Nodemanager Broken in WLS 12.1.2 (Bug)

I discovered the following issue with the latest WLS 12.1.2 release:
WebLogic 12.1.2 Nodemanager Bug
Any suggestions?
Is anybody else bothered?
Does it work with the per machine NM?
Same problem in earlier versions of WLS or just 12.1.2? (I haven't noticed it before)
thanks for your input!

I tested in my 10.3.5 Environment and don't happen nothing.
Maybe only in 12c, but I doubt about if it's a bug.

  • WLS 6.1 SP4: bug in ExecuteThread's contextClassLoader behavior?

    Platform: WebLogic Server 6.1 SP4, JDK 1.3.1_06, Windows
    When creating a new thread from a serlvet with a current
    thread of type "weblogic.kernel.ExecuteThread", the
    contextClassLoader of the new thread is set incorrectly.
    The contextClassLoader of the child thread should be of
    type "weblogic.utils.classloaders.ChangeAwareClassLoader",
    but instead is of type "sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader".
    By stepping through the code with a debugger, I was able
    to determine that the ExecuteThread class has a private
    variable named contextClassLoader and that it returns the
    value of this variable from the getContextClassLoader
    method.
    When a Thread is created, its initialization code uses the
    private contextClassLoader member of the Thread class from
    the parent thread to set the contextClassLoader of the new
    thread. Since the ExecuteThread class does not appear to
    change that value (presumably by calling
    super.setContextClassLoader()), the new thread now has the
    incorrect context class loader.
    Because of this, the code executing in the new thread uses
    the wrong class loader for certain JNDI operations,
    causing them to fail. Specifically calls to
    NamingManager.getObjectInstance passing a Reference object
    fails to create the instance because it does not have
    access to the correct class loader.
    Is this a known issue? When will it be fixed?

    This looks like a bug. contact [email protected]
    As a workaround try the following
    Thread thread = new Thread();
    thread.setContextClassLoader(Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader());

  • Oracle 11g bug for column ambigously defined error

    I have below format query running on Oracle 10g without any issues
    select col1
    from (select col1
    from (select 'A' col1
    from dual)
    ) v1
    inner join (select col1 as col2
    from (select 'A' col1
    from dual)
    ) v2
    on (v1.col1=v2.col2);
    When I run the exact same query on Oracle 11g I get column ambiguously defined error. But when I change the query to as below it works fine on 11g
    select v1.col1
    from (select col1
    from (select 'A' col1
    from dual)
    ) v1
    inner join (select col1 as col2
    from (select 'A' col1
    from dual)
    ) v2
    on (v1.col1=v2.col2);
    Is it because 11g ignores column alias in my inner queries.

    I'd tend to agree that this seems to be a bug in 11.1.0.7 (at least, that's the version I'm running it in)
    It's not even that Oracle doesn't know about the column aliases, you can remove the aliases in the ON without a problem, i.e.
    SELECT v1.col1
       FROM
      (SELECT col1 FROM
        (SELECT 'A' col1 FROM dual
      ) v1
    INNER JOIN
      (SELECT col1 AS col2 FROM
        (SELECT 'A' col1 FROM dual
      ) v2
         ON (col1=col2);works fine. Using the old join syntax also seems to work fine
    SELECT col1
       FROM
      (SELECT col1 FROM
        (SELECT 'A' col1 FROM dual
      ) v1,
      (SELECT col1 AS col2 FROM
        (SELECT 'A' col1 FROM dual
      ) v2
      WHERE (col1=col2);So it appears that something in the SQL 99 parser is broken. Have you logged a bug in Metalink?

  • JHTML support in WLS5.1

    There was a defect in version 5.1.0 against J. HTML pages.
    If I remember correctly, it is going to be fixed in an upcoming service

    Technical support should have more information.

    Hi,
    I'm working with a company that is considering moving from WLS 4.0.3
    to
    WLS 5.1. I have tried to install some sample JHTML pages and I can't
    get them to work. I read another message earlier that said JHTML was
    broken in WLS 4.5.1 and would be fixed in WLS 5.1. Can someone tellme
    if this is fixed. I was not able to run pages that work under 4.0.3in
    5.1.
    FYI, the previous answer about the conversion tool is not the desired
    response. My client has a MAJOR investment in 4.0.3 and was one ofthe
    earlier adopters of Weblogic before BEA purchased them. I'm sure they
    can pursue this through their support license. However, I wouldreally
    like to do some preliminary testing and tell them its possible so wecan
    get sign off on the upgrade path.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I tried starting the server from the console as well as from command prompt. Here I am giving the command below.
    nohup ./startManagedWebLogic.sh bi_server1 t3://machineIP:portNo > bis1_startup.log &
    But each time I got the same exception.

  • How do I bundle a jre with an RCP appl on Mac OSX

    Hi,
    We are making an RCP appl with kepler.
    I want to ship the jre's with the appl.
    On windows I can just ship a jre dir in the root, no problem.
    On the Mac (10.8.4) it does not seem to work, at least not in an obvious way.
    I downloaded the latest 1.7 jre (25) for Mac from the oracle website.
    I tried the following:
    unzip it and put it in a jre dir in the root => not used, falling back to system jre
    same and put '-vm' in the ini => error saying 1.6.0_51 is not supported (huh? I do not even have 1.6)
    I tried exporting an appl (with bundled jre) from eclipse using the product definition. That works but when I look at the generated appl tree I see a jre dir with another jre dir inside it ??? The inner jre dir seems to be a (partial) duplicate of the outer one.
    Ok, sort of at least, now I tried to copy my downloaded jre dir inside itself. That works, but if I remove the contents of one of them it does not work anymore and I do not really want to ship a double jre.
    Can anybody shed some light here?
    What is the optimal way to bundle a jre with an RCP application on Mac OSX?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    I have done this within our product and have it working. It's tricky because if you're using Maven to build, OS X's JRE symlink's libjvm.dylib - which Java's unzip invariably screws up.
    I was only able to get this to work by using Tycho, as the app export within the PDE is just plain broken (and seemingly unmaintained). This bug has been there for quite some time - I don't have any faith in it ever getting fixed, regardless of whatever bugzilla says.
    If you're building RCP apps for distribution - you should probably consider using Tycho anyways; admittedly there's a lot of BS that comes with it, but it's the only seemingly straightforward way to build and package an RCP app in a headless manner for continuous integration. Buckminster is supposedly also a solution - but it has less information and support than Tycho - so YMMV.
    Anyways back to your problem. Using Tycho with some custom maven magic, I was able to solve this. Essentially I downloaded the JRE from Oracle, and uploaded to our Artifactory so I could reference it using maven coordinates. I unpack that tar.gz package into the OS X distribution directory and place the package under the <your app name>.app/jre. Because of the symlink munging - you have to go and fix that, so remove the existing zero byte libjvm.dylib and relink it using ant exec. Now that you have a good JVM, you need to modify the config.ini to use the right JRE. Unfortunately you can only build this on OS X or Linux - Windows is SOL unless you can find a way to use Cygwin or equivalent. Since I'm doing this outside of Tycho's archiving phase (and theres not apparently way to slip my changes in between), I have to recreate the OS X archive.
    Hopefully this helps you solve your problem... I beat my head against the wall trying to fix this for several weeks trying to find a working solution as the error reporting is completely incorrect.
    Anyways, good luck!

  • Cannot increase the stack size

    Hi,
    We have a program which gives a StackOverflowError. Trying the increase the stack size using command line options does not work. A simple program shows that the stack is the same size, whatever option we set.
    This is the program:
    class StackOverflowTest
    public static int counter = 0;
    public static void main(String[] a)
    try {
    sub();
    } catch (StackOverflowError e)
    System.out.println("recursive calls: "+counter);
    public static void sub()
    counter++;
    sub();
    We tried several -Xss (and -Xoss) settings: 600K, 2048K, 4M but got the same recursion deep: 16683 (with Eclipse), or 16689 (command line).
    We used Windows XP.
    Do you have any clue?
    Many thanks,
    Zsolt

    Oh good, they seem to have broken the forum formatting again.

  • Weblogic Server 6.1 Service Pack 2

    Hi !
    Is there any major difference between wl6.1 sp1 and wl6.1 sp2 ?
    My applications which otherwise work fine on former, now are not even loading
    at the start of wl 6.1 sp2 . They give a error java.lang.String index out of range
    -1
    Any ideas on what to do next ?
    Thanks
    Lalitha

    hi.
    The only differences between sp1 and sp2 on WLS 6.1 are bug fixes as spelled out
    here: http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/notes/bugfixes2.html#1121521.
    Take a look at the exceptions and corresponding stack traces - are these exceptions
    being thrown by WebLogic code or your own application code? It is possible that a bug
    fix in sp2 exposed a bug in your application, or maybe introduced a new bug in wls.
    Perhaps you can post the exception(s) here if you don't think they are coming from
    your code.
    Regards,
    Michael

  • Huge lag when changing currentState for the first time in simple application, Flex 4.6?

    Please try out the example code below.
    The first time I click the button it takes my PC ~ 85 ms to change states. If I click the back button afterwards, then click the button again, the lag is gone and the state change is fast. I've tried changing the creation policy, seems like it has no effect and there are deeper problems
    My questions are why is there lag the first time you click the button, and how do you fix it? I have an application that uses a state flow very similar to the code I have simplified below and this is really driving me nuts.

    I am gonna be blunt and say I am quite annoyed that you did not read my post at all. 85 ms is a 1600% increase in lag, the first time the state changes. This is also a scaled down version of the problem with only a SINGLE component. The more components you add, the worse the delay gets.
    After spending a lot of time searching, this seems to be a bug that has existed for quite some time as early as Flex 4.1. https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-30302. Now in flex 4.6, it is still broken with the 9 month old bug report closed and deferred
    itemCreationPolicy and creationPolicy do not work at all in conjuction with includeIn/excludeIn. At least the work-around kind of works, although I am sure there are plenty of people still using the creationPolicies not knowing why their applications are so slow.

  • How to init a servlet with 5.1.0 ?

    Hi Sebastien,
              Apparently this has been broken in WLS 5.1 and already been fixed. (Issue # 10245)
              This fix will be included in next service pack.
              Please follow-up with support if you need a one-off patch.

  • Resource Allocation Issue in Weblogic messaging bridges

    Hi,
    We are using
    Weblogic version à WebLogic Server 8.1 SP5 Mon Sep 19 23:06:54 PDT 2005 641358 WebLogic XMLX Module 8.1 SP5 Mon Sep 19 23:06:54 PDT 2005 641358 WebLogic Temporary Patch for CR250915 04/18/2006 22:21:33
    Java JDK version à 1.4.2_11
    Oracle version à 9.2.08
    Solaris version à Solaris 5.8
    The weblogic application is deployed on Unix Solaris.
    We have configured 8 message bridges within weblogic between the 8 Topics in weblogic (source JMS destination) and 8 topics in the External EMS server (Target JMS destination) .
    The properties set for the message bridges are
    1] AsyncEnabled ="true"
    2] DurabilityEnabled ="true"
    3] QualityOfService="Exactly-once"TransactionTimeout="10"
    4] TransactionTimeout="10"
    The source and target JMS destinations are bridge using the resource adapter of jms-xa-adp (connector module)
    The properties for the Source JMS Destination are
    1] ConnectionFactory = weblogic.jms.client.JMSXAConnectionFactory
    The properties for the Target JMS Destination are
    1] InitialContextFactory = com.tibco.tibjms.naming.TibjmsInitialContextFactory
    2] ConnectionFactory = XATopicConnectionFactory
    The EMS client version library is EMS version client library à 4.2.0
    The message Bridge Thread Pool Size is à 12
    When the weblogic is started, all the bridges comes up properly and are forwarding message to the target, however after some time (1 to 2 days) we observe some that some of the bridges are going down and we get see following error in the weblogic logs
    ####<May 26, 2010 12:00:56 AM GMT> <Warning> <Connector> <ngun015> <zlw1rdbs12-a> <ExecuteThread: '6' for queue: 'MessagingBridge'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-190032> << Weblogic Messaging Bridge Adapter (XA)_eis/jms/WLSConnectionFactoryJNDIXA > ResourceAllocationException of javax.resource.ResourceException: Failed to start the connection on createManagedConnection.>
    ####<May 26, 2010 12:00:56 AM GMT> <Info> <MessagingBridge> <ngun015> <zlw1rdbs12-a> <ExecuteThread: '6' for queue: 'MessagingBridge'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-200042> <Bridge RefDataCompanyBridge failed to connect to the source destination and will try again in 60 seconds. (javax.resource.ResourceException: Failed to start the connection)>
    Can you please help us resolve the above issue?
    Thanks,
    Mohanraj

    There seems to be couple of known issues with WLS 8.1 and Tibco EMS.. Check with support whether your issue is related to any of the below:
    Message bridge will stop responding and WLS has to be restarted to overcome this.
    There is a known bug on WLS 8.1. Bug 8062571 is for the issue.
    Should the connection be interrupted by a problem on the Tibco side, the messaging bridge never tries to reconnect. the problem can be that Tibco EMS is restarted for some reason or that the maximum number of messages that Tibco EMS can handle is reached.
    Unpublished bug8066979 is available for WebLogic Server 8.1 SP6 and later
    Unpublished bug8172940 is available for WebLogic Server 9.2 MP2 and later
    Note you can get more info about bridge problems by following the below steps:
    To debug the bridge you can enable debugging for the messaging bridge using either of the followings methods:
    * Add the following lines to your WebLogic start script (before the weblogic.Server line):
    -Dweblogic.debug.DebugMessagingBridgeStartup=true
    -Dweblogic.debug.DebugMessagingBridgeRuntime=true
    * Add the following statements to the ServerDebug entry in your configuration file (config.xml) for the server that the messaging bridge is running on:
    DebugMessagingBridgeStartup="true"
    DebugMessagingBridgeRuntime="true"
    Once debugging is enabled for the messaging bridge, the debugging messages are sent to the server log by default. However, if you want them to appear in the Administration Console, add “DumpToConsole” to the statements show above. For example:
    -Dweblogic.debug.DebugMessagingBridgeStartupDumpToConsole=true

    Hi, i just installed a fresh Arch system (2.6.35-ARCH) and I'm using Xorg (1.9.0) together with the AUR-package "catalyst-test". Now when i start up a desktop environment (i tryd twm and openbox), my mouse pointer looks weird on my right monitor but normal on my left, which is my primary.

    When i tryd to make a screenshot of the problem the image just showed me the mouse pointer as its supposed to be, so i had to make this picture with a camera. Catalyst-test is compatible with xorg-server 1.9, otherwise there would be just a blank screen ...
    I'll keep that in mind, thanx for your helpul comment.

  • Why does my ZTE open c Firefox OS smart phone forget the wlan settings and does not ring the alarm?

    Sometimes it is even enough to go outside to the waste bin to let my smartphone forget the settings for the wireless lan. When I return I have to enter the - not so short - code from my wlan router again. After that the internet connection is running as it should.
    Additionally the alarm clock does not work, I can set alarms as I like, setting the volume to the max and activate also the vibration alarm but nothing happens when the preset time is arrived, even when the alarm clock is shown on the screen the whole time. Is my phone broken? Or is it a bug in my Firefox OS installation?
    Where does Firefox OS store these values for wlan connection and alarm times? Is there an internal database that is maybe corrupted?

    Hi Markus,
    I understand that you're having issues with the Wi-Fi connection and the alarm clock in your ZTE Open C device.
    The alarm clock issue appears to be similar to what has been reported by other users and is being tracked on [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1052245 bug 1052245].
    Do you have more information regarding the alarm clock issues that you encounter? This may be very helpful to our engineering teams investigating. Please be aware that ZTE is the manufacturer of your device, and only they are able to release an update.
    The wifi issue may be related to [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=923324 bug 923324].
    Please reply to this message with the following information:
    * What is the OS version and Build ID found in the Device Information page? Please visit [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-find-what-version-firefox-os-i-have this link] if you need help finding the Build ID of your phone.
    * Please provide the exact steps to reproduce the issue you are encountering.
    * How often do you encounter this issue?
