Noisy sharing photos by email, Noisy sharing photos by email

Whenever I share by email a photo from inside iPhoto, my iPad makes high pitch and uncomfortable noise!   Can it be stopped, or change to more comfortable and softer sound? How?

Thanks Nitro.  It works the way you suggested.
It happened after the installation / update of iPhoto, Yahoo Mail and Gmail apps on iPad two weeks ago.  One of them should have changed the settings of "Sent Mail".

I want to share photos by  email attachments and photo mail but they do not work. I currently have Windows Live Mail and use Photoshop elements 9.  Any solutions

Sorry. It doesn’t work if you installed MS Live Essentials 2011.
Use Windows Live Gallery and make sure your recipients can connect.

  • ICloud Photo Library and Family Sharing

Does anyone know how the iCloud Photo Library and Family Sharing accounts interact?  I'd rather not have to specify what to share with the rest of the family if I don't have to.

Each family member has their own Apple ID, but uses the main one for purchases.  It seems to make sense that each AppleID could have its own Photos library, but I can't find anything in the support area that says this to be the case definitively.  I want each family member to have their own Photos library that syncs between their iPhone and their ID. I hope that's how it works.

  • Shared Stream not showing all shared photos on all devices

So, we have setup a shared stream in Photos to share family moments.  The main issue we are experiencing is that on my iPhone I am not able to see contributions from one family member, but on my iPad they show up.  Both are iOS 7, and have been through all the troubleshooting steps though have not done the "turn off sharing, and delte all photos" step.  Any ideas on why or how that would be happeing?  Thanks!

You can apparently force ios6 devices to receive the subscriber contributed photos by turning off shared photo streaming and turning it back on again. It is under General Troubleshooting in the following link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4379
A similar workaround did not work with iPhoto 11.
To get around this, I've been re-sharing the subscriber contributed content and deleting the original from the stream. They show up, but not a very elegant solution.

  • Photos tells me it is connecting to Library for shared photos. It's been saying this for about ten hours. I can't stop it from searching or get it to do anything else. I can go back to my photos but I can't get Photos to find the shared items.

Be sure Safari does not have the Block Pop-Up Windows preference set.
Where I work now there are several unencrypted VLANs that require authentication, and Safari promptly pops up a window for me to register every time.

    Hello JimS19,
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iPad. If you are having issues accessing your Shared Albums from your iPad (but not from your other devices), you may want to double-check your iCloud Photo Sharing configuration as outlined in the following articles, just to make sure it hasn't changed:

Photo sharing - I used to love the Photo Gallery option in IPhoto. That feature was dropped. I find PhotoStream on the iPhone but what to do from my desktop/laptop? I don't like to organize photos on my phone.

If you have the proper software PhotoStream is available on all of your devices

Can a photo book created in i photo be saved as a pdf or shared online in any way with a customer before printing?

Sure - once you make a PDF you can e-mail or share it as you want - although they can be large so you need a share capability for large file

  • HT201317 My photos in photo stream automatically are shared with other people?

Are my photos in photo stream when the option of shared photo streams is on, are they shared with other people automatically?

Your photos are not shared automatically. You must select photos and share them with others manually.

  • Iphone not recognizing photos put into the shared folder

I'm trying to import new photos from a shared folder. I just dragged photos from my main account into the shared folder so other accounts on the same computer can drag them into their own iphoto. I had three sources of the new photos; canon camera, iphone4 and a sony. They are all working fine in my main account but when one of my user accounts tries to drag these iPhoto complains many of the photos are not recognized. After some discovery I found that many of these are "read only" and if I make it read/write it fixed the issue. I can't seem to find a way to use the "info" to change all the files at the same time. I have hundreds of photos I need to do this to.
Is there any other solution to this problem?
Was there a better way to do this from the start to avoid this situation?
    This is very frustrating...
    Thanks

Is there any other solution to this problem?
    Use iPhoto Sharing:
Enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account(s). In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.

  • Duplicate Photos and iPhoto Library Sharing

My first question is about sharing my iPhoto library.  I would like to buy a Time Capsule to back up all of my computers.  I've been told not to use that to store all of my pictures, only to use it for backups. I wish there were an easy way to share my iPhoto library between users on the same computer, and combine libraries between computures.  If you know of any easy solution to this please let me know.  Most of my pictures are on my iMac with one account.  My macbook pro has two accounts set up.  I'd like to be able to put them all in the same place, or at least select many to have in just one account for all users to access. Is there an easy way to do that? Could I connect a USB hard drive to my Time Capsule soly for iPhoto? My other question is, when I put pictures in my account iPhoto, and then put the same pictures into my wife's account on the same computer (because she'd like to see them also, edit them ect.) am I using twice as much space on my hard drive?

I wish there were an easy way to share my iPhoto library between users on the same computer,
For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
    What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
    and combine libraries between computures.
You can merge Libraries with the paid version ($20) of iPhoto Library Manager
Could I connect a USB hard drive to my Time Capsule soly for iPhoto?
    Yes... but.
Would this be a wired or wireless connection to the Library? WIred is fine. Wireless is fine for viewing.
However:  A strong warning: If you're trying to edit the Library (that is, make albums, move photos around, keyword, make books or slideshows etc.) or edit individual photos in it via Wireless be very careful. Dropouts are a common fact of wireless networking, and should one occur while the app is writing to the database then your Library will be damaged. Simply, I would not do this with my Libraries.
when I put pictures in my account iPhoto, and then put the same pictures into my wife's account on the same computer (because she'd like to see them also, edit them ect.) am I using twice as much space on my hard drive?
    Yes.

  • IPhoto '11 - Photo Home Sharing (a la iTunes Home Sharing)

So my wife and I use one Mac and we have our own logins. We have enabled simultaneous user logins to save us having to log off each time the other needs the computer.
However this means that we can't use a shared location for our iPhoto '09 library because it's not set up for multi-user access so at the moment, all my wife can do is view photos from my library, she can't copy them or edit them or create a new album or upload them to facebook etc.
I was hoping that the next iteration of iPhoto ('11) would have something along the lines of Home Sharing for iTunes where my wife could copy photos/albums into her own library for syncing to her phone, uploading to her own facebook account etc.
Can anyone tell me if such functionality exists in iPhoto '11?
    Thanks,
    Glyn

It exists since iPhoto 4 or 5. It's called Sharing:
For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:

In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window. Once there they can do anything they want with them - edit, share, upload print etc
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.

  • Photo stream no longer shared- unable to share stream anymore.

All of a sudden when I try to invite people to my photo stream it sends the link but when they click on it it says photo stream no longer shared.

I have this same issue - iPhone 4S running IOS 7.0.4...
eg;  today I took 10 pix - only ONE went to the stream - annoying!

  • I created a iMovie with photos, music and titles; shared it with the media browser and burned it on a DVD RDL. The disc will play on my MacBook Pro, but it will not play on my Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player or a smaller portable DVD player. Why?

I created an iMovie with photos, music and titles; shared it with the media browser and burned it on a DV+RDL. The disc will play on my MacBook Pro, but it will not play on my Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player or a smaller portable DVD player. Why?

Probably because they don't accept that media.
Try using Verbatim DVD+DL (if your project exceeds 2 hours) or Verbatim DVD-R if it doesn't.

  • Find photos that aren't shared

Aperture photo sharing (via iCloud) is easy to setup but it seems really difficult to maintain.
    - it's well-established, it seems, that there is no way to have shared photos automatically pick up subsequent edits.
    - not all the photos I selected to share actually got shared. I can't just select the same set to be shared, because then duplicate images of the ones already shared will be added. Is there a way to find photos that are in a given album/project but not shared? At least that way I can just re-add the ones that, for whatever reason, didn't make it the first time (though, it does seem like some photos stubbornly refuse to be shared).
I tried creating a smart album based on photos in a given project but not in project path "icloud" (the shared photos indicate they are in project path "icloud"), but that didn't work. Which makes sense, since they are basically separate photos.
Since it seems shared photos are treated as separate copies in their own "project" I don't think there is a way to figure out which photos are not already shared, unfortunately.
All my photos are jpgs. Aperture 3.5.1, OS X 10.9.2.

Are you asking about photos in shared Photo streams or about My Photo Stream?
Photos that have been shared successfully are not marked in a special way. The only way to mark them in your Aperture library would be to manually tag them. When browsing the Shared Stream, use the "Show in Library" button, to show the original in your Aperture library. Then add a keyword, or flag, or coulour label it, so you can set up a filter to exclude it.

  • I have a shared photo stream, are those shared photos taking up space on the i devices of the people I am sharing with?

I am getting conflicting answers about this question, which to me it seems like a simple no since these photos sit on another server. Now if the person I am sharing with decides to download some photos then yeah it's taking up space on their i device. But if they dont and are simply viewing my shared photo stream my though is that those photos do no eat up space on their i device.

How much space depends on the size of the photos and how many there are.
Settings > general > usage > photos & camera. The shared albums will be included along with other photos.
