Noise Ninja Problem when downloading images from Epson P-3000 hard drive

I've just downloaded JPEG images from my Epson P-3000 hard drive and when I try to sharpen the images using Noise Ninja plug-in in Aperture I get the following error message: Editing Error. This image cannot be rendered for editing because Aperture does not support the image format. I don't have any issues using Noise Ninja with other images (using latest Aperture version) and this is the first time i've downloaded images from the Epson rather than my memory card. I'm wondering if the issue is related to the Epson. The metadata of the image in Aperture confirms that the image is a JPEG so I'm not sure what's going on.

UNICODE Problem when Download/Upload from ASC file.

Due to the Unicode system takes each Chinese character as a byte, the field(10) can take 10 Chinese Characters, not like before only 5 characters allowed.
The problem is when the data is downloaded to a txt file, the field ,length 10, contained Characters, is displayed 10 Chinese characters(that's 20 bytes in txt file). It causes the displayed field length are changed.
ex.
text = '12@@@@@00012345'.
text = text+0(12) --> display '12@@@@@' the output I actually want.
text = text+0(12) --> display '12@@@@@00012' Unicode makes this in txt file,
the Chinese characters cannot display properly, so just assume each '@' as a Chinese character.
How to make system take the Chinese characters as 2 bytes when download....or any other better idea for this?

Savings images from Aperture to external hard drive

I have a basic question about the file structure on Aperture and mac's. I'm an old pc user, so I have not had a chance to investigate the structures yet and hoped I could get some guidance on this.
If I import several images from a camera SD card into Aperture, the images are deleted when the import has finished. How do I later copy the images from Aperture to say an external hard drive?

Bjorn -- welcome to the forum.
Aperture is an image database. The Aperture database is called a Library. The database consists of a list of Images, the files needed to create those Images, and a whole bunch of data associated with each Image.
The files needed are the originally imported file, and the set of instructions Aperture uses to "adjust" the original to create your adjusted Image. On import, the original file becomes a Master. The Master is _never_ altered (this is the "non-destructive" advantage of this kind program). Aperture doesn't care where the Master is stored, as long as it can find it (it should be a locally attached drive). If you let Aperture store the file itself, it puts it inside the Library. If you tell Aperture where you want to store it (other than than in the Library), Aperture makes note of this by storing a pointer to the location you choose.
Masters stored in the Library are called "Managed Masters". Masters stored outside the Library are called "Referenced Masters".
(The file listing the Adjustments is the Version. The Version is always stored in the Aperture Library. Versions are small text files. The cost in storage and read-time is so minimal it can be ignored.)
So:
- Library (presumably in your Pictures Finder-folder)
- - Master
- - Version
or
- Library (presumably in your Pictures Finder-folder)
- - Pointer to Master
- - Version
- Master (wherever you specify)
There is no connection between Aperture and any data files that are not imported into the Library.
If you make copies of your photograph files prior to import (an excellent practice), there is no connection between Aperture and the copy you do not import.
Here is a short guide I posted to the parts of Aperture every new user should know well. Read through it, and ask questions as you move forward.
Note that making backup copies of your originals, copying or moving your originals, and making them Managed or Referenced Masters are all options presented in the Import dialogs.

You need to copy the data onto your computer and transfer it via that (either via iTunes, or if the app that you want to transfer the data to supports, via wifi). Like the previous reply said, you can't do it directly without a computer being involved.

How do I keep a time machine sparsebundle image from filling up my hard drive to the point where it chokes and breaks the backups?

I have several machines in the office using Time Machine over a network to back up to a partitioned hard drive on our network. The size of the partition for each machines backup is ~3x the size of the data being backed up. Everthing hums along fine until the backup disk is almost full. Some of the Tme Machine backups sieze up because they almost completely run out of room on the target disk. There is so little room that even if I can mount the backup disk, there doesn't seem to be enough room to delete the older backups. Isn't Time Machine supposed to be smart enough to ditch the old backup first to avoid this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated regarding 1. How to make the siezed up backups work again; and 2. How to keep this from happening in the future.

Is it possible to download photos from ipad to external hard drive?

I am wondering if it would be possible to use ipad with retina to get photos from camera to an external hard drive? We are hoping to do this for holiday snaps over an extended period without having to take a laptop with us.

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.

McAfee Siteadvison 3.1 warns that FF 3.6.8 has problems when downloading directly from Mozilla

FF 3.6.7 popped up a download msg telling me that 3.6.8 was avaliable to correct problems. The update seemed to go as expected, but when I opened the new version and went directly to Mozilla to download a copy of the program from there, McAfee's Siteadvisor 3.1 popped up a warning that the download contained suspicious content.

Probably a false positive, due to McAfee not being ready for the Firefox update. If they took the time to keep up with impending Firefox updates, they could avoid inconveniencing their customers.

I have a set of URL's in a hashtable. Now using the the enumerator, for each URL, I am trying to download the Image. The example for the image URL is something like this:

Looks like you are looping back on DNS with the router. The ADSL modem should
only have DNS entries for the ISP, not the router. The routers WAN interface should get the ISPs DNS Servers, but should not use itself as this will also create another loopback.

See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. If you have windows and you can't get autoplay to prompt you what to do when your phone is connected see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1500, but instead of choosing "Take no action" set it to "Prompt for which program to run".
If you can't get this to work you could always try using Photo Stream if you meet the necessay system requirements for iCloud (see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/). Or, you could use an app like PhotoSync to wirelessly transfer your photos to your computer.

It seems to be a problem with logging in App Store in the Mac (Yosemite 10.10.2).
When I tried the very same userid and password I was able to login in to use my iCloud account from the same computer and also from my iPhone.
