Nokia 2600 low ringtone volume

I've adjusted the ringtone volume as high as I can but it's still very low and I often miss incoming calls. The tone to alert me to an incoming message is good and loud, so the phone is capable of producing a decent ringtone - it just doesn't do it for an incoming phone call. Can anyone help.

It could be that my problem is related to something else that was causing me trouble - that my phone only ever does a very few rings before switching to Voicemail. Maybe it never gets a chance to crank up the volume. Now if you could teach me how to sort that...........
Sorry, but thats really how it works. Few jitters and before it ends. The tone will notch up from minimal up to the maximum. Isn't it inconvenient?

the alarm tone is too weak and even the ringtone is not loud enuf.. any suggestions?

It could be that your phone has got some hardware damage. Please take it to a Nokia Repair Shop and ask them to test it for you and tell you if it is indeed to soft or operating normally.
Experience and persistence are second to none just ask user one.

  • How to raise the ringtone volume te the maximum? (...

hi all im having a prob with my nokia 5200 the ringtone volume when someone calls me is low than it starts raising for like 5 seconds to the maximum ... i want the ringtone volume to be at the maximum from the first second that someone calls me ... PS whats the musical note button on the left side of the mobile phone serve for ? when i press it a mp3 song starts playing but i have like three mp3 songs in the music folder and i can listen to just one

You can't change this....it's a safety feature. Actually I quite like it: it's much less antisocial since it lets you answer the phone before it annoys too many people......

    hi,
What you need to do is go into:
"Settings" then "Tones" and make sure "Incoming Alert" is changed to "Ringing" rather than "Ascending"
    I hope this helps.

  • How do i change  ringtone volume to ring with low volume first and then gradually increase to the max volume ?

how do i change  ringtone volume to ring with low volume first and then gradually increase to the max volume ? this feature was available before but is  still available now ? this is for IOS8 running on Iphone 5c.

I've never been aware of a function like this in the past. You could create a personal ringtone that would last 30 seconds or less and set the volume on that ringtone to do that with an audio editor, such as Audacity.

  • IPhone 5, iOS 7: Alert/Ringtone volumes low...

I updated my black 32gb iPhone 5 to iOS 7 last week and one of the very things I noticed was how many missed calls/texts I had. I couldn't understand why until I went to change my tones to something more attention grabbing.... I noticed that the volume of the alerts and ringtones, including the classics, are too low to be useful. At first I thought it was my imagination until I went to work and my coworkers IDENTICAL phone started ringing, and boy did it sound great. Clear, crisp, loud. I compared her phone running iOS 7 to mine and there was a huge difference in the ringtones & alerts.
So, now that I know it's not just my imagination - I have spent all day looking for other people having this same issue. I have found a few, but nobody has a solution. This is occurring on not only the iPhone 5 but also the iPhone 4 & 4s - but not to everyone. That would lead me to believe that there may be a hardware issue with my phone but here's the rub: It sounded loud, crisp & clear when I was using iOS 6.1.4. So a software issue? If so why wouldn't it be affecting everyone and not just a few of us? This is beyond baffling and frustrating...
Before I take this phone to Apple (thank goodness it is under warranty) I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this issue and FIXED IT. What I've tried so far is turning the volume down and up, turning up all volumes not just the ringer and restoring the phone to factory settings through iTunes. None of it worked (thus this post), therefore as I said if anyone has a solution to this prior to me making the several hour journey to the Apple store I would love to know what it is. Thank you in advance.

I have experienced the same issue of low ringer volume and the penny dropped when music settings came up. I hooked up bluetooth last night to a sound system and changed EQ from bass booster to late night to increase volume on music played from my iPod, which worked, incidentally. I turned off bluetooth and changed EQ from late night to flat and issues were resolved. Turned bluetooth back on played music checked ringtones and volume and not working again. So. Sounds aren't cooperating when bluetooth is enabled for sound I'm guessing. It's the only bluetooth device I'm using now. The same problem exists with TEXT SPEAK which is what I was attempting to get iPhone to do when this ordeal started! I'm exhausted with the minutia of iPhone 5, iOS7 and all things Apple!

  • Ringtone volume keeps setting itself lower!!!??????

I have the iphone 3g and my ringtone volume won't stay up. After a while, if i return to the settings menu, i notice that the ringtone volume has mysteriously gone down. When i woke up this morning, the volume was all the way down. I discovered that it occurs after i make a call. i just set the volume to max, made a call, and after the call the volume was down (and i never touched the volume controls on the side). Please please please help

My 1st gen iphone is up to the same antics. Pre 2.0 all was perfect. Then then update... During calls, if you adjust the volume for either the iphone earpiece, speaker phone, or bluetooth headset (I'm using the Plantronics voyager 520, which was purchased at the apple store), the ringer volume gets adjusted as well.
Just go into the sounds option under settings, make a call, and watch in awe as you adjust your call volume and ringer volume at the same time.
I've missed calls b/c the volume resets it self to a lower (random) setting. Now I must check after every call. The best part is if you push up on your volume button while at the home screen (the ringer volume pop up appears) and note that you have it on the highest setting, go ahead and check the sound option under settings. It will be at some random lower level. Oh my phone never did this on 1.4. I do hope the engineers are reading this and release a fix ASAP. The main purpose of the iPhone is to be a phone. Missing calls due to a low ringer volume is crazy.

  • Nokia Lumia 1020 Very Low Earpiece Volume

    Hi
My Nokia Lumia 1020 has very low earpiece volume. At even maximum volume one can find it really hard to hear. I have brushed off any dust etc.. but still the problem persists. I have also read other users facing similar problems. What a pity that such a great phone cannot fulfil basic purpose of having a phone. What's the solution as I want to switch back to Samsung note 3.

    Hi, hugosilver and kleo1712.
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
To help us isolate the issue, you can not hear the person on the other line, the person on the other line cannot hear you, or the audio quality is poor when in call? There are several fixes that you can try to possibly resolve whichever the exact issue you have with your phone is. SIM works well in other phones. Im sure that the problem is with the phone only. even in headset call volume is low. I ve seen such kind of problemr are posted on internet, but there is no solution!
    it is really annoying
The last resort perhaps is to send the phone to a Nokia Care Point for further device evaluation.

    Here's another suggestion -- MP3Gain
My comments on how to use it and where to find it are here: (link)
The instructions for using it to raise the volume are the same as the instructions posted there for using it to lower the volume.
    One more thing.
At the top of screen, click on "Options" and you'll see this option:
"Don't clip when doing track gain"
When this is checked, MP3Gain will try to raise the volume as close as possible to the value you specified; but it will stop short of that value if that value will cause the ringtone to be distorted.
Omitting the checkmark will remove this restriction
Here is some advice on setting the clipping option I found:
    http://forums.sonyinsider.com/topic/18810-mp3-gain/
"As [far as] setting the target, look at the clipping indicator (red "Y"). you want to target the highest number where the clipping is gone. I find the default 89 put the volume too low for my taste, but pretty much guarantee zero clipping. I find 90 or 91 is good enough in eliminating clipping most of the time."
If you want to apply MP3Gain to audio that you're going to use as music that you're going to listen to on your phone, here's advice on that matter:

  • RINGTONE VOLUME NOT AS LOUD

I used iPhoneRingToneMaker on Windows to send a Ringtone, that I used on my Smartphone, to the iPhone.
The Software works great. However, I found the following:
    1. Transferred the unedited Ringtone (IGotMail) to the iPhone.
    2. Volume is a lot lower than the ringtones that came with the iPhone
    3. Edited the Original Ringtone with the best editing software available, pumped up the volume (amplitude) as much as possible without distortion, and it still is much weaker.
    4. Pumped the volume and Equalization even to just distorting, and transferred again, it plays a little distorted, but still does not have the volume that the built-in ringtones have.
    5. Transferred the same Ringtone with the iTunes to play it on the iPhone iPod player, and it is great. Plenty of volume through the built in speaker.
    6. I tryed this with both .mp3 and .wav
Can anyone explain why this is happening.
    Is is a Firmware problem?
And has anyone used the iTunes to use the Ringtone maker with it?
Do you get the same results (much lower in volume than built in Ringtones)? All the songs that I had purchased does not allow making a Ringtone with them with iTunes.

Have you checked the seetings to see if the ringing stlye is set to "Ringing" and not something like "Ascending"?
The way you've described the 5 sec gradual increase in volume is the ascending feature in Nokia phones. I use it cos it doesn't startle me (and everyone else) with the loud tone at first ring.
