Noise On Stored Playlists

Lately I have been experiencing noise on playlists which for months have been playing fine. I have tried listening to it without the headphones, thinking that perhaps the connection to the headphones was bad or even that they needed replacing, but I get the same noise on the computer speakers. I've tried adjusting different sound settings, but that doesn't work either.
Any advice on how I can clear this up?

This is actually a common problem with smartphones being near any audio electronics ... Blackberry, iPhone, Droid, Palm, etc. - they all do it, although Blackberry seems to do this more than the others. Usually sounds like morse code being tapped out. It's some kind of EMI interference, not always present. We get it often, even on our speakerphones when someone in the room has a smartphone close to the phone.
Just keep your iPhone far enough away that you don't get the intereference. Not much more you can do.

  • Complicated Playlist question

Recently, I got a new desktop. I was just going to move the old hard drive into the new computer as a secondary, but we couldn't remove the drive. So we copied the information over. Now, I was worried about playlists and edits I had made to track information, but that appears to have mostly carried over. However, I was missing at least one playlist (I had a hard copy and replaced it), and I've lost about half of another playlist. I was hoping that there was a file that stored Playlist contents in a readable fashion, like iTunes Music Library.XML but with playlists.
I'd be happy just to be able to lay the two versions--the old pre-migration and the current--of my playlists side by side and then manually edit them to match more. Is this an option?

Have you tried to play one of the songs in iTunes? It should then ask you to authorize them.

  • Lost playlist in n73me

The music player does not show earlier stored playlists, also some songs have dissapeared from music player view.

    Hello,
    I gotta be more specific:
    1. The hard reset is to be done by pressing *#7370#.
It will clean the phone memory and refresh the system again.
So you should back up the phone memory content through latest PC Suit.
    ===========
When you connect the phone as USB drive.
The drive appears on My Computer.
Right click on it,choose properties, a new pop-up will come, select tools
    then select error checking ,
then put the tick mark on on
    1.automatically fix file system errors,
2.scan for and attempt of bad sectors.
    It is only a trick.
    It works like a treat.
    But worth a try.

  • How to sync two iTunes libraries between two Macs?

I have two macs (Mavericks) plus the latest version of iTunes. What I want to do is to mirror any change I do on one library to the other iTunes library using Google Drive (iTunes Library Mac 1 to iTunes Library Mac 2 and vice versa).
I installed Google Drive on both of my Macs. It works pretty well at mirroring changes in .mp3 files names changes I do (i.e. My_Song.mp3 to MY_SONG.mp3), new files I add or files I delete...
But there are two things I can't sync right now. Playlists and files info attributes (i.e. when I change the soundtrack Genre of one of my soundtrack it doesn't sync with the same soundtrack on my other mac).
I know I can export+import playlist but I don't know how to actually sync playlists using Google Drive. iTunes has a special way of "storing" playlists. What I want is, for example, I create/modify a playlist on my Mac1 and it sync to Mac2 via Google sync.
So, how can I make my playlists + any changes I make on my soundtracks (not the mp3 files) sync between my Macs using Google Drive?
    Thank you.

Apple's attempt at doing this is Home Sharing but that's more of a track by track basis, not the whole library.  The only way you will get it to automatically "sync" is to share a common set of library files with both computers (note, only one computer can open a library file at a time).

  • Looking for suggestions for specialized tone generator

An office colleague has two tuning forks: one is middle C and the other is G. When she strikes them and holds them near my ears for several seconds, one on each side, the effect is amazing. Then she reverses their position, to continue my nearly trancelike state.
I want to find an application that will duplicate this effect. I can't find a tone generator that will create two tones simultaneously, one on each channel, much less reverse channels at some point. I am guessing there are music or mixing applications that can do this effortlessly, but I am too dumb to identify them. Will some kind soul help me out? If no app is available I may try to develop an app for that and get rich.

In the waveform display, select the part of the audio file containing only the noise you want to reduce. Choose Process>Set Noise Print. The selected noise is stored as a noise print. Then, in the waveform display, select the part of the audio file in which you want to reduce noise (probably the whole file in your case), and choose Process>Reduce Noise. When the reduce Noise dialog appears, drag the noise threshhold slider to the right just a bit (I take it down to about -45db to -40db), and click the play button in that dialog window to preview the file. If you like what you hear, press Apply.
FYI, this was taken nearly word for word from the Soundtrack Pro user manual, pp168-169.
    Happy denoising.

  • Still can't listen to Style from Taylor Swift's CD1989

I still continue to hear the 8 seconds of static that was released a week before the album was released, and now going on a few days after it has been released it still made that noise on my playlist. I had hopes that if I deleted the cd that i would be able to redownload the enitre thing and be able to get the song, instead now it wont let me download it at all and am now without the cd. Also the itunes store had given me a credit, presumably for the song style when it had gotten released properly and am now out that money because of the static it forced me to purchase due to the pre-order and am stuck now with a useless credit.

Are you certain you have deleted ALL of MacKeeper?
    Some things to check:

    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3036
(Please note that references to the original developers, Zeobit, should now refer to Kromtech Alliance Corp, who acquired MacKeeper and PCKeeper from ZeoBit LLC in early 2013.
If after you go thru all these steps; Then uninstall Flash:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
Then reinstall the latest version 11.9.900.170  select your OSX from the installer, set Safari preferences "Save downloaded files to:" select desk top, in the drop down select other, then select desktop from the left column, this will put the stand alone installer on your desk top, open it and follow the prompts, close all applications prior to starting the install. When the install has completed, click done, quit (if necessary) and log out, reboot and log back in.

  • Sound Soap equivalent in Soundtrack Pro 2?

Does anyone know if there is an equivalent to Bias Sound Soap in Soundtrack Pro 2? Sound Soap clears hum and etc. while preserving the good sound. It has an easy to use interface - particularly important for newbies like me.

I haven't seen SoundSoap but Soundtrack Pro 2.0 has a "Noise Reduction" feature.
    Here are the instructions :-
    Noise Reduction
Some audio files contain unwanted noise, making it difficult to hear the voices, music, or
other content of the file. Soundtrack Pro features two commands, Set Noise Print and
Reduce Noise, that you can use together to reduce noise in an audio file or selection.
    Set Noise Print
The Set Noise Print command lets you select part of an audio file containing only the
noise that you want to remove as a “noise print.” The noise print provides a signature of
the frequencies to reduce or remove from the file.
Setting the noise print before reducing noise is optional. If you do not set a noise print
before using the Reduce Noise command, Soundtrack Pro extracts a noise print from
the selected part of the audio file. If there is an existing noise print, it will be used, even
if it is from a different audio file, unless you set a new noise print.
To set part of an audio file as a noise print:
1 In the waveform display, select the part of the audio file containing only the noise you
    want to reduce.
2 Choose Process > Noise Reduction > Set Noise Print.
The selected noise is stored as a noise print.
    Reduce Noise
The Reduce Noise command uses the frequency content of the noise print to reduce
noise in the audio file or selection.
To reduce noise using the noise print:
1 In the waveform display, select the part of the audio file in which you want to reduce noise.
2 Choose Process > Noise Reduction > Reduce Noise.
The Reduce Noise dialog appears. In the Reduce Noise dialog, you can optionally set
the noise threshold and tone for noise reduction. You can also preview the noise
    reduction with the dialog open.
The noise threshold determines the level below which audio in the noise print is
considered to be noise. Lowering the threshold results in only very low signals being
reduced, while raising the threshold results in more high-level signals being reduced.
To set the threshold of the noise reduction:
m In the Reduce Noise dialog, drag the Noise Threshold slider left to lower the threshold,
or drag it right to raise the threshold. You can also type a value (in decibels) in the
    Noise Threshold field.
To set the amount of noise reduction:
m Drag the Reduction slider left to decrease the amount of noise reduction, or drag it
right to increase the amount of noise reduction.
To change the tone of the noise reduction:
m In the Reduce Noise dialog, drag the Tone Control slider left to preserve more
low-frequency content (bass), or drag it right to preserve high-frequency content
    (treble) during noise reduction.
You can preview noise reduction with the Reduce Noise dialog open and adjust the
threshold and tone of noise reduction. You can also hear the audio file or selection with
and without noise reduction, or hear only the noise to be removed.
To preview the file with noise reduction:
m Click the Play button in the lower part of the Reduce Noise dialog.
To set the preview volume level:
m Drag the Volume slider in the lower part of the Reduce Noise dialog left to lower the
volume or right to raise the volume.
To compare the file with and without noise reduction:
m Click the Bypass button to hear the file without noise reduction. Click the button again
to hear the file with noise reduction.
To hear only the noise to be removed:
m Select the Noise Only checkbox.
To use a noise reduction preset:
1 In the Reduce Noise dialog, click Show Presets.
    The Presets drawer appears.
2 In the Presets drawer, select a preset from either the Factory Presets or User Presets list.
    3 Click Apply.
    Is that simple enough ?
You can also set and add ambient noise.
    Ian.

I have my iTunes music folder stored on an external hard drive.  I recently purchases a new Mac.  After attaching the external hard drive, all songs imported without a problem except my playlists.  Any clue about where they are or how to revive them for use on my new Mac?
    Thanks!

To retain your playlists, artwork, play counts, etc, you need to move the entire iTunes folder, not just the music files..
    Correct.
After that just select the new folder location in iTunes> Advanced settings.
    Incorrect.
    Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select the iTunes folder.
This will read the iTunes library.itl file in this folder and the library as it was previously will be opened.

  • My music is stored on iCloud and when I'm playing a playlist, it'll only play the track I choose and won't go on to the next one, it just repeats the one I selected. Any ideas please?

    Hi
All my music is stored on iCloud but when I try and play music from a playlist, the iPhone 4 will only play the track I select and won't progress on to the next one. It just keeps repeating the one I selected. Does anyone else have this problem? Many thanks.

  • Are Itunes playlists stored in Previous System folder

I re-installed Leopard and my old files are stored in a folder called previous system. I tried to find back the playlists that I had running under Itunes, but I can not find them in this previous system folder. Therefore my questions: Are they backed-up into this folder and if so, where are they located.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jan

Unless you made a separate backup, playlists are referenced in the iTunes Library file and the iTunes Library .XML file: iTunes: How to backup and restore playlists
The iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). You'll get more information including the Folder/File structure in this article: What are the iTunes library files?

  • Playlists stored in folders not accessible when using CarPlay

Could this be the first CarPlay question?
Today I upgraded my Pioneer 4000NEX receiver with the firmware from Pioneer that enabled CarPlay support.  I didn't play with it too much but long enough to see that I could not access any of the music playlists I have stored in folders.  The folders themselves would show up but when I tapped on one of the folders it would not do anything.
Is this an Apple or a Pioneer issue?

    Hi,
There are a few facts to take into account here. First the ViewFields FieldRef Name attribute always refers to the internal name of the
field. Secondly the item[ string ] indexer can refer to DisplayName, StaticName or InternalName. So if you have overlapping names you are not sure which field will be referred with item[ string ]. The best way is to user item[ Guid ] instead and get the
Guid by either calling the method GetFieldByInternalName. For example
    SPListItem item = GetItem();
    item.Fields.GetFieldByInternalName(internalName );
You also always must remember to check for NULL before calling .ToString();<o:p></o:p>
So in summary. Make sure you know which field you refer and always check for NULL before calling .ToString()

  • Burned playlist emits a strange noise between tracks

I have burned a playlist temporarily to a CD-RW and, when played back on my car cd-player, a very brief 'zzzzzp' noise is emitted between tracks. When I say playlist, it is in fact 20 tracks contained within a folder that I've created in ITunes. Could the fact that it is not a pure playlist be the problem? If not, any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hello Brenden and thanks for the reply.
I converted the ITunes format to MP3 so that it would play on my home cd player which the manufacturer tells me is the only format it will play. I don't get the 'zzzzzp' noise on there, only in the car which is obviously a different make. I also used MP3 because I wanted all the info about the tracks to be displayed, which I believe will not with audio cd format.
I'm at the CD-RW stage at the moment because I'm still deciding on track order and didn't want to commit to CD-R until that's over. The CD-RW is playing in both my home cd player and the car. I may just have to wait and see as you suggest with the CD-R.

  • I cannot play my playlists through my sonos system. Itunes is stored on a NAS drive

  • If I set up the ICloud, does that mean that all of my songs will be stored in Icloud? can I delete the library from my PC and only choose what playlists I want on PC?

If I set up the ICloud, does that mean that all of my songs will be stored in Icloud? can I delete the library from my PC and only choose what playlists I want on PC?

    Thank you
    I realize they are separate
I will do music match so that all of my songs are in ICloud
Do I need to keep the library on my PC or can I download whatever playlists I want stored on the device at that time.
Example: I have almost 1G of Christmas Music - because it is on my PC in my llibrary they sync to my ipod touch every time - i really want those stored somewhere else so they do not sync [or take space on my pc] with exception to one month per year.
I am thinking I can create space on my PC and Touch by storing songs on icloud that i do not listen to regularly; I am also thinking I can request songs by playlist to download to my touch or PC
Is that a clearer question or am I just confusing myself??

  • Playlist with DMP locally stored content ?

    Hi everyone
I am new with DMP and have two questions. DMS system in my LAB contains DMS 5.2 and couple DMPs 4400. I was able to upload java script along with required content into DMP (using FTP) and start presentation from DMP. Requirement is to change that DMP content every day !
Q1: Is it possible to upload content to DMP using scheduler or any other application or every time I need to manually change locally stored files?
Q2: Is it possible to create playlist or scheduler to play DMP locally stored assets (html, flash…)?
    Thanks,
    O

    Good afternoon,
What you are looking for is the "Cisco DMS Content Distribution" mechanism (check
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/digital_media_systems/5_x/5_2/dmm/user/guide/dmp/cds.html#wp2183551 for details)
In short, the way this works is the following:
You create a normal playlist on the DMM
With a Content Deployment task launched from the DMM you upload all the required content (in fact, only the files that changed since last deployment) to a group of DMP
Once the deployment has finished, you start they playlist from an automatically generated "Go to Url" task
If you need further clarification on any of the points mentioned in the documentation link I sent you, please, do not hesitate to contact me again.
    Best regards
    Daniel
