Nokia 311 asha - wifi????

Nokia, I get mad. My son bought yesterday a Nokia Asha 311. So far everything was ok. But what I do, you can not connect it to the internet via wifi!
I updated the phone recently. But it did not help.
I have read threads where other owners of that particular phone also living in pain around this problem. It would be great to hear from you how to solving the problem? But it may not be possible - your system in your phone might be bad?

This is just a trick played by few users regarding Asha 501 SW update.They are now following the same now in case of Asha 311. !
The best explanation is this way -- " A random guy posts regarding the update information(Though he doesnt know),then everyone will be checking that info and woud be thinking that update would be really available after prescribed date.(almost 80% of users trust this info because they just need update and not the one who posted it). And now when they realise that there is no update they start Blaming Nokia thinking that it would release update because of demand !

Nokia 201 asha email

Hi i have the nokia 201 asha,ive noticed on my fone in the menu section theres a @button for mail it says,is this where i can access my emails im with hotmail.co.uk,i understand i have to have paid for data access in my payg provider giffgaff,or is this button for nokia mail only,can some one please let me know also what nokia mail is,

The @ button that you can see on the homescreen of your phone serves as a shortcut if you would want to access your email instantly without accessing the Menu of your phone.
Nokia Mail formerly Ovi Mail, is a free email service. You can get free email address with free webmail and mobile phone access.

Nokia 201 asha data usage

Hi ive got the nokia 201 asha fone
my network provider charges for data usage even when your not using it,ive set it up for my emails with hotmail.co.uk and facebook,to keep intouch with family while away from home which admittedly wont be very often hence i dont have it as part of my package and im on payg,
ive had to delete it as i dont want to be charged when not using them,
is there any way i can put the settings back on but turn it off so that im not downloading data updates when not in use

easiest way is to switch your phone to Offline mode, not sure if there is a data toggle on the Asha series of phones like there is on Symbian.

Nokia lumina 620 wifi issue!!!!!

I I'm getting **bleep** of my Nokia lumia 620 wifi issue. It's been working fine till mid September. On n off wifi is connected but can't use the internet. After a while it's fine. But why it's happening?? I bought it on 5 may 2013 and giving issue now. Sometimes my wifi is not detected, and when wifi is connected I can't use internet for 15min. This is not good. Please help me. Thanks

Have you tried rebooting your router? While at it, also check for router updates.

While Nokia Suite does not allow this, downgrading the software will render the phone inoperable.
You can set the phone to check for new updates automatically from “auto SW update” menu.

Did the display fade out and did the whole software restarted?
That is called a soft-reboot and indicates a programming issue (software bug) within your phone. Especially if circumstances are like yours – broken hardware (microSD) – the software does not know how to continue correctly and does a soft-reboot. This is no unusual with Nokia software and does not indicate any virus. Furthermore, I am not aware of any virus which is able to damage an SD card on that level, you are experience. It would not even make sense, because a virus wants to spread himself.
If that behaviour continues, turn off your Nokia phone. Let it alone for one minute (to make sure it is really turned-off) and then remove the battery for one minute. Then everything should be back to normal. If not, I would first change the SIM rather than investing all the time to reset the phone.

Connecting a Nokia 9500 to wifi.

the first time your connecting to internet it will ask u for access point >select easy Wlan> it will search for the wlan available the select your router> enter wep key if theres any security.

Nokia Lumia 521 - WiFi connected, but no internet ...

I have a brand new Lumia 521 on T-Mobile. I set up the wifi connection and it shows connected. However, there is no internet connection. Cannot download any app or anything.
Trouble Shooting: Rebooted the phone couple of times. Turned on/off wifi. delete/re-connect wifi.
Reboot wireless router couple of times.
Turned off the data service on my phone and only wifi is on now. Checked my router that there is an entery for my Windows Phone, but could not get any logs.
Nothing helped so far...
Loaded my sim with funds, thinking if something no fund is blocking it somewhere :-D
Everything is fine on my other smartphones.

At least you have 8.1. Those of us with 521 not updated yet, no real answers. Someone at Nokia going to close thread cuz no one posting. What to post, you should've been a politician with the no answer answer. Whole experience makes me rethink Microsoft and Nokia altogether. Both companies I used to believe in and support. Even word and excel don't sync well from phone to desktop. Backup for what? Only if you reset phone. That is backup even DOS using command lines would have been ashamed of (honestly so long ago don't remember if it had backup but I know my 386SX did) Pictures duplicate, triplicate and repopulate after deleted and I have backup to cloud turned off. seems Microsoft thinks differently than I about this issue? It continues to bring back a pic of EX that i hate...Great reminder!!!!. Phone storage eaten and not accessible to delete. Not allowed to delete certain apps that came with phone. Now I delete apps I prefer and no space becomes available? Do not use Nokia cinemagraph. Can't be viewed anywhere but on phone without converting. And what phone/camera has no flash? My parents old 110 (I think) at least had a cube. Poloroid built in...just saying that was the early 80s. Now lock screen and theme (ugly muted colors, btw) not working, can't get space back even when hooked to desktop, use cloud 6 now to keep phone and cloud from changing between app and desktop, have to convert all Nokia files, and most apps not available from what I can gather because Microsoft limits us. Nokia and Microsoft, get your acts together before marketing with one another. And, have answers to these questions. If you can't do it right, don't do it all. Maybe best to walk away from one another. Although, other than poor apps and flimsy phone, I am more disappointed in a guru conglomerate that doesn't care about the user. You keep trying to catch up with Mac and Droid...not at this rate. Excel fave program to use and love outlook. But this is crap on a stick, SOS and plain junk. And, the mighty do fall. I remember original Apple having market, commodore 64 and Tandy? Two of the three no longer exist. IBM was a typewriter back then, as far as I was aware. For Nokia, Here doesn't usually get me to correct place with full addy and zip entered) Not a good platform or flimsy phone. Can't wait to go back to Droid....so, I suggest every time I can't find an answer from one of your sites, you stop asking what I think. Here it is. And, I could keep going and going....atop asking if you don't give a hoot.. and, I'm sure this will never be posted cuz Microsoft determines what I can and can't do with this thing

Nokia Lumia 1320 Wifi error Could Not Connect To T...

Hi,
I'm having trouble with my phone connecting with my Wifi router model Netgear WNAP210 Router, when I type the password in it says either that it is unable to connect or sometimes that the password is incorrect!!
I have contacted Netgear and they suggested changing the router name to remove any underscore symbols "_", I did this today but still get this annoying message on the phone.
I've tried deleting found connections and starting from scratch and have also amended the router name (which shows correctly when scanning for Wifi on the Nokia). Now it's starting to get me really wound up....please please help?

Hi, AdamTh. Make sure that your phone's software and system apps are updated. You should see 'Lumia Cyan' under Settings> extras+info to confirm that you have the latest software update. FACEBOOK PROBLEM NOKIA 302 ASHA

hello !! . I am really upset that my nokia asha 302 cannot run the facebook application installed on the phone and I don't know what to do!!! Please help. The phone is brand new, it was purchased in a local store, has all documents in place including the warranty certificate, but the phone doesn't run the facebook app unless I use the internet browser. Tried to use the browser to connect to facebook and it works every single time, including on wireless networks, but the Facebook application installed in the phone doesn't work at all, and this happened since the very first day of use of my phone. I am using the phone for 2 months now, bought it 2 months ago and it didn't work at all under the FB application since I first used the phone. The browser and the internet both work. Please advise, thanks !!

Yeah that problem is not a problem actually. .
Launch the app with the mobile data on. It may take several times or it may not start on that time.
Try launching the app with mobile data on frequently.
At a certain time the internet would work efficiently on the app and hence the app would work.
It happened with my Asha 230 as well Asha 501.
Note: Keep sure that you have the latest version of Facebook.

Nokia n8 wlan wifi connectivity problems

I purchased Nokia N8 about 2 months ago. Lovely phone, camera etc. However I am having serious issues with wlan/wifi. I have set up my phone to connect only to wifi or wlan. I believe I have all the settings correct. But when I try to connect to the web I keep getting the message that connection charges will be incurred etc and when I click on it goes online using my phone internet ie O2 wap service or my O2 internet service. Therefore I am being charged even though I have connected to wifi. I have tried everything but this is getting really annoying. I am abroad at the momen and my hotel has free wifi etc. Even when I have gone into my O2 store I might aswell be talking to the wall. No good. I should have purchased an Apple I4. Can someone please help me.

For all people experiencing problems with N8 (and some C series phones) and WLAN connections : Is your router a Linksys, Alcatel, Thompson or Speedtouch?
I had a Speedtouch 585 router v7 and couldn't connect to my home WiFi, but could connect at my friends' Wi-Fi's. I tried renaming the SSID with no blanks, manually setting the IP's and DNS, but the problem persisted. And the problem was the router. Since the firmware upgrade, the QoS (Quality of service) parameter cannot be tampered with. You have to turn it off manually. To do so, do this :
1) Open a command line window (start-->accessories-->command line OR start-->run--> type "cmd")
2) type telnet 192.168.1.254 and press enter (this was the router's IP address in my case, it may be 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.0.1) (If it doesn't connect right-click the connection icon at the bottom of the screen-->properties-->TCP/IP and note the IP address)
3)enter your username and press enter (default admin)
4)enter your password and press enter (default <blank>)
5)the router command line logo should appear. Type wireless and press enter
6)type qos and press enter
7)type config mode disabled and press enter
8)type saveall and press enter
9)type exit and press enter
Find your WiFi in your N8 as usual (delete any previous access points of your WiFi if any) and set it as first in priority (in N8 : settings-->connectivity-->settings-->network destinations-->internet)
You are ready !

Bear in mind that there are two processes at work, firstly the Assisted GPS feature accessed through "Positioning" only requiring very small amounts of data for a positional fix and secondly within Nokia Maps application where "Go-online at start up" may be "Yes, No or Always ask"
