Nokia 2310 suddenly displaying numbers only instea...

I was a happy user of a Nokia 2310 for 12 months. It was set to show the caller's name on the screen rather the number, for callers yet registered in the directory.
But suddenly it doesn't do that anymore: only the numbers, I have to look each time to whom the number applies to know who is trying to call me !
Has anybody an idea of what to do in such a case? The only thing I did just before the problem occured is copying all the telephone directory on the Sim card.
When I saw there was a problem, the first thing I did then is erasing the directory from the Sim card then. But nothing changes. I made a factory reset as well without success.
If anybody knows the solution to that, I would be very grateful.

When a callers number is shown instead of the name you had for the caller it usually means that you have the same number on two or more contacts. This can be either in phone memory or sim memory. Go through your phone book and check if this is true.
Another option you might like to try is to set the selected memory for the phonebook (contacts) to either SIM only or Phone only and not SIM and Phone. The fastes option is Phone memory.
My suggestions is to back your contacts up by copying them to the SIM card but you keep the selected memory for the phone book set to Phone only.
On my phone I select this by going :
Menu -> Contacts -> Settings -> Memory in use -> Phone

SOLUTION: I MUST POWER DOWN/UP EACH TIME I USE ADOBE READER. THIS IS IDIOCY.
1. Keyboard appears RESET to display numbers ONLY, and numbers displayed to DO NOT CORRESPOND to numbers I TYPE.
AFTER ADOBE READER IS CLOSED I type "A" into say, an email address field and a random number, say, "9" appears in the field not an "A".
WHILE IN ADOBE READER I type "23" into the .pdf "go to page" field, and get other numbers completely.
Happens ONLY when I open a .pdf file with Adobe Reader 11.0.2 (XI).
Both behaviors occur whether I open a download .pdf file or attempt to open a .pdf via search engine Google + my Browsers.
2. Operating System = Windows 7.
3. My Browser = Internet Explorer 9 or Mozilla Foxfire; behavior is identical on either. Search engine used is Google.

Nokia 2310-not displaying caller name

I've just bought a Nokia 2310 as they're very cheap as a standby phone but have a problem. I've copied the numbers from my simcard to the phone but if someone calls the phone, when it rings it only displays the number and not the name. This is obviously pointless as I would never know who's calling and makes missed calls a nightmare.
What have I done wrong?

The number in your phonebook has to match the one which is calling EXACTLY. So not 0489/235647 for instance, but you need to enter this number as +33489/235647 in your phonebook (the sign is important too). +33 is the country number of course.
If you're still not sure, save the number from messages you have recieved and enter that in your phonebook. Doing this will ensure that the messenger's or caller's name is displayed.
This is something I feel the manual should have adressed. You have no idea how much this **bleep** me off, until I found it a day later.

Nokia 6303 Classic Displays CALL only instead of c...

I've an orange sim card and this seems to be only happening with this network.
I do not know who is calling me. The display shows "call" even though the number of the person that is calling me is on my contact list. This happens with all numbers.
Strangely, it knows if I am calling out, and if someone texts me.
Does anyone know anyway around it?? I've gone to settings/Display and checked the Notification details, This was already set to "show" which is fine but this still doesn't even work.
I've even updated this to V10.10 of the Nokia 6303 Classic firmware. CALL still is appearing even after the update.

Nonetheless, this is a common problem with Orange. I suggest calling them. They should be able to update your SIM over-the-air and it'll sort the problem out.

V.I.P only calls on Nokia 2310

Hello everyone,
I have just got a Nokia 2310 to replace my 6100. I am very happy with the 2310, however there is one feature I miss from my 6100, that I could mark certain people/numbers as V.I.P's and set the phone to only ring if it's a litsed V.I.P calling. When at work, this feature proved fantastic, no more friends interupting meetings, I liked knowing that if my phone rang, it was important.
Does anyone know if something similar is possible on the 2310? I noticed that when I add new contacts, I get a choice of little cartoon people images that I can put the entry with but I dont know what these little icon images are for...
Can someone pretty please help me? Its driving me mad as I somehow think that those little icon people have something to do with it and I just cant figure out how...
I hope someone can help me, even if it's just to tell me it's not possible, at least if I know it's not possible I can stop messing around trying to figure it out!

I am not sure about the 2310 not having owned one but if it has a Groups facility then you should be able to create a Group called VIP with a special ringtone and you should then bne able to give this group a unique ringtone.

Label update and numbers displaying, not only string

Hi all
i'v three classes, one which creates random information "generator" and another class which displays the information.
so my question is now, how can i update the information in the display class instantly? and why can i only show strings "text" an no numbers? for example i need to display numbers too for temperature purpose.

I have a Nokia 2310 on Vodafone and when I receive text messages from people that are in my contacts the name does not show in the inbox

Sorry you are having problems with your Nokia 2310. It sounds like you may have the numbers saved twice, perhaps on the both the SIM and phone. This means that when you are receiving your messages the phone is confused as to which contact they are from and instead displays the contact number.

Will my Nokia 2310 phone (on a Telstra plan) work in Japan??

If I am not mistaken, your phone is dual band GSM only and as Japan has gone completely 3G, your phone will not work in Japan. Same applies to South Korea.

It sounds like a GPU problem, but I am not sure. Try booting in AHT (Apple Hardware Test) to be sure. Also, if you have another Apple computer, try to boot the other computer with the hard drive from the iMac using target disk mode. While booted on your imac's hard drive, check console for kernel panic logs. Paste only Kernel panic logs not application crash logs here please.

Now whenever I press the mail icon it goes to the mail app for about 4 seconds, does nothing, no loading of folders, old messages, nothing.

MBPro w/Mini DisplayPort to Cinema Display w/only USB and Firewire ports?

I've searched the threads for something that will explain what kind of cable I need to use my Cinema Display with my MacBook Pro, and I'm not finding anything. The MacBook Pro has the Mini DisplayPort for video out, and the Cinema Display's only ports are two USB and two FireWire.
All of the video cables I've seen in the online Apple store are either Mini DisplayPort to DVI or Mini DisplayPort to VGA, neither of which would work. Tech support told me that the computer and the display are compatible -- can anyone tell me which cable I need?

I have been using the display for several years, connected to my G4 PPC Mac Pro. Now that I have a new MacBook Pro, I was thinking of getting rid of the tower and simply using the laptop.
The cord coming out of the back of the display is connected to the tower with both the DVI plug and two USB plugs. It didn't occur to me to look on that cord because my understanding was that there was a port on the display itself, and I always think of that cord as simply a power cord.
I understand getting a DVI-to-Mini DisplayPort converter cable, but the Cinema Display is apparently powered by the Mac Pro tower. Would a laptop be able to power the Cinema Display? And would I have to connect both USB plugs to the laptop? That would take up both of the MacBook Pro's USB ports.

When we click on Depreciation tab here the Depreciation key and use life fields are automatically come with Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15) (Because we maintained in OAYZ)
Here user have a chance to change the Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15).so my requirement is these two fields are display with only display mode .
User don’t have chance to modify this.

The screen layout for Asset and its depreciation tab are different. You have to make these fields as Display only in the screen layout. This can be done using T-Code AO21. Below are the screenshots for the path and screen layout for your reference. This should solve your issue

How do I set a form field to accept whole numbers only?

I am using Acrobat X.
I have a number of fields in a form that are used in a variety of calculations. It is the nature of these fields that they need to contain whole numbers only, no decimals.
On the "Format" tab, I have set the field format to "Number" and the number of decimal places to "0"
On the "Validate" Tab I have set the "Field Value is in Range" "From 0", "To 999"
This is to ensure that the field can only contain a maximum of a three digit number.
But this still allows the user to enter decimal places. This messes up my calculations so I want to limit the user's input to whole numbers.
How do I do that?

I apologize for being dense but I really do not know how to apply your solution. Taking the path you suggested there is nothing under Tools>Document Processing relating to Java scripts.
I presume that I have to save this part somewhere in Acrobat:
