Nokia 3100 isn't ringing

i have nokia 3100 and it stopped ringing i tried removing a battery and restoring factory settings, but it still does not ring does somebody have any ideas?
P.S. i havent dropped it

It happens. It could be a drop of water in the wrong place or sometimes they just blow.
If it makes you feel better, remove the battery and leave it out for at lest 5 minutes and restart. This should fully reboot the phone. See if the speaker comes back.

I have a nokia 3100 which for some reason has developed a problem (Probably pressed the wrong buttton)
When someone rings me, I eccept the call as usual but i cannot hear them unless i hit the loadspeaker button.. also the phone does not seem to want to go to voicemail when not answered..

The 3100 is a MIDP 1.0 phone.
I guess those games you tried downloading are MIDP 2.0 (since they were bundled with the WTK 2.1).

Nokia 3100/6610i Application Download "Unknown Error"

Hi Folks,
I am trying to download a 45 KB application on my Nokia 3100 and 6610i from server (Apache-JK2->Tomcat). Many times, i have found Unknown error in blank page during connecting to the server or installation of application. The JAD file settings are desired ones From forums.nokia i found that there might be problem with mime type setting in Apache or Tomcat. I described the mime type in both server for jar and jad file as specified in standard. But still the Unknown error occurs.
Also describing the network here as slow, lots of connectivity error happen like
1. Data Bearer not available
2. GPRS Connection time out
3. Connection time out, please try again.
Is there some error description document or reference available, whcih can provide a good description about such errors. Generally required during explanation to customers :)

If you haven't tried it yet, I'd eliminate memory issues first. Close all of the apps with the double tap on the home button method

How to run our own jar files on Nokia 3100

I am new to J2me.
I have written an J2me application using CLDC1.1
and MIDP 2.0 it works well on emulator but
when i tried to run it on device(Nokia 3100) it displays an error "Invalid File"
please answer my question as soon as possible

Look at this link http://www.j2mepolish.org/devices/Nokia/3100.html and check to see if you aren't using some API which is not supported by your Nokia 3100 phone, or if the jar size is to big, stuff like that.
Also, use a Nokia emulator for the Series 40 to test and see if it works.

Nokia 3100 phone problem

Hello. It was at least a week back when my mobile suddenly stopped responding, it's shut down permanently. When I had luck and entered my PIN code(and the mobile didnt crash), when I tried to make any entry into it ( such as numbers, sms's etc.), it crashed. Once I have written a short sms, but that's it.
Now the mobile won't even power on anymore. And if it does, I enter like 2 PIN numbers and that's it. The battery appears to be charged.
I dunno. People tell me it's because it's old, some suggest it has been frozen due to the weather.

Age : 2 years
Battery: BR-5C 3.5V Li-ion

I was commonly using it for 2 years, I really don't know what is going on.
I bought a new battery today -
(BR-5C). Inserted it in and turned on, nothing. So I plugged the phone into a recharger, after 10 mins it beeped and started recharging.
So I turned on the phone again, and the same problem occurred - ''Insert PIN code'' , after pressing a button or two the phone won't respond anymore and shut itself down after good 10 seconds. It turned randomly off and on, too :/
It'll be great if you could help.

have u stored too many ringtones,wallpapers etc in ur Gallery?and is there is only little free phone memory?if yes then that's the reason for ur phones problem(i faced the same problem when i was Nokia 3120 user).........if this is not the case then i think that it is a software issue,go to Nokia Care they will fix it up 4 u....good luck.

Nokia 3100 problem

I have downloaded the games package, which comes with the Sun Wireless Toolkit 2.1, to my Nokia 3100 phone. I can�t open the games on my phone, the only option available is delete. I�m sure that my phone is compatible with Java2 but I can�t seem to get any programs to work. Does anyone know why they are not working? Thanks for your help.

Customising a "Go To" menu on a Nokia 3100

I have got a Nokia 3100 and I am trying to customise the "Go To" menu so that it includes extra options of my choice. There is a facility to select or deselect the options that are already on the list, but few of them are ones that interest me. What I want to do is to add extra options to that list so that I can then select them to be added to the "Go To" menu.
Checking on p70 and p107 of the pdf User Guide refers to removing or adding more functions to the "Go To" menu but it restricts them to the ones on the specific list. There's no mention of adding new ones. Searching the Nokia knowledge database doesn't help as the words "Go" and "To" are automatically omitted from searches!
There MUST be a way to do it but I simply can't figure it out. Can you help?

Is there any birthday alarm program for S60 similar to the S40 ones? In S60, I am forced to set birthdays as "Anniversaries", and even then if I forget to view them, they 'disappear'.. in S40 phones, they persisted on the screen until I clicked on OK. In other ways too, I find birthday reminder implementation of S40 much better. Is there any similarly capable S60 program?

Nokia 5200 does not 'ring'

Hi,
I have a nokia 5200 which has worked perfectly since i bought it 2 months ago. However, since this morning it no longer 'rings'. I have checked the ringtone, volume etc but nothing doing.
The touchpad beeps but the welcome signal and the ringtones are not working.
Any advice appreciated.

ensure there is signal strength.
if you are using a headset ensure it is detached as it won't ring through the speaker.
check the phone's profile isn't silent, flight, online.

Nokia 2310 Alarm not ringing

Hi Im having trouble with my Nokia 2310 Alarm clock
Basically, it doesnt ring. When the alarm goes off the screen lights up and flashes but theres no vibration or ring.
When i recieve calls the phone vibrates and rings
I dont know whats wrong with my phone, ive played around with all the settings and cant seem to fix it. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know

Its a problem occured in savings at temporary memory.
You turn off Alarm option in the mobile and switch off the mobile, remove battery and leave the mobile without battery for 5 min. After 5 min, turn on your mobile and enable your Alarm option with your preferred ring tone or standard alarm tone and wake up early

Nokia E52 No SMS ring

My E52 doesn't ring when a new SMS massage received, I'm getting only the Notification light alert, I've installed the latest software and reset to factory setting but without success.

Nokia 6630: Headset and ring question.

Is there any setting to make the ring come out of the phone's loudspeaker, instead of the connected headset?

Sadly the only thing you can do is set the vibrate and hope you feel it. People generally wear the headset when they have it connected as trying to put it on may be considered an offence, like smoking, you are not in full control of the vehicle. It is probably one of the many Nokia safety features like the volume getting turned down or sadly on mine no sound coming out of the headset. lol doubt that is a safety feature.

HSDPA 10.2 in Nokia N8 isn't working?

When I compare the speed of internet browsing thru packect data between Nokia N8 & HTC Wildfire ...there's a lot to write about it..
Tested thru the same operator/carrier sim for both the mobiles..with normal 2G connection
For HTC the speed is around 200KBPS where as for Nokia N8 its damn...20 KBPS max..
HTC shows H symbol where as N8 shows E symbol. Tried changing the connection mode changed to Dual Mode and GSM by default.
No idea on whats happening or isthere something really missingout in N8 or setup required.
Mobiles compared are Nokia N8 and HTC Wildfire
Operator is Airtel Andhra Pradesh
Sim is 64 K
Tested at the same location (with the same tower coverage)
Tried rebooting by deleting all the cache too
When I compare the specs for both mobiles only the difference is HTC is 512 RAM where as N8 is 256 RAM. All other features are N8 is better than HTC.
Any suggestoins from forum veteran members or NOKIA should really look into it?

Sorry professior's and other mates....for the confusion that's been going on....
Just to brake somewhere, I have break'd the HTC to get the SIM out. The moment I inserts that SIM in my Nokia N8 it started showing 3.5G, ofcousre after restart only.
So, my observations are,
though the the SIM in HTC said to be 2G only, somehow, 3G got activated on that and that is the reason it's showing 3.5G in N8 because network mode is set to 'Dual' in N8. And when I tried to download a game from store of 12GB size, I could get it in minute with a amazing constant speed of 264kBps.
And when I insert the SIM of N8 which is said to be 2G only in HTC, the story is same, max speed is around 20 kBps.
So, finally what we understood is, though the operator is charging for 2G rentals, infact the SIM is 64K(no confusion over here, 64K is written on physical SIM and that's how they differentiate it here in our location), it's actually functioning as 3G...this is allabout SIM of HTC. Guess, Dual mode is been selected even in HTC too...Whereas, the same case with the SIM of N8, but it's working perfectly fine what it is said to be, that is 2G.
So conclusion is, my I'm proud to be owner of my Nokia N8, the best symbian phone that I ever used since a decade.

Note: Now, I can not go back to the network operator and complaint on my colleagues HTC, though both of us are paying same charges but not getting the same kind of speed. If I do that, my colleague will never forgive me. Let him enjoy the blazzing 3G speed for normal 2G charges.
