Nokia 1112 SMS Settings?

I have just purchased a Nokia 1112 mobile phone.
The instructions state that SMS is available for this phone. I have contacted my provider (O2) but they tell me that there is no settings available for this phone.
I have searchrd on this site but can not find any either. Surely if the phone can accept SMS messaging there should be some settings available?
Please help.

The EMS on that model is totally different to MMS and doesn't require any settings other than those that SMS already has.
It uses multiple SMS messages to send very basic images (and possibly basic tones) that you should have preloaded somewhere onto the phone (usually found in templates).
This type of message was popular around 5-8 years ago before colour screens and MMS were available.
If I was you I wouldn't waste your time with it. Many newer phones may struggle to receive them correctly.

Hi I forgot to add when I access SMS settings and try to input the message centre name and number, I get the following error message, "Text message service disabled. No message centres available on current SIM." Any help appreciated. Regards

Contact your operator. They can send you the settings by SMS and it will configure your phone automatically.

Sim backup software for nokia 1112

i have just bought nokia 1112, i had nokia 3310 this b4, i m used to backup my sim on computer through data cable.
i use MobilEdit(software)to backup data and send sms through computer. but i m not able to connect my nokia 1112 with my PC to back my phone book specialy. kindly let me know if any software available for nokia 1112.

You could use Logomanager but hardly cost effective as would need software and cable.

Nokia lumia sms status report or delivery report

I bought a lumia 620 just two days back.Mainly what made buy a nokia lumia 620 rather than Htc 8s is that some OEM features..which only Nokia and Sony provides,like sms,mms delivery....out going call waiting notification (may be called gsm supplimentary services).I went for Nokia cause their good audio quality.But what make me regret that what my Nokia 1202 can do,that the new sophisticated lumia cant do.Like sms status report on nokia 1202 when swicthed "on" ,and it gets the delivery report its updated the message item in the sent box with a tick mark .That what i expected from my nokia,which should change the color of the bubble on the message thread,but sadly it deosnt do that.It just give "message delivered to 0000000" in a separate thread in my inbox,where that old tiny 1202 shows "message delivered to BOB". In lumia the thing is happening is that a network code were send like " *n*h hello" . where recepient get only the "hello" and sender get a a message "message delivered to 0000000".What happened to nokia programmer ??why are they implementing something so primitive,where they used to put those sophisticated code on those simple 1202's.

Go to Menu > Messaging > Options > scroll down to Settings > Text message > scroll down to Receive report - default value = No

Nokia 1112 how to use My Conversions

Hi, I have juast got myselfa new Nokia 1112 and the manual is very poor indeed.
I am trying to use the My Conversions, but so far no luck in using it to how I want to.
For example, My Conversions then I use the Title Antenna, then Input name: Frequency, then Output name: Length, then Factor (now for this to work I should enter "/ 468")
But I cannot use any of the keys apart from the number keys.
The Idea is that I can calculate the length of an Antenna divided by the frequency length of 468feet.
Example Frequency 27.500 Mhz should give me 17.018
468 divide by frequency (27.500) result is 17.018
How can I use My Calculations to do any thing?

You can only have OTA ringtones stored there. There is no other way to download ringtones, they have to be sent to your phone in a smartmessage or you can compose some on the phone itself.

Nokia C3 SMS sound notification

Occasionally, my c3 emits the beep as it had received an SMS, but when I check I haven't received a message.
What could it be?

On newer Nokia phones delivery reports are no longer seen as messages. So you do not get an alert for them. You will how ever see delivery reports in the delivery reports log and in the sent item the icon of the message that was delivered will change.
Luciky you cannot change it back to the old method.

Sms Settings faillure

Hi to everyone
I bought an xperia z3 compact 2 weeks before and when I tried to go to the sms settings the application closed with a message appears " the message application closed".I tried this several times without any change.I did a restoration to the factory settings and It worked for 3 days,yesterday I tried the sms settings again with the same results.Does anyone knows about this????

If you have also tried the Clear Cache my next step would be to try a PC Companion Repair.........if you do do this you MUST back up your phone, i will add the links below......wait for a bit to see if anyone else comes up with any ideas first

Its not necessary to enter them manually, instead contact your operator and ask them to send you MMS settings, once received configuration SMS, open it, go to Options>save>it'll ask if to set them as defaults>select "Yes" and thats it. now try to send MMS.

Nokia E65 - SMS tone problem

My Nokia E65 CAN receive messages (SMS), but there is NO indication about receiving. There is no tone, no vibration, no light when message is received. I have tried restore factory settings, update Firmware. But there was no result, it is still catatonic about signaling that SMS is arriving. Other tones work OK (Call, clock alarm, keypad....).
Any similar problems or any other solutions?

Well this is obviously a bug. I have 2179 sms messages in my inbox. And when memory is full phone dont indicate receiving another message. But there is another bug. It says memory is full at 1500 sms, but I can still receive smses..
so if any1 else have this problem solution is to cut smses to another folder... or delete..

Nokia Phone Configuration Settings

This subject is not covered under any other headings so here goes
I have ordered standard and advanced settings for various Nokia phones from the the Nokia website
Why is it that with some phones like the 6230i and the 6101 when the settings are installed, there is automatically a selectable access point to activate as the preferred access point and with other phones like the 6103 and 6233 I have to manually configure a personal access point before I can activate it. I am writing about GPRS / Data packet preferred access point for use by java applications.
I have tested this for various operators
This is a settings issue for preferred access point and I know it has nothing to do with web settings or service availability

madann, newer phones do not have this option anymore. If you create an SMS with your URL and save that to the archives, you are able to start from there. An alternative are PROV files which you sent via Bluetooth. Did that help?

Nokia N96 MMS Settings Help

Hi, My friend sent me a mms message but i cannot recieve it, says i need to define an access point first.
Could someone help me through the settings cos i cant find much, found the option to add access point for mms, but all that came up was a wireless connection, or an option for packet data.

'3' but where in the world ('3', Hutchison 3G, has/operates networks in many countries, and the settings would be different for each country).
In any case, you can probably have the appropriate MMS settings sent to you as an SMS from '3' if you call their customer service. You may be able to order the settings from their web site, too.
Or you can go through http://www.nokia.com/support as Nokia has at least in the past had a web page where you can order the settings to be sent for several phone models/operators.
And if you have a phone with the "Settings Wizard" application on the phone, you can try running it to get the settings that way, too.

Nokia 603 SMS thread view problem

Hi All, My nokia 603 is unable to display the message in thread view. whenever the SMS is sent or recieved it will show some random integers. but if i enter to the folder view I am able to view the entire message. We haven't confirmed if this is a known bug as it's not included in the list of Nokia 603 reported issues posted here: Firmware change logs for Symbian (S60) devices.
However, you may try these troubleshooting steps to fix the problem:
1. Check if the conversation view is still activated. Go to Menu, tap on Messaging, and then hit Options ( ≡ ). After that, choose View folders, hit Options ( ≡ ) again, and then select Message View. Set it to Conversations View.
2. If the first option didn't work, try the steps provided in this link: Nokia 603 - Need help in fixing a problem?

Hi!I don't know who you are but i have just read that u need help and here what you can do is simply calling 111 and they will tell you what to do in order for you to register for multimedia msgs. Take care. and always call 111 and they will help in any mobile's problems. Goodbye!
