Nokia 2710 firmware bleep?

I just bought a 2710c-2 Navigation Edition.
I have to complaints about this phone:
1. Many times callers say that they have an unacceptable echo when speaking. This echo appears in normal mode. I mean not when I switch to handsfree or using a Blue Tooth set. THIS IS THE MOST ANNOYING PROBLEM. THAT'S WHAT A PHONE IS MADE FOR: TO MAKE CALLS PROPERLY.
2, The navigation should work with "map rotation" . Now matter how I shake, turn or flip the phone, it won't calibrate. I read in USA-forum posts that this issue occurred after updating firmware to v. 9,67 or 9.69.
My phone came with firmware v 9.69.
I reinstalled the firmware 9.69 a few times with Ovi Suite, but no results. Is this firmware **bleep** or is it the hardware itself
Any ideas how to resolve the problems?? Perhaps Nokia can reply?

Now bluetooth doesn't work (yes is no available) and gps is always in "looking at current position"... with a-gps too.

guys the new firmware has small fonts it is not good.further iam looking for other changes in log

buddy they have improved the bluetooth. its nice.
LT font router is also not working so u have to remain with small font but psiloc font magnifier works

Navigation with NOKIA 2710 vs. C5

-need help from somebody who has experience/knowledge of:

- NOKIA C5
- NOKIA 2710 (nav.edition)
My ex-girlfriend has a
NOKIA C5
& I have a NOKIA 2710(nav.edition)
when we use
MAPS/NAVIGATION,
her
NOKIA C5
shows the legal speedlimit of the road we travel on & it even gives a warning when we go over the legal speedlimit...

doesn't seem to have the speedlimit (&speed warning) function...

Very odd, not known a phone to be missing it's product code from the label under the battery before.
Have you tried connecting your phone to the computer and running the Nokia Software Updater?
This will tell you if there's an available update.
Be aware if your phone is network branded then it's highly unlikely that an update will be available. Most networks don't like approving new updates.

Nokia 2710 fail to upgrade

Hello to all,
yesterday i bought a new one nokia 2710 and i just want to upgrade it by OVI.
something go wrong with the connection, and the device restart everytime with the old FW..
I check the upgrade compatibility and seems ok..but it fail.

I solved all the problems on my new Nokia 2710c-2: (1) not being able to do the backup and (2) getting error code 12017 whle trying to update the software wit Ovi 3.0.0.2900.
The solution so simple: I deactivated the Pin Code request. The phone kept locking itself out after a few seconds asking for the pin code for reactivation. I did not realize at first this would also impare the communication via the USB port.
Oh well, better later than never. I hope my solution will help other people as well.

Nokia E90 firmware download problem

Hi - I'm trying to update my Nokia E90 firmware from 210.34.75 to 300.34.84 and the 81.9MB file downloads perfectly (in under 3 minutes) until it gets to 60.3MB and then stops. Any ideas? I've un-installed the entire PC Suite and its add-ons, an no luck. Any ideas? Thanks, Ian.

I also had trouble downloading the software upgrade (from version 7.xx to version 300.34.84) for my E90. I tried three times before it actually begun to download - upon which, the download and upgrade went by successfully. I agree that the upgrade - even from my very old/early firmware - was almost completely pointless. Some of the trouble I'm having now is with the Download! folder, specifically the Applications subfolder - it does not update it's context - actually, it's totally unaccessible. Also, the Windows Live Application no longer works - and I'm unable to download a fresh copy.
I backed up all the data on the phone prior to the firmware upgrade - as required for the retention of software certificates and data.
Symbian connected me to the world, to my dreams.. Thank-you Nokia

Nokia 6303c Firmware and Prblms!!1

I have some prblms with Nokia 6303c , currently installed firmware 9.10, ometimes browsing theme folder or senting messages the phone automatically restarts , another prblm Camera has some lines when in low light is it a 3.2MP, image taken in good lihjting conditions seems Blured loss of detail, and internel memory is very low 17mb , plz it should be fixed and The ringtone volume and sms alert volume is low, when compared to even Nokia 2700c, i know there is later firmware update is available which is 10.12 , but i saw a comment tat it will reduce camera quality, so i did not update it, and plz give a better firmware updates...

Nokia 5610 firmware update....................

im having a little problem with my nokia 5610 firmware update.
The problem is that after updating my phone with version 8.30 the slide animation feature of my phone is not working. On slide open\close the picture set in the theme is supposed to appear but nothing appears.
Before the update this feature was working perfectly fine. i reported about this issue to nokia customer care also but they just advised me to wait for the next firmware i.e. v9.40 . As the new firmware released on my product code i again updated my phone's firmware and this time with version 9.40. Still it did not help me. The same problem persists . Please note here that nothing went wrong during the update . All other features of my phone are working perfectly fine .
Can anyone please help me on this issue??????

The version 10.00 for the Nokia 5610 has been around since early July, so certainly it would be available for all countries in the APAC region.
Just make sure the phone is fully charged and backed up and you're set to update.

I plug Nokia 2710 in USB in Mac computer OSX 10.6.4, and I see 3 options:
1. PC suite
2.Print &media
3. Data storage
My questions are about option 1. PC suite.
When I select it, I can see in Network Preferences
2 icons for Nokia phone:
Nokia 2710c
and
Nokia 2711
and on the Network Preferences pane there are options to configure them with options to set telephone number,account name and password.
(My Nokia 2710 is connected and works with mobile phone network Virgin in Australia)
How exactly to set these configurations and how to use them?
And which one to configure - Nokia 2710c or Nokia 2711?

Nokia 6680 firmware update

Has anyone else had trouble updating the nokia 6680 firmware. My current firmware is V3.04.11 and i have read that the new version is V5.04.07 but the updater says there is no updates for my phone.

Or [latest version] for your operator variant... If you have operator spesific phone it's SW releases are approved by operator and Nokia's updater apparently is kind enough to install only latest version of whatever your dear operator has approved for you. My 6680 (generic, non-subsidised version) updated to 5.04.07 just fine with the updater.

Update Nokia phone firmware version

How do you update phone firmware version?
1. Download Nokia pc suite and use NSU.(For Windows User only)
2. Try over the Air update (MAC/Windows User)
If your mobile data rates allow, try doing an over the air update. Support varies by phone, variant and software
Go to tools >Utilities> Device manager (location may vary by device)
There should be an updates tab
This functionality may not be available in your device. Contact your service provider for more information
To view or update the current software version of your device or to check the date of a possible previous update, select Menu> Tools> Utilities> Device mngr
To check whether software updates are available select Options> Check for Updates
First off BACK UP YOUR DEVICE! make sure you have a back up of the memory card and also the device memory and make sure that the battery of your device has enough power or connect the chager before starting update. To start the update select access point. The device starts to download the device data.
When the data is downloaded the update description is displayed. Select Accept to accept the download of the update package or cancel to cancel the download. IT may take several minutes and you can use your device during the download but not during installation time.
Server Profile Settings
Menu> tools> utilities> Device Manager
to add a new server profile seleat Options> New server profile.
Contact your service provider for correct settings
Server name- Enter a name for the configuration server
Server Id- Enter the unique ID to identify the configuaration server
Server Password- Enter a password to identify your device to server
Access point- Select the access point to connect to the server
Host Address- Enter the url address of server
Port-Enter the port number of the server
User name & password- Enter your username and password for the server
Allow configuration- To allow receiving configuration settings from this server select yes
Auto Accept all requests-To have your device ask for your confirmation before accepting configuration from this server. Select NO
Network Authentication- Select if network authentication is used. Enter your Network username and Network password to identify your device to the server.

Before updating your Nokia's firmware you should check that the newer version does not break Bluetooth and iSync abilities.
From the many reports on these and other forums, it seems people who have recently updated their Nokia phones firmware have found it impossible to get their phone and Mac to communicate.
