No Wii Icon/picture Device?

I have the latest version of the EasyLink software installed.  All network devices (wired & wireless) are connecting fine and I’m running Windows XP Home.
I connected an X-box 360 console unit wirelessly and it created an icon/picture that looks like the Xbox console.  However, when I successfully connected a wireless Nintendo Wii console I did not get a Wii icon, but instead a joystick icon.  Is this correct?
Does the Wii have its own built in picture icon like the Xbox 360?
If so, how do I get the Wii icon to show in the network map?

Well, at least you got an icon of sorts!  I'm using Vista Ultimate (32 bit) and I can't even get the Wii to show up in LELA (Version 3.0 Build 8053.17).  Don't get me wrong, it connects to the router (WRT54G2) without any issues it's just it doesn't show up on the LELA interface which is a tad sad as everything else does, including both my statically assigned VoIP phones.
I wonder if anyone from support can shed light onto this?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • SCSM attaching email images as "Picture (Device Independent Bitmap)"

    Hi all.
Recently, more and more images from emails (screen prints of errors etc) are appearing on SCSM 2010 as "Picture (Device Independent Bitmap)" which cannot be opened in any of the normal Image software (Paint/MS Image and picture viewer etc).
It also seems to crash SCSM when people try to open/save these files.
Anyone have any ideas?  I can't see anywhere to specify how SCSM should treat images in e-mails and not sure what the cause is (normal environment of sender - XP/Outlook 2007 etc)
    Thanks
    Phil

    Hi Warren,
I have a real easy solution for you.
Zip the files and remove the .zip off the file name, then the firewalls won't strip the file out, or block the emails. Leave an instruction about putting the .zip extension back on in the email, and you're done.
I use this whenever I need to do what you're doing with good results.
    Cheers!

  • Can I see contact icons/pictures in iMessage on iPhone 5 running iOS 7?

Can I see my contact icons/pictures in iMessage on iPhone 5 running iOS 7? I know this is a stupid little thing, but all my previous Android phones would show the contact icons/pictures not only in the conversation but also in the list of iMessage threads. This was exceptionally helpful for me, as I am slightly dyslexic. It saved me several times from sending messages to the wrong person. Since I coordinate my entire job through my phone, I really miss this feature. If anyone knows of anyway to get this feature back please let me know.
    Thank you!!

The only time you can see the contact picture is in a group message, unfortunately.

  • How to I pick the Icon picture that will appear on my Movie?

I'm using IMovie 9.0 on a MacBook Pro. My question is once I create a movie how do I go about picking the icon picture that represent the movie. For example I created a movie for a florist and they loved it.
However they want the ending shot of their building to appear as the Icon picture for the movie.
How do I go about doing that?

You see that "Little Man" right. That's you. Tap that contact and change the photo.

  • How to see full HP icons in Devices and Printers Win 7?

THis post is long because I've included all of the clues for analysis, so please read it all the way through.
My HP printer devices - an OfficeJet Pro L7600 All-In-One and a DesignJet T120 - show the same behaviour. In Devices and Printers on my primary desktop PC, they appear and work correctly, but their icons are the default Windows printer icon. I want them to be the device-specific HP icons that I know exist.
The printers are connected over the network.
I have tried going into the properties of the printer by right-clicking the default icon, but there is no option to change the icon. I have tried dragging the icon out to the desktop, but this creates a new shortcut which, although I could change its icon (if I knew where to find it), I don't want a second route to the printer and, reading below, you'll see that it's not necessary.
I made the All-In-One available on a laptop. This instance of the driver appears in the D&P of my desktop machine as "HP L7600 on XXX-LAPTOP". The icon is not the default icon, but the correct icon - an anatomically correct picture of the All-In-One. So, the D&P window can see the full icon, but only from another machine.
Also, I have a Brother All-In-One for 11X17, also connected on the network. It shows the correct icon from Brother. Therefore, I interpret the problem as originating with an HP-specific bit of code.
How can I get the proper icons to display?

    Hello RexWave,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.
After reading your post I see that your Officejet Pro L7600 & DesignJet T120 icons do not display with the correct image of the printer but as a default printer icon. This is usually caused by the method the printers are installed. I can speak on behalf of the L7600 only as the DesignJet T120 is a Commercially supported printer. I would suggest you post that question there.
Regarding the Officejet Pro 17600 though you can remove the printer from Devices and Printers. Next you want to add the L7600 using the printer software installed on your computer:
    1. Start Menu and open All Programs.
    2. Look for and open the HP folder, here or within a folder named after the printer you will open Add a Device.
    3. Walk through steps on screen and when the printer is added successfully you should have the printer icon you are looking for.
    Thanks,
    JERENDS

  • Windows Folder icon instead of Officejet 6500a Plus E710n icon in Devices and Printers

Can anyone help me to get the OfficeJet 6500a Plus e710n printer icon to display properly in Devices and Printers?
I recently reinstalled Windows 8.1.  However, when I installed my printer, instead of the printer icon appearing in Devices and Printers I get a generic yellow Windows folder icon.  The Fax icon is OK, just the printer icon is wrong.
If I double click on the icon, I get a mostly blank page with a message near the top saying: "Updated information is available about your device.  Click here to download or learn more."  If I click on the notice, a dropdown menu appears with "Download updated information" or "Learn more".  If I choose downloaded update information, a new printer window appears which is mostly blank except for a message at the centre of the window which says, "No tasks are available on this page"  The Learn more option just gives me info about updating drivers.
The printer icon on the Start menu is fine.
I've used HP Print and Scan Doctor to uninstall and reinstall my printer but this hasn't helped.  The program found a problem with the printer driver and fixed it, but that hasn't changed the icon either.
I am running Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit fully up to date, and used the latest full version of the HP installation program for the printer (not the basic version) and HP Print and Scan Doctor v4.6.
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
Try following these steps and let me know if that may help:
From the control Panel select Network and internet and open the Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Change Advanced Sharing Center.
Ensure that Network Discovery is trned on but uncheck the box next to "Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices".
From devices and printer right click the printer and select Remove Device, repeat the for the Fax icon.
Note: if no such option exists for the printer follow the next steps.
Right click the background area and select Device Mahager.
Remove any instance of the printer from Imaging Devices, Printers, Print Queues, Multifunction Adaptors, Other Devices (if a such exists).
Once you are done the printer should no longer appear under Devices and Printers...
Open teh HP Officejet 6500 E710 software, select Connect a new Printer and check for any differnce.
    Hope that helps,
    Shlomi

  • I have a Airport Extreme that is dropping the wireless signal alot (several times a day). The green light will go amber but the internet service (ethernet cable) will still be fine. The wireless icon on devices with go away.

I have a Airport Extreme that is dropping the wireless signal alot (several times a day) The green light will go amber, but the internet service is still ok if your using an ethernet cable directly plugged in. When the light goes amber all devices that is using wireless will lose there wireless icon. The only way to get the green light back is to unplug the Airport device and replug it back in. I tried the reset on the back but still no luck. What is the fix?

Let's see if I can get this straight.
You have an Airport Extreme base station that is set to "Create a wireless network" and you have the box checked for "allow this network to be extended"....
Then you have an Airport Express that is set to "Extend a wireless network" which you selected the name of your network in the box...
    Correct?
    See this Apple document:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4259?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
The wireless unit on the right of the diagram can be either of the newer Apple base stations.
    Extreme, Express, Time Capsule

  • "No Name" drive Icon in "Devices" section. What is this?

During a work trip, a folder popped up on my desktop. "No Name" but with an icon below Macintosh HD and iDisk under "Devices".
It looks like it has people walking across the box, but I cannot see closely. It could be protractors too...
It will not eject as it says programs are using it. There is nothing in the file when opened.
I am nervous about a shared file on my mac via a hotel internet connection.
Anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it?
    Thank you

Restart holding shift for 20 seconds. This is the general method for any "in use" issue. As to what you have, I can't understand if you mean the drive icon in the Finder window sidebar is labeled "No name" or if the folder on the desktop is labeled "No name". Also, try this:
-- Select (single-click) the folder on the desktop.
-- Get Info (command plus the I key).
-- Is it a folder or a disk?
OS X always assigns the label "No name" to any disk that was formatted without a label and no label was applied later.

  • Change fingerprint login icon/picture - Windows 7

    Hello all-
I've got a fairly new T440s for which I've set up fingerpringt reading. I was wondering if there'd be an (easy) way to change the picture displayed on the welcome/login screen. I'm not talking about the background, but the icon in the middle that is currently a picture of a fingerprint.
I looked around at other threads and they either referred to editing .dll files (above my head a bit) or some picture in "C:\Program Files\ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software" which is not a directory on my machine. I'm running the latest version of Lenovo Fingerprint Manager Pro, and nothing in the Fingerprint Manager Pro program files looked persipacious.
Any tips would be appreciated. Many thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's not possible on T440s.  The other threads you read were about the fingerprint software for older systems (T430s and earlier) which was different.  On T440s, it's just using the Windows built-in fingerprint credential provider.  If you were to hack the built-in OS files, it would invalidate the signature of the file and the fingerprint option probably wouldn't load at that point.  So in summary - that graphic is simply not designed to be changed, changing it requires hacking which would probably break things.

  • Where are link icon pictures located? I'd like to back them up.

I bookmarked a lot of sites in my favorites folder. Each of the links in there has a little picture given to it by that website.
Whenever I uninstall Firefox and then later install a new version, all those bookmarked links lose the icons. The only way is to go to each site to recreate them but it's very time consuming.
Is there a way to make a backup of this?
I'm pretty sure it's not the file prefs.js because I tried it before and it didn't restore the link icons.
