Nokia 1661: speakerphone, audio recording, call h...

The Nokia 1661 support page specifications state that this phone has:
"Integrated hands-free speakerphone"
"Voice and audio recording"
"Call waiting, call hold"
Searching the Nokia site and five different Nokia 1661 manuals have provided no assistance in using these features much less what the odd symbols next to 1, *, and # keys represent and what the 3rd port (between charge and earphone) is for.  Are these keys somehow related to "hold", "record", and "speaker" functions?
How do I use the advertised features listed above?
What are the alternate functions for the 1, #, and * keys?
Is there a PC data cable made for this phone (I verified this phone supported Nokia PC Suite before purchased, but now...)?
Thanks for any help, I am getting discouraged,
Scott

Integrated hands free speaker phone> during a call move the phone from your far and look at it you'll see a loud speaker option(usually the left selection key) Voice and audio recording> should be under Menu>media this can be used to record conversation or anything else(on some phones it can record the radio playing on the phone or telephone conversations) Call waiting> this tells the network to alert you with a beep when you're on a call and there's another incoming call, if you look at the phone it will show you who's calling and will give you the option to answer and the other call is automatically put on hold. You can also put a call on hold by pressing options>hold then when you're done options>unhold to get back to your conversation

  • Audio & Video Call Recording Solution for CUCM

    Hi,
I am looking for a audio and video call recording solution for CUCM. The requirement is the recording system shall record all audio & video calls including incoming, outgoing, and station-to-station calls. One cirtical requirement is: The users on the CUCM system shall be able to record video calls for video equipped stations with a push of a button on their Cisco IP Desk set or their Cisco soft phone.
Does anyone know the product or third party vendor who supports audio and video recording for CUCM?
    -Thanks
    Vaijanath

Currently Cisco doesn't support video recording with a push of a button on their Cisco IP Desk set or their Cisco soft phone. Also, I have checked with the third party vendors and they only support the video recording using Passive Call recording (port mirroring).

  • Can I hold an audio conference call and record it ...

Can I hold an audio conference call and record it on Pretty May Call Recorder? Thanks!

My solution was to store the thread reference.  At any step, I can retrieve the current context.  This is only valid within a thread, but meets my needs.  I could also pass something at a higher level, but that would require knowing which thread I am interested in anyways.

  • Help in uccx (leave audio recording file for caller)

    Hi,
on the attached snapshot for scripting "leave recording audio for caller" when the agent out of office, it's work successfully but when second call comes over in this case the same file is recorded, so how can i make it to record as
    recording1.wav
    recording2.wav
    recording3.wav
    Thanks

    Hi
You can use a 'set exception' step to set a ContactInactiveException trigger to go to a Label.
Do this before the 'recording' step - if the caller then hangs up, it will go to the Label that should be placed so that the steps to upload the recording are completed.
Currently the script will just stop if the caller hangs up.

  • How can I copy an audio recording in Skype?

I have an audio recording of one of my contacts on Skype.
Can you tell me if there is a way to copy this recording to my hard drive and if so how?
Can I do it with MP3 Skype Recorder 4.11 and if so how?  Where would it be recorded to if I can do it this way?
Any help with this will be really appreciated
    HB

I already have a Skype recorder for any incoming or outgoing Skype or telephone calls.  I use MP3 Skype Recorder for that.   What I'm trying to achieve is different.
I have an existing voicemail message in Skype itself from one of my Skype contacts.  It is this voicemail message that I want to save to my hard drive somewhere so there is no chance of me losing it in Skype itself.
I right clicked on the recording and there is an option in the context menu to 'Copy Message.' I clicked on this but I don't know where to save it to on my hard drive so I can play it whenever I want from there as a file.
I would also like to know if there is any way to change this voicemail message to another file format to play on my hard drive.
Can anybody help me with this scenario please?
    Thanks

  • Stereo audio recorder AAC 128+ Kbps for N8?

Is there a high quality stereo audio recorder available for N8?
The in-built app can only record at highest of 64kbps.
I'm looking for one with at least stereo 128kbps capability.
    Thanks a lot!

Im also very surpriced that high quality stereo recording isnt availible in the default recorder, as a musician i would have very good use of it recording rehearsals. The sound is pretty good in video recording.
As it is now it is actually fairly good for being mono (but ooh so 60`s ) and not so 2011 ) and stereo recording adds alot to the separation as well as the enjoyment of a recording.
I havent yet been able to find an app for this.
Please Nokia or someone else that have the skill, help us out with this !

  • Stereo Audio recording in Captivate 6?

Hi, I am having problems with capturing stereo audio in sync with the video, in Captivate 6.  I am making training videos for music software and have looped back the audio from the programme into Captivate, in order to record it's output.  It monitors fine, but it looks as though Captivate is only recording the audio in mono - and there are no settings to change this.  Is this the case?  I really need stereo sound on the input, otherwise functions in the programme cannot be demonstrated correctly.  I have looked through the forums and it would seem that stereo recording was definitely included in earlier versions (as it caused some users the opposite problem of sound from a microphone only appearing on one side).  I am using Captivate version 6 on Windows 7.  Please can you help me?  Cheers, Mike

    Hi Michael,
There is no option to select the audio recording as stereo or mono at time of recording.
Can you tell me that have you installed captivate as a part of suite or it is a stand alone Product?
If you have installed Captivate as a part of E-learning suite there is a software called as Adobe Auditon which also gets installed as a part of suite , which can serve your Purpose , It can record as stereo as well as mono. and you can directly insert the audio generated from this software in Captivate.
And In Captivate also there is an option in Edit > Prefrences>Publish settings.
You can uncheck the Publish as Mono option while Publishing and check if it works for you.
    Please check the screenshot

  • Nokia 1661 ringtone volume problem

    Hi,
    I am Ravi from India.
i am using Nokia 1661 mobile.
And my problem is i am missing so many calls because of its low volume even though I put highest volume.
Please suggest me how to increase volume in this OR suggest me how to get new ringtones for this mobile.
I dont know what to do. Hope I get a solution here.
    Tanq.

You should be able to increase the valume in "settings" - I put mine on the highest and they are fairly easy to hear unless I have it inside it's leather cover inside a bag.
As for ringtones I'm trying to find that out  myself... I found heaps of them for this specific phone on a web site.. but nobody knows how to use them..  some say you need a cable .. which was not supplied.... some say you can't add ringtones at all.
But on the box it says " mp3 ringtones" and when going to ringtones on the phone it shows empty places... so I have to assume there is a way to add them...
Be nice if Nokia were to supply a real manual.... not the totally unhelpful basic piece of paper.....
I like the phone.. but the manual and support suck... I left a msg at Nokia with my questions and never did receive an answer.

  • Is Logic Pro the Best Audio Recording Software for Mac?

Couple questions. I do a lot of audio production and work currently. I use a gateway with Cubase, and its not bad, but I feel like I need something mroe high end.
I'm looking at the 17 inch Imac. Does anyone record using this computer? How's it sound? Is there any way to put in a new soundcard or something if i don't like the current one?
Secondly, is logic pro the most advanced and best audio recording software for the mac? Are there others as well?
I know about Pro Tools, but it seems like there isn't anything high end enough that is TOO high end.
Does the Pro version have superior mixing capabilties. I am primarily going to be micing a guitar amp and having a mixer run into a firewire port, and also using a preamp for my guitar direct into the computers USB.
Lastly, how are the mixing features on Logic Pro vs. Logic Express? I do a lot of post production mixing as well, and use VST plugins. Speaking of that, will it accomodate using a drum program like BFD through VST or Midi like Cubase will?
    Thanks for your time guys.

Yes, you do indeed need sth more high end.

It's not an iMac, but a faithful PowerBook G4 that I am using. Apples Core Audio is awesome. Your sound, however, will depend on your interface.
Secondly, is logic pro the most advanced and best

That's why we are here, and that's why you ended up in this forum as well
To me personally, Logic sounds warmer and bigger than any ProTools system I've ever heard. From what yopu described as the work you need to do, there is no comparable application. Logic also offers you many more features above and beyond what you currently need to do.
I know about Pro Tools, but it seems like there isn't
anything high end enough that is TOO high end.
Everybody is using PT, and you should maybe get a Light Edition version of it. However, as stated above, Logic offers by far more possibilities.

For your purpose, Logic does have superior mixing capabilities. In my humble opinion, only the popularity of PT made it become the choice of studios and engineers, but things are turning...

If you do post production mixing, forget about Logic Express altogether and go for Logic Pro. LP will accomodate tons of plug-ins, and it comes with a bunch of great one's as well!
The format for the plug-ins is called A(udio) U(nit) and works flawlessly. Many VST plug-ins are also available in AU format and the development of those is moving fast forward.
In other words, yes, you will be able to use BFD in Logic by means of the AU format.
    Thanks for your time guys.
    You're welcome.

  • Feature request: record calls and messages on iPhone

I'm trying to generate interest for some features I think should be introduced. What do you think of this one...
The iPhone should be able to record calls and messages to save as an audio file on your computer. Aside from providing the ability to keep a personal archive of important or meaningful calls and messages, this introduces another revolutionary new feature:
Imagine if every call you made on your phone was recorded automatically, so you could review what someone said even after hanging up the phone. Each call could be saved in a temporary location, and recordings could be saved permanently by clicking "Save" on the corresponding entry in the call log. This way, you wouldn't ever have to worry about forgetting what someone said, and you can forever save the memorable phone calls that impact your life. This feature would also be extremely useful for recording phone interviews for later review and transcription.
This feature would likely be relatively easy to adopt, and would certainly be a revolutionary addition to a revolutionary device.

Thanks, I already did give Apple feedback though. I was just posting it here to try to generate some more support for the idea. I'm new to the forum, so I'm not sure if this is an appropriate type of thing to post, so please let me know if it's generally not appreciated to put feature suggestions up for discussion.

  • My 4s Goes to speakerphone automatically while calling and does not go back to normal even after disabling speaker  while calling

My 4s Goes to speakerphone automatically while calling and does not go back to normal even after disabling speaker phone button
AlsO sometimes I. Cannot hear anything in normal speaker even though the call Is going through and has been re ieved on the other end, I have to enable speaker and then disable it to route audio to normal speakers

I think that it is something wrong with kernel and graphic drivers but i'm not able to solve it from the beginning of using of Arch by me.
I'm not so sure this issue is software-related only because in my case it seems the laptop screen enters power-saving mode (10-min timeout) on its own without any events logged (as shown by dmesg) so my next thought was OK, I'm going to get rid of this issue disabling the screen power-saving timeout in the BIOS and set it to never power down or something like that and from then on managing power mode manually; ie: when I want to power down I will just use systemctl suspend/hibernate which work fine ... problem is: there are no related options in my BIOS for such timeout.
The only timeouts I have are in /etc/systemd/logind.conf set to 30min (#IdleActionSec) (commented) by default so these are not in effect because the screens goes blank after 10m which is less than the (default) 30m in logind. Maybe setting loggind to 9m (un-commented) to catch the event before the machine-default one ?
    IdleActionSec=9min
    IdleAction=suspend
Will check it and report back.

  • No Stereo audio recording in HD video recording.

    Hi,
    I have Nokia 701.
It's too bad that there is no true stereo audio recording while HD video recording.
Though in specification it is given that there are two microphones for stereo recording.

I was right there with you. I posted early on in this thread and was working with tech support on the phone. We worked for a few days and it was like I was having to do too much work on my end. Nothing was working and they were so busy. Someone else posted that they took theirs back and it was an easy swap. I had already made an appointment at the apple store as a backup so I decided to drive the 50 miles. It was so easy....the guy really did not care too much about me working with support. He just tried a restore and was able to repeat the issue. Not saying that all stores are like that but I have had very good results with other apple products and getting support at the genius bar. Good luck...but you may be waiting a while. Seems that the hot topic for them is really the "reception" issue.

  • Exception in Audio Recording in AMR encoding in J2ME?

    Hi all,
I want to Record Audio in AMR encoding....
the code sniplet is as follows..
    For createPlayer("capture://audio?encoding=audio/raw");
java.lang.IllegalParameterException is coming in Nokia device and
    For createPlayer("capture://audio?encoding=audio/amr"); and i tried
    createPlayer("capture://audio?encoding=amr")
java.lang.NullPointerException is coming in Nokia device.
so anything to change in createPlayer() while Playback the recorded audio?
For "audio/wav and audio/au "(for which it is working fine in Nokia device),
    i wrote, Player p2 = Manager.createPlayer(recordedInputStream,"audio/x-wav");
so please tell me the solution?
    Thanks and Regards..

    Hi all,
    Good Morning!
Actually i was recording in AMR encoding on Nokia 3230, but it doesnt support AMR encoding..so i had done it on Nokia 6680.
I recorded audio and played it back in AMR encoding, and in audio/raw encoding, i recorded audio but cant played it back on Nokia6680 device.
first i m displaying the audio encoding formats that the specific device supports, and then which audio encoding, the user selects,
i m recording and played it back in that audio encoding .
for eg: for audio/amr, i m recording and played it back in audio/amr encoding.
for audio/wav, i m recording and played it back in audio/wav encoding. like that for others..
like that for audio/raw encoding, i m recording the voice but while playback it, audio/raw encoding will be selected. but it is not working in that.
so which encoding to take to playback audio in audio/raw encoding?
createPlayer() while playing the recorded audio...
    player = Manager.createPlayer(recordedInputStream,encoding);
    for Nokia 3230, it shows that.. supports.audio.encoding=audio/wav, audio/au, audio/amr, audio/raw.
and if Nokia 3230 doesnt support amr encoding then why it shows that supports.audio.encoding=audio/amr for Nokia3230 device?
hoping to hear from u soon....
    Thanks and Regards...
