Nokia 1661 Message Centre Number

This morning I was playing around with my Nokia 1661 phone and I accidentally changed the Message Centre Number, which I now know was a stupid thing to do. So I'm asking if anyone knows the Fraser Valley BC number or how I can get the number back? All answers are appreciated.

You need to contact your network provider.

  • Can't change the Message Centre Number in my Nokia...

I have a 3 day old Nokia X. I can't send text messages due to wrong the message centre number set in my Nokia X device. When I try to change it in settings, a pop-up appears which say "It is bad to change SMSC Number. Do you want to change ?". I choose "Ok". Then nothing changes Message Centre Number is set on "+7" and does not changes. I have tried many things including removing battery and SIM Card without switching off the device and reseting the device to Factory Defaults. But the problem persists. It doesn't changes. I live in New Delhi, India.
    Any help will be appriciated.

No I am not able to resolve the issue.
I reset my phone without the SIM Card also but same thing repeats. I can't change the Message Centre Number. It reverts to +7 when I try and change it in settings with the pop up "Changing the SMSC may cause problems sending messages, to confirm the change ?". Then I tap "OK" and nothing changes the Message Centre Number is still +7.

  • Message Centre Number? (6280, o2)

Turned on my phone, the 6280, this morning to find that the message centre number has been forgotten / deleted so it won't let me send any messages.
    Does anyone have this number?
Do I have to ring Nokia? Ugh...
    All help greatly appreciated!

Easiest way to solve this is to ring o2 - if they are anything like Orange they will then send you a SIM update which will then put the SMS/MMS settings back for you as they should of been set up as default.
Alternatively they may just give you the number to put in, but either way I would suggest for you to contact o2, as Nokia will probably not have that information (although another Nokia 6280 user on o2 in the UK may have this number on here to give to you).
    Regards,

  • Message Centre Number on N96.....

I have recently bought a new N96 on a vodafone contract, and as i was previously on 02 i had to wait a few days for them to transfer my number over.... My number then got transfered over yesterday and i then went to send a text message and it asked for my message centre number which i didnt know at the time so i just put in my mobile number as i didnt have a clue what the message centre number was... I have just got my message centre number from someone over the phone but i keep trying to change it and it just comes up with the message "unable to change settings. Value read from SIM card" can anyone give me any assistance on how to get this properly working...
Cus i've now got a new phone and cant send any texts on it.
    Cheers

Vodafone UK : SMS Service Centre number: +447785016005.
This number is used to configure your phone for sending text messages.
    For other countries:
    http://www.smsfre.com/SMS-Mesaging-Centers.htm
Before that reset ur phone to default factory settings........
*#7780# with default code 12345 but do make a back up
second option: try to create a new message centre number.
    messaging->options->text message->message centres->options->new message centre
enter the correct information, then go back to textmessage->message centre in use. and choose the new message centre.
last option left which is to head to the vodafone shop, they will help you configure the phone or change the sim card for you.

  • What is my message centre number!!!????!!!

Nowhere does it mention what my message centre number is. Is it my own phone number or something else? I just want to send simple sms text messages and it seems impossible with this e70.

Call your network provider customer services and they should be able to tell you the service centre number
You can also have a look on your providers website. I'm on O2 and I know they have a sevice where they will send your the settings over the air from the website
Also, if you have a settings wizard in your phone and you work through that (about 1 min), that will set up your sms, mms settings.
I have an N80, so I am not familliar with E70 but it should similar...

  • N96 message centre number

I have a N96 and it has an incorrect message centre number in. I have requested the settings from O2 but this does not cahnge it. When I try and change it myself it says unable to change settings. value read from sim card. I have only had the phone fot 2 weeks and it has not sent a text yet.

Call O2 support again, ask them to send your message settings via text to your phone.
Sounds like the text message settings (how they are sent) is wrong on your phone.

  • Nokia 100 - Message Sending Failed

Newbie mobile user, with Nokia 100 on Orange PAYG in the UK.
Trying to send my first text message, the display shows "Message Sending Failed". Not sure if it's just me still finding my way round and not getting something quite right, or if there's something wrong and I need to change some setting or other?
I've looked around and it seems maybe it might be something to do with a message centre number? I saw an Orange support page here for Nokia
    http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/401305
with some instructions, but I'm not seeing what they give in bold so maybe the Nokia 100 has different menu/options/settings, and it isn't included in the list to the right of the help topic. I've also scanned Nokia help topics but again haven't seen anything specific to the Nokia 100 for this error message. There also doesn't seem to be a comprehensive manual for the 100, only a fairly basic user guide -- for other models there's a lot more detail about errors and troubleshooting.
Any help appreciated... and please keep it simple

    Many thanks puigchild, but this...
Messaging > Message settings (or msg. settings) > Text messages > Message centres
is what I don't seem to see.
From the main Menu I have these choices:
Messages, Contacts, Call register, Settings, Clock, Radio, Reminders, Games, Extras, Orange Plus.
I've been two ways from there...
    (1) Messages, where the options are:
Create Message, Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts,  Chat, Picture messages, Distribution lists , Screened messages, Delete messages, Message counter, Message settings, Service com. editor.
The only possibility from these (and in line with what you suggested) seems to be Message settings, and the options there are:
Templates, Smileys, Signature, Sending profile, Font size, Delivery Reports, Reply via same centre, Character support, No. screening.
It doesn't seem clear where to go next from these choices... from what I've seen from looking around, and again from what you've said, there should be an option for Text Messages, but there doesn't seem to be
The only reference to a "centre" anywhere is in the option for "Reply via same centre", but I don't know what that means!
    (2) Settings (from the main menu), and the options there are:
Tone settings, Display settings, Profiles, Time settings, Call settings, Phone settings, Cost settings, Security settings, Go to settings, Restore factory settings.
Again I haven't been sure where to go but have explored a few and haven't found anything yet about Message Centre or specifically about text messages.

  • Can't send SMS. It asks for messaging centre (Mitt...

Hi. Last week I bought a 5800 and tryed to send a SMS but I can't. I wrote a message typed in a recipient in the To field and selected Options > Send.
But instead of sending my SMS it says "Please enter messaging centre" (Hope I translated it correctly. In german it is Mitteilungszentrale). I have never heard of a "messaging centre" and don't know which numbre I have to type in. And I don't know if this is a Nokia thing or from T-Mobile.
Does anybody know what to do?

I'm glad my advice helped you Suntrop.
If you imagine a SMS like a letter you put through the post.
The letter doesn't just leave your hand and go directly to the person you want it to go to, it goes via a post office and then on to the right address.
The Message Centre Number is like the post office, it gets directed there first and then onto the person
My posts are my opinion and in no way the direct views of Nokia.

  • Nokia 1600 - Message transfer

I recently changed from my Nokia 1600 to a smart phone so the message which were stored in SIM memory (20 by default) were carried forward to the new phone rest are still in phone memory.  I tried to transfer message by first flushing the SIM memory (copied message in the SIM to the new phone) so that the message in the phone memory can accommodate in SIM memory but was not a success.  I am still able to see the message in the phone by putting the same SIM in Nokia 1600.
The message were randomly stored in SIM memory i.e. not in any particular order like date it was received or size of message, not sure how the message storage criteria works.
Please let me know how can I transfer my message to my new phone.  If I can also get the sent message transferred it will be best case scenario.
    Thanks

if you got the right message centre number then it should not be a problem.
message sending fails usually when at the point of sending message the signal drops down(check your signal strength)..or sometimes the operator is doing something with its network..if it persist contact operator

  • CANT SEND SMS ON NEW 6220 - MESSAGE CENTRE ISSUE

    Hi all
Just got a brand new 6220 on 3 network. my problem is that i cant sent sms but can recieve. when i tried to send an sms at first it asked for a centre no i just put in 1 for some reason and as expected it didnt send.
how do i manually input my sms centre number which i got off my old 3 phone
i have tried messeging - settings - text message - message centre in use - message centre
problem is i cant change centre number
    begging for help

And, usually, the message centre number is on the SIM card, and the phone reads it automatically.
Sometimes the SIM can go bad, or the phone has some other trouble reading the number from the SIM card.
Then you can define/add the number manually, but you do need to ask your network operator (service provider, carrier) whose SIM card you have to give the number. It might also be posted on their web site.

  • IPhone 5 message centre

    Hello,
My Iphone wasn't sending txt messages so I called o2 and they helped me changes the message centre number, which works until I turn the phone off and they it goes back to another message centre number, can anyone help me? Thanks!

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7722
If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following may help with Handoff/Continuity issues: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5458
