No YouTube with Safari 5
Recently Safari has stopped showing YouTube videos. I have the most up to date Flash player and Firefox seems to play YouTube just fine. What's going on? Is there a registry or something I'm missing? This has only happened recently. Should I uninstall and reinstall Safari? Any advice would be nice.

Even if you have the latest Flash plugin, uninstall then reinstall a new copy then repair permissions.
Uninstall Flash
Install the most recent version of Flash here.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

I get sound when using my MacPro with Safari but not with Firefox.
Did you check the volume setting in the player to make sure that the sound isn't muted?
You can try to clear the Flash local storage.

No sound on youtube with safari
No sound on youtube it plays the video but with no sound.
1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
Press the "Delete All" button.
Install Adobe Flash Player.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Download it first.
The next step is important.
Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
Follow the prompts and install it.
Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
Enable it. -
Flash Plugin failure on Youtube with Safari 5.1.5 and Flash 11.1.102.64
Hi Everyone,
As of yesterday following an update on my Macbook Air I now get the following error everytime I try watching a video on Youtube. Following the update I had updated to 11.2.202.233 of flash. I tried downgrading to 11.1.102.64 and neither this has made a difference.
I've tried resetting the PRAM too.
I also note the helpd process keeps crashing too.

Your system software is outdated.
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
Restart your Mac after the updates are installed.
Then open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin before reinstalling.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Cick Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Try a video.
If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari. -
Video failure in youtube with Safari
When I run any video in Youtube the image flickers, a sintom similar to inverted fields in image. The image flickers and tremble.
This sintom happens only in Safari. When I use Google Chrome, it doesn't happen.
What kind of setting I have to do to correct this? Is it better to reinstall Safari? How do I do this reinstallation without re-installing the System?
I'm using OS X 10.6.8.Safari > Preferences > Privacy

You could try a couple of things...
1. Reset Safari
2. Trash a preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart.

Ever since YouTube updated their design, I've been unable to post a comment (or click on links).
For example, I'm on a Top Gear video now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7u6yYkTaZU
To post a comment the comment box says 'click here to post comment'. When I click it does nothing.
I also cannot click on reply, share, add to, etc...
Is anyone else facing this issue?
I'm on a maxed out iMac 2010 with fully updated softward and Mountain Lion.

I tried clearing out cookies, deleting cache, and removing any plugins.Adding those to my exceptions fixed it, thanks. As if I was not mad enough at Google, they seem to want to force tracking you for advertising.

Downloading youtube with safari - Where's the large file?
Two recent problems that never occurred before. When the Youtube is playing and I look at Activity, it used to be obvious which was the large file that I was supposed to click on --- they were all in kb's except for one giant one, in MB's, that stuck out like a sore thumb. Now, there is no giant one. So I clicked on one of the small kb files, and it downloaded as an flv file, which I can't use. This is new...previously, a useable format downloaded. So, I am guessing that once I solve the "where is the giant one" problem, I will need some kind of flv converter. Thus, my 2 questions are: (1) Where is the giant file? (2) Suggestions for an FLV converter. Thank you. I'm running Lion. - Robert

I am trying to watch videos on youtube with safari. When I play a video, it seems to lock everything up until the video is fully loaded. My internet speed on any other website watching any other videos is perfectly fine. Anyone have any ideas as to why Youtube videos are freezing and not functioning right when everything else is?

Most YouTube content requrires the Flash plugin so try troubleshooting...
Quit Safari.
Uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed in Safari > Preferences > Extensions, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari -
Adobe Flash Player with Safari problem
Youtube says that I need to upgrade my Adobe Flash Player when I have already done so. It also says this on multiple sites where I can watch flash content as well. What do I need to do?
Make sure you are using the correct version of Flash Player.

Help downloading flash and problems with Safari

I've got two questions. I'm aware that the main problem is my operating system is old (OS X 10.4.11, Safari 4.1.3) I'm saving up for a new computer, but meanwhile....
1) Sometimes when I go to open an address this comes up:
"Safari can’t open “http://www.thegreenparent.co.uk/downloads/Writers_Guidelines_2010.pdf” because Mac OS X doesn’t recognize Internet addresses starting with “http:”."
2) I'm desperately trying to download Adobe Flash as I can't listen to radio/watch films etc without it. It's a real pain. I don't know how it happened, until a couple of weeks ago I could listen to BBCiPlayer etc no probs, but now when I try it tells me to download flash - I go to the Adobe flash site, download the programme, restart and still BBCiPlayer asks for flash. I've had a look through the forums here and allowed permissions, plus I downloaded 'wimpy' nothing has worked... help!

What's wrong with YouTube on Safari!!!
Hi guys,
This is just recently!! YouTube on Safari is literally BAD EXPERIENCE!!!
When I choose to play something, it either:
- Play the first 4 seconds and repeat with a black screen
- Play 10-15 seconds as a whole clip instead of the proper lenght of the clip
- It keeps freezing my browser if a video managed to load, it gets stuck A LOT, it plays only part of it and not all of it and it just doesn't work!!
What is going on! I tried all of this uninstall Flash and reinstall and/or whatever!!!
It works smoothly on Firefox, something is wrong with SAFARI!!!
What can I do? anybody with the same issue and found out a solution!!

Quit Safari.
Really helps to tell us which Mac OS X you have installed when you post.
If you are running v10.7 Lion, open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
If you aren't running v10.7 Lion, start here:
If you are sure you UNINSTALLED the original Flash plugin first before reinstalling new, launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.

I have Mountain Line with Safari 6.0.2. I used to open Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. and everytime I select "Stay signed in" "Remember my password" etc. but it doesn't save my passwords and everytime I have to sign in again. I never sign out from these websites but when I open it next time, it requires username & password.
Does anybody know the problem & solution, plz help. I also found disk erros and reaoired permissiomn and the restarted and did disk utlty again and repaired the same disk errors and then did a restart and still does not remember passwords or ask me. Did all this still no luck it saved apple login on here and saved gmail account but others one it used to save does no longer.here is what i did below and still no luck.

12I suggest that you run software update, after which you should have Safari 6.0.5 - then check Safari - Preferences - Privacy & see that 'Block cookies' is not set to Always.

Problem watching Youtube video with Safari 5.1.10
I'm running Safari 5.1.10 under Snow Leopard 10.6.8 but cannot watch anymore videos with Youtube. Does anyone has an idea ?

Thanks for your support but I already tried those options without success. I reinstalled completely Safari 5.1.10 but problem remains.
In fact it seems that clicking action to authorise cookies is inhibited (no effect) therefore videos as thumbtails do not appear (blank), however if I click on a video tittle then it starts to play normally. Really really weird, I don't if Google did some upgrade with Youtube therefore Safari 5.1.10 is obsolete ...
As an alternative I will use Google Chrome but it's a pitty.

Losing internet connection with youtube in safari
I keep losing Network connection after i use YouTube in safari. Need to restart iPad to get connection again. Anyone an solution? I Re installed already 2 times but without any luck.
Use the you tube app that came with the pad, and see if the problem happens there are well.
Do you internet on other apps or browsing? I think you have an internet issue, not a you tube issue.
