  • Can no longer find Audition 3.0 Windows Sound

I have been using Audition 3.0 for quite some time. I use ASIO4all v2 audio driver most of the time and on occasion when I need to have more than one stream of audio at the same time recording something playing from the web) I switch to the Audition 3.0 Windows sound driver for direct sound. For some reason it (Audition 3.0 Windows sound) dissapeared from the driver selection box under audio hardware setup. According to device manager the sound card drivers are all installed and working properly. If I uninstall the ASIO driver and try to restart Audition, it says that it cannot find an audio device. When Audition is closed my system is running the realtek sound card driver and not the ASIO4all v2. For some reason it appears that audition cannot see the stock driver. Everything else on my system seems to be running normally.
Any advice on what to do would be appreciated as I have a lot of custom presets, so I would not like to uninstall and reinstall unless absolutely necessary.
    Thanks!

If you go to the uninstaller, you'll find that there's a 'repair' option that does pretty much what it says on the tin. If you are running the 3.0.1 patch, you may have to re-run it afterwards - probably best to do this anyway. If you haven't installed the patch, then you should!

  • System(Windows) sound is quiet

I have a dv6-1355dx and until a few days, the sound was just fine.  For some odd reason, now the Windows system sounds have gotten quieter.  I checked all of the sound settings and everything is on high volume.  Even other video/audio clips are as loud as it should be, but the Windows sounds just seemed to be muffled.  I've installed newer drivers, reinstalled the original driver and nothing makes it different
Does anyone have any clue as to what could be the cause?

    - Go to Settings>Music and see if volume limit is turned on.
    - Try resetting your iPod.  Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
-Try fully inserting and then pulling out the headphone plug about five to ten times.
    - Restore the iPod.  First from backup and if problems persist. restore to factory defaults.
    - If still problems. I wold make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Solaris 8 Intel scan hangs on Windows Sound System Compatable

I am trying to install Solaris on a Anigma Pentium II motherboard with integrated AGP/Audio/DVD, plextor CDRW, 40 gig maxtor ide hd new, unpartioned.....
when the sytem scans it keeps hanging on either "Windows Sound System Compatable" or "ADS Sound Blaster....I do not have a soundblaster card in this machine, it is on board sound......
cous anyone please point me in the right direction......I am new to Solaris, please help me get this installed.....
    thanks, michael

    Just an idea:
After installing the latest kernel + usb patches a system built around
an ASUS P2B showed similar behaviour: Soon after the screen is
cleared during the boot sequence the machine hung. Before installing
these patches the machine was running without problem.
The problem was a disabled USB IRQ in the bios setup. The system has
no USB peripherals connected, so the USB IRQ was disabled in the
    BIOS (in an
attempt to free some IRQs - which is actually nonsense in a PCI
system; some old habit from good old ISA PCs). Re-enabling the
USB IRQ in the BIOS fixed the solaris boot problem. Probably the
solaris 8 USB drivers had detected the USB bus and started scanning
for devices there; and that hung the machine due to non working USB controller IRQs.

  • IDT Audio ((((Missing Enhancements Tab )))) in Windows Sound Speaker Properties

    I have owned a HP Pavilion G4 2129TX  core i7 3632QM windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
last week, my computer crashed in a big way so I reinstalled Windows 7. I figured out all of my drivers and my Sound Works fine. The only problem is that I no longer have access to the   Enhancements Tab in my Windows Sound...
now my speaker seems too low in terms of sound not like as before.. my IDT driver is already updated but nothing changes. ..Any help to get it back would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Whether you have an enhancement tab in the Sound properties window depends on the particular audio driver loaded - some give this option and some don't.
    Try the following.
First of all, uninstall your current IDT driver from its entry in Programs and Features and when done, restart the notebook.
When windows has fully reloaded, download and install the version on the following link.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55501-56000/sp55977.exe
When the installation has completed, restart the notebook again before checking if the enhancements tab is now available.

  • ITunes disables my Windows sounds and takes away the volume control

I have searched and found no answer to this- others have posted this same question.
I installed itunes and it removed my volume control from the task bar. It disabled my Windows sounds and took away the volume control from the System Tray next to clock. My media buttons no longer affect the volume either. I have to go into control panel to change my system volume.
At first- it only happened when my daughter would plug in her iPod and use iTunes, and then after we'd reboot the computer, the volume control would come back and no longer be disabled. Each time she used iTunes, it would happen again. Then a computer restart would bring it back. Now all of a sudden, nothing brings it back. I have to go about 4-5 screens deep into Control Panel to adjust the volume there. This is ridiculous and an absolutely unacceptable side effect of iTunes.
Does someone have an answer or do we need to delete iTunes and never again buy a crappy apple product?
    Message was edited by: sjs.chowchow

    Figured it out!
Go to Control Panel -> Sound
In the “Playback” tab, click on your Speakers to highlight it, then click Properties. In the “Advanced” tab, under “Exclusive Mode”, uncheck the box that says “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device”. I restarted my computer after that, but I am not sure if you need to.
Then you can go to your taskbar and right-click and choose “Properties”. In the “Notification Area” tab, under System icons, “Volume” is no longer grayed out and you can now check the box to make it show up down near your clock again.

  • Invoke windows sound recorder in host machine by flex application

    Hi
I have a flex application which provides option to invoke
windows sound recorder in client machine. User provides path of
windows sound recorder exe file and using 'navigateToURL('path of
recorder given by user)' method i plan to invoke the recorder in
    client machine.
While executing this code in flex builder it runs properly
and invokes recorder. Then i deployed the flex application in a
server and requested using internet explorer. But this time it does
not invoke recorder. The error messge it displayed is gi ven below
    SecurityError: Error #2148: SWF file
    http://localhost:8080/flex/bin/DEVM.swf
cannot access local resource C:\WINNT\system32\sndrec32.exe. Only
local-with-filesystem and trusted local SWF files may access local
    resources.
    at global/flash.net::navigateToURL()
I think it is a security issue of sand boxes. Anyway i tried
to make the directory where exe file is kept (ie. system32) as a
trusted location using 'Global security settings panel'. But that
also did not solve the problem. I think only swf files, not any
other files, in the trusted local directories can be accessed by
the remote flex application. Is it right ???
Anyway i dont wish to keep any swf file under
    'local-with-filesystem' sandbox in client machine.
Can anybody please help me to resolve this issue please ....

    Hi,
The problem is I am not able to connect to database (11i/R12) from host machine. I am successfully able to run the application from host machine after putting entry in "hosts" file. What is the error?
To connect to database I have installed Oracle 9i client on host machine and put the entry in TNSNAMES.ORA generated by 11i/R12, but even doing so I am not able to connect to database. Are you able to tnsping the entry? If not, what is the error?
Please make sure you also follow the steps in (Note 291897.1 - 11.5.10 New Features : Managed SQL*Net Access from Hosts).
Is there any way I can connect to database (Installed on VMWARE) from HOST Machine.Post the error you get when you connect to the database remotely as well as the output of tnsping command.

  • Audigy2 ZS Pro Platinum - Windows sound scheme, wav fi

Installed Audigy2 ZS Pro Platinum card. Windows sound scheme no longer works nor does a timer program I use that plays WAV files to signal alarm. Control Panel "Sounds and Audio" shows individual sounds greyed out.
Windows Media Player will play the wav files thorough the player however. I see this problem without a solution in other places in the forum - maybe someone knows now??Thomas?

    tbradnc,
In Control Panel, under Administrati've Tools, Services, make sure that Windows Audio is started and set to automatic.

  • Audigy 2 ZS - no sound, no vol ctrl, no "windows sounds" --Fixe

Ive tested the card in another system. The card worked a couple weeks ago fine, then I had to RMA my video card and so didnt use the system for awhile.. now that Ive reinstalled the video card.. no sound.
    OS is XP Pro SP2.
Ive followed the "clean sweep install" procedures to the letter in the creative knowledgebase..
Ive installed the latest drivers for my card, downloaded them last night from the site..
I have no sound, though if I open the volume control through the Control Panel I can hear the level of faint background hiss go up n down if I raise and lower the volume.. In Sounds and Audio Devices, Show Volume Control in Taskbar is selected.. but theres no Volume Control in the system tray. The weird bit is, if I go to the Windows Sounds tab, the little play arrow at the bottom that would let me listen to the sample sounds is greyed out..
Device Manager tells me the Audigy WDM driver is operating ok..
    suggestions please?
    thanks,

In case someone ends up with the same problem I did.. and doesnt want to waste 5 hours hunting for the answer like I did..
This relates directly to no volume control appearing (despite turning the option on-off-on in Sounds and Audio Devices) and having --no windows noises-- ..

  • Problems loading generic Windows sound driver/Envy 14t-1000

Info: HP Envy 14t-1000 CTO, Windows 7 (updated to latest SP).
So, I recently tried updating my video drivers and unfortunately it messed with my audio settings (normally I'd do a system restore, but for whatever reason I forgot to create a restore point before updating...). At this point, I suspect that I accidentally re-installed the IDT High Definition Audio Codec, which leads me to my issue - I've been trying to uninstall Beats audio (and the IDT codec)  and use the generic audio driver that comes with Windows, and have followed the instructions listed here:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/REMOVE-BEATS-AUDIO-LOAD-GENERIC-SOUND-DRIVE...
However, no matter what directions I follow, after rebooting, the IDT codec reinstalls (that is, even after unchecking IDT Audio from the list of start-up programs and uninstalling the codec in device manager) instead of the generic Windows sound driver and IDT Audio is back in the list of start-up programs; the result is that I'm still getting the same rubbish sound. Is there a solution to this? I'm assuming that there is in fact a generic audio driver that I can revert to?
    Many thanks.

    Hi @frran ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 14t-1000 CTO Notebook and having issues with the sound. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with uninstalling any software and drivers on your system that were originally installed.
Here is a document that has troubleshooting for the sound. There could be an update for the BIOS. That might be needed.
You could try this fix as it has helped with the Beats Audio.
    1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.
    2. Click Playback Devices.
    3. Click Speakers.
    4. Click properties.
    5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.
    6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality.
    7. Apply the properties.
    8. Click OK to close the properties window.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • What is the URL for Windows Sound Recorder and is I compatible with podcast

I have recorded a podcast on Sound Recorder on Windows XP and i want to know how i can find the URL and if it is Podcast compatible. It is a wave audio file. Can you guys please, please help me!!!????
    W4065 Emachines   Windows XP

A recording you made in Windows Sound Recorder, until you do something else with it, is NOT on the Internet and has no URL at all.
.Wav files are not suitable for direct use as podcast episodes as they tend to be uncompressed which makes them shockingly huge to download. You'll want to convert it to mp3 format to make it sensible for sharing.
You'll then need to either upload it to a managed podcasting service, or post it on your own blog, or any of the other normal ways of doing the "podcasting" step of podcasting. There's plenty of howtos and walkthroughs on various ways of doing this.

  • No Windows Sounds, MP3 Players Work

#No Windows Sounds, MP3 Players Work? I installed a new CPU and motherboard in my computer without reinstalling Windows. It went from AMD Athlon X2 to Phenom II. There was a lot of device shuffling after booting up after the hardware change, but every device works, even my X-Fi Platinum, except I get no MIDI, no Windows sounds, but Foobar 2000 plays MP3s fine through ASIO but not DirectSound. I also get sound in Doom 3, Quake 3 and Crysis but not Warcraft 3 or World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft doesn't even acknowledge that I have any sound devices installed, and can't get it to play any sound at all when both the X-Fi and onboard sound are enabled. My onboard audio works just fine otherwise. I haven't tried World of Warcraft with just onboard sound. My goal here is to not be forced to reinstall Windows
    I've done the following:
    - Reseat the card
    - Uninstall/Reinstall the drivers
    - Enable onboard audio in hopes that it attempts to fix the mixer issue
    - Stop/start Windows Audio service
    - Even scoured Google in hopes to find a solution, and the ones I found ("Install this registry entry!") don't work
This machine's running Windows 2003 (don't ask, just go with it).

Aye, they do, but you can (usually) fix problems without a reinstall. I consider myself very good with this kinda thing but this is one of the more difficult ones to fix. I've had this installation for near 4 years now and ****it, I'm not reinstalling until Windows 7 is retail (runs very good, btw). And I should make a correction, I can get MIDI.Message Edited by Mystiq on 0-7-2009 06:43 AM
