No 'Words Only' View?

Am I correct that there's no "words only" view supported by Pages?
Why can't I press a key and toggle between the full layout I can see now and a window with all the text in a screen-optimized font (e.g., Lucida Sans 12 pt.) and minimal formatting (e.g., just extra space before and simple emphasis of headings). There's no technical obstacle, and no user model obstacle, and every writer must need it, right?
This isn't another cut at "full screen" that so many wordprocessors do, but a simple, clean view, of +just the text+, with basic semantic layout.
(Yes, I know that Pages is a "page layout" program, but if it's clearly moving towards becoming a true wordprocessor, for which purpose a simple words-only view is an essential feature.)

You are right that it is not possible. It could be nice if it had been possible, but I do not think it is trivial to implement.
InDesign has such a function, but I always get frustrated when I try to use it for some reason. I think part of the problem is where you draw the limit between "words only" and "layout". Is italics part of the layout or the words? Ligatures? Font size? I would appreciate some such things in a "words only" view, but it is possible that other people would not.

Hi Jon,
Try placing your curser in the middle and click on that page a few times. Often this will make it available for editing.

5800 and quicktime or Word 2003 viewer

Does anyone know if it's still possible to install a (ideally free) Word doc viewer on the 5800? Looking through the forums there seems to be something called quicktime, but only a full paid-for read/write version. Earlier on this year one could apparently download it via the 'Download!' folder on the 5800, but now there's only the Ovi store there, and the Ovi store seems pretty useless.
Any ideas? I don't need to write docs, but it would be v useful to read them.

The free read-only version is not generally available. Some Nokia phones have it installed in the firmware at factory-level, for some reason this was not included in the 5800. Check if you can get it using the Download! application in your phone, otherwise you might have to bite the bullet abd buy the full version.
If you go down that road, keep an eye on the quickoffice.com web site, they often have special offers with reduced prices.

In iTunes prefs>Store - is the Store check box unchecked?

Can only view Mail in full-screen mode

After installing Yosemite, I can only view the main Mail window in Full Screen mode, unless I check "Classic View" in Preferences. Classic view does not help much, because it does not show the preview, which is essential to me. If I exit fullscreen mode, the minimized window appears for a split-second and then disappears down the left bottom corner of the screen and you cannot find it anywhere. The only way to see anything again is to go to Mail - View - Full Screen. Any help is much appreciated.

I am new to OWB and want to know if possible to create different users that can only view other user's mappings without making any changes. Do you know if possible each user can have his own password?

I seem to recall as well from the OWB Admin class that existing objects in the repository would need to have the security updated if the additional restricted roles are created after tables/mappings/etc. so that they reflect the new security model.
Also, for individual logins to OWB, each developer would require a separate database login.

Using Mail, I have a very strange phanomenon: I can only open one email at a time. E.g. when writing a new email, I cannot open another email for reference. I need to close and save the new email as a draft before being able to open another one. Obviously, I am not reading two emails at a time, but I might be writing one and needing infos/text from another. It sounds stupid, but that's the way it is. :-/

The photos I have selected have already been imported so how and why do I do it all over again?
What do they mean by published albums? I categorize them into photo albums for organizational purposes after I import them from my camera or phone. So why can't I put them into a book now?
I have over 400 photos selected for a photo book for my child's graduation gift so how can I tell which photos I have to do this to?
Please help. Any insight wouyld be appreciated.

Give this a try: apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.

Yes, you can. There's an option in the gallery's setting, "Hide Album on my gallery page", which will isolate it from the other galleries, both on the main gallery page and in that particular gallery. This gallery is an exmaple of that.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

take a look at the documentation for CREATE VIEW, there is a restriction:
"You cannot specify the ORDER BY clause in the subquery if you also specify the subquery_restriction_clause."

I have tried doing row = vo.next(); without the if statement, but row still evaluates to null.
The VO returns one record in the BC4J tester and I have this exact method and VO defined in another project and it works there. Tearing my hair out with this one...

I guess you use the VO.next(), but the current row of the VO is the one you get from db, and his next is null...

You need to do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B.
Restart phone
Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure in the phone that needs evaluation by Apple.
