Noise cancelling headset problems on xperia z2

Hi! For some reason, my noise cancelling headset that came with the z2 started not to work properly. Anywhere I plug them in, for some reason the right earphone doesn't work if I manipulate it in different ways, and when I get the sound out of the right earphone, the slightest movement will make the right earphone not work again.
If someone had experienced it, if yes, then how do you fix it?
Thanks!

This sounds like a common problem on all headphones in that a wire has become loose or there is a break in the wire - Now you could if you find the break fix it and if it's the connection then possibly a little soldering will fix it

  • Track ID keeps opening when watching a movie using the noise cancelling headset

When I am trying to watch a movie using the noise cancelling headset, the Track ID app keeps opening/starting and tries to identify the "track" I am listening to.  I stop the recording and close the Track ID app down but it immediately opens again and this happens multiple times in a row.  It stops after 10 or so attemtps and seems ok for a while but will do this again 5-10 minutes later.  This also happened when I was listening to a 3rd party app which plays relaxing sounds.  It seems to happen more often when there is loud background noise (on the train and someone opened the window), but Track ID has opened with out me starting it with very littel background noise...  It is very annoying when you are trying to watch a movie or downloaded TV show etc.

  • Noise-canceling headset to use Siri while driving?

At freeway speeds, road noise in my non-Lexus renders Siri basically useless when I use the Apple-supplied headset.
Have others solved this problem by using a noise-canceling headset? What model/brand works well - preferably without breaking the bank?
    Thanks.

That's great! Sounds like the user has a choice how to use Siri. Another concern I am finding on the blogs is that one cannot use Siri while the phone is locked. Before iOS7.1, you could. Does this mean I must unlock the phone before I can use Siri? This would be inconvenient while driving or other circumstances.

  • Using iPhone 3Gs with noise canceling headset

I recently upgraded from a 3G to a 3Gs. I used the 3G with a corded connection from the audio jack to a Lightspeed Zulu aviation noise canceling headset. It worked great. However, with the 3Gs I can hear the person I am talking to fine, but they say they can barely hear me. This never happened when I used my 3G phone with the NC headset. Is there a volume adjustment on the outgoing audio in the 3Gs?

So my question is, can i use IPhone 3Gs with my network instead of AT&T?
No, if the phone is bought from AT&T in the US, it is locked to AT&T and AT&T do not offer unlocking, so it would only be able to be used with AT&T.
There doesn't appear to be an official iPhone provider in Egypt, so you would have to buy an unlocked one from another country:

Note that for any repairs or service the iPhone would have to be returned to the country of purchase.

  • Lumia 925 noise cancelling mic problems

    I have two problem, questions:
First, I lived in Kuwait and there I bought a Nokia lumia 925 with 12 months Nokia warranty, however I moved back to my home country, is the warranty valid here too?
    -the real problem- :
Unfortunately I need it since the noise cancelling Mic does not work on it. The other microphone at the bottom of the phone works great, because during a phone call there is no problem, they hear me.
However I expected today, when I recorded a video and played it back, it was not mute, but it was like the phone would be in water, I only heard strange muffled sounds. I looked after it, I had been cleaning it for an hour: I blew air into the top microphone with a pump, with my mouth... It did not succeed, it got a little bit better, since now that strange sound is more quiet, and when I shout in it , I can hear it.
Anyway it does not even work while I am recording in the OneNote app.
It is not a solution, it is still terrible.
    Please help me!

  • Z2 Right Noise Cancelling Ear bud not working - MULTIPLE repair attempts

I am not happy with the service I have received from Sony support in the last months.
I bought my Z2 in September and after 3 weeks the right earbud of my noise cancelling headset provided with the phone stopped working 100% of the time. By moving the jack connection it would come and go. This did NOT happen with my third party earphones and when trying in the Three store I bought the device in, my suspect noise cancelling phones worked with the Z2 on display OK.
My phone was sent in first time in end of Sept/start of Oct and after I got it back the issue remained and the service log showed only a flashing of the software happened.
I then contacted Sony Xperia support again to complain and was told all I could do was return the phone AGAIN to check the QA process used.
This happened and I returned the phone again. I received the phone back today and the issue still persists! Again no hardware changes made.
I am very angry now and have lost all confidence in Sony support and would not recommend another Xperia product based on this.
What I need is for someone from Sony to call me and discuss how this will be solved.

Sorry to hear that, but you have to cotact your local Xperia Care

  • Help needed with HTC One regarding mic problem with noise cancellation

I picked up an HTC One last week, and so far I am loving the phone.  Great build quality, screen, sound - all as advertised.
However, there is one very annoying problem I am having.  When I am talking to someone, I can gear them great, but they keep telling me I sound muffled or robotic.  I performed some tests, and the problem appears to be something with the dual microphones and the HTC One's noise cancellation features.
Here are the tests I ran:
Typical phone call, with holding the phone as I normally do on the sides and to my ear.  Call result, pretty muffled voice.  I'd give the call quality a 5/10.
Help the phone as I typically do, but covered the mic hole on the back of the phone.  This definatelyimproved call quality.  Was louder and clearer, but not perfect.  I'd rate it at 8/10.
Help the phone towards the bottom, using my hand to kind of cup the bottom directing the sound to the bottom mic.  This was a further improvement in sound quality.  Rating would be 9/10.
Help phone as normal, but covered the bottom mic hole.  Very low volume and muffled sound.  Rating a 4/10.
Talked directly into the bottom of the phone into the bottom mic.  This gave perfect call quality and volume.  Rating a 10/10!
Talked directly into the mic on the back of the phone. Horrible quality, couldn't hear hardly anything. Rating 0/10.
Speaker phone on, held the phone up and moved it around as I would normally use a speaker phone.  Call quality was really nice.  Id give it 9/10.
Speaker phone on, covered back mic hole and used speaker phone as in #7.  Very bad quality, rating 1/10 for call quality.
Speaker phone on, covered bottom mic and help speaker phone in hand.  Really good quality, even an improvement over test #7.  Would give the call quality a 9.5/10.
Speaker phone on, placed face down on table.  Volume a bit low, a little muffled.  Call quality 6/10.
Speaker phone on, place face up on table.  A bit worse than test #10, low volume and a bit muffled.  Call quality is 5/10.
Based on these tests, I know this problem has nothing to do with the network CDMA connection.  It is obvious that the noise cancellation features are a bit too aggressive, or I have some hardware problem with one or both mics.
I question wether its really a hardware mic problem, because on non-speaker phone calls, talking directly into the bottom mic gives great quality.  And on Speaker phone, covering the bottom mic makes the speaker phone sound really good.  That's why I think there's something going on with the "Sense Sound" noise cancellation.
Is anyone else seeing the same issues?  I want to be able to hold the phone normal on a non speaker phone call and get good quality.
Looking for any tips and advice anyone can give.  Is it worth exchanging for a new one, as I am still in my 14 day window.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Any tips on what would be a good headset to use with iPhone 5with good bag round noise cancelation and good compatibility with Siri.

At first glance I would say "probably can be done using an FPGA as a target" since the FPGA can close a very fast loop.
But to do that with a microphone input on a PC running Windows...
I suspect that would be an exercise in futility.

  • MDR-NC31E noise cancelling not working?

    Hi,
I recently purchased a set of MDR-NC31E headphones for use with my Xperia Z3 (D6603).  The phone recognizes the headphones as the correct noise cancelling model when I plug them in, but I don't notice any noise cancelling happening.  With the headphones plugged in, I can easily hear the keyboard clicking noises of my coworker in the next cubicle (not especially loud, but I can hear it just as if I were wearing standard headphones).  I've tried the different settings (Office/Bus/Airplane), but don't notice any difference.  I've never had noise cancelling headphones before, so maybe I'm expecting too much.  Is there a way to determine whether these headphones are working correctly?
    Thanks!
    Solved!

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
One thing that you could try to see if they are working, is to activate "Power saver mode". This can be done when your headset is connected to the phone > Drag down the notification field > Tap "Noise cancelling is On" > Tap "Power saver mode".
When you lock the phone by pressing the ON/OFF button, you should hear everything pretty clear. And if you unlock the phone, the sound should be more dampened. In this way you should be able to determine if it works.

  • IPhone 5 voice call quality fade in and out. Noise Cancellation interference?

I've been having this huge problem with the iPhone5. The evidence i've collected seems to indicate this is a problem with all iPhone5's.
On calls in certain places both indoors and outdoors, the callers voices over the iPhone5 fade in and out. Their voices occasionally completely fade completely away, and only come back momentarily. The low volume for 50% of the time forces me to raise the volume, but raising the volume does not help because when the voice does come back, the volume is too loud for my ears.
I went back to the Apple store and they are not able to help me. They suggested a clean restore, which I did. They offered to replace the phone, which I did, but it is the same problem.
    - iPhone 5 vs. iPhone 4S, the fading does not occur. I make the call to the same voice mail system I have, and the sounds from the other side are consistently the same volume for the 4S, but fades in and out for the 5.
    - I connected up a 8mm jack between my iPhone 5 and my mac in an attempt to record this problem. In that instance, the sounds from the voice mail DO NOT fade in and out. I did find out that the dynamic range on the iPhone 5 is MUCH greater than that of the iPhone 4S, for some strange reason.
    - When I hold the phone up to my ear, the fading in and out does occur, but it is less noticeable. But it's still there.
    - When I leave my work area the problem goes away. However, because the iPhone 4S on the same AT&T service does not have this problem, this leads me to believe it's NOT a lack of transmission power from the AT&T cell tower. Rather, it is a reception issue at the iPhone5 side.
    - I turned off LTE, data and then made the calls. Same issue.
I use this phone to make 60 minute calls for conference calls frequently. I cannot use it. Please advise. I am seriously considering returning this phone. Except i've sold my old iPhone 4 already. I'm in a bad place. Please help.
Here's another post of a fellow with the same exact problem.
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1456404
Apple, please look into this. I believe this is a problem with the noise cancellation software.

I've got an update on this problem with fading volume. I've isolated it to the set volume on the phone for voice calls when using headphones. When the headphone volume is set between 1 and 6 (out of 16 squares) the callers volume will consistently fade in and out. The fading which is normal to zero volume at 2-5 Hz is serious enough that normal conversation is impossible.  When the volume is raised above 6/16 then the callers voice stabilize and I can hear all their words again. Unfortunately, at 6/16 volume their voices are too loud for the headphones.
Furthermore, when headphones are plugged in, and I initial a call after the iphone5 was idle for several minutes, the first dial tone has preceded by a very loud pop an the tone, as though there was too much pressure (charge) that was dissipated all at once.
    Other details:
    - I used 3 different earphones, iPhone 4 headphones, altec earphones, an the new iPhone 5 earbuds. Same.
    - I turned on and off lte, data, Bluetooth, wifi. Problem persists unaffected.
    - when switching to iPhones earpiece and mic, the fading is gone.
    - I have 3 out of 5 bars where I teste this, in the city outside and on hwy 5 in central California. Same symptoms in all places I've tested.
    - I have exchanged my phone at the apple store. Same issue with both iPhones an I suspect all ipjone5s.
    - the ipjone4s does NOT have this problem when the volume is set lower. I can tell that the iPhone 5 must have a new audio filter to make the sounds have larger dynamic range. I liked the 4s better, because it is easier on the ears!

  • Trying to turn on the noise canceling for iphone 5c

I am having trouble with my hand free system in my CRV and I was told there is a noise canceling selection in the settings but I am not seeing it. I need to turn this feature on so I can reduce the magnified noise coming through my hands free system. I have an iphone 5c

I'm having a problem with echoing, and see where people suggest turning off Noise Cancellation, but that option does not appear in my Settings menu.  I go to Settings>General>Accessibility> but there is no Phone Noise Cancellation.
Where is it?  Why is it not in my menu?

Will turning this off stop the echoing I hear of myself when I am talking on a call?

  • Disabling Software Noise Cancellation

I recently purchased the Plantronics 925 bluetooth headset; it's a great little headset, but unfortunately it does not work correctly with OS X. As documented in [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1723787] the microphone of the device does not work correctly with OS X Leopard.
Now, as Conor Keenan [surmises in his post|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8065212#8065212] it would appear that the OS X built-in noise cancellation is the culprit here. From my own observations I'm inclined to agree, but this does not help, hence why I am posting.
So, what I'm hoping for is either:
    * A way to switch noise cancellation off, this option appears to have existed in OS X.4 Tiger so may still exist somewhere.
    * A way to get in touch with an Apple engineer who may be able to help, as it is seems a very simple feature to request for the gain it gives in headset compatibility.
    Any help is appreciated!

If you want to report this to Apple, send bug reports and enhancement requests to it via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure over submitting feedback is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

  • Why not use iPhone in car as active noise canceller.

The iPhone uses noise cancellation during conversations. Why not make that available in the car through the car audio to quiet the interior at all times?

I have one of those stereos bought from Ebay, no badge, no name, and with multitude of functions, and a mic attached to my visor. Once it is paired with Iphone, all my music and calls go through the car stereo.
for applications that do not direct Audio through BT such as CoPilot (GPS navigation) I connect the Iphone through headset socket and into the stereo AUX input and works great (all sounds, voice, calls) go through it. One disadvantage of this method is that I can't listen to the radio. Well you cannot have it all. Or perhaps there is a Radio application where it plays in the background while I still use my GPS application.

  • Noise canceling for listening to music

    Hi there,
is there any way to use the noise canceling system in the Z30 for listening to music? It is unusually for me that you can connect headphones in two different ways. The headset delivered with the phone does not mute the speakers of the phone when connected. Normal headphones does. Is there a similar possibility to connect earphones with micophones for noise cancelling like seen on the Sony Z2? What can I do? Thanks in advance.

Noise cancelling has to be done with the earphone or headset itself. The noise cancellation is very phase critical. The receiver (michrophone) that picks up the background noise must be located very close to where the sound is outputting to the speaker device.
Noise is cancelled by using very precise audio amplification of the ambient sounds or noise, and applying the noise in exact opposte phase and level to the noise that is in the background along with the sound.
You need a headset with the noise cancelling option, and this should work for you. The good ones are fairly expensive. They don't work 100%, but usually this feature is better than not having it at all.
