Nokia 2330 - Browser working but applications do ...

Hi!
As mentioned above, I am missing internet connectivity for the applications that I have installed or were installed by Nokia. The mobile-built in browser and e.g. downloading of applications work fine via the GPRS network!
My mobile is hooked up to the Austrian bob network.
Would be glad on any suggestions to fix this problem!!!

Well, that could be the main issue here. You have to set up a packet-data (gprs) connection. In order to do so, you've to contact your service provider or visit their website for the right settings.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Links work in browser preview but not on server?

My GL CS application is doing strange things to me HTML code with the result that my links are not working once uploaded to my server. The links on the pages are working in the browser preview but once uploaded to the server the links are dead. I have used the FTP upload from GoLive ( which has worked just fine in the past 10 years) but I notice that the page code is compiled into one single line once published. So I used a Filezilla to upload to the server with the result that the HTML structure is correct and identical to the one stored in Golive, but the links are still not working.
Does anyone have an idea what aspect I am overlooking. Do I have to update/upload the script? I am thankful for any suggestions to resolve this issue.

Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

Drag it to the trash icon in your dock. This is a disk image, and you need to "eject" it, to get rid of it.

Internet browsing works OK, but not e-mail?

We have an iMac G4 with DSL internet via AT&T/Yahoo, using a 2wire modem. Just bought a new iMac and a D-Link router. The G4 is connected to the router and the modem, set up as required. Wireless service to the new computer is great and we can browse the internet on the G4 OK. The problem: although we're usually able to access our e-mail account (AT&T/Yahoo) on the G4, we're rarely able to get past the home page. Pages just won't load and the effort "times out" within a few minutes. Without the router, e-mail account access is fine; with it - nothing but waiting without success. Our browser is Firefox, but I also tried using Internet Explorer and had the same problem. Our modem has only 1 ethernet port. We're considering buying a new modem with 4 ports; would then connect the router to one and the G4 to another (thus removing the router from the "chain" leading to the G4). Don't know if this would work, but we're out of ideas. I'm also considering buying a splitter to create two ethernet ports (one for G4 and one for the router) from the modem, but I read that's not a smart idea. We've consulted with AT&T (to deal with the service and the modem), D-Link, and our Apple dealer, to no avail. They can't discover any reason for this problem and find it very odd. Any ideas? Email yes but why won't web browser work?

In the last few weeks, both my powerbook G4 with 10.4.6 and my ibook with 9.2 have develop problems browsing the web. my web surfing will be fast and fine and then, without warning, i click a link and it will search without success for as long as ten minutes. i can stop and reclick, try a different web site altogether, quit my browser and relaunch it, try another browser and i can even restart my airport base station. none of these things work. it just reconnects whenever it feels like it. the whole time this is happening, my airport icon is telling me i have a full connection and my email works at regular speed (Entourage), so it isn't like i am completely disconnected from the internet. why would one part of my online connection (email) work perfectly all of the time while my web connection through my browsers works intermittently? especially when everything worked perfectly for eight months prior to this.

You mean that the IP address of the mail server (even for a different ISP's mail server) has been "cached" somehow ? I tried to mention this earlier, ISP's will "cache" the IP addresses for the big-ticket websites and mail servers (like gmail and hotmail maybe).
It can also happen at the network level, usually OSX Server is required, or a PC equivalent - but this isn't usual for individual computers. I suppose it could also happen at browser level, but I don't know of a browser that does this. Cache the IP address of each website visited and it's valid for that session only, would be harmless.
The original poster could take note of the IP address of something big (google) - using traceroute in the Network Utility - next time the web goes south, try accessing via the IP address.
I did hear of a horde of complaints about AirPort and OSX 10.4.5, but none that allowed the user to still receive mail (even from a different ISP). I've searched the discussion forums again just now, nothing. Although there was one thread relating to the inability to use email while the internet worked fine. Maybe you could post a link to the threads you've found.

I have two operational websites that I can't acces!

Try the following:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
Click to view full size
launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
launch iWeb and try again.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

I just spoke with Tesco technical support (having been transferred to them by Clubcard support), who told me that the problems people are experiencing when visiting the Tesco site via Safari aren't currently being addressed because "not enough people have called to complain about it".
I asked what percentage of people he thought might make the effort to call instead of just giving up. He replied that he would be one of those who just gave up.
So it would seem that if we would like the problem to be resolved, we each need to take a few moments to CALL TESCO and ensure our complaint is logged by the technical support team.
