No Windows 7 drivers avalible for 2011 macbook pro 15" (snow leopard 10.6.8) ?
Im hoping that you guys could help me with this one. I've run into a brick wall.
Trying to use boot camp to partition the hdd install a windows 7 x64, it seems impossible to get ahold of the drivers i need in windows.
The boot camp assistant splashes me with a option to download drivers, but states after some time "that there are no avalible drivers for your system."
Im lacking the original installation dvd, but found a dvd that is for a macbook pro 13". That helped me with everything but the keyboard and multitouchpad.
The functions that im lacking right now that i have found out is that the touchpad wont accept right clicks, no scrolling and no gestures, also the keyboard isnt lit up, and no functionkeys work. (like screen brightness, volume and cd/dvd eject key)
Im guessing that there also might be some other drivers thats missing, like the possibility to explore the osx disk from windows to share documents between the two operating systems.
Are there any other ways to get ahold of these drivers that i need without buying a dvd?

Please pardon the obvious here, but have you checked to make sure that you have enabled the File Sharing option on both computers? You may have already done this, but your post did not mention this, so we can only go with the info that we have.
If you have not enabled File Sharing, I can't help on Windows, but on your Mac...
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
Open Sharing
Enter a check mark next to File Sharing
I imagine that there is a similar setting for the Windows machine
It would be a good idea to power cycle your entire network as well to make sure that the network is sequenced correctly. Power everything down, order is not important.
Start your modem first and let it run a moment by itself
Then start your main router the same way
Continue starting each device the same way until everything is powered back up -

I'm opening like Skype, AIM, Chrome the Memory Hog, Adobe Photshop and Illustrator... Its so slow! I tried Onyx, CleanMyMac, iFreeMemory or just purging but still i still have to restart to get it back to normal after closing all the applications... im not really impressed with the memory swapping thing,Even though my inactive RAM is like 2GB its so SloW! Anyone knows how to fix this problem?It's hard to say why your machine is slow, but that machine with 8 GB of RAM should not be slow. Could be any number of possible problems. Try taking a look at the Mac OS X Speed FAQ.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro this summer and was all excited. But I'm very frustrated right now because I can't connect to any external monitors through VGA. My thunderbolt (DisplayPort Mini) to HDMI works just fine, but when I try with my other connector to go from Thunderbolt (DisplayPort Mini) to VGA, Nothing works. my screen goes blue and changes size like it recognized something but nothing is ever detected on the external moniter or projector. I'm not sure what is wrong but it's very frustrating. I'm just very depressed that it worked just fine with my 2-year-old MacBook Pro but isn't working now. I'm running OS X 10.8.2. I just upgraded yesterday from 10.8.1 but that upgrade did nothing to fix my problem. Can anyone help? Thanks
I am haveing this exact same issue. I have plugging in 3 monitors and tried two different VGA to mini displayport and nothing is working. I recently bought a Acer monitor and it work for an hour and now it back to doing the same thing.
When I plug the VGA adapter in to the monitor the monitor think its not connected to a computer then when disconnecting the VGA adapter the monitor thinks it is connected to a computer.
NEED SOME HELP!!! at the point of all my hair is pulled out.

Which is the Best wireless card for the MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard?
I have the Option GT Ultra Express on AT&T, but ever since I upgraded to snow leopard every update has been messing it up and I'm more than done with this card, Ill even switch carriers if I have to, what cards are the best to use? and who has been having the best performance with theirs?
I guess I should also add that I'm in New York, reception would be an issue too, I get between 2 and 3 bars at my desk and would like to stay with that.

if so, the only difference between that and the dongle that I described is that the dongle uses the USB instead of ExpressCard format.
I'm sorry if I misunderstood.
It would also help if you could describe the exact nature of the problem. There are topics here that address Option brand drivers issues with links to updated drivers that are supposed to work with SL.
Without more info, I'm afraid I can't suggest much else.

Boot Camp Driver Issues Late 2011 MacBook Pro w Snow Leopard.
Okay I've installed Windows 7 via Boot Camp. I usually do not have an issue with this as I've done this in the past.
Problems
Many devices under Device Manager show they are not installed
Try to install drivers from Snow Leopared DVD, no luck
Updated Boot Camp to 3.2 still no luck
It seems the drivers just wont work for some reason. They install for a split second then they say the device is ready but its not.
This MacBook came pre installed with Lion. I reverted it to Snow instead, since I'm an editor and Lion has issues. Can someone help me figure a way to get the drivers to install?

Where can I get Window's software for my Macbook Pro? I'm trying to run ARCview. However, it requires Windows. I'm trying Bootcamp. but, it isn't recognising the disk that I currently have.
Maybe because it's not a 'genuine' retail version? Many OEM versions just don't work - and I've no idea which flavor of Win7 your friend downloaded. Obviously one that Boot Camp doesn't recognize. Best to just pony up the cash for a full retail version, of some flavor - and use it. You COULD, of course, download the 14-day trial version of Parallels Desktop and see if you can install Win7 as a virtual machine... it might or might not work. Boot Camp just isn't finding the resources it needs on the copy you have - try Parallels and if that doesn't work just purchase a retail (or student discounted) version.

I'm using a macbook pro, running snow leopard. Yesterday I got around to emptying my trash for the first time in quite awhile and was surprised by how much there seemed to be in there. Immediately after a question mark symbol appeared on all my hard disk folders. If I click on these question marks I get a message saying ' the item can't be found'.

Not sure where these hard disk folders are located that you are referring to? Finder, Finder tool bar, Finder side bar, Desktop, Dock?
More then likely they are an alias that not longer point to the orginals, thus the question mark.
I would reboot. Delete icons if an alias and just recreate by dragging from the source. Try right click (control) click to remove. -

I have a new l7 Macbook Pro running snow leopard. When I tried to to install windows 7 32 bit on bootcamp, I kept getting a flicking black and blue screen when it tried to install. (Tried several times). I finally downloaded the bootcamp windows support to a flash. I inserted that and finally got it installed. Now when I try to boot into windows I get either a solid black (sometimes blue) or flickering screen and windows will not start up. If I then physically shut down the mac and restart, it will finally boot into windows where it tells me that windows was shut down unexpectently and once I click start windows normally, it will boot up. That will generally let me boot into windows for the remaining of the day. The next day, the same thing happens again. I have tried reinstalling several times, and the same thing keeps happening. It is not my windows disk because it installs flawlessly on the mid 2008 macbook pro. Anyone know how to fix this?
I own HDM 2011. But they have products that aren't listed or hard to find too.

Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard, Win 7 & Ubuntu, can't upgrade to Lion
I have new 13" macbook pro with Snow Leopard on it. With a combination of boot camp and some disc partitioning trickery, I got windows 7 and ubuntu on it as well. Furthermore I also have a shared data (fat32) partition on the machine (so 4 main partitions - win,mac,linux,shared - plus swap partition, efi, etc).
I just download Lion and I'm trying to start the installer, but when it asks me which partition I want to install it on, all options are greyed out and the Macintosh HD partition says somethign to the effect of "this disc cannot be used to start the computer". Is there any way for me to get lion installed without having to erase all my extra partitions and start this whole agonizing process over again?You may be out of luck without formatting your HDD. See this article from Macworld:
(At least Recovery HD should be created. In our testing, it appears this special partition is created only when you install Lion onto an internal drive formatted with a GUID partition scheme. In addition, that internal drive must initially have only a single partition; or be a multi-partition drive that was partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant and not further modified afterwards. So not everyone will get this useful feature. Apple has confirmed some of these restrictions.)

I recently updated my old '04 macbook pro to snow leopard 10.6.8, when I went to open an old word doc., it opened with iwork and will not allow me to print until I update to iwork'08. Do I have to update? If I do, is this an update or do I have to purchase iwork? 2. Can I update my old '04 macbook pro to Lion or Mountain Lion or is this too much? Try resetting your SMC and NVRAM before attempting to install again.

Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Turn on the computer by pressing the Power Button.
On the built-in keyboard, press and hold the Command (⌘), Option (⌥), P, and R keys before the gray screen appears.
Continue to hold down the keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup chime for the second time.
Release the keys on the built-in keyboard.

I have a macbook pro running snow leopard. Just recently I cannot view youtube videos and other online videos. I recently updated my flashplayer plugin and I believe that is the problem. Is the latest flashplayer plugin compatible with 10.6.8? If this is so, I need to find an older flash player plugin to reinstall. I do not want to upgrade from 10.6.8 at this time because I have 18 yrs. worth of financial records on Quicken that I have read will not work with Lion and I've read bad things about running music programs on Maverick.

1) Quicken 2007 for Intel (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks) is a full featured app that can be downloaded from Intuit for $15 and will work with your data file if you are using Quicken 2005, 2006 or 2007 (if you version is earlier, let me know for more instructions on easy conversion):

I have a mid 2010 Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard and foolishly upgraded to Yosemite. Now have numerous problems. Is it possible to go back in time with Time Machine and reinstall Snow Leopard? Then upgrade to Lion or Mavericks? Any other ideas on how I can exit Yosemite?
Once you get yourself back to Snow Leopard, if you still want to upgrade somewhat, I would suggest the following:
1. Get an external hard drive that you can use for experiments with new OS versions. You could partition it into 2 or 3 partitions. You could then clone your existing Snow Leopard system to one partition using Carbon Copy Cloner (well worth $40) or SuperDuper ($25).
2. Buy OS X Mountain Lion for $20, through the Apple online store (I don't think it's available through the App Store). Apple has decided to make it very difficult for anyone to get Mavericks unless they have already downloaded it.
You will receive two e-mails from Apple, one containing a PDF with a redemption code, and one with the password you will need to unlock the PDF. Using the code, you will download Mountain Lion from the App Store, where it will appear among your Purchased items.
After ML finishes downloading, its installer app will launch itself. When you see this launch screen, QUIT the install app immediately! Go to your applications folder, find the Install OS X Mountain Lion app, and copy it to a safe location outside of your Applications folder. Keeping one or more copies will allow you to reinstall without unnecessary aggravation if you later need or want to do that. At this point, you can re-launch the Installer in the Applications folder and let it run. You can install it on a clean partition on your external HD, or you can allow it to upgrade the Snow Leopard clone you created on your external drive, or you can do both. This should allow you to test how everything works for as long as you like.
3. If you left yourself a free partition on your test drive, try a clean install of Yosemite and set everything up from scratch (do not migrate anything). This will allow you to see whether your problems with it were related to something in your Snow Leopard system.
