No Wireless signal After LCD Replacement on My iBook G4

My iBook G4 had a broken screen so I bought the LCD display and replaced the screen. But now my Airport gets no signal. I know I didn't break anything on the card nor the antenna. Any ideas???

I had the hard drive replaced on my iBook and Airport stopped working. Turns out they needed to remove the Airport card to get at the hard drive, and forgot to plug the airport card back in. Opened the case, plugged it back in and it works like a charm.

A friend dropped his phone quite badly and required a lcd replacement, after swapping it over, when I power it back up it just constantly flickers? Like its trying to power on. There is life in the battery.

Weak Wireless Signal After Power Outage - Anyone else??

We had a storm Sunday 7/25 and lost power, now my Verizon Fios router's wireless signal is extremely weak and I can't connect to it unless I'm in the same room with the router. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've had no luck with troubleshooting tools and calling Verizon (why are they so confused and lost all the time). The wireless adapter works fine, but the signal is so weak it can't be connected to. HELP!!

I had EXACTLY the same problem, and I am in Maryland (same storm, I bet). I just cured the slowness. Here's how.
The instructions on the Verizon website for rebooting your router do not include "Unscrew the coaxial cable." You have to do that, as well as turn off the power. The Verizon guy I talked to tonight said you get a "better reset." I kept my router powered off and unscrewed for a while--a good couple of minutes at the minimum. Then, when I screwed the coaxial cable back in and powered back up, I had full-strength connectivity.

A lot of users with white screen after lcd replacement!

So i have a macbook air with a broken hinge.. replaced the screen assembly as in the guide on ifixit. All ok, but after replacement the screen is white with light vertical stripes. Now i have done some research and found out there are a lot of users with the exact same problem but none with a solution.
I think the reason why the screen turns white (most of the times) is because of the lcd modelnr en most importantly versionNr! The lcd model of the macbook air original is: B133EW03 but there are 4 versions of this screen: 0,1,2 and 3 respectively. In this link (page 3)http://www.ttsystem.ru/data/B133EW03_V1_Others_0204.pdf you see V1 is an upgrade of V0, in the way that the EDID codes have changes and so the OS has to send different codes to the lcd for it to 'understand'. I couldn't find the exact changes in V2 and V3 but i'm guessing it could be similar.
So my question is could this be possible?? is it possible or does anyone know you need the exact same lcd screen (model en version) when you replace your lcd screen?
Another very strange thing is that my macbook air shows some discrepancies:
The bottom case of my macbook air says A1304 and the serialNr off course. But the motherboard shows the A1237 model..Step 14! (In this ifixit guide http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-MacBook-Air-Models-A1237-and-A1304-Displa y-Assembly/855/1
Also OSX gives me the data:
MacbookAir 1,1
1,8ghz core 2 duo 64gb ssd (which isn't a a1304 model..)
but the same SerialNr!
When i check the specs online using the serialNr i can see it's made in week 50 of 2008.. in my opinion it's impossible it's a a1237, because apple introduced the a1304 in october 2008..

I had the same problem with the LCD after replacing hinges and could not figure this out.
To solve the issue, I bought another A1237 of eBay that apparently had no HD/SSD, but it arrived with a swollen battery. I removed the bad battery and replaced and moved SSD over and "Voila"...it amazingly light up...........

My computer cant pickup any LAN or wireless signal after being infected by a virus?

I posted this yesterday and tried almost every anti virus program that I could download off the internet. I'm in Afghanistan, hence no help over here.
My wireless cant pick up the Router nor can it pick up the LAN when I put a cable in. The two computer icons don't even turn bleu, it's just got a red cross throe them.
This happened a few munites after I opened an email, the hole connection just went dead and I can't find any anti virus that'll detect any fault. Can this be a virus? What kind of virus? What can I use to get rid of the virus? If not a virus where and how can I do fault finding. I have VISTA 64-bit, HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop. Thanx

Low Wireless Signal after Leopard upgradeUnder

Under OS 10.4 the MacB had full signal strength from my MS Wireless router. Since the upgrade the signal graphic doesn't go above two bars. It still connects seamlessly and works but obviously at a lower signal strength. Any tweaking suggestions most welcome or is it simply an OS 20.5 bug? Regards, Wayne

Here are somethings to try.
Go to Apple Menu, System preferences, Network then where is says location select it and click on edit locations.
Click the "+" sign. Make a new location. (If you can't figure out the next step it's "done".)
Then in the bottom right select Apply.
Then at the bottom of your network types click on the Gear.
Select Service order
Then drag your services in the order of which you connect. ( Example: my primary is wireless so I put is Airport, ether, blue, fire.. so on...)
Press "OK"
The APPLY.
Try your network again...
NO change?
Go to your router's Gui. Once you are in your router changed the wireless encryption to WPA/WP2 Personal.
Try your network again...
NO Change?
Make sure your not using B only network. B does not seem to work well with 10.5.
NO Change?
Change the Channel on your router to something other then Automatic. Try to make it different then your neighbors (if possible) and something different then your cordless phones.
NO Change?
Try booting to your original OS disk holding "D" or "OPTION" for the Apple Hardware Test. See if any errors come up. If you read your OS Disk 1 it will tell you how to boot to the AHT. FYI that is ONLY on the disks that came with your computer.
Try booting to the installer by holding "C". Select your language. Then up in your Menubar select "UTILITIES" then "NETWORK UTLITY". Your network interface should be set to EN1 for wireless or EN2 for ethernet. In this scenario select EN1 and see what the IP address is just under that menu selector. 169 = bad news bears anything else is good. If you have a good IP go to the "PING" tab. Try pinging things like www.yahoo.com, www.apple.com so on. How fast is your ping? Write down the average. Quit out of the Network Utility then, select "INSTALLER" from the menu bar and quit - then restart.
Go back to your OS. When you have the word 'FINDER" by the Apple Menu go to the word "GO" over to the right in the menu bar. Then go to "UTILITIES" then "NETWORK UTLITY" it looks like an Amber Sonar. Then ping the same websites.
Are the results the same?
If they are the same then it's not the OS it's the hardware. If they are different then the OS maybe playing a factor.
Since you just bought Leopard you have 90 of free software support from Apple. Called 800-275-2273 and select the wireless department.
If you don't call Apple and report the issue then Apple will never know and they will not know to fix it.
ALSO GO TO WWW.APPLE.COM/FEEDBACK the engineering department gets those messages and if you tell them there they will know to start asking tech support to look for this issue.

4s searching for signal after screen replacement

Not sure what to do...
Replaced the screen and getting no service. It just says searching--nothing else! It doesn't matter if the sim card is in or not.
There is no network or modem firmware showing in the about screen. Everything else is populating.
Wifi and BT work
the blue capacitor is on the board
changing the date/time didn't work.
I restored the phone
I have rebooted several times. Tried removeing and repalcing the sim
The antenna cable is securely lugged in.

You need to take it apart again and re-attach the antenna. This happened when I replaced the screen on my iPhone 4. If you had someone else do it, make them fix it for free. There is a plug that you have to plug in, and it was probably not plugged in properly.

Weak wireless signal after iTunes upgrade

When I upgraded to iTunes 10 on my 2006 MacBook (running 10.6.4) my wireless internet suddenly quit working unless I'm in the same room as the router. It may not have anything to do with iTunes, but I am suspicious as iTunes 9 started doing some funny things to my hard drive. Anyone else with a similar problem? Any ideas for solving it?

Hp 6700 keeps loosing wireless signal after setting up on new network

I have just moved the printer to a new location and followed the istruction to set up a new wireless connection. The connection was made and the printer worked fine. But then the next morning it had "forgotten" the new wireless network.
I reset the network connection and everything seemed ok again, including scanning etc. but then this morning it is printing but not able to connect the scanner.
It seems to be "forgetting" its settings.
Any help appreciated.

I read your post about your printer "forgetting" it's wireless settings, since moving to another location. I would suggest for you to try assigning a static IP, which should help stabilize the wireless connections and prevent the disconnections.

Iphone 4 screen went blurry after lcd replacement.

On my iphone 4, Lcd was broken, I bought a new lcd and tried to change myself, but when i am done everything, my iphone 4 screen went blurry with many different colourful lines, and finally screen stays white, i can't use it at all. How can i fix it? BTW when i tried to fix it using itunes my phone keeps rebooting so Itunes couldn't fix it, so i sense there is problem on hardware still. Thanks in advance.

There is no software fix for a hardware problem. This is most definitely a hardware problem. Your best bets are either send it out to someone who does professional iPhone repairs or buy a new phone.

E1000 Router Wireless signal will disappear after some time

Hi,
I have set up the E1000 this week, i found that the wireless signal would disappear after some time if the wireless connection is not in use.
For example, on my iphone
1. I search for the wireless signal and successfully got the IP
2. after using for some time, i put the iphone aside
3. when i want to use the wireless again, the iphone is not yet connected to the wireless
4. i would then need to search for the wireless signal and connect again.
This causes problems because i am using some VPN connection at my laptop and it would disconnect it.
Is there any config that would keep the wireless signal ?

Try changing the wireless channel on the router.
Also try to change some advanced wireless settings on the router. Click on Wireless tab and go to Advanced wireless settings. Change the Beacon interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307 and fragmentation threshold to 2306. Save the settings.
See if that helps you.

identified as a 2011 model, the firmware update may not

You could try & see if this reset (try more than once) could
help the issue; it may be a hardware failure. Check all the
cables, plugs, and ports to see if the issue is not in Mini.

Perhaps a genius could perform a stress test on video
or see if some other items appear weak in a test. If a

hardware (cable, display, other cause) doesn't fix it.
Did you try the SMC reset to see if the system power
management controller may affect this situation?
If you are sure (by serial number lookup or records) the
computer is a Mid 2011 build, not a Late 2012, the first
and earlier EFI firmware update may have been applied
already. Correct identification helps in such matters...

S10e (4187XB5) wireless fails after a few seconds

The wireless thinks it is connected. It connects to the home (or office) wireless without trouble, acquires valid IP address, etc., but behaves as if unconnected after a few seconds.
I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter via Device Manager (after this, I can browse the web for a few seconds, then nothing will load again)
Installing all updates to the system (there were no significant pending updates)
Updating the driver for the Broadcom network adapter
Reverting to the earlier driver for the Broadcom network adapter
Updating the BIOS.
Firewall is disabled. Ethernet works without issues, but it is not practical to use the netbook on ethernet.
Assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you for the suggestions. I do not have the Readycomm application. I did check the power management settings, and it was set to allow the computer to turn off the wireless to save power, so I unchecked and applied that. Still no luck.
I tried running the included PC Doctor 5 software and checking the network card. The Wireless Connectivity Test, Wireless Signal Strength Test and PCI Express Status Test all run without trouble. The TCP/IP Network Communication Test yields "Cannot Run," however. When I check the log, it says that the firewall may be blocking pings to the router, but the firewall is off. I double checked.
Edit: I am considering buying a replacement WiFi card, but I know this will only work if the problem is hardware. I'm still not sure; it seems counterintuitive that I it would be a hardware problem, since I can connect to wireless networks and browse the internet even for a few seconds. I can always see wireless networks and connect to them. It seems to be a TCP/IP problem.

Photosmart 6180 All-in-One Wireless Connection After Windows 7 Laptop Added to Network

I replaced a broken Vista laptop with a new Windows 7 64-bit laptop. After I installed my Photosmart 6180 All-in-One, the printer stopped working correctly when we try to connect to it wirelessly.
I followed all the directions HP provides for updating the printer software and drivers for Windows 7.
We've tried all the suggestions for resetting the printer that we can find on the HP forums.
The printer works properly when connected via USB cable to a Vista laptop.
I was not able to get the printer to work via USB cable connected to the Windows 7 laptop.
When we try to connect via the wireless signal, regardless of Vista or Windows 7, the printer goes into an endless initialization loop.
We need to determine whether achieving a wireless connection is hopeless. If it is not, we need step-by-step instructions on how to resolve the issue.
The security system for the printer is WEP. We connect through a wireless router provided by Verizon FIOS.

Some of HP's printers do not support WEP shared. If you are using WEP shared this could be the problem. I would suggest turning off the WEP security temporarily to see if that fixes the issue. If it does then you can look at changing the security to WEP Open system authentication.

IMac Intel first generation finds no wireless signal

I recently had Apple replace the hard drive in my 2 year old Intel based iMac. I then restored all my lost data (since it was a new hard drive) using Time Machine. Everything works great, but my computer no longer recognizes ANY wireless signals. My work laptop and my iPhone find both my wireless router and a number of my neighbors'.
Airport is turned on and everything looks to be the way it should be in terms of system settings.
Is it possible they forgot to reconnect the antenna to my wireless card when they replaced the hard drive? (I have no knowledge of what the interior of my iMac looks like so I don't know if they are located close together.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Unfortunately it was a blinding flash of the obvious that fixed my issue...
Simply rebooting the iMac brought it back to life.
Duh.
I assumed that since Apple usually forces reboots after updates if they are required that this didn't require one, apparently it did.
