No Wireless with Windows 8 on S205 (Win7/8 drivers)

Dear All,
I am a loyal lenovo customer and have been using lenovo for years now. Last year I purchased lenovo S205 which came with Win7 and  recently upgarded to Win8 but little did I know that after the upgarade I will have issues in its wifi as I have never had such a horrifing experience with my other mecahines.
I have done everything that is advised on this forum to get my wifi activated, after isntalling Win8 but in vain. Its my humbly request all the gurus to kindly give due attention in bailing me out, if possible.
Bless you & thanking you in anticipation.

hi AnwarKhan,
Are you having problems detecting wifi networks? Is the wireless lan adapter installed under Device Manager but you can't detect any wifi networks when you press Fn+F5? If the answer is Yes, you problem might be similar to these articles:
Wireless card enabled but not connected after Win 8 Pro was installed
Wireless unable to switch on in Windows8
Can you try the solution that were posted on these articles.
Let me know your findings
Cheers

    Hi again manny2249,
If the Bluetooth Settings feature does not appear on the Canon iP90 Setup Utility screen, the Bluetooth unit may not be installed correctly.  We recommend contacting us via one of the support methods listed at the Contact Us link below for assistance with setting up the printer via Bluetooth.
If this is a time-sensitive matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.

  • PSC 1350 all-in-one not completing print jobs wirelessly with windows 7 64 bit

I have a acer 5542 running windows 7 (64bit), connected wirelessly to an Orange Livebox hub, to which my HP PSC 1350 printer is connected (via USB cable) therefore using the Livebox as a USB printer server. This configuration has worked very well for my 2 XP laptops for the past year or two. I set up the printer on the windows 7 laptop by connecting it directly, via the USB cable, letting windows install it, and download the latest drivers, (although HP say they have no specific 64bit drivers for this printer, but the drivers they have, and that windows downloaded, work fine!) then i changed the port to the livebox ip address.
All this worked fine (as on the xp machines), I printed out a spreadsheet, which worked fine untill it approached the end of the page, then just stopped. I troubleshot the printer which didnt return any sprcifics, Just that the print job had failed, and that it had rectified the problem, then the printer starts reprinting the same document, to the same point, (about 95% complete) and again stalls, and so the cycle continues. I have tried it with various different documents and photos, to the same ends. But if i connect the laptop directly to the printer, via USB, it completes the jobs fine
I have posted on microsoft answers forums, but the one answer i have recieved (re installing everything) did not solve the problem. Although i am not too savvy on computers, i kind of get the feeling it is a spooling issue. (not processing or holding onto the last part of a print file! But its only a feeling!)
any help would be very much appreciated

    Hi there,
I understand you're looking for drivers for your PSC 1210 on Windows 7. I will certainly do my best to guide you in this issue.
At this time there are no HP drivers available for this printer for Windows 7. You can still use the printer with Windows 7, you will just have to use the drivers available within Windows 7. That document will walk you through what you need to do in order to get printing again, and will also show you how to scan with this Windows driver.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • WRV54G - Problems connecting wirelessly with Windows 7

I'm unable to connect wirelessly to router using a HP laptop with windows 7. I have 2 xp laptops that connect without a problem. The HP laptop finds network, but once I click on network to connect, it does not ask for the security code therefore I can not connect to network.

Hi. I think you need to verify your router MAC Filtering. I would suggest to disable it first. Check this link,
    http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgibin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.phpp_faqid=20600&p_created=125498...
Also, make sure you're using the latest firmware for the router. Don't forget to manage the Profile of the card as stated on the link provided above. Thanks.

  • Printing wirelessly with Windows Vista

Alright I just got our Vista laptop successfully connected to the TC wireless network.
Now I'm trying to print wirelessly with the Vista laptop, but when I go into "add printer" in the Vista control panel, it's unable to detect the printer. The printer is on.
My Macbook Pro is currently able to print wirelessly.
Anybody know what I can try?

I was able to add the printer on my Vista laptop with Bonjour on the disk that came with Time Capsule. Previously the laptop couldn't see the printer, but now it can wirelessly print.
This manual was helpful (p. 61).

  • M1212nf printer wont work wireless with Windows 10

I installed Windows 10 two days ago to my computer as well as two others in the house. We were all using a wireless network.I now have to use the printer through the USB port on my computer only. The wireless feature does not function. When I try to update I am only able to find drivers for a 1210 series system. The driver is rejected and I am told it is not compatible with my printer. How do I restore the connection without going back to Windows 8.1? Is there a separate update for this product based on Windows 10?How do i solve this problem?

Hi , I read your post and see that you need the drivers for Windows 10. I would be happy to help you.
This model has a USB and Ethernet connection only. I have provided a link to the HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver. The Windows 8.1 and the Windows 10 are the same drivers and can be used for both operating systems. Please note : If your device had full support (not just basic print or scan) in Windows 7 or 8 then your device is supported, but may not immediately show up on hp.com for Windows 10: Please download the Windows 8.1 drivers and use those (they have been tested and worked with Windows10) If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. Thank You.

  • How can I run MP350 with Windows 8.1 computer? Works OK with Windows 7 machine. Need drivers.

How can I run MP350 with Windows 8.1 computer?
It works OK with Windows 7 machine, using drivers from original CD.
Windows 8,1 machine doesn't find those drivers (which I copied to its C drive).
It doesn't find needed drivers on the internet.

  • No Wireless with Windows 8 on S205 (Win7/8 drivers) - I've read that there is a method that works...

Have read and tried methods suggested in numerous other posts including those for other Lenovo models.
Installed Windows 8 x64 clean install.
    - BIOS updated before win8 install.
    - Win8 WIFI switch cannot be turned on.
Installed newest wifi driver for Win8
    - WIFI switch doesn't turn on.
    Installed Win8 Power Management.
    - FN+F5 toggles Win8 flight mode only.
    - Uninstalled driver and tested with Win7 driver - no better.
Uninstalled Win8 Power Management and installed Win7 Power Management
    - FN+F5 only lists a switch for Bluetooth.
    - No better for Win7 PW and Win8 wifi driver.
It appears that some people have had success using a particular method but unfortunately it was described quite badly and failed to work in my case.
Can any of the experts or future experts please assist?
N.B. To save the expected post, the wireless hardware switch is on.
    Thank you...

Unfortunately Lenovo were no help and willing to say anything to get me off the phone - This will be my last Lenovo machine, entirely due to the support which has gone the same way of IBM - pathetic and useless. Sad I'm a huge fan of the machines.
Fortunately I was able to fix this after attempting many solutions, the solution was found HERE, which was overlooked in the beginning due to the title.
Windows 8 needs to be booted from BIOS environment not EFI for the wireless to function. To do this I had to reinstall Windows 8 in legacy mode.
QUICK STEPS for anyone else with the same issue.
    1) Of course, backup everything you need to another drive.
    2) On the Windows 8 installer USB, rename bootmgr.efi to bootmgrold.efi and the folder EFI to OLDEFI.
    3) Before installing change your BIOS setting from AHCI to IDE
    4) Boot the Windows 8 Installer USB and install.
    5) During the procedure, delete all partitions and create a new one (and leaving the RESTORE parititon windows creates).
    6) Windows will automatically install drivers and wireless can be used during the setup procedure.
N.B. Only drivers required were for APCI and CardReader. For this you need the Power/Energy Management (I recommend Win 7 version) and Realtek USB2.0 Card Reader drivers (again, Win7 recommended)
HTH and saves lots of time wasted with drivers.

  • Connecting wirelessly with Windows XP to Airport Extreme working

I have a working wireless Network using an Airpot Extreme with most current update and my mac has no problem getting on the network. When I secure the network using 128 Encryption, my Windows machine cannot log on, it sees the netwrok but states "Limited or No Connectiviy". I have always had this problem (1.5 years), but just discovered this message board.
I believe my wireless card is a "Intel(R) Pro/wireless 2200BG Network Connection" build into my HP Compaq nc6000
Anyone have any thoughts on how to get my Windows machine to work on my wireless network with 128 encryption?

  • How to synch Palm Centro (Verizon Wireless) with Windows 7, 64 bit??????

I tried to sync with USB adapater that came with the phone but I get error message that device driver could not download.  Can someone please help me.
    Thank you.
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

You cannot natively sync a PalmOS device with a 64bit OS via USB - the solution is to do it wirelessly.

  • ATI 6750M and Bootcamp with Windows 7 - where to find drivers?

I have a 2011 MBP 15" with a ATI 6750M, where can I find Windows 7 drivers? I installed the Bootcamp drivers from the install DVD, but it looked like it actually installed nVidia drivers, not ATI. Help!

Actually Bootcamp does install the AMD drivers. Bootcamp will run the nVidia driver install, but it will see that you don't have an nVidia card installed and will close and continue on to other drivers. The AMD drivers install towards the end.
It worked just fine for me, but the drivers included are not the most up to date and they are the only drivers that will install for the 6750M. I tried installed the latest mobile drivers, but all it did was update the CCC and not the graphics driver.

  • Incompatibility with Windows 8 and Intel WiFi Drivers

Firefox 17 worked well with my original Intel driver for windows 8 but I had connection issues. I have now updated my Intel driver to 15.5.6 and now several of my websites will not display or load properly. All I get i a white screen with lines of black text or blue hyperlink text. It looks like a word document. Unfortunately I know that it is firefox because the websites work in google chrome. I would prefer to continue using firefox so I would love a patch or an update to change this.

  • Hp officejet pro 8500 wireless a909g scan with Windows 7

I have been using HP officejet pro 8500 a909g wireless with windows xp with no problems scanning.  I got a laptop with windows 7 64 bit and cannot scan to the computer from the solution center software on the computer or from the display on the unit like I used to be able to do.  When I try to scan, it says that it is scanning and then quits after a short time.  Nothing happens with the scanner.  The Solution Center also sees the document is loaded.  I have tried the scanning software program to see if something is wrong but it says all is fine.  What do I need to do?

There is a way to launch the scan application directly.
Go to c:\program files\hp\digital imaging\bin and double click on hpiscnapp.exe
See if you are able to complete a scan this way
    If that doesn't work,
    Rename the twain folder:
Navigate to C:\Windows and double click on it
Scroll down to the twain_32 folder, and rename the folder twain_32 old .
Then, Delete the whole Digital Imaging folder in the program files above and then do an install/reinstall which will repopulate the folder. NOTE: If you have multiple HP imaging devices (other printers, scanner, or cameras) Do not delete the Digital Imaging folder or you will need to reinstall those items.
    I was an HP employee.
Kudos are appreciated if I have helped you.
