Nokia 2700 Classsic Picture SMS Problem

Hi
I'm using Nokia 2700 Classic. I've a problem with Picture SMS. When I receive a Picture SMS and I wanna forward it as Picture SMS the cell phone make this sms as MMS and I can't send it as SMS. And my service provider charges for MMS. While in Picture SMS it contains equals to 3 text messages. & Nokia 2700 Classic creating a problem for me. Kindly solve it.

Hi and welcome. The 2700 is supported by Nokia Suite. After sync of the SMS's to the suite, they can be exported from the suite as a .csv file to use in other programs.

It may also be possible to transfer the SMS's from the old phone to a new phone via Bluetooth (Connection -> Data Transfer -> Phone Change) but that option may not apply to the 2700 and your new phone.

Even i had the same problem when i've treated phone software to 9.80 using mobile gprs,there were two icons and my music player has become very slow,so i went to nokia care for reformating,the problem of two icons is solved.But music player is still slow even after update of 9.95. So goto care to solve the two icon problem.Please tell me if your having slow music player problem now and after going to care. :-)

New to boards and nokias - eeek!! SMS problem with...

Hope someone can help me with this - it's driving me mad. When I get a new text on my 5800, it doesn't say who it's from it just says 'new message' on the opening screen. Is there any way to get it to say which contact it's from before I open it up?

The only way to get it to tell you who it's from on the main screen is by installing some 3rd party software.
The only program that I currently know of that supports the 5800 is SkyeCaller II. This program also gives you a full screen picture of the sender, if you want it too.

I am too facing the same problem.. its been 4 months only since i bought the phone... i faced the same problm 2 months ago.. & i had to format / software update the phone.. & they said its due to virus& then it became fine...
again recently i faced the problem... & i did the software update just today ! .. but the sms problem still remains...
gets stuck in the outbox.. saying RESEND (in 3 mins gap)
Sometimes when i type the message from conversation's reply.. it works.. but i cant send forwards

I am facing problem with my device i have installed 9.98 version firmware .
The firmware has the following problems:
24/7 music library is under update process.
The always allow permissons to java app for data and netwok acces is not available.
I hope you will do is as soon as possible.

What you may be trying is a process not approved by Nokia and hence can't be discussed on this Forum. You need to check thru' Nokia Suite if any update is available and if so follow instructions that you see .. You may also contact your local Nokia Care if they can help you ...

Nokia 2700 loss network connection!

On the new phone Nokia 2700 classic (after official upgrade to firmware ver. 09.95) periodically disappears icon of a signal of a network, after a while phone show the message "Error of registration of a sim card" and an inscription "there is no service" on the screen. After disappearance of the indicator of a network it is impossible to make a call and to fulfil USSD-inquiry, while on other phone (other brand) with a SIM-card of the same operator the network works absolutely normally. The network appears only after device reboot, hand-held search of a network does not help even. Network miss is often observed at attempt to be connected to EDGE, also the signal can disappear and itself, without what or my operations, in a standby mode. Replacement of a SIM-card has not given any result. Phone works in a range 1800 MHz.
Somebody faced such problem? If it is linked to a bug in upgrade when it is possible to expect the new version from Nokia?

Nokia 2700 Ovi synchronize contacts settings

I have a new Nokia 2700 and I'm trying to synchronize the contacts from OVI account to this mobile.
In "Settings" -> "Configuration" -> "Personal config sett" I've added a "synchronisation" having the following settings:
- account name: ovi
- server address: https://sync.ovi.com/services/syncml
- user name: ovi's login
- password: ovi's password
- contacts database: database address: ./contact/unfiled
- use pref. access pt.: yes (it works for ovi store)
I go to "Menu" -> "Contacts" -> "Synchronise all" -> Synchronise data with Personal config.Ovi? Contacts -> Yes:
it says "Finalizing synchronisation" and after that: "Data transfer not possible"
Any ideas?

problem solved:
first, I had to put some money on my pre-paid sim
after this, it was impossible for me to login to www.ovi.com from the mobil device, because the upper right corner, where login button is, failed to be displayed.
so I logged in from my pc, added the new device and from this everything went great.

I corrently have software version 9.97 I dont know if there is a newer version bcus any time i try to update it shows no new software update available please help me bcus my dosnt last anymore with version 9.98

The most recent update release for the Nokia 2700 Classic (RM-561) is version 9.98. This update is probably the last for the aformentioned phone.
If you are experiencing problems with your phone you may use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool for resetting.

Nokia 2700 bluetooth key sequence (broken display)...

Hi all, I have a nokia 2700 thats screen is broke after i dropped it. I need to get some things off and need to know the key sequence for turning on my bluetooth so i can browse it with my mac, i tried to download a plug in but need isync which i dont have and cant afford so if anyone can tell me how to turn bluetooth on i would be so so so greatful!

Unfortunately it is a bit complicated as your phone does not support copy/paste. There is a workaround though, make a full backup of your phone with Nokia Suite (as you are using Mac, you'll need to get an access to a Windows PC to do this).
If you do not have another Nokia 2700 available, your only option to get the data is to use an application that can open up the backup file and show it's contents. Please see this thread for more information on that. Please note that it is not an official Nokia application, so we cannot provide you with instructions on how to use it.

Clear browser cache. If u've large no of messages >500 on the phone then delete them. Move the files in the gallery & games/applications from phone memory to memory card.

any way to view the msgs sent to me in urdu? coz i am in pakistan and ppl send me msgs in urdu but i just get question marks and cannot read them

Myself, I've never seen an Urdu version of Palm OS before, sorry.
AT&T (the company that bought Cingular) doesn't use Picture SMS, only MMS to send pictures.
Emailing pictures from the phone is another way.

I had an microSD card in my nokia 2700 classic. One day i dropped my phone and screen got crackled.
The problem is that i set up before microSD password in this phone, but now I can't access to this SD card because first i must remove the SD card password.
So i know, when i turn on my nokia 2700, i know how to go to the gallery, but i cant remember anymore which option it was to type in the password and remove it.
i mean something like this:
1) rename
2) format
3) remove sd card password
could anyone help me? i really need this stuff from my sd card.

It can be two things, either the software is corrupted or the bluetooth module inside the phone is failing.
You may try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool which can be obtained on this page http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/mobile/support/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA142987
Or if the above does not fix the issue, send the phone again to a Nokia Care Point and request your phone to be checked and evaluated for possible hardware repairs.

Nokia 2700 disconnects from computer

Hi,
I have purchased nokia 2700 and attached it with my computer on Fedora 10. The mobile disconnects from the computer when I recieve a call or message. This is very unusual for me, as it should not be disconnected and should remain attached with my computer in pc suite mode. I have to unplug and then reconnect the mobile with the computer to get it working.
Can any body help me to solve this issue? Is this a software problem, or is it due to the version of Symbian OS?
Please advise!
