Noise Analysis - 1overf and id variables (Active Devices)

The Noise Analysis option provides an output variable "xxN_1overf" (xxN is the device name, like qq1) for active devices (diodes, transistors).  In a circuit I am simulating the 1overf variable is the dominant noise source, but I don't understand/know what this variable is referring to (I'm suspicious its related to some sort of overflow threshold) - I cannot find a reference to a 1overf variable in any convetnional Spice manual, so it seems to be unique to Multisim.
Also does anyone know if the "xxN_id" output variable is the shot noise component or the flicker noise component (or maybe the vector sum of these).  Spice normally differentiates shot noise from flicker noise by calling shot noise NSID (or NSIB/NSIC) and flicker noise is called NFID (or NFIB).  If, as I suspect, Multisim is just adding shot and flicker noise together, is there any way of splitting these out?
Best regards
Paul

Hi,
The 1overf is the flicker noise.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flicker_noise
The "xxN_id" noise is the shot noise due to the drain current.
Hope this helps.

my ipad mini has been stolen and i have activated the find my iphone to lock. now it is only a wifi device so what are the chances that a person can get hold of it and log onto wifi without the password of my device to unlock. does that not make the app rather less useful as i have to hope that the person is apt enough to log onto the internet but not enough to erase it and start afresh. is it possible to find my device even afte someone has erased it?

"Losing your iPhone feels lousy. Thankfully, iCloud can help you get it back. But if it looks like that’s not going to happen, new Find My iPhone features in iOS 7 make it harder for anyone who’s not you to use or sell your device. Now turning off Find My iPhone or erasing your device requires your Apple ID and password. Find My iPhone can also continue to display a custom message, even after your device is erased. And your Apple ID and password are required before anyone can reactivate it."

sim is not vaild (the normal message)
    but now
when inserting non at&t sim its takes me to the activation then when i push
    next i got
the device you connected may be damaged and cannot be activated
i restor it to a new via itunes but the same message when inserting non at&t sim
the device you connected may be damaged and cannot be activated
with the orginal at&t sim i can activate with no proplems
im not asking to unlock it i just want to khnow about that message
    is that normal

You can NOT use a non-AT&T SIM in your phone. AT&T will NOT unlock iPhones for any reason.

Why don't some of the photos I took with my iPhone 4S appear on my iPad 3? Both are connected to WiFi and iCloud is activated on both devices.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

My problem is after i did a restore on my 32gb ipod touch i now get a error on itunes that says "There is a problem with your device,We're sorry the device you connected may be damaged and cannot be activated for service. " Please help

In the ipad discussion forums there apparently is a HUGE problem with people not being able to update to ios 4.3.3, it apparently locks up their devices and they are also getting the error "there is a problem with your device".... some are reporting the same problem with their ipod touch as well... it looks like it's a global issue
The forum is in the ipad section under the title of "There is a problem with your device".
I have dodged a bullet on this one since i have not updated my ipod's or ipad in the last couple of days.... i will hold off syncing to itunes until this issue is fixed... good luck, and spread the word if you can to get apple to listen

You have not replied in full.
    Check here warranty status https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
    Check here for Hardware troubleshooting.
Regarding warranty and out-of-warranty services you already have answer. Verizon will help only if they sold the iPhone.
    Incidentally in UAE
Technical support for iPhone in this region is provided by the carrier, not Apple.

  • How many paired and active devices will bluetooth on IPad 3 support at a time ?

How many (Paired and Active devices) will Bluetooth on the Ipad 3 sopport at a time?

Actually that is not quite true. Bluetooth is limited to one connection per device profile. That is to say you cannot have two bluetooth headsets actively connected at the same time, but you could have a bluetooth headset and a heart rate monitor, as the hrt monitor and the headset would be using different profiles.

I need to get phone running asap abd do not want to go to Apple to talk with Genius.

That message will occur when you put in a NON-AT&T sim
just get the sim out and try again

  • How can I isolate individual noise sources in a noise analysis simulation?

When I do an noise analysis simulation I can get a total RMS value for the band simulated, or I can get a spectral plot.
Is there any way to identify each noise source in the simulation and it's contribution to the overall output noise?
I tried a sensitivity simulation and selected all variables for output and that may have given some of the info I am looking for.  Is that correct?  Or does it not include any of the noise sources that are present in the noise analysis?
    Thanks.

Noise at the specified output node is the RMS sum of the contribution of all the noise sources multiplied by their respective gains between the sources and output.  To zero in on the most significant noise contributing sources you need to be able to see that summation before it just becomes one RMS number.  This could be done by turning on/off each noise source and re-running the simulation.  This would actually be a very easy thing to provide for the developers who have access to the source code that runs this simulation.
I don't see a way to do that as it is, or to get any other form of a report of the various noise source contributions to the output.  -Unless selecting each noise source for output does that, but I would like to confirm if this is true or not.  What I don't want is to get the total noise at each of those source nodes as if they were the output instead of at the actual output node desired.  Is that a correct understanding of how this is implemented?
I'm hoping I am wrong and the output will be as seen at the actual circuit output rather than at each source.  That would be the useful way to have it work.
Now that I think about it I suppose I could create a simulation to test this, if there is no answer from other sources.
    Thanks.

  • KNetworkmanager says "no active device"

I followed the wiki guide for Networkmanager with KDE.
When I open Knetworkmanager,  everything is grayed out and it states "no active device".
    Here is my rc.conf info:
    lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
    ath0="dhcp"
    #eth0="eth0 192.168.1.17 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255"
    INTERFACES=(lo !eth0 !ath0)
My ath0 is disabled with a !, as per the wiki.
also my DAEMONS line is in the order specified in the wiki entry:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng !network dbus hal netfs acpid alsa cpufreq dhcdbd networkmanager fam)
Network daemon is disabled, per the wiki.
    Here is my /etc/conf.d/wireless:
    # For each wireless interface declared in INTERFACES (in rc.conf), declare
    # a wlan_${IF} variable that contains the arguments to be passed to
    # iwconfig(8). Then list the original interface name in the
    # WLAN_INTERFACES array.
    #wlan_eth0="eth0 mode managed essid default"
    WLAN_INTERFACES=(ath0)
This is a Thinkpad T23 with D-Link DWL650 atheros cardbus adapter, mad_wifi driver. I am currently using wifi-radar, which was easy to get up and running, but I would like the extra features of networkmanager. Laptop will roam from one wifi hotspot to the next.
    Any help appreciated.

I think I found the answer. I had the exact same error. Installed knetworkmanager via "yaourt -S knetworkmanager" which downloaded the PKGBUILD and built it for me as well as installed it.
Then I receieved the message "no active device".
I then proceeded to edit /etc/group as root and added my normal username to the "network" line like this:
    network:x:90:tinuva
Restarted my laptop and logged into kdemod 4.1 and wala the icon started up eth0 with dhcp for me.
Now I guess the correct way of doing this would be:
    gpasswd -a USERNAME network

  • I am using the Order Analysis Toolkit and want to get more information about the compensation for "Reference Signal Processing", which is scarce in the manuals, the website and the examples installed with the toolkit.

I am using the Order Analysis Toolkit and want to get more information about the compensation for "Reference Signal Processing", which is scarce in the manuals, the website and the examples installed with the toolkit.
In particular, I am analyzing the example "Even Angle Reference Signal Processing (Digital Tacho, DAQmx).vi", whose documentation I am reproducing in the following:
    <B>DESCRIPTIONS</B>:
This VI demonstrates how to extract even angle reference signals and remove the slow-roll errors. It uses DAQmx VIs to acquire sound or vibration signals and a digital tachometer signal. This VI includes a two-step process: acquire data at low rotational speed to extract even angle reference; use the even angle reference to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation.
    <B>INSTRUCTIONS</B>:
    1. Run the VI.
    2. On the <B>DAQ Configurations</B> tab, specify the <B>sample rate</B>, <B>samples per channel</B>, device and channel configurations, and tachometer channel information.
<B>NOTE</B>: You need to use DSA PXI-447x/PXI-446x and PXI TIO device in a PXI chassis to run this example. The DSA device must be in slot 2 of the PXI chassis.
    3. Switch to <B>Extract Even Angle Reference</B> tab. Specify the <B>number of samples to acquire</B> and the <B># of revs in reference</B> which determines the number of samples in even angle reference. Click <B>Start</B> to take a one-shot data acquisition of the vibration and tachometer signals. After the acquisition, you can see the extracted even angle references in <B>Even Angle Reference</B>.
    4. Switch to the <B>Remove Slow-roll Errors</B> tab. Click <B>Start</B> to acquire data continuously and view the compensate results. Click <B>Stop</B> in this tab to stop the acquisition.
<B>ORDER ANALYSIS VIs USED IN THIS EXAMPLE</B>:
    1. SVL Scale Voltage to EU.vi
    2. OAT Digital Tacho Process.vi
    3. OAT Get Even Angle Reference.vi
    4. OAT Convert to Even Angle Signal.vi
    5. OAT Compensate Even Angle Signal.vi
My question is: How is the synchronization produced at the time of the compensation ? How is it possible to eliminate the errors in a synchronized fashion with respect to the surface of the shaft bearing in mind that I am acquired data at a low rotation speed in order to get the "even angle reference" and then I use it to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation. In this application both operations are made in different acquisitions, therefore the reference of the correction signal is lost. Is it simply compensated without synchronizing ?
Our application is based on FPGA and we need to clarity those aspects before implementing the procedure.

  • How do I unlock an iPhone 4 with iOS 7 and bypass the activation lock?

How do I unlock an iPhone 4 with iOS 7 and bypass the activation lock? I can't find the previous owner and I really want to use my new iPhone, I did purchase it Second-Handed.and now I'm stuck. Ive tried recovery mode and nothing still restores and asks me the same thing. Been working on this forever- Please Help!

If you want to risk your money, fine.
    To answer your questions
Is this just an iOS 7 feature?
Yes, Activation Lock is an iOS 7 feature.
Could you not restore the device to an earlier version?
No, you cannot downgrade your iOS device.
That may mean jailbreaking, I'm not sure.
Jailbreaking is not supported by Apple or this forum.
Or what about replacing the motherboard?
There are no user serviceable parts on an iPhone.

  • Use of Return and Notify_url variables offered by PayPal

I have been integrating PayPal into my application (ASP NET MVC) where I made some analysis about PayPal (went through their documentation about the integration). Created a PayPal sandbox account and can transfer the amount. What I want to know is about the `return` and `notify_url` variables. I have enabled `auto return` in my account and also enabled `PDT`. My form variable is like this:<input type="hidden" name="notify_url" value="http://localhost:xxx/xx/Notify">
<input type="hidden" name="return" value="http://localhost:xx/xx/Return">As I have surfed in net, what they state about `Return` and `notify_url` is:> The "return" URL to which PayPal redirects buyers’ browser after they complete their payments. For example, specify a URL on your site that displays a “Thank you for your payment” page. Default is nothing is specified – PayPal redirects the browser to a PayPal webpage. Note, you must have "Auto Return" enabled in your Account Profile settings in order for this variable to work.
    >PayPal returns data back to your site via what they call IPN. Its really just a callback to a URL you specify. You can set this URL via the variable `notify_url` you can send to PayPal.From the above quotes what I understand is that PayPal will post `IPN` variables to `notify action` once the payment done before auto redirecting to the page I set (I mean customer may go the application page or they may close the session). But only return action alone hitting not the `Notify_url`.Correct me if I misunderstood the concept and let me know if it was still Unclear.

Yes, it's not present in the code I have posted but I have tried this as well.
It didn't work, as expected, because soap/axis is on top of http and not https and because my proxy uses http as well (or at least that's what I have learned so far).
In fact, I have tried all combinations between http.\*, https.\*, and Authenticator without success.
I think the problem is more soap/axis related. The solution for axis2 seems somewhat 'trivial' (and well explained over the web) while it's not for axis1.
