No wired adapter found

Can anyone shed some light on how to fix this issue? I just built this desktop and am attempting to get the internet up. Right now, it's running on a USB wireless adapter, but it drops the connection every few minutes. I'm running Vista too. Anybody have some insight on how I can resolve this? Ethernet cables are plugged in, router is transferring data, but my computer isn't reading it or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have installed the drivers for your wired network adapter, make sure Local Area Connection is Enabled once the adapter drivers are installed...
However, what is the model number of the Router and the wireless USB Adapter ?
Is there any ethernet light on the Ethernet port of the router when the computer is hard wired to the router ?

  • Thinkpad T510 Windows 7 No wireless adapter found & device manager network adapters exclamations

    Lenovo owners,
I was wondering if you could help.
I’m having issues with my laptop(Lenovo thinkpad T510) all of a sudden and cannot pinpoint a solution and it seems my laptop is getting progressively slower.
One day upon startup I could not obtain a network connection either wirelessly or even while connected. (I’ve never had a problem & even earlier that day , and even turned it on later that evening and had no problem, and now these issues are back.)  I searched for connections and received a ‘no wireless adapter found’. I checked my device manager and noticed the yellow exclamation point next to all under network connections. When clicking on the driver the message ‘This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.’
I tried updating the driver under driver tab, but to no avail, or I have the most current.
I’ve searched Lenovo forums stating to uninstall drivers and install but many people still have the same issue.
Does this sound like manufacturer issue or virus type relation?
Now my laptop seems to running slower and slower upon startup and shutdown.
Anyway anybody can help would be appreciated. I’m starting to get backlogged on work.
& Yes, the switch on the side of my laptop is turned on

Free AVG and Malwarebytes yep. Ive performed scans on both and no threats detected.Diagnostics results shown below. States exactly what Device Manager did and once i try to reinstall driver I get the Device status code 31 window(shown on the right). I've tried reinstalling drivers and restarting but no change in status. The only thing that happened since i that happened when i shut down my working laptop and when i turned it on and ran into these issues were Windows Updates upon shutdown. Any chance a wacky update could wreck havoc on all my drivers?

  • No WiFi adapter found after windows 10 upgrade

Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 but after the upgradation the WiFi does not works. There was no WiFi adapter found and the same goes for Bluetooth. Please assist from where can these drivers be downloaded

I had no wireless after updating my Pavilion DM4 3002ea to Windows 10 Home 64bit. None of the solutions on here worked for me but I stumbled across the solution when I'd given up and decided to re-install Windows 7. I think the problem arises when you instal Windows 10 without the wireless adapter being switched on so ...  1. Set the BIOS to boot from CD/DVD first2. Boot from Windows installation DVD and once it loads to the installation screen I found I could switch the wireless adapter on.3. Once the wireless adapter is switched on remove the Windows installation DVD from the drive and boot as normal to Windows 10 and "hopefully" you will be able to switch off Flight mode and input your wireless network details

Essentially all the drivers and utilities at that site need to be installed for the laptop to operate as designed - and the order matters. You can stuggle with that if you have the time. I don't and would restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media.
If you failed to create recovery media, obtain it from Toshiba. Scroll down to Get Recovery Media here

  • SRFC-adapter  and file adapter with error: no adapter found

    Hello,
we have two scenarios here in an XI 3.0 SP12:
First scenario connects two R/3 systems via RFC adapter (outbound / inbound) for an RFC in a standard R/3 function module SUSR_ZBV_GET_REMOTE_PROFILES.
    The RFC is synchronous.
Second scenario uses file adapter to send file from A to B.
When starting the RFC call from the sender system the error message in area "call adapter" for XML message in the trace is "exception while reading from SLD:Property sap_xiadapterservice.adapterType does not exist".
    Message in RWB:
"Transmitting the message using connection http://abc038.ceu.test.com:8077/sap/xi/engine?type=entry failed, due to: XIServer:AE_DETAILS_GET_ERROR:Property sap_xiadapterservice.adapterType does not: Unable to find any Adapter Engines."
    Same problem for file adapter!
Here is the message from the file adapter error log entry in SXMB_MONI:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Call Adapter
      -->
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">

      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
Looks like an identical problem for both adapter.
What we have done (checked) so far:
    - SLD connection is working
    - Vis.Admin.: no problems found
(SAP RFC adapter active, file adapter active)
    - Component monitoring: no errors, adapters are fine
    - all rfc connections checked: ok
    - have checked user and pwd and replaced to be sure
    - cache refresh: ok
    - reimport of SWCV to IR for RFC: done, no result
Does anybody have an idea, how to get rid of that?
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hello Udo,
in Adapter monitoring all adapters are listed and per adapter (here RFC and FILE) all adapter entries from the scenarios are available (sender / receiver comm. channel entries - in green)!
Pipeline URL in SLD Bus. Syst. is fine ( and an IDOC adapter scenario is running successfully) !
I think this is a really tricky one!
    Best regards

  • MiniDVI to HDMI adapter FOUND

    all,
I found this adapter so that i can enjoy my mac book movies on my plasma. However before I buy, i want to know anyone has experienced in using this product or any other similar product.
*Product Name* - Kanex™ Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834997552
    http://www.ibtimes.com/prnews/20090406/kanex-153-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-adapte r-for-apple-now-available.htm
My intention is to have single cable from my mac to plasma which gives both audio and video.
    My questions are:
1> As mentioned in above IBTIMES url, how do i know whether my mac book outputs audio as well as video through mini-dvi port so that I can buy this KANEX product?
2> Do you have any suggestions to have single cable to achieve botha udio and video?
    Thanks in advance
    SK

You can, but you need to make sure that the cable you buy has a mini jack on one end and a regular toslink connector on the other end. These are probably not going to be readily available at your local Radio Shack or whatever (or maybe I am wrong.. don't know).
Have a look at this cable. It is a standard toslink cable, but comes with an adapter to turn one end into a mini jack so that it can plug into your mac.

  • Satellite R630 - No wireless adapter found

    Hi
I got the Satellite R630 just last week and installed firstly the included windows seven.
After getting used to the system (I'm usually on Linux) I recognised, that there was no wireless lan connection available and no possibility to start the wireless lan.
I've read, that the shortcut FN+F8 the wireless connections starts, so in my case it is the bluetooth and the wireless lan, but every time I pressed these just the bluetooth would start.
Than I looked up in the hardware manager and under networks (or something like that) was just the lan-adapter listed, so I than looked up in the systeminformations, where under components the wl-adapter is listed.
There it is listed as Atheros AR9285, and it also is written there, that the drivers are installed and the adapter could be used.
But why can't I just switch it on? And why is it, that the adapter is not listed in the hardware manager?
    Anyone up with a solution?

    I have R630-11L with a Broadcom Card.
I have had different problem witht the laptop not being able to connect to my Router. I finally was able to solve the problem and during this process, I had to install / uninstall the driver for the Broadcom several times. Thus, I hope my experience below will help you out.
1- When I unistalled the driver for the Broadcom, the bluetooth seems not to get affected by the process. Ethernet cable works as well.
2- According to Broadcom website, it is better to uninstall from Add/Remove programs, and not from Device Manager
3- Installing as an administrator seems to solve more problems, but maybe I'm mistaken on that
4- The driver can only be downloaded from Toshiba Website (U can usee the software that came with your laptop to access the driver update pages). The driver can not be found on Broadcom webpage
    Now here's the bad part:
If you re-install on an existing driver, the driver wil work fine. However, if you completely remove the driver and have a fresh installation, the wireless network card will appear grayed out and disabled. Trying to enable always fails despite a false message saying it is enabled. I have all what I know to enable it, but didn't work out.
Bottom line, I was not able to run the wireless network card by fresh installation of the driver.
    I couldn't figure out why.
I had to restore my system to a working point using System Restore and in Safe Mode.
Luckily I was able to solve my connection problem by tweaking some settings. However, I hope I don't face the problem of dealing with the driver again as it was not a pleasant experience.
My suggestion is to see a Toshiba Technician for proper setting / installation.
    Thank You and Good Luck.

    Hi Rajendra,
Thanks for the response. I had gone through the notes which says portal version prerequisites are SP 29 and above . Also ui had gone throught one more "1549377" note which again says prerequisites Portal 7.0.1 with SP8.
My consumer portal is 7.0.1 with SP 7 and producer is 7.3 version . Is the portal version and SP level is creating the issue?

  • No Wireless Adapter Found in Vista on MacBook Pro with Boot Camp

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro for which I recently installed Boot Camp. After installing Boot Camp 2.0 as well as after updating to Boot Camp 2.1, while all other drivers appear to have installed fine, Windows Vista (64) does not detect a wireless adapter.
Is there a specific driver I can download and install?

A better place to ask your question would probably be the Boot Camp forum.

  • No network adapter found on install

I have just purchased a Linksys WRT160N router and the first task of loading the program on my main computer has already hit a snag. It says it cannot find a network adapter on my computer and that I need to enable it. My adapter is functioning as I'm on the net right now with my internet cable plugged directly ito my computer. My old router (Netgear) had no issue with the network adapter either. Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you are using the setup disk, throw it away, it does not work. Connect via wire to your router and go to 192.168.1.1 with username blank, password admin and configure your router manually.

  • Looking for a way to determine wich Network adapters are truly Wired ethernet.

I'm Working on a little app that is going to validate that the machine is connected to a wired network before we allow it to start a re-installation of the operating system. Our wireless net works great for installed systems (they do have a machine certificate)
but we cannot install on it (since the machine must be domain joined to get that cert)
So far I have not found any method that truly tells if the card is a wired network adapter.
Win32_NetworkAdapter:s AdapterTypeID does not work since many wireless adapters report type=0 wich should be wired adapters.
MSNdis_PhysicalMediumType does not work. It returns undefined for a number of adapters
Many posts on the net talks about detecting the connection state wich doesn't work either since it will return the same value for a connected wired adapter and a connected wireless adapter
Other posts suggests using powershell and looking at tha dapter name. That doesn't work if you
got to support a number of languages and what happends if a user renames the interface?
The only way I can make it sort of work is to pipe the output from netsh LAN show interfaces and then do queries on those adapters but I would prefer a soloution in Code.
Since Netsh can do it, there must be a way to do this

The reason for the C code not running under WinPE was user error ........
    Forgot to link it static.
I have been digging around some more and so far the only API that will give us the correct and complete picture seems to be GetIfEntry2, however I can't find dotnet code for it.
It seems like most other methods uses the older GetIfEntry under the hood and that will not give us the true data since many types will report as NDisPhysicalMediumType 0.
However a combination of Win32_network adapter and MSNdis_PhysicalMediumType actually seems to work.
Win32_network filtered on AdapterType='Ethernet 802.3' gives us everything that claims to be an ethernetadapter. That list will however include wireless, bluetooth and some virtual adapters.
MSNdis_PhysicalMediumType filtered on NDisPhysicalMediumType 0 does not show Wireless or Bluetooth but will instead show isatap interfaces and so on.
The Key was to "join" these two on win32_networkadapter.Name to MSNdis_PhysicalMediumType.Instancename giving us the possibility to filter out the unwanted adapters using both methods.
I have made a demoscript that became embarrassing short
    '* ListPhysicalAdapters.vbs
'* Purpose : A script to list the true Physical Ethernet adapers.
    '* Created : 2005-02-17

    Dim objNetworkAdapter,objPhysicalMediumType

    Set colItems_Win32_NetworkAdapter = GetObject("winmgmts:\\.\root\cimv2").ExecQuery("Select * from Win32_NetworkAdapter where AdapterType='Ethernet 802.3'",,48)
    For Each objNetworkAdapter in colItems_Win32_NetworkAdapter
' Select the adapters that claimed to be Ethernet Adapters above and filter out the ones who doesn't have an Ethernet Connector (type=0 is used for fallback/undefined)
      Set Colitems_MSNdis_PhysicalMediumType = GetObject("winmgmts:\\.\root\WMI").ExecQuery("SELECT * FROM MSNdis_PhysicalMediumType where InstanceName='" & objNetworkAdapter.Name & "' AND (NdisPhysicalMediumType=0 OR NdisPhysicalMediumType=14)",,0)
      For Each objPhysicalMediumType in Colitems_MSNdis_PhysicalMediumType
