Noise reduction on track1 using noise print from track2

I have an audio track from a video project that was recorded on track1 that has a lot of interference from the wirelss mic that was so strong that it crossed over to the idle track2. Track1 has the voice and interference intermixed. Track2 just has the interference. How can I take a noise print from track2 and use it to reduce the corresponding noise on track1? Any ideas?

In addition, to make the process more challenging, I am unable to get the audio in the edit frame to play at the same gain as in the multi-track frame. In edit mode I seem to be at a 0db gain whereas the multi-track is playing at over 12 to 20db.
I am also unclear how to get the changes back to Final Cut. When I go to File to save it I do not see a Save option that would transfer the edited audio back to the Final Cut Project.
For the additional items you mention:
1. In your multi-track project, check your volume envelopes on the track, and check the level on your submix and master. To do this, click the the disclosure triangle just left of the track name. You'll see in purple the envelopes section, which is like keyframes in FCP.
2. You have to export a mix to send it back to FCP. Go to File -> Export, save the master mix with a file name, and most likely as an aiff file, then in the dropdown "After Export" choose "Send to Final Cut Pro Sequence."
For your noise reduction questions - applying noise reduction is for broadband, sustained noise, like an air conditioner or a hum. Are you trying to apply the same noise reduction to several files because they have the same type of background noise? I generally just save my settings, but set a new noise print for each file. I'll give you a quick step by step:
Select a bit in the file where there's JUST noise. Then go to Process -> Noise Reduction -> Set Noise Print. Then select the entire file, and go to Process -> Noise Reduction -> Reduce Noise. When the noise reduction window comes up, you just need to listen and play with the settings until you're satisfied with how it sounds. As a starting point, take a look at the level of the noise alone, and use that as the threshold. Usually 100% noise reduction doesn't sound good, but you just have to use some trial and error. Too much sounds worse than too little, in my opinion. When satisfied, apply it and save the preset.
Hope this helps!

  • Can a wireless printer be used to print from an android phone without internet connection?

I'm trying to print invoices at a trade show from my Android phone.  Are there any wireless printers that can do that without an internet connection?  Does ePrint only work with an internet connection?

To print from your Android phone, you would need the HP ePrint Home & Biz app available for free from the Google Play store.
As for printing without an internet connection, your options are somewhat limited.
First thing you would want to do is make sure that you have a printer that is compatible with the ePrint Home & Biz app. A list of supported printers can be found here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile/Cloud-Services-Supported-Printers-ePrint-Airpr...
You next step would be to get a wireless router. You don't necessarily need an internet connection, just a router broadcasting a wireless signal. After you have the printer set up, you would want to connect it wirelessly to the router. Then you would want to connect your Android device to the same router. This will put both the printer and phone on the same network.
As long as both devices are on the same network, the ePrint Home & Biz app will search the network for compatible printers and your printer should show up in the list, allowing you to use the app to send print jobs to it.
However if you want to use the actual ePrint service, you will have to have an active internet connection. The way ePrint works is that your printer is assigned an email address and when you send something to that email address, it prints off on your printer. If the printer does not have an active internet connection, it has no way of reaching the servers and the print jobs will not print off. You actually wouldn't even be able to set up ePrint without being on an active internet connection.
Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • I do not have a computer.  What device can I use to print from my iPad?

I do not have a computer.  How can I print from my iPad?

Not sure what your question has to do with an Apple AirPort Express, Extreme or Time Capsule.
An AirPrint compatible printer will need to be installed on the wireless network there.
This Apple support document provides a list of AirPrint compatible printers:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
Some printers may require a computer for the installation. Check with the printer manufacturer's support team to make sure that you will be able to install the printer on your wireless network before you buy.

  • How do a print a PDF of a brochure that the printer can use to print from?

I have a brochure that is in color .... I want to print it in brochure format as a high quality pdf and then send it to the printer ... he will then use it to print the brochure.
    How do I do it?

From the File menu, choose Export. Choose PDF and the type of PDF you desire to create on that dialog box.
PDFX-1a and PDFX-4 are safe bets for your job. If your job has elements that bleed off the page, make sure you look at the section for printers marks, and that crop marks is set, along with any other options your printer specifies (like page info, color bars, etc).

  • Question regarding the creation of a custom dynamic stamp using "Will Print" from "Set Doc. Actions

    Hi all,
Using Acrobat 9.0 Professional, I have successfully created a dynamic stamp using the forums where I have added Login / Date to my own image and it works great as designed.  However, the problem I am having is that when a document is stamped it becomes flat and doesn't update dynamically which does not work for my requirements.
I need to create a pdf that is stamped by myself so that other users (using only Reader) can open the pdf and when printed the stamp will print with the correct date/time (in the format I describe below).
I found a workaround (outside of a stamp) where I added a text box (called "Today") that updates everytime the document is printed by going to
Advanced / Document Processing / Set Document Actions / Document Will Print
and adding the following Java Code:
    var f = this.getField("Today");
    f.value = util.printd('yyyymmddhMMss', new Date());
This provides me with the unique number that I need for printing  (ie: 20100317102030).  It works great as an inserted text field on my pdf.
My problem is that when I use the "create custom stamp" as in other tutorials by inserting this new text field, it will not update (or display) on print, even though it was set the exact same way as the custom stamp I got working using the Adobe dynamic stamp information.
Can you offer any advice on how I can get this to work as a custom stamp?  I would rather not have to create both a stamp and then overlay the text field manually as I have hundreds of documents (maybe more) to do this for.
Also, as an aside, if I could get this to work, I would also like to add Login ID that updates in the same manner as my custom date format (but one problem at a time I guess! )
Thanks for any and all help that you can provide.  I looked through these forums and elsewhere, but I don't seem to see anyone else with the same problems (with solutions posted).
I really wish Adobe had a Custom Stamp creator as part of their program, with the dynamic option.  It would be so easy for them and save a lot of users so much time.

Stamps are just like a inked rubber stamp, except in Acrobat you can suppress printing them and you can move them. So if you use a dated "Faxed" stamp when you fax a document, even though you can adjust the stamp before affixing the stamp, once the document is stamped the date on the document can not be changed or moved. It appears, that the use of a stamp might not be the best solution.
    "Interactive" means Acrobat JavaScript programing.
With JavaScript not only can you insert variable data but also fixed text strings or a combination of both.
So your script could be updated to something like:
    var f = this.getField("Today");
    f.value = "Printed : " + util.printd('yyyymmddhMMss', new Date());
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1333261#1333261
Getting the 'login name" will require some special JavaScript code being added to an application level JavaScript folder that runs upon initialization and is the data or function created is then accessed  by your PDF. This file will need to be installed on each user's system.

  • Using a Printer from a Windows Computer

Hi! I'm trying to get a USB printer that is hooked up to a windows machine on my network to work with my Mac. I've tried several ways to get it to work, but none have worked yet.Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    1) Open System Preferences, and click on Print & Fax. Since I don't have Leopard yet, I can't guide you though the exact dialog box (I know they eliminated Printer Setup Utility). I'll tell you what I did in Tiger and hope that it works in Leopard.
    2) Click the Plus button to add a new printer
    3) Select "More printers.." at the bottom of the dialog box
    4) Select Windows printing and navigate to the windows computer by double clicking on the workgroup, then the computer. You might be prompted for your Windows username and password
    5) Select the printer. At the bottom, select the manufacturer (Print Model: currently says "Generic") and the model. If the EXACT model isn't listed, check is it is listed at http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/pSupportedPrinters.php3. If so, install Gutenprint (http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3.) I'm not sure if it works with Leopard. Let me know if it doesn't. Gutenprint install addition print drivers. After the installation, repeat steps 1-4. This time, after selecting the manufacturer and the new drivers will appear at the bottom of the screen.
    6) Click Add.
That's all I had to do (with some trial and error to figure out how to install the right drivers...then I found Gutenprint. Hope it works for you and let me know if it works in Leopard.

  • Capture Noise Print doesn't stick

I had to reinstall Audition CC to restore broken Dynamic Linking with Premiere. Now, whenever I capture a Noise Print then open the Noise Reduction process, it hasn't retained the profile. I have to capture from within the NR process in order to get a print. Simple enough to do but was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this.

I've also had it happen before and, like you, assumed it was me so I didn't report it.
Today I was being fairly careful because I was going to write a "did you do xxx" reply to the OP--and my first try didn't retain the noise print where my second one on the same recording did.
One thing I noticed was that the graphic display appeared to give noise print details but they's wouldn't move when I adjusted the sliders.
Possibly an intermittant bug?  Certainly one to keep an eye on.
    Edited to add an update:
Playing with the NR and noise print, it appears that the first time after opening Audition, if you use "Capture Noise Print" (Cntrl P) from the main "twirl down" it doesn't stick.  Subsequent uses of the facility are fine but, once you've closed Audition and re-opened it, you get another "blank".  I suspect the reason I've not noticed this properly before is that I quickly learned there are fewer clicks to simply go into NR and grab the noise print from there rather than get one "on the way in" as it were.
Anyhow, that's what's happening on my machine.

  • Capture Noise Print (problem) - Soundbooth CS4

    Hello,
I am having a "Capture Noise Print" problem with Soundbooth CS4.
    I have 2 audio files:
File A (this is my noise print) I recorded a 4 minute file (.wav) of the ventilation system.
File B (this is the audio file that I want to improve: I want to remove the background noise of the ventilation system.
Q: How can I remove the background sound from File B using the noise print from File A?
I can only achieve this when both sounds are on the same file. Soundbooth CS4 doesn’t let me do this process when there are on separate audio files...(the box for "Capture Noise Print" is grey and cannot be selected)
    Thanks for your time.

I have the exact same problem... I do this..
    1.  Select 5 seconds of silence
    2.  Click Capture Noise Print
    3.  Select select a silent area
    4.  Click Noise..
    5.  Click "Preview".. whether On/Off buton is on/off, AND with Use Capture Noise Print selected, I hear no reduction.  Even at 100%/3dB
If I uncheck the "Use Captured Noise Print" option, then noise is removed, but I get the robotic voice
    CS5 latest updates.
    Any ideas?
    TIA
EDIT::  Interesting.. closing SB, then reopening seems to resolve the issue.  Every so often it does the same thing, so I have to close/reopen SB.

  • Round trip problems: Trying to remove "noise print"

    Hi,
I am having trouble understanding the nature of STP's round-trip capabilities.
I have a 40 minute FCP timeline (FCP v5.1.4 on an MacPro). I need to remove some camera "hum" from the majority of the clips (I have 6 clips total).
My problem began about a week ago when creating a sample clip for the client to see, I used the Send To > STP Multi-track project. I opened the audio clips in the waveform editor and did a reduce noise print for both clips (I had to do this twice for each side of the stereo clips). When going back to FC, I felt the reduce noise was too strong, so I tried to return to the ST Multitrack project and could not undo the reduce noise print. When I checked the actual "capture" clip in the FCP Capture Scratch folder - the reduce noise is saved onto the clip - How and why did STP make that a destructive edit?
My second issue is with regards to removing the noise print from all the other clips. Do I need to individually edit each clip segment to reduce the noise print? And if so - is there a way to do this non-destructively?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    -J

I'm guessing here a little . . . you may have done a save when in "audio file project". That will over write a master clip's audio. Simply return to the multitrack project and do a save there instead. Then, the effects will be saved to the sent file, not the master clip.
Also, anytime I know I'm going to be doing some "heavy duty" audio sweetening, I duplicate the timeline. That way, anything goes awry, I've got a clean timeline to return to.

  • Can't load noise print

    Hello,
I recorded a video of some drummers on my Sony Nx5u at a local middle school.  Before anybody arrived, I took 10 seconds of video so that the camera's audio track would have a sample of the room tone.
So, from Premiere, I chose to edit the room tone clip in Audition, sampled a noise print and adjusted so it was what I wanted.
Then, I returned to Premiere, and this time chose to edit the actual performance clip in Audition.  I chose Effects/Noise Reduction/Noise Reduction (process).  Then I chose to "Load a noise print from disk", but when I attempt to load my previously saved FFT file, I get the following error:
    Statistics Incompatible
Current wave format is not compatible with that saved in "D:\Clients....   .... Nx5u Noise Print.fft.
It's the exact same type of recording for my 10 second clip as for my long performance clip.
Any idea why I'm getting this?
    Thanks,
    Rick Gates
    [email protected]

Hey SteveG, thanks for writing back.
I did have the same FFT file for both... not sure why it didn't work.
However, I suspected that the problem might lie with the fact that I was trying to do all this after syncing to my off-camera recording (Zoom X1), even though what I was sending to Audition was only the audio clip from my Nx5u camera.
So instead, I recreated the Premiere project from scratch, and did the noise print and subsequent noise reduction on the camera's audio first... it went flawlessly.  Then I did the sync with PluralEyes.
So, a little bit longer process, but in the future I'll do the noise reduction on any camera audio before attempting to sync.
    Thanks for all the help,
    Rick
