Nokia 3230 problems

hi! my name is alex and i have a problem with my nokia 3230.
I would be grateful if anyone would help me with this matter.
So, my problem is a technical one: "a buzz-ing SOUND has appeared when the display is iluminated" This sound has amplified in VOLUME since it appeared.
My best guess, from what i can hear,THIS SOUND IS LOCATED UNDER THE KEYPAD.
PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY PHONE.
P.S.: i would be also gratefull if you could mention how much it would COST to FIX it.

That is a serious hardware malfunction. Take it to a Nokia Service Center and have it replaced.

Hi i ve a problem with nokia 3230 multimedia messa...

i am using nokia 3230 phone & having a problem with my phone's mms whenever i open messages and then click on mms nothing opens. i dont know why the phone behaving so, i downloaded mms settings from my networks website but it still not working please help me.

Sounds like a software problem do a hard reset . Turn your phone off now befor u turn your phone back on press and hold the star key ,,,the number 3 key and the green call key ... Now keep all of them held down while u turn the phone on keep them down untill your phone has totaly booted up . Now put all settings in your phone again as a hard reset wipes all data off ur phone .... Now it should qork ..... Good luck

i have proble with my mobile nokia 3230
i try 2 start it but it didn`t start
and when it starts and this is rarly it works few minutes and then make something of
1- switch off and didn`t start again
2- restart itself and then wait minutes then switch off
i thought it is avirus i installed antivirus but it didn`t work or also opened
note: in the minuted of working with my mobile it works perfectly and all programs works except anti.
i need a solution pls

I suffered from a similar problem. My nokia will continually shutdown. recently up to 9 times a day.
I searched the net and found this to be a common wide spread problem with the 3230. Apparently some have had some luck by getting the latest version of firmware installed.
I am having some luck at the moment with a reprieve from the problem. All i did was clean the battery contacts and kept the charge full. I think it is more coincidence than a fix. I will be getting the phone flashed with newer version of firmware very soon.
stay calm. many have ditched this model because of this fault.

Hi friends,
I have problem with my nokia 3230 - the display is not working (black screen). But when i turn on the phone the keypad light is working. When someone calls its ringing but the screen is still blank (black screen).

Please solve nokia 3230's greatest problem...

Nokia 3230 have internal memory about 6 MB. Generally it has free memory about 4.5 MB. So it cannot receive music, other files or videos having size greater than free memory (about 4 to 4.5 MB).
Is there any setting or any software to my device for accepting files having greter size from BLUETHOOTH?

How to recover contacts from nokia 3230 memory?

I have Nokia 3230 mobile, it is now having problem in getting powered on. I contacted the nearby Nokia care center, they told they can reset the phone, but all sms and contacts will be erased. But I need to recover all my contacts from the phone.
I bought a memory card reader & using which I have managed to read the memory card of the phone, but it only recovers images and videos. This does not shows the sms and contacts.
Where are my contacts and sms stored(they are not in SIM memory as I tried inserting SIM in different mobile phone)?
How can I recover my contact list and sms messages from the phone memory?

Don't think thats possible, unless the phone switches ON.
A lesson learnt is..Always back-up your data at regular intervals especially after you make changes...
BTW, does the phone need a Reset ? If its just some electronic problem they can rectify it without loss of any data. Only if its some Software related issue then they need to Reset the device... and hope you have confirmed that its not the Battery that is the cause of the dead phone..

Nokia 3230 firmware upgrade

Can any one tell me if a firmware update is available to my phone Nokia 3230 S60 2nd edition?? If so from wher and how can i install it. Or can i reinstall my firmware as i have a small problem with it.

The 3230 does not currently appear on the list of phones supported by the NSU (Nokia Software Updater).

Invalid Version error in Nokia 3230

Hai,
I am new to this J2ME Technology. The new J2ME application works fine when I installed in Nokia 6630 & Nokia 6021. But when I tried to install in Nokia 3230 the mobile gives an error "Invalid Version".
Kindly help me in solve this problem.

Most likely, you have compiled it for cldc 1.1 - the 3230, unfortunately, only supports cldc 1.0.

Nokia 3230 - Last name is appearing first in Inbox

Hello, Everyone!
I've Nokia 3230, the problem is that in Phonebook I've set "First Name First" but last name is appearing first in inbox while in sent messages first name is appearing first.
How can I fix that?

The phonebook setting only affects the way the names are listed in the phonebook and does not change the way names are listed elsewhere.
This the way it is meant to me and cannot be fixed.

Nokia 3230 screen goes blue

I have nokia 3230, when i use gprs, make calls or recieve calls my phone screen went faded and then blue. I restart the phone and screen was normal but after using services it went blue again.
I went to a local repairing centre they said it is a software problem. I reinstalled phone software but it did not help. Software i installed was

Hi Badaun,
Try these things:
1- Resetting the phone using "restore factory settings" under the Setting Menu? or typing *#7780# on standby - 12345 is the default code.
2- Doing a hard reset just press simultaneously these 3 buttons: power button + * + 3 or a combination of power button + #3 + green/call button.
*Don't forget to backup your contacts, files, and settings.
Otherwise, if anything above fails, it might be linked to a hardware problem.

Hi I just figured out a solution that helped me resolve the issue
You can soft reset your device with the code *#7780# + security code (12345 if you didn't change it) so your device will be back to factory setttings. Your personal data will not be erased.
You can hard reset your device with the code *#7370# + security code (12345 if you didn't change it) so your device will be as the first day - all data are deleted because the phone is formatted!
If your phone is seriously crashed and won't boot, you can perform the same hard reset this way:
Make sure your battery is fully charged.
Backup your personal data to your computer or an MMC storage card.
Switch-off your Nokia 3230.
Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad and then press the power on/off to switch on the Nokia 3230.
Remember, do not let go the 3 press and hold keys until you see the formatting screen.
After a few minutes when the process is over, your Nokia 3230 will be back to the original delivered system.

Nokia 3230 users wake up

All Nokia 3230 users ask Nokia to provide Firmware Updtaes like othe S60 phones.

I got the exact same problem.
Screen intermittently won't turn on after sleep but the tablet itself seems to be awake because the Windows button vibrates when pressed and Bluetooth devices can connect. All one can do in this case is to force the PC to turn off (hold power button for 10 seconds) and turn it back on. Extremely annoying and a reason to return the device if problem is not resolved. Otherwise very stable and a great device.
All available Windows, app and driver updates installed. Even did a refresh and complete Windows reinstall, but that did not solve the problem.
From my observations, the problem seems to have something to do with the duration of sleep (always comes back on after short sleeps) and/or leaving the current wireless network whilst in sleep, and/or Bluetooth.
Administrative events in the event logs only show the forced shutdown as a critical error. However, the Windows system event log shows Kernel-PnP 219 warnings related to being unable to load driver WUDFRD for ACPI and BTHLED devices.
Bought mine on launch day from ATT.

WHITE SCREEN IN NOKIA 3230

This morning i saw a white screen on my nokia 3230 phone.It was normal to me as the phone hangs sometimes but whenever i switch it off and then started my nokia 3230 every thing went fine, But this time even on restarting white screen came again.I switched off and started my phone a number of times but the same white screen came again .I dont know how it happened as one hour before the white screen incident i checked my messages on the same phone and then the phone was fine.I dont know what has happened.Ya but the phone is working fine.I could receive calls.BUT the white screen is present..!!!
What is the problem with my phone???

Funny thing I must say, it worked when I initiated the remove-battery-insert-battery-restart sequence immediately after posting this message But I am sure it is only the matter of it being switched off again, so I want to go for the firmware update. I am sure it has never been updated since it last left the Nokia factory, so if someone can tell me how this can be done, it'll be great. I am sure it is on the end of its life but i want to give it one last shot for old time sake!

Nokia 820 problems

Just bought two Nokia 820s, one for my wife and one for myself. Awesome phones except for a couple of issues. First, the GPS and Nokia Here Maps. When I am at home the maps show me in the right spot but reports (showing the address) that I am 3 houses down the street. When I am at work, the phone shows my position correctly but reports that I am in the Elementary School across the street. Hmmmm. gMaps does not have this problem and seems to have more detailed maps about my city and roadways. So it is a Nokia software problem? I like the Here functionality better, but the accuracy and detail are missing compared to other map services so I have to keep more than one app on my phone, using precious space. Second, I would really like to be able to sync my phone calendar with my google calendar and tasks. Right now I have to use third party apps so I have more than one calendar app (I prefer to use the one on my phone with live tiles!!!!) and more than one task app, etc... and more than one travel app. Also it would be nice to separate the people I want in my phone book from the people I have on social accounts (I will NEVER be calling most of the people on my facebook account, but there are people I call on a regular basis and I hate scrolling through or having to search a gajillion people to find who or what business I am looking for) and still have them listed, just seperately.
Thanks for listening and I sincerely hope these issues can be addressed.

Were you running gMaps on the same phone? If so then that would suggest the innacuracy in probably in the mapping data. This being the case, you should report the error to the map data provider using the link below.
