No wifi on ios6

So whats the deal, I see there are lots of issues with the wifi and the new operating system ios6, is there a setting fix or do I go to apple to replace phone?
It will not connect to wifi anywhere!

So you are saying that a lot, really lot, iphones that "crashed" after the install of iOS 6 and after doing everything you've said, are all with hardware problems when they have never had it before?!
Because it just so hapens that I asked some friends about that and they all told me that all those problems just appeared after istalling the iOS 6.
And Apple Portugal support told me that we must wait until the new iOS lauch to really see what this problem is.
Anyway, thank you for trying to help us Allan, you've done more than portuguese Apple Support. It's a pity that Portuguese Apple Support can't help us rightly as they should do.

My Apple store don't know the answer and have suggested that I connect to a computer and do a full reset and install iOS6 again.

Cant turn on/off wifi with ios6

Upgraded to ios6 and now I can't switch my wifi to on as it's greyed out to off. Tried resetting the network and restored with iTunes. Please help!

Try this, hold the home/sleep button until the device powers up and restarts, once the apple logo is displayed then let go of the buttons, try the wifi again.

4s STILL not connecting to home wifi since ios6 update

My wife and I both have the 4s. We have not been able to use our home wifi since the ios6 update in Sept'12.
Our macbook, ipad, and tivo all connect just fine. Our 4s's work fine on any other wifi we need - just not the same dlink router dir-615 we've been using for years.
I've reset my phone, i've reset the router, i'm on WPA/WPA2. We're able to use wifi on the 4s for apps and google for about 2 minutes (this is when i assume everyone says "yey! it's fixed") only then stops working, but still shows we're connected to wifi.
Apple blames the router (some threads speak of apple router's not even working)
Dlink blames the iphone software (i've read even brand new iphones still don't work)
Verizon doesn't care because neither of the products are theirs and i'm using more of my data plan - so they win.
i'm growing increasingly embarassed to be "all apple" when i see the thousands of others with the same problem - and NO HELP from Apple. We're basically on our own here - when we used to be able to rely on the company for expert solutions.
I need a solution that is simple. I want a solution that's easy for guests to use my wifi with out taking their phone apart, rewiring it, hooking it up to my car battery, deciphering 4 different codes, and taking an online course at MIT. I just want to use my password and get on my wifi.

i checked for updated firmware on the d'link dir-615 router back in september when this first happened (after the ios6 update) but the firmware was already up to date - although the last update was 2009.
This was my first clue.
After further research, I discovered that all DIR series products have been discontinued by D'Link. This means that when apple is preparing for a software update, it requests all software/hardware specs from wifi router companies like D'Link, Netgear, Garmin, Cysco, etc. Since D'LInk no longer produces DIR series routers, they did not provide the info. D'Link only provided info for it's newest line of wireless routers.
Leaving all existing DIR users in the dust, with a failed strategy that we'd all buy the new line of wifi routers.
Yesterday, I purchased an Apple wifi router, although pricey at $99, i plugged it in, typed the network name and pw want to use, and it was up and running in less than 5 minutes. The apple router will recieve software/firmware updates just as my iphone, macbook, & ipad does. Everything is working perfectly, and the higher price is worth the convenience and reliability.
If anyone makes it this far, the only thing left would be to check with your internet service provider (comcast, RCN, etc) and make sure you have the most up to date modem. some folks are unable to send text & pic messages on wifi using an out of date modem. (i didn't have to replace mine, but i'm also not having this issue now that i have the new apple wifi router.)
Hope this helps at least a few people out there.

Why did I lose wifi withe iOS6 update

After I downloaded the lastest version of the software, I can no longer connect to any wifi network. Error messages states "unable to join the network ....". My phone recognizes the network and repeatedly makes me enter the password.

I restored mine to 5.1.1 and as I knew would happen, WiFi works again.
Both 4s phones on iOS 6 saw networks, but would not connect to ANY of them. All workarounds tried, etc. No connection. (some guy on the forums said when it was changed to G only then it would connect, but greater than G networks would not, so there is a bug in the network range on the WiFi for the 4s) (also another said TKIP WPA-PSK does not work with iOS6, it has to be WPA2-PSK [AES], and not BOTH or WPA-PSK). But neither was my issue because I put no security and still would not connect!!!
Restored, and it works fine. I will wait until Apple fixes this. At least acknowledge it Apple.

IPod 2 can't stay connected to wifi after iOS6

I download iOS6, worked fine for a few hours. Went out to eat, came home and now it cant stay connected to the wifi. I have rebooted my wifi and my ipod already. It will connect and a few seconds disconnect and bring us a strange brower Apple page that says "hmmm the page you're looking fopr cant be found"
Please help! I have no way to connec it to the internet now

Have you tried connecting to other WiFi connections? If so does it do the same?
If not, it might just be to do with the amount of periphirals on your current router and subsequently your router is kicking off you iPhone.
Or you could try changing your broadcasting channel in your internet router settings and see if this fixes it

WiFi in IOS6 does nor work

I read a lot to day about how to handle the Problem, but i doesen´t work on my iPad 3. WiFi still is nor working and was ok until i changed to IOS6.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

When connecting to wifi on ios6 it doesnt let me enter password

I have an ipod touch 4g that I just updated to ios6.
When I was at the little "intro" screen, with the wifi, I tapped my wifi and the "browser" type thing that usually comes up when you connect to a mcdonalds wifi or hotel's wifi, that is a screen where you have to agree to stuff, comes up.It just goes to an apple.com page that basically says this page doesn't exist. It wont let me connect to my wifi. My router is a airport extreme. I have no idea what to do.

Just to note:
I have tried the homebutton/power button reset
I tried forget network, which let me type my password in but then just took me to the apple.com page
I reset network settings (settings>general>reset>reset network settings)
I am currently restoring from backup
If restoring from backup doesnt work ill restore without backup

So I don't download apps anymore!

After a LOT of searching through forums and trying a ton of different options, I finally found a solution.
I have Verizon FIOS and an ActionTec router. I disabled the IGMP Proxy in the advanced settings as suggested in another forum. This immediately resolved my issue.

Has anyone had these problems and know how to fix?
- Wifi is sometimes slow even when other devices on the network are fine.
- IPhone sometimes becomes unresponsive after receiving a text or email.

I can't even connect. I get the "password is incorrect" whether I set the AP as "WEP" or "WPA/WPA2" it doesn't work. If I turn off the encryption on the AP's it then works, but this means that the wifi is totally open... I've reset the network settings and still no luck. Busy resetting the phone completely.

Able to connect to wifi in IOS6

I Followed the steps below:
1: Go to settings - General
2. Select Mobile Data
3. Turned off Mobile Data and Enable 3G
4. Turned on Mobile Data
Joined the wifi network and I am able to use the wifi now. (Wifi now working with Enable 3G on)
Note: When the phone is locked sometimes phone goes back to 3G, but unlocking the phone immediately swithches to Wifi.
Hope this issue gets resolved for all

If you are having the issue where it takes you to a login page, goto Settings > WiFi and tap on the blue button to the right of your network name. There'll probably be an option to auto-join and you'll want to toggle that. If it's off, turn it on then back off. If it's on, toggle it off. If prompted to login again, just hit Cancel in the upper-right. Now goto Safari app and you should be prompted to connect to your network at which time it should work. It did for me at least and a friend of mine.
