Nokia 3250: Application/Themes installation proble...

Hi...i recently purchase a Nokia 3250 but I'm facing a problem:any themes/application installed in memory card doesn't work and theme resets after switch-on the handset but if that application is installed in phone memory, it works after switch-on the handset.
I install all the software properly provided by nokia like snake game,themes....by using PC Suite.
I face the problems when i follow the following steps:
Problem 1:
1-I install any software (e.g:snake game) through Application manager (Pc Suit) in memory card.
2-I launch that software (snake game) just after installation it works properly.
3-Now i switch-off the hand set and than switch-on it.
4-I try to launch that software (snake game) again but it doesn't response.
Problem 2:
1:There is a image in my Memory card.
2: I set that image as a wallpaper.
3-Now i switch-off the hand set and than switch-on it.
4-Wallpaper reset to default one.
Problem 3:
1-I install a theme through Application manager (Pc Suit) in memory card.
2: I apply that theme in my hand set.
3-Now i switch-off the hand set and than switch-on it.
4- Now theme reset to default one.
i want to know is it my handset problem or OS problem....?
plss help....

The 6102 is an S40 (Series 40) 2nd edition phone, and rather old, already as S40 is already at 5th edition (plus various intermediate "feature packs").
I think the 6102 supports themes, then they come in .nth files (not .sis or .sisx, which are for S60/Series 60 phone models) and only when they're created with Nokia Series 40 Theme Studio v1.*. Newer themes created with v2.* of the tool, requires newer phones.

Hi, I have a Nokia 3250 and purchased a DVD from E-Bay with a load of themes on it which specifies it is for Nokia 3250 Series 60 Version 3 phone, but when trying to transfer the Theme to my phone either via Bluetooth or USB or PC Csuite my phone keeps saying .SIS File Type not recognised?
Can anyone assist me in trying to get these themes on to my phone, any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dale

Applications not installing on Nokia 3250

Hi can anyone help me I have been trying to install new games and themes on my 3250 but for some silly reason the phone flatly refuses to install them. I have just head the phone in for repairs and the software has been updated to the current version so I can't for the life of me figure out what is going wrong. All the games and themes are supposed to be compatible with the phone. Thanks

i hope you know that nokia 3250 is symbuan 60 3rd edition phone.
so the ".sis" files meant for 2nd for 1st edition won't work here.
List of Nokia phones I've used: 3310, 3315, 3200, 6600,3250, N73 ME, N95 8GB, 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia X6 16 GB (currently using this).

From where did you create theme?

Sometimes this message also comes up if some older or similar versions of the software/theme were previously installed and removed. I suspect there are remnants of the previous files which prevent an otherwise normal installation to proceed.
I encountered the same with my wife's 3250 and the only way to get things smooth again is to re-format/hard-reset the phone and format memory card. Luckily, I do this everytime I upgrade the firmware of the 3250. =)

Nokia 3250 software update problems

i have a nokia 3250. i wanted to update my phone and i downloaded the updater from the website. but when i install it to my pc it says vbscript missing and it says fatal installtion error. what can i do.
and is it good to upgrade my phone, i mean will i have any notable changes.
the main reason that i want to install it is to be able to install applications which don't work now. for example kaspersky, symantec anti-viruses.

Well, after being advised by Vodafone Customer Service to take it to a Vodafone shop to get it fixed else they will have to take it away for repairs, so I did.
Vodafone staff says, we don't fix, but we can send it away for u.....
So, back to square one.
1. My phone has lost the bottom 2 touch icons due to a phone update
2. So, I tried using Nokia Software Update on my PC, configutation error - Darn!
3. So I use Nokia Ovi Suite - Cannot update - doubledarn!!
Anyone has a [v40.0.003] file for Nokia 5230 that I can download direct onto my PC then copy to my phone for installation?

I am having Nokia 3250. The font size in the mobile looks very small. I would like to know if there is any way we can increase the font size for viewing either by changing its setting or by putting any software in it.

E61: Cannot install nokia maps application

I used to have Nokia Maps application installed in my E61 SD card, together with the maps. Then I had to re-format the card, loosing all information.
Once I try again to install Nokia Maps application in my handset, there is an "update error", and the application is not install. My guess: there is somewhere a registry that lists nokia maps application as already installed, and will not allow to re-install again.

Nokia have recently released a new version of Nokia Maps as well as MapLoader.
I would recommend that you download these (you can find them at http://www.nokia.com/maps) and try again.
First download the MapLoader program and try to delete any kind of previously stored map information on your phone, then download the appropriate Map program for your phone, and finally re-load MapLoader to load the relevant maps for your country on the E61.

NEED HELP FOR NOKIA-3250

I have a nokia-3250 and installed PC SUITE version 6.83.14.1 and my os is windows xp servive pack2. the PC SUITE works for all other application except for MUSIC MANAGER.Basicaly it does not react at all nor it shows any error message.

Music Manager creates some registry entries to registry path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nokia\Music Manager. Delete that Music Manager key, reboot your computer and try again.

A blocked fone {IMEI locked} is a result of the owner reporting the handset lost or stolen to the network.
Or its part of a fraud investigation.
ie: contract taken out , get free fone on bogus details thus the network block it.
If you purchased off an auction site then lodge a dispute straightaway.
Even tho you have paid good money from the handset unfortunatley the handset is the property of the network , thus they will not unblock it for you.
You could report this to the police if you believe the above is actually the case.
If the fone is asking for a security code when you place your sim card into it then try 12345 as this is the universal code if not changed by the original owner.
Remember if the fone is locked to the network then u may only be able to use a sim on that particular network.
If you want it open to other networks you will have to become a customer of that network {buy a prepay sim}, and ring them to get the unlock code, and you will have to pay an unlock admin fee.If you search this site you will find many postings on this subject.

Has anyone tried to synchronize a device running on symbian 9.1 with isync ? I'd like to be sure it works before buying a new Nokia ...

I have a 3250 too and can't even begin to sync this thing.
I got my 3250 6 weeks ago and after following posts on nokia.com/support and here, I can confirm that I have been able to iSync with the handset and my Powerbook. WooHoo.
I would have to second the notion that the 3250 is not compatbile with iSync, can't see how this is marked as solved?
Here is how I did it:
i) Make sure you have the most recent version of iSync on your MB.
ii) Find the iSync application on your hard disk, right click and "show package contents"
iii) Open the folders: Contents>Plugins>ApplePhoneConduit>Contents>Plugins>PhoneModelSync>Contents>Res ources
iv) Open the file "MetaClasses.plist" using TextEditor. Save a copy elsewhere.
v) Find the N90 data and replace the text "N90" with 3250 as below:

Nokia 3250 Display - white letters on silver backg...

I find it very difficult to write texts on my Nokia 3250. When not in use the keypad numbers and letters are a nice clear black on a silver background. However, as soon as I press a number the keypad numbers and letters light up white, and it is very difficult to see them - whoever thought white lit numbers against a silver background was a good idea! Is there any way to change the background or stop the keypad lighting up?

no i dont think so.one way is that the surrounding should be well lit then the keypad lights wont turn on.light sensor knows that but if the surrounding is less bright the keypad light **bleep** up thinking that the user needs light so it can use comfortably.

Nokia Launch Application has stopped working...

Hi,
I've just carried out a fresh install of Vista 32-bit and installed Nokia PC Suite (version 6.85.12.0) and I now get the following error after a few seconds, even if I'm not trying to run any of the apps:
Nokia Launch Application has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The version I had before the re-installation worked perfectly.
Is it possible to find that version again?

I would try to manually (through control panel I mean, no registry hacking) uninstall 6.84, connectivity solution and USB driver, then boot PC and then install 6.85 on a clear computer, if this problem, repair 6.85 through control panel and then decide whether to go back to 6.84
