Nokia 3161: Listen to radio via bluetooth device

I have a Nokia 6131 and want to listen to the radio via a standard bluetooth device. I am unable to accomplish this because the phone requires a wired headset to be connected to the phone. The wire of the headset functions as the antenna and if no wired headset is connected the radio cannot be activated. As long as a wired headset is connected to the 6131 no bluetooth device can be paired to the phone and if the wired headset is connected after a bluetooth device is paired, the existing link to the bluetooth device is automatically deactivated. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks for the quick response. May I label this design decision from Nokia as not very clever! In stronger words: to me is appears to be a flaw, because it now causes that I can indeed listen to music via my bluetooth device if it is stored on my Nokia 3161 but I cannot listen to the radio-device on the same Nokia 3161 without physically connecting the wired headset. And all this just because the radio requires the wired headset as an antenna! Am I, as a non-technical consumer, expected to understand this? Can't this designflaw be mended via a software update of the firmware. Maybe somebody from Nokia can respond to this?

  • Can i connect my ipod classic to my car radio via bluetooth so that I can listen whilst driving?

Can I connect my Ipod Classic to my car radio using bluetooth (or any other way) so that I can listen through my radio whilst driving?

Yes, get an iFM transitter from eBay or Amazon.
Search for Griffin or Monster or just iPod Classic FM transmitter and charger, they are inexpensive less than US$30.
Get one with charger or else you iPod might run out of battery faster.

  • 1.1.3 listen to podcasts via bluetooth?

Has anyone checked to see if after the 1.1.3 update one can still listen to podcasts using the apple bluetooth headset instead of wired headphones? It’s one of my must haves. Thanks to the brave soul who takes the 30 seconds to check.
    -Craig

Glad goshia got the reference, but podcasting via bluetooth works under 1.1.2, I’m just trying to find out if it works in 1.1.3.
If someone has an apple bluetooth headset and already upgraded their iphone to 1.1.3 (and wants some positive karma) would you please:
-make sure bluetooth headset is paired
-from main page touch phone icon
    -touch voicemail (bottom right)
-touch audio (upper right hand corner)
    -choose iphone bluetooth headset
-then hit home button (only button on front of iphone)
    -touch ipod icon
    -touch podcasts
    -select and play a podcast.
The speaker on the iphone will also play, but the podcast plays through bluetooth headset as well. (or at least it does under 1.1.1 or 1.1.2) This is what I’m trying to ascertain before upgrading to 1.1.3
Please let it play for 1 min. to be sure the connection holds.
I thank you for your help.

  • Ringtone bug with car radio via Bluetooth

My Lumia 520 pairs with my Sony car radio just like my old Nokia did, but there's an odd problem with the ringtone:  when I receive a call, the phone vibrates and then instead of the radio playing my ringtone and the phone remaining silent, the radio plays some Windows alert tone while at the same time my phone plays its ringtone.
Anyone else seen anything like that?

Yes, get an iFM transitter from eBay or Amazon.
Search for Griffin or Monster or just iPod Classic FM transmitter and charger, they are inexpensive less than US$30.

  • IPad pairing via Bluetooth to Nokia mobile

I have tried without success to pair my Nokia mobile to my iPad via Bluetooth.
Both my mobile and the iPad can see each other but won't pair !
Anyone know if this possible ?

I do not think it is supported. Try search apple's support page for bluetooth and iPad. I found this but there are others.

  • Is it possible to transfer photos, files from iphone 5s to macbook pro via bluetooth?

Before I got the iphone 5s, I was using a Nokia phone.  I was able to transfer photos, files from my Nokia phone to macbook pro via bluetooth connections.  It was very simple and POSSIBLE (even though apple support staff said it was not possible to do so).  My macbook pro does NOT need to be paired with Nokia phone as long as it can DISCOVER the nokia phone and vice versa.
Hence, after i got the iphone 5s recently, I'd expected both devices (iphone 5s and macbook pro) to communicate and connect via bluetooth as easily as Nokia phone.  However, I was disappointed to find out the iphone 5s kept "searching" for discoverable device even though my macbook DISCOVERED the iphone!!  Thus, I was NOT able to transfer any files from these two devices.
Any apple technical people care to explain why BOTH are apple products cant work?  A Nokia phone and macbook can.  Very strange, isn't it?

Althought, you can use bluetooth to transfer photos, files from iPhone to Macbook,However,it is so slowly,if you want to quickly copy photos/files from iPhone to Mac,you can use tools or software to help you, such as iStonsoft iPhone to Mac Transfer,This is a very professional tool,Hope this helps!

  • ITunes radio now requires a username and password to listen to radio!

I recently noticed that when I try to listen to radio via iTunes it asks me for a "Members Only on pri.kts.-af.net" username and password. I have never had this issue before. Anyone know what happened or know where I can get a username and password?

My current theory is that there must have been some problem with internet options. Unable to find anything to change, I have just uninstalled internet explorer 9.
    Seems okay so far....
iTunes wifi sync seems less buggy too.
Time will tell. Will update if this has not solved the problem.

  • Is there anyway to connect iphone to other devices via bluetooth.like nokia and other phones

Is there anyway to connect iphone to other devices via bluetooth.like nokia and other phones

    No
Bluetooth is supported for stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone devices/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the app store, and tethering where provided by the carrier.
Other than this, it will not connect to any computer/phone/device.

  • Strange Mobile device tried to connect to my iMac via Bluetooth! Should I be concerned?

I woke up this morning with a pop-up message saying that a mobile device tried to pair with my system but was rejected most likely from an incorrect password. I've always had "bluetooth" enabled. Never used it though, I have a wired mouse and keyboard. I never thought about possible threats occuring from this until now. I originally had all default settings turned on for bluetooth but no sharing enabled. I clicked off "discoverable" and turned bluetooth off altogether. My concern is that I am seeing a "T-Mobile myTouch Q" Smartphone in the list. I don't own this type of phone. I've never had a t-mobile phone or know anybody who does. I tried to "browse" the device but I get an error. I am unable to remove the device from my list.
It doesn't appear to be connect or ever have been connected to my knownledge but I would like it taken off.
Is there any way somebody can hack your iMac via a mobile device? I went on a researching rampage this morning but am unsure of what to think at this point. If bluetooth only operates up to 30 feet of range, who could possibly have wanted to connect at 4-5 am in the morning? Also, if they were paired, exacly what information can they gain from being paired via bluetooth to a mobile device?
Should I be concerned about this? I have Mac firewall enabled in stealth mode. Have Sophos installed and up to date and running. All sharing is turned off. What else can I do and how can I remove this device from the list so I can use bluetooth in the near future without any worries?
    Thanks for any help!

Bluetooth is very limited, in range (20 to 40ft on a good day)....
The Bluetooth on my wife's iPad, before I turned it off, put out a signal much further than that. Out of curiosity, I took it down to the lobby of our building, easily a hundred feet or more--just guessing--through one floor and a number of walls. It was still getting a healthy signal there. Maybe the Mac's Bluetooth isn't so powerful. Probably depends on the device being used. I know if I move my mouse not far away from the Mac the connection is quickly lost.
That is an extraordinary connection distance for BlueTooth, did you happen to investigate the data rate at that range?
This really only applies to older Blutooth devices (so should exclude an iPad)
Many USB Bluetooth adapters or "dongles" are available, some of which also include an IrDA adapter. Older (pre-2003) Bluetooth dongles, however, have limited capabilities, offering only the Bluetooth Enumerator and a less-powerful Bluetooth Radio incarnation.[citation needed] Such devices can link computers with Bluetooth with a distance of 100 meters, but they do not offer as many services as modern adapters do.[clarification needed]
The spec for Bluetooth is a bit vague but here is some general info.

  • Can't "Browse Device" or "Send File" via Bluetooth

    Hi,
I can't activate the "Send File" or "Browse Device" windows with any of my Bluetooth phones (N70 and T650i). I can do iSync using Bluetooth with them. I can send files from these phones to my iBook via Bluetooth. Nokia Media Transfer via Bluetooth works also. I've enabled Bluetooth Sharing (and File Sharing) in Sharing preferences.
The Bluetooth setting in the phones is such that all connections are always allowed
What's weird is when I installed Salling Clicker and when it needed to send the client program to the phone the "Send File" window appeared. This means that "Send File" is "working" (at least during Salling Clicker installation).
    Any tips?
    Thanks

It seems the Bluetooth File Exchange app can't launch from my Bluetooth menu icon. Manually launching from the Finder finally worked

  • Would't be able to connect nokia mobile with ipad2 via bluetooth

    Dear Freinds,
I just bought an Ipad2 32 GB but unfortunately wouldn't be able to operate it properly.
Problem 1 - Trying to tranfer some data from my Nokia C7 to Ipad2 via bluetooth but every time it shows error "UNABLE TO CONNECT"
Problem 2 - When i tried to download free apps from apple store through my Ipad it always ask me for my credit card detail.
Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

1, bluetooth on the iPad is aimed at devices such as keyboards and headphones and isn't for transferring files. The bluetooth profiles that are supported by the iPad (and iOS devices in general) are listed on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
2, there are instructions on this page for setting up an iTunes account without giving a credit card : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 . If you want to use an iTunes account that you've already created then you won't be charged for free apps even if you enter a credit card - you may get a temporary holding charge (to validate that the card is current and active) but that should be refunded within a few days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702

  • Playbook not accepting FILES from my nokia c7 via bluetooth

    I got the playbook recently.
I have nokia C7 phone having JPG files and mp3 files. I wanted to transfer files from nokia phone to playbook.
I have done the following -
    1. Bluetooth of the both the devices are ON and they are paired successfully.
    2. FILE sharing option on playbook is also ON
    3. however, when i send any file via bluetooth to playbook, my C7 says unable to connect.
I dont understand this. All the pairing and file sharing options are set correctly.
    Please provide a solution ASAP.
I can also do the internet teethering from my c7 successfully, then why it doesnt transfer files via simple bluetooth. What am i missing?

At the present time there is no bluetooth file sharing on the playbook. Use a pc or Mac to put the files on an then transfer them to the playbook. At least you will have a backup of the files.
