Nokia 1661 - Customize Background/Wallpaper with T...

Hi,
I have a question about the Nokia 1661: in normal mode (ie without selecting menu or anything) there is the small banner at the top that indicates your provider on the left hand side and the time on the right hand side but there is nothing more on the screen.
You can see the picture chosen as a background/wallpaper without any text additions in the middle.
Is there anyway to customize, e.g. to insert text into that space?
(In older Nokia phones there was the name of the profile (vibration, etc.) you were using put right into the middle of the screen).
Thank you very much!

Hi Mujeebrm
Yes Nokia 6151 support gif files as its wallpaper so that they shows all possible effects(frames in GIF files) like in Sony Ericsson or any other Gif enable set. Beside you can use its Video as Sreeen Saver & Video call (like ringtone).
Thanks

This can be used to boot the machine and delelte enough files to get it to boot normally.
.Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
Read about storage drive so you can store your extra stuff.

    To Change the Backdrop
    1. Run xv (version 3.10 or later) on any desired image.
    2. Save the file as "XPM". Rename the file from <>.xpm to <>.pm.
    3. Edit the file /opt/SUNWut/kiosk/prototypes/dtsession/Dtwm and change
the two backdrop lines to the full pathname of the <>.pm file.
You can also place the <>.pm file in /usr/dt/share/backdrops and then
refer to it by <> in the Dtwm file.

  • Nokia 1661 ringtone volume problem

    Hi,
    I am Ravi from India.
i am using Nokia 1661 mobile.
And my problem is i am missing so many calls because of its low volume even though I put highest volume.
Please suggest me how to increase volume in this OR suggest me how to get new ringtones for this mobile.
I dont know what to do. Hope I get a solution here.
    Tanq.

You should be able to increase the valume in "settings" - I put mine on the highest and they are fairly easy to hear unless I have it inside it's leather cover inside a bag.
As for ringtones I'm trying to find that out  myself... I found heaps of them for this specific phone on a web site.. but nobody knows how to use them..  some say you need a cable .. which was not supplied.... some say you can't add ringtones at all.
But on the box it says " mp3 ringtones" and when going to ringtones on the phone it shows empty places... so I have to assume there is a way to add them...
Be nice if Nokia were to supply a real manual.... not the totally unhelpful basic piece of paper.....
I like the phone.. but the manual and support suck... I left a msg at Nokia with my questions and never did receive an answer.

  • Nokia 1661 - How to connect it to a computer?

I'm feeling quite stupid.  How does one connect the Nokia 1661 to a computer?  What type of data cable is required?  There is a port between the power jack and headphone jack, but it is smaller than a mini USB connector.  The user manual does not specify what that port is.
    Thanks for the help.

Absolutely. It is completely closed to the outside world.
If there was a WAP browser you could put the images online somewhere and point it to them, but even that option isn't there. Nor does the 1661 support user-created ringtones other than those created with the built-in ringtone editor.
This is a BUDGET phone, folks. If it got any cheaper SIM-free you'd be finding the things in packets of cereal.

  • ISE 1.3 portal customization - background image

With all the simplicity to adjust the look and feel of portals in the new ISE 1.3 comes (albeit small for some) a price: I no longer see a way to configure a custom adjustments like a background image, not simply a top banner. This was doable in 1.2 via Cisco ISE Portal Builder or custom editing of html files and custom image uploading. Migrated portal still works fine. But since is not editable it's almost unusable.  Is there still a way to do full customization of the portals?

Here are some steps on how to reference a background image using CSS and ISE 1.3
If needing help on doing other modification to the portal outside of the basics (like moving elements or resizing) after making the change then please work with web developer experienced in javascript and CSS.
    Export default CSS from ISE:
    Click Guest Access > Configure
Choose any Portal and click “Edit”.
Click Portal Page Customization > Advanced Customization
Choose “Default Blue theme” and click “Export”.
Open file with editor (for example:Coda,Notepad etc.).
    Edit file:
    Copy and paste
(Don’t forget to put your picture instead of http://www.your-picture.jpg):
Add this code AFTER the Defaults theme code
    body .cisco-ise-content {
        background-color: white ;

  • Nokia 1661 Message Centre Number

This morning I was playing around with my Nokia 1661 phone and I accidentally changed the Message Centre Number, which I now know was a stupid thing to do. So I'm asking if anyone knows the Fraser Valley BC number or how I can get the number back? All answers are appreciated.

  • Background wallpaper keeps reverting

    Background wallpaper keeps reverting.
I have an external 24in 1080p monitor attached to my late 2014 15in rMBP via a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. The background wallpaper I have chosen on my external monitor reverts to one of the standard Yosemite backgrounds (Yosemite 3 to be precise) after a few sleeps or restarts. This is getting to be very annoying as any other wallpaper even another default one just does not stick. I am very computer savvy but this is my first Mac and I'm surprised to be having this problem. Any help at all would be awesome, Thanks!

    1. If you log in automatically, a bug in some versions of OS X will cause the desktop picture to revert to the default image at every startup. The only known workaround is to disable automatic login in the Users & Groups preference pane.
    2. If the selected Desktop picture is stored in an iPhoto library on an external drive, export it from iPhoto and move it to a folder on the startup volume. (Credit for this solution to ASC member janay.)
    3. If the desktop picture always reverts to a plain blue background, one of your login items may be causing the problem. The "TeamViewer" application can have this effect; see this thread. If it's not that in your case, rule out all other third-party login items as possible causes.
    4. If you have a MacBook Pro with automatic graphics switching, disable it temporarily in the Energy Saver preference pane, set the Desktop picture, then restart the computer and re-enable graphics switching.
    5. If none of the above applies to you, proceed as follows.
    Back up all data.
In the Finder, hold down the option key and select
              Go ▹ Library
from the menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following item, if it exists:
              Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
and move the following items to the Desktop, if they exist:
              Application Support/Dock/desktoppicture.db
              Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Launch System Preferences and test. If you still have the issue, put the items you moved to the Desktop back where they came from and post again. Otherwise, delete the items.

  • Nokia 1661: speakerphone, audio recording, call h...

The Nokia 1661 support page specifications state that this phone has:
    "Integrated hands-free speakerphone"
    "Voice and audio recording"
    "Call waiting, call hold"
Searching the Nokia site and five different Nokia 1661 manuals have provided no assistance in using these features much less what the odd symbols next to 1, *, and # keys represent and what the 3rd port (between charge and earphone) is for.  Are these keys somehow related to "hold", "record", and "speaker" functions?
How do I use the advertised features listed above?
What are the alternate functions for the 1, #, and * keys?
Is there a PC data cable made for this phone (I verified this phone supported Nokia PC Suite before purchased, but now...)?
Thanks for any help, I am getting discouraged,
    Scott

Integrated hands free speaker phone> during a call move the phone from your far and look at it you'll see a loud speaker option(usually the left selection key) Voice and audio recording> should be under Menu>media this can be used to record conversation or anything else(on some phones it can record the radio playing on the phone or telephone conversations) Call waiting> this tells the network to alert you with a beep when you're on a call and there's another incoming call, if you look at the phone it will show you who's calling and will give you the option to answer and the other call is automatically put on hold. You can also put a call on hold by pressing options>hold then when you're done options>unhold to get back to your conversation

  • Nokia 1661 stand-by

    hello,
i have some questions about the Nokia 1661 (bought in december 2009; no software-update available; no info in user guide):
    1) stand-by-modus: is it possible to completely turn off the stand-by-modus, so that the display is always turned on? until now i can decide between two different short time periods before the display is turned off in case of inactivity. if possible: how? if not: can the time period be extended (e.g. 10 minutes)?
    2) font size of displayed time: when the Nokia 1661 is in stand-by-modus and i push any button, then the Nokia 1661 will be re-activated and i can see time displayed with a big font size (good readable) for about one second (too short). is it possible to always display time with this big font size? if possible: how?
    3) automatic shutdown: is it possible that, after a longer period of no activity (12 hours?), the Nokia 1661 automatically shuts down? if yes: how can this be deactivated?
    thanks in advance for answers!

    Hi,
    1. No it is not possible to keep the display on upto 10 minutes.
It is set so in any new phone to save battery. Otherwise battery will fully drain easily.
    2. No not possible to be always shown.
If you wish to see big clock for a while then turn off automatic keyguard off.
This option is found in settings>phone settings>automatic keyguard.
Even after this you can lock or unlock manually by pressing menu and * key. Same as you do while unlocking keypad.
    3. No phone should turn off automatically unless used more for call purpose.
Problem may be with your battery backup or old battery.
Check for the shape of your battey.
If it is bulged, then replace the battery.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thank You.

  • Nokia 1661 How should battery strength indicator ...

I tried contacting Nokia via 'Contact' about this via their web site, but the form is faulty, so it is impossible to supply a correct message and hence send a message at all.
I am uncertain regarding how the battery strength indicator should look when charged. This is because, unlike my old phone, a motorola, instead of solid black bars, the bars are of a varying intensity from dark blue to white (from right to left).  There are 5 bars. When I charged it the first time the leftmost bar stayed white. This is only my second time of charging. What should it look like when charged?  What is the likely charging time from when fully discharged? I have asked Carphone warehouse regarding my first charge and they said it was charged when the leftmost one was white and the others a varying shade of blue from light to dark (left to right). I've now charged it the second time for 8 hours and got the one white and varying shades of blue again. I note it says on the web site that a new NiMH battery full performance is only achieved after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles. Does mean eventually I should get all bars solid blue?
It also says on the web site that ‘When you charge the battery for the first time the battery strength indicator does not scroll the entire time, this is normal. What do they mean ‘scroll the entire time?’ Do they really mean scroll completely to the left so all bars become dark blue?

I received a reply which unfortunately did not help at all. Here is a copy of the email exchange. I have asked for a proper response.
    To Nokia
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately it does not answer the question posed by me and the other customer. I already have a copy of the instruction book.
Please kindly read the question which is about the battery indicator, have a look at the phone, and let me know how the battery indicator works. If you do not know, please find someone at Nokia who does know. Many thanks.

  • Nokia 1661 clock 'screensaver'

Just got a Nokia 1661.  When the phone is not in use, the time and date appear on the screen (sort of like a screensaver, but i currently have screensaver turned off, so I'm not really sure what this is or why it's doing it).  Anyway, it is a great feature and could be very useful, but the problem is it is so faint that I can't read it.  Can anyone tell me how to brighten it up so I can read the time without having to turn my keyguard off?
    thanks,
    Duke

This was exactly the info I was looking for.  Unfortunately, I wasn't what I wanted to hear.
The fact that screen goes nearly black with only a faint glimpse of the clock and whether or not there was a call must be an oversight on Nokia's part.  Because if not it is absolutely absurd that this is how it was intended.
There is no need to have such a faint info screen which requires a whole lot of clicking just to see if there was a missed call.
I've had a number of Nokias over the years and they've always done me well.  Even the cheap and flimsy little 1208 I'm using.  It feels like it'll fall apart in my hand, but at least the screen is visible.
Well done, Nokia.  I'll keep checking to see if there is a solution to this issue, but I won't hold my breath.

  • Why does my iPods background move with the movement of the device?

I noticed something wierd with my iPods background. When I tilt the device up and down vertically the background moves with the device and the apps stay still. Is this supposed to happen? And if so what feature of the device causes this.

Sounds like you have dynamic wallpaper turned on/using one.
    Go to Settings>Wallpaper and check/change.
    Do you have iOS 8
    You say 7.1.2.

  • How do I set the desktop wallpaper with an image in aperture 3?

Sorry for the silly question, but I can't find how to set my desktop wallpaper with an image in aperture 3. It was simple when using Iphoto, but I can't find the method in aperture.
    Thanks,
    Dale.

Command(⌘)-9 is no longer listed in the list of default keyword shortcuts, and it has no effect.
I wrote a little Automator service to bring the Command(⌘)-9 back.
A copy of this service is here for download:
    http://dreschler-fischer.de/scripts/SetDesktopPicture.workflow.zip
    This service uses three actions:
    Aperture: Get selected images
    Export Masters
    Finder: Set the Desktop Picture
To install it, open the workflow in Automator and save it as service.
To use it, select any image in Aperture, then activate the service from the Aperture menu -> Services, and it will set the master of the selected image as Desktop picture.
If you like, you can assign the Command(⌘)-9 key to the service (in the System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts Panel) and then  turn any image you selected into Desktop wallpaper by simply pressing (⌘)-9.
@Frank Caggiano, if you are still following this thread: for some reason this workflow succeeds with exporting the master, but I could not get it to work with the versions instead. Any ideas?
Caution: this service will clutter the Desktop with the exported images. If you want to avoid that, change the export action to export the image to a different folder.

  • Is there a way to remove the blurred background wallpaper effect when using the phone in iPhone 4S' iOS 7?

    Hello.
A few nights ago, my picky client finally upgraded his iPhone 4S' iOS 6 to iOS 7. He doesn't like the blurred background wallpaper image when using the phone feature (e.g., calling and talking). Is there a way to disable this new visual effect like in iOS 6?  I am pretty sure this is by design by Apple.
    Thank you in advance.

Might Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion = "On" do what the customer wants?
I will tell him about that, but I don't think that would be it if that is related to animation.
We're talking about the wallpaper background that get blurry during the phone screens like http://www.tekrevue.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/20130923_ios7emergencycallfla w.jpg (left side) and http://i.i.cbsi.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim2/2013/09/20/ChangingYourTheme.png ... You can see there are background images that got blurred out.
