Nokia 3650 problem

I have a Nokia 3650. The problem I now have is when the phone is turned on I get a note saying 'app close' then in about 5 to 10 seconds restricts most anything I can do with the phone except make calls. I cannot get into the settings to explore the problem.

I have a Nokia 3650, But I am not faced with this problem.
What happens to mine is that when I turn it on, The screen goes white and then the Nokia logo appears.
This is normal right? Well this isn't.
After the Nokia logo appears it disappears and the screen is still white. Then the Nokia logo appears again. Then disappears and after a minute or so the phone goes off altogether.
Whats wrong with it?

PC Suite can't open MS Outlook (Nokia 3650)

Dear Madam/Sir,
I have a Nokia 3650, I used PC Suit without any problem before. I removed Norton antivirus, and since PC Suit can't open MS Outlook for synchronisation (at this stage no other antivirus was installed). Since I installed NOD 32, Windows Defender and the regular Windows Firewall is also working. I reinstalled the latest version of PC Suit from the internet for this mobile. All other function of PC Suit is working properly. I also tried to reinstall PC SUIT with disabled NOD 32 and Windows Defender. At the moment nothing helped for me. Do you have any idea to solve this problem?

Hi there, why do you whant PC suite to open Outlook? My PC suite is taking defined data automatically. Check again.
At the same time you are right. When I am asking PC suite to open folders, application is buzzing. I sent a request to Nokia care. So let's see, may be new PC suit version will solve it.

Nokia 3650 disconnects after dialing ISP

Using the Nokia IR 6210_8xxx script, I am able to successfully establish a Bluetooth connection with my Nokia 3650, but after dialing it simply disconnects.
I can manually dial the ISP from the 3650 and listen to the handshake.
Prior to installing Tiger, I was able to do a dial-up connection using the Nokia 3650 as a modem.

Thanks Alexander and Stephen oh that I had found Stephen's link before I got my phone to work, it might have saved me hours of fun, but as I was sitting on a remote Scottish Island, it was only after I got it to work that I could read it.
The Nokia now works perfectly on the UK's O2 service (albeit at a pitiful 9,200) and I even took half a dozen photographs with the phone, transferred them to my iBook, then sent them via the telephone attached to an e-mail.
I never discovered what the problem was other than painstakingly repeating the pairing and bluetooth dial-up settings until both the phone and the computer believed me.
The only small sensitivity I have discovered is that it is completely reliable if I put the bluetooth dongle in the USB socket with the machine switched off, then fire it up.
I know that it is slow using the phone as a modem on the GSM network, but even paying for the extra time involved, it is nowhere near as expensive as being charged at the data rates on GPRS.

Headset appearing when unplugged in Nokia 3650

Dear,
I am having Nokia 3650 since 3-4 years.I didn't had any problem since then.Two days ago I had bought headphones for my Nokia 3650.It worked that day and it is working now too.But the problem is when I unplug the headphone,it doesn't get unplugged from my phone and displays as it is connected.
I had switched off and switched on my phone but of no use.
One more problem had occurred if the headphone logo goes off while switching on after few minutes later or if I receive any call it shows headphone logo again.
One more problem is the real player stopped playing music or I am unable to listen the music.
Please help me.Its a bit urgent.

If the 3650 is a pop-port phone then what you're describing is absolutely characteristic of moisture in the connector.
I suggest you take the phone to your nearest Nokia Care Point so they cantake a look at it.

Nokia 820 problems

Just bought two Nokia 820s, one for my wife and one for myself. Awesome phones except for a couple of issues. First, the GPS and Nokia Here Maps. When I am at home the maps show me in the right spot but reports (showing the address) that I am 3 houses down the street. When I am at work, the phone shows my position correctly but reports that I am in the Elementary School across the street. Hmmmm. gMaps does not have this problem and seems to have more detailed maps about my city and roadways. So it is a Nokia software problem? I like the Here functionality better, but the accuracy and detail are missing compared to other map services so I have to keep more than one app on my phone, using precious space. Second, I would really like to be able to sync my phone calendar with my google calendar and tasks. Right now I have to use third party apps so I have more than one calendar app (I prefer to use the one on my phone with live tiles!!!!) and more than one task app, etc... and more than one travel app. Also it would be nice to separate the people I want in my phone book from the people I have on social accounts (I will NEVER be calling most of the people on my facebook account, but there are people I call on a regular basis and I hate scrolling through or having to search a gajillion people to find who or what business I am looking for) and still have them listed, just seperately.

Were you running gMaps on the same phone? If so then that would suggest the innacuracy in probably in the mapping data. This being the case, you should report the error to the map data provider using the link below.

Unfortunately there is no way you will be able to get the information from your phone saved. In order to have that done the phone must be in working order.
The phone might however still be repairable and if Nokia cannot fix it for you then perhaps you can try a general cellular repair shop. If the problem is hardware related they might be able to fix it with out you losing your data stored on the phone. If they have to reload the firmware then you will loose everything on the phone unfortunately.
Knowledge should be your Advisor when you need help.

The 3650 currently is NOT supported via the Nokia Software Updater - this means you will have to approach your local Nokia Service Centre to get it updated - they will also have further information regarding whether or not there is a new version of firmware available.

Hangman for Nokia 3650

Hi all experts,
I'm wanting to create a simple hangman game for the Nokia 3650 for a Thesis due in September.
Can you tell me what emulator and/or development kit I need to download from Nokia or Java in order to get started.
My first task is to write HelloWorld! on a Nokia Emulator for the 3650!!!
I'm fairly new to Java programming so I want to keep it as simple as possible for now and then hopefully build up to maybe some sounds and a bit of animation.
I want look into the possibility of using bluetooth for a 2-player game eventually too.
Any help/advice/warnings/sympathy/luck would be all gratefully received!!

Nokia 5130 problems...please help!

hiya i recently updated my Nokia 5130 over-the-air and had no problems so far. then i have downloaded the latest internet settings fro my phone via my network operator. no problem there. but whenever i surf the net or use 3rd-party chat service the internet shuts down and just stops working? why is this? is there a way to use my internet (to surf or chat) seamlessly? (n.b. i have an unlimited internet option on my network account).

Nokia 6210 Problems with using Edge (Internet Conn...

I have a Nokia 6210 phone bought from an authorized Nokia Care Center in Delhi, India two weeks ago. The software version on the phone is 3.08 dated 11-June 2008. It also mentions custom version as 03.08.c00.01
I am an Airtel Prepaid customer in New Delhi, India and had been using Mobile Office service on my prepaid number for some time. It worked perfectly fine for my Nokia 6233. On my current Nokia 6210 the Internet connection works fine for the first time through the built in browser or though any other application (like Google Maps, Gmail etc) which required internet and displays the sign signifying that the edge connection is active.
The problem is that once I close the application the standby sign for Edge network is displayed as follows and no matter what I am unable to use the internet connection on the phone again until I do the following
Restart the phone (which definitely isn’t a good option)
Wait for around 8-10 minutes after which the Edge on hold sign disappears and is replaced by which means that the edge is available
I found this out accidentally, but if I press the keys *123# which I typically use for enquiring balance, the on hold sign goes away and is replaced by the Edge available sign. after which things work fine.
Not sure where the problem is. I really doubt it’s got to do something with Airtel as the same number worked perfectly fine with my previous Nokia phone in the same area. In addition my wife’s phone (again an Airtel prepaid number) is working great in the same area. So either this has got to do something with the handset or the compatibility of the handset with the Airtel, New Delhi.
I have tried various sets of setting from the following sources
The wizard in built in the handset
Getting the settings from the Nokia site
Getttng the settings from Airtel Customer Care
But with all of them I am facing the same set of problems.
Wanted to check if anybody out you have ever faced a similar problem with this phone or one in a simlar series?

I suggest that you don't make permanent coupling between devices. Looks like Nokia modem is more responsive when you need to manually accept every connection at the phone's end.

Nokia sync problems. E7.

I received the notification concerning the joining of Ovi sync with Nokia mail contacts so I signed up & tried synching my phone contacts with my Nokia email account, the problem is whenever I sync the contacts using the phone they don't update, all that happens is that the contacts are redownloaded on the phone & the original contacts on the phone are deleted (as they end up in the deleted contacts folder online) It seems you cannot change details nor add photos to contacts with the new Nokia sync/Nokia contacts as they are just returned to the original state when synched or, in the case of updated contacts, I get two entries, the original & the updated version or the entry is returned to the original version & isn't updated. I've had to forgo the ovi/nokia sync on the phone & use Nokia suite to backup my contacts. I prefered the old sync which worked fine.

No I still have major problems syncing, the first sync is fine but further syncs just mess everything up; I lose any photo I've assigned to a contact I also find any changes I've made to a contact are not being updated on Nokia sync as I get the original back on the phone which makes it useless. It also doesn't handle symbols like '&' very well & I have to write 'and' instead otherwise anything before the & is missing.
I do have a theory though, as Nokia sync is now connected to Yahoo's address book (as Nokia mail is provided by Yahoo now) I suspect that that platform isn't designed to work the way Ovi sync did but to just be used to download the contact list to the phone & to make changes you have to visit Nokia mail, Yahoo's help refers to this being the case with a different phone manufacturer so I can easily see this being the problem with my E7 & other phones. I've contacted support again to try & get any update on this & even offered to show screenshots of the problem but had no reply. I have heard (I'm sure on this forum) that Nokia have dropped Nokia sync though.
