Nokia 108 Language Issue

Hi,
My parents went on a holiday trip to France, all well untill he decided to see if fish could make a phonecall and dropped his phone into the water.
Lucky me, the simcard was fine, the phone was not ( guess why )
We went to the local phone shop, bought a Nokia 108 so he was helped.
Now the only problem is, we are from Belgium, we speak Dutch ( Flemish ) but this language is nowhere to be found on the phone.
I can choose from Spanish, English, French, Romanian,Porgugues, Italian and German..Clearly Nokia forgot to add the Dutch option in it, i mean if you can have all the above, why no dutch?
Is there a way i can add the dutch language to the phone? as at this stage, he is getting well p'd off with it in french
If so, please tell me how to add a language to it, i will be happy todo so and get this over with.

There is more than one language pack available for a handset depending on the region for which it is intended to be sold in. I believe that only a Nokia Care facility can swap or add languages for your handset, however given the price of the phone it would probably be easier and cheaper to buy another one from a Belgian shop. Check the language availability first though, as it could be an import intended for another region, which would not solve your problem.

Nokia 5030 Language Issue

I've recently purchased a new Nokia 5030 and it's not in english. I was hoping I could change it. I've read through the manual but couldn't find anything about changing the language. Could anyone point me in the right direction here?

Go to the menu and select Settings (which should have a spanner icon), the Phone Settings (icon depicting a phone and a spanner)then you should find the language choice in the menu. It will give the name of the currently selected language in small characters underneath whichever word it has to mean 'language' which light help you to find it (maybe "langue" in "Français", "Taal in "Nederlands", "Språk" in "Svenska" or "Kieli" in "Suomi"; for examples) - select it and choose English and it will then change to "Language" in "English"...

Nokia 5320 Language Issue

Hi there,
I bought one Nokia 5320 from HK. When I opened the phone I found that only English, Hindi and Philipino is installed on this phone. Could anybody give me a clue how to install simplified Chinese on this phone? Going to Nokia care is not an option as this phone is not yet sold in China.

In that case there's nothing you can do.
Only Nokia Care Points have the necessary software and equipment to install language packs in a phone.
You will have to wait for the phone to be launched in your country.

SBH52 detection problem with Nokia 108 (BT 3.0)

i'm facing problems in pairing my Nokia 108 candybar GSM with Bluetooth 3.0 with the SBH52.
No similar issues with Ipad, Xperia Z, etc...
Anyone a suggestion in order to solve this issue?

Nokia 108 - How to disable messages from appearing...

i have the Nokia 108 and the same happens. text message, sender and the first few words show up on screen even when phone is locked. 'display options-notifications' are turned OFF. also under each sim, 'display info' is turned off.
obviously for security purposes it is not good to have your messages able to be read by anyone holding the phone.
any solutions? also if i go to NoKIA support, there are no way to ask questions and there are no software updates for the Nokia 108.
any advice is greatly appreciated.
(ps, i also had to reply since i cannot figure out how to POST a new issue. sorry)

Go to Settings> Display Settings> Cell info display to OFF and restart the phone.

S820 came with no Play Store, also has language issue.

I bought an S820 in China and it has 2 problems that I cannot solve. First, even after switching the laguage to English, much of the interface, apps, settings, etc. are still in Chinese.
Additionaly, this phone did not come with the Google Play Store installed, and I am not able to install it from the Play Store website. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong due to the language issue, or perhaps there's some kind of license missing since this specific phone was intended for the Chinese market.
I've tried for several days to find a solution but I am coming up short. I'd like to try a new ROM, but after searching all the various forums I can't seem to find one designed for this phone.
Can anyone please refer me to a ROM that will work for this phone, or otherwise suggest a solution?

Though am not an expert, will try to explain and share what I know. I have been updating my s820 to Android 4.2.2 (which is latest for this phone) ROM automatically provided by lenovo officially that means it's not rooted and no Gapps by OTA (over the air) system upgrade. They call this new one VIBE ROM and I find it fantastic!
The other way would be to manually download latest ROM from http://www.viberom.com/xiazai_s820_nk.html (sorry it's in Chinese and you must select appropriate phone, you may translate the website) into your computer, RENAME into update.zip, copy to external microSD card --> boot into recovery (from lenovo's 'system upgrade' icon), there are few yes/no and finally done!
You can also check this out http://www.needrom.com/phone-roms/lenovo/serial-s/s820/ for custom and some rooted ROMs.

OS X Primary language issue

I have come across a very annoying language issue with my MBP.
I needed to set Chinese as the priority language in order to prevent iTunes from changing my chinese song names into weird characters thus ruining my album arrangement. But at the same time, it has created another problem that now every program's default language is Chinese.
Is there anyway to keep my song names intact while keeping the rest of OS X in English?

You should be able to have intact song names regardless of your OS language, as long as your ID3 tags are converted to Unicode. See this page for some info:

In general, the language of any app can be made different than the OS language by doing File > Get Info > Language on the app icon and making sure that only the language you want is checked.

Yeah some allow phones in offline mode. Others only if the MP3 player comes on without the phone, some nothing at all. Check with the space waitresses when you are onboard. They will have the most up to date info. Oh one last thing, if the crew tell you that the captain says no it must be off, do it, they will have a nice man in a pretty uniform carrying an asp/mace/great big gun (Depending on what country you fly into) waiting for you if you refuse.

Language issue

So I would like spotify to be all English. I have a computer with the language set to Dutch that I logged into a while back, and as far as I am aware it is logged out and hasn't been logged into since. Ever since then though I have random parts of spotify being in Dutch. All of my language preferences are set to English. All notifications I get on my phone from spotify are also in Dutch (language set to English). Is there a a way to resolve this? The image below is an example.

Try deleting cache and saved data on settings. Log in back and see if the language issue stills there. If not I'd suggest to reinstall the app on your phone.

Language issue for selection texts

Hi All,
There is a auto generated program, for which I am facing a language issue.
When I logon the system in EN language, I can see the the selection text in english language.
However when I logon to system in DE language, it just displays the variable name in the selection screen.
When I click on the selection text, the following info msg is displayed: "Not translated texts from the original language DE be interfered".
What does this message mean? Can I view the selection text in English language when i am logged in DE language.
Since this is an auto generated program, I am not authorised to do the changes.

Ask your basis team to give you authorization for these two authorization objects:
S_QUERY_ALL Change, maintain and translate query
S_QUERY_UPD Change and Translate
If you have these authorizations you can go and change the translation in ABAP Query which is generated by using SQ01 tcode.
If you have the authorization for above mentioned authorization objects the nuse tcode :
SQ07 and you can translate your query.

Language issues after update (Nokia E7-00/Belle)

Just updated to Belle, and I no longer have Hebrew Language installed on my phone.
I can read Hebrew text messages, and type Hebrew using Swype, but when using physical keyboard, my choise is between languges that do no include Hebrew.
Since the "Official Nokia Partner" (or however they call themselves) in Israel never intended to sell E7-00 model in Israel, I don't think I will get any support from them. Is there a way to restore my previous Anna version (Seems unlikely) or to flash/somehow add Hebrew language back to my device?
As far as I understand, the shop which sold me this phone, flashed the language pack onto it. Using their services is not an option for me right now.

Language issue on Nokia 3120

I am going to buy a Nokia 3120.
I live in Sweden.
I already have a Nokia 2760.
It works fine.
I can't change the language to French.
They will do it by removing Swedish and I have to pay about 400.00 crowns.
I don't want to remove Swedish.
I wonder whether Nokia 3120 has many languages like Sony Ericsson phones.
Sony Ericsson phones have German, French, Russian, Spanish, etc.
Please tell me whether it is possible to have French language on Nokia 3120.

Page cannot be displayed is one of the common problems, like fever. Please see application.log, apache error log to see any more specific reason for page cannot be displayed error. Look for any possible 'infection' which may have caused this 'fever', if you see what I am saying.

N96 Nokia Maps Loader Issue

Hi All,
I just updated my phone firmware.
I make it a habit to format the mass memory and the phone memory.
The problem now is after I have restored all my files and recreated the settings, I cannot make the Maps to load.
I encounter this error message "Error while loading catalog to drive E: at Nokia N96"
The only option is to click the check mark, after I click it nothing happens.
Have anybody experienced this or anybody knows a solution?
I have already checked the cities folder and it is recreated already. But still same issue.
Is this related to the new firmware?

I have managed to solve it.
When you format the phone memory the license manager which is used by Nokia Maps gets deleted.
In order to get it back you have to download the Nokia Map for your country and install it again to the phone.
After the installation. Delete the cities folder if there is one and then run the Nokia Map.
You can now use the Map loader and install the language you want.
That means that the maps loader is useless if you have deleted the license manager.

Nokia Lumia 900 Issues and Questions

I bought my Nokia Lumia 900 last March and it's running pretty well. It's fast and reliable, although I have some issues regarding it.
1. When I'm in a conversation and I receive multiple text messages, I need to press the back button as many times as the number of messages I have received so I can go back to the menu. Not a big problem at all, but it can be quite annoying once you've already received a lot of messages and you try to go back to the messages screen.
2. I don't have the compass. When I try to download apps, it says my phone is missing some features that the app requires, which happens to be the compass. The phone's specification (on the Nokia website) says that the phone has a magnetometer, GSMArena and Wikipedia both say that the Lumia 900 has a compass.
3. It doesn't have Xbox Live. It's also included in the specifications that the Lumia 900 has Xbox Live, but when I go to Games, I only get Collection.
Issue number 1 isn't that much of a problem, but issues 2 and 3 are very disappointing. I tried searching for ways to fix these and I found an article saying that a reset will fix the compass and Xbox Live issue. I did that, and when I opened it, I saw Xbox Live on my Start Screen but when I activated my Wi-Fi, it changed to Games and still no Xbox Live there. The compass problem isn't fixed either. To those who experienced the same issues, can you please tell me how you fixed it? Thanks in advance.
Also, about the 7.8 update, I've been waiting for it for some time now and it's now available on my unit. Is it safe to install? I'm worried that if it fails it might make my phone useless. How long does it usually take?

1. Once you received multiple text messages, can you not open one message and then press the Start button to go back to the live tiles and select Messaging again to go to the next message?
2. The phone supports compass (magnetometer). Have you tried to use the On-Device Diagnostic Tools to calibrate the Magnetomer? You can open the dialer and then input ##634#. Select Magnetometer and then calibrate the phone. Make sure that the location of the phone is On under Settings!
3. The phone supports Xbox Live which you can access on the phone by selecting Games on the start screen or by going to the App List. However, Xbox Live is not available to all countries/regions. You can visit the link for the countries/regions supported: www.xbox.com/LIVE/countries.
It's safe and recommended to update the phone whenever there is a software update offered. This improves the perfomance of the phone so why not connect your phone to your computer, open the Zune and install the update?

If you're asking how long the update takes, it is usually 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Nokia lumia 710 issue before and after send to rep...

need some advice from the forumer/nokia.
Just bought about a month but my lumia 710 already had an issue 3 days after bought it.
had send it to nokia care center at the 1st time due to battery drainage issue but the profesionalism of the staff was too bad.not satisfied with their attitude also.
had told them about another issue like zune can't detect my phone, sometimes can't heard what the people or someone want to said to me when i'm receiving the call. when call out a friend/somebody, they can't hear my voice. didn't receive any call in 1 day but after rebooting the phone got to many missed call log. had been told by my friend that they can't reach me when they call me and all the call that day has been forwarded to voice mail box.
didn't know why it happened. had been send back to authorised reseller about this issue and my phone has been handed to nokia care center by them.
after return from the nokia care center, had ask the reseller what is the root cause , the reseller said the nokia care center just downgraded my firmware/os back to 7.5 mango and said the problem solve. just use it back but my phone issue still arising. when receive/make a call the batteries drainage issue still exist. just talk about 5 minutes and the batteries was shown too be deplete but the main point is the batteries was shown 90% before make/receive a call. ?????????????.
should i returned it back to nokia care center or get back my .....
are they/the tech expert at nokia care center was too lazy or or lack of knowledge or not knowing of the level of troubleshooting method how to solve the problem and didn't know the root cause issue. its about a month send it to nokia care center but nothing/useless due to the issue/problem was still there.
check at the website support using the emei number, the repair/emei status didn't exist.
