi?
Please advise.
Thanks.

i tried something in iphone4 and 3GS and happens the same!!!! close the "Settings", and enable the "3G" and the "Data" on your iphone. Then re-open the "Settings" and you will find the "Wifi hotspot" where it should be. Now Close again the "Settings", disable the "3G"and the "Data", reopen the "Settings" and the "Wifi hotspot" is disapeared again!!!!
(Don't forget to close the "Settings" from the "multitask" bar as well)

  • Is there any way to create a wifi hotspot for my macbook using my IPad?, Is there any way to create a wifi hotspot for my macbook using my IPad?

I am going to a lake cabin in Northern Minnesota for a week and need to get wifi for my Mac.  Is there any way to create a wifi hotspot using my Ipad so that I have internet service for my laptop?

No, iPad can become a hot spot, but if you have an iPhone, it can tether if you have a data plan that incudes the tethering option.  With AT&T for example, you can add tethering for $20 month or for $45/month, you receive tethering and 4GB of data per month.  If you have the unlimited data plan from AT&T you'll unfortunately have to give it up if you want to tether.  You can also go to almost any carrier and purchase a MiFi unit which may work for you.  Whether iw will work in Northern Minnesota is something only your carrier could answer.

  • I created a wireless network with my Time Capsule but would like to connect this network to a WiFi Hotspot for Internet Access

I have created a Wirelss Network at home with the Time Capsule and would like to connect this network to the Internet.
I can't use LAN Cable to connect to it anything becasuse I usually use the WiFi that runs through my building.
Can I connect the Time Capsule to the WiFi hotspot somehow so that all computers on my network have Internet access and if so, what do I need?
I need this done because the computers can only be connected to either the WiFi network or to my Time Capsule Network at any given time.
Or is there a way to be connected to both networks simultaneously?
I have two PC's and two Macs.
Thank you for any support and I apologise for my ignorance. I am not too good with networking.
I have tried the silliest of things like connecting a router to the TC only to then realise that the TC had an inbuilt router.
I tried connecting a USB WiFI adapter to the USB Port on the TC but it doesnt detect it that way apparently.
    Please help!

  • Apple should release an option for $1 per day on wifi hotspot mode

some people (like me) only need a wifi hotspot for a few days or maybe a week. instead of paying $20 why not pay for the amount of days you use it. It seems that lots more people would use it because it is more convient and more people would buy the iPhone. this would also be great for when the internet goes down for a day, and internet is in need.

Apple has no involvement with how much you pay for mobile hotspot or other features.  Your carrier sets those rates and policies.  Talk to them.

  • Making iMac a wifi hotspot and firewall

So I successfully turned my imac into a wifi hotspot for use with my ipad and iphone. However, it only seems to work if you completely disable the firewall on the imac. Surely that is not an optimal solution. Looking around on the web I found dozens of explanations how to make a wifi hotspot but nobody mentions the firewall aspect. So my question is simple: can you or can you not make a wifi hotspot on a mac desktop (imac) while preserving firewall protection on you mac.
    Cheers, Bob

Your iMac must be connect to a internet router by Ethernet. The Router give you all the protection you need. No need for the Mac firewall. It is only for Incoming connections anyway. Which the Router already filters.
Not sure why you are using your iMac for Wifi. Just buy a WiFi router. Internet connection sharing is so 1990s.

  • Wifi dongle for ipad

I have a wifi only iPad, and am currently staying somewhere with no wifi, i'm wondering if there is any type of hotspot/dongle I can buy which will allow me to get my iPad onto wifi?

Google mifi. It's a cellular device that you use as a wifi hotspot for your iPad. see the article below to get more info.
    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiFi
Or if you have a iPhone you can use it for a wifi hotspot.

  • How can i make my iphone a wifi hotspot when i don't have wifi in the first place?

    hello all
i need a wifi hotspot for my iphone but i don't have a way to conect to the internet at my house.
    can i get some help?

It's not clear from your post what you're actually trying to accomplish. Using your phone as a WiFi hotspot means that you are using the phone's cellular data connection to create a WiFI network for other devices to connect to. Is that what you're trying to do? If so, contact your carrier and have the feature added to your account.
If you're trying to get broadband internet at your house so that you can connect to your phone to a WiFi network and avoid using cellular data, you'll have to find an internet service provider in your area and arrange for service with them.
    Best of luck.

Its that in my settings, it doesnt show personal hotspot
I was guessing they coudn't see it on the main settings page. My experience is that it doesn't show up there until you've enabled it under Cellular. Apparently, I was correct. This time.

  • WRT54G v4.0 WIFI HotSpot?

    Hi all,
We are a small business in the UK and we have a WRT54G wireless router wich works fine for internal use and we can access the network ect but we would also like to seperate a section of the router and use it for a wifi hotspot for when clients bring their laptops into our meeting rooms. we don't want the hotspot to have access to any of our business network.
Is this possible at all? if so could someone point me in the right direction.
    Thank you

That's not possible with Linksys' firmware on that router. You would either have to get one of the new E-series routers from Linksys or try loading your router with a 3rd part firmware such as DD-wrt (http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database). If I were you, I would get the new E-series because your router seems out of date and has no Wireless-N support which I'm sure your clients would benefit from.
I don't work for Cisco. I'm just here to help.

  • Looking for a WiFi printer that will work with my Nexus WiFi hotspot

On a recommendation, we have bought an Epson NX530 WiFi-enabled printer.  It does not work with the WiFi hotspot feature of my Galaxy Nexus.  The support tech at Epson suggested that we get a WiFi router rather than trying to use the Galaxy Nexus.  I told her that I would rather trash the NX530 and get a printer that would work with my phone.
    So we have 3 questions:
    1) does anyone know how to make an Epson NX530 work via the Galaxy Nexus hotspot?
    2) does anyone know of a different WiFi enabled printer that works with the Galaxy Nexus?
    3) does anyone know if the Galaxy Nexus is inherently unable to work with any WiFi printer?
    Thanks,
    Craig

This website should be able to assist you.  http://www.galaxynexusforum.com/forum/galaxy-nexus-help/8520-wifi-printing.html   I use an app called Printhand from the Google Play Store for my Android tablet and smart phones. I have a Canon  Pixima 3220 that functions great. I also have a higher end HP Envy D410a that also works great with printhand.  The Canon is cheap at BJ's at $40 when I bought it. The HP is about $269 at Staples and other outlets.  Good Luck

  • Is there a fix for wifi hotspot

Hi all, I have used my hotspot in the past,  However after upgrading to IOS 5.1 it no longer works with a Windows machine via wifi.
Is there a known solution, or is it even possible to backdate my phone to a older IOS that will resolve the issue?
Does anybody with Apple care have info on if apple is addressing the issue?
The hotspot works with other devices such as Ipods, and E-readers so I am pretty sure it is a login compatiblity issue between Microsoft windows and apple's Wifi hotspot.
    Highflier
This seems to be a fairly common issue as my wife's Iphone has the same issue and a google shows lots of hits with same problem.

Nope that did not do anything for the hotspot feature, not sure what it did short of a power off/on like reboot.
    Thanks but try again
FWIW the 2 PC's I am trying use XP service pack 3 and a Vista PC.
