NOKIA 3710 FREEZING

Hi I noticed My New NOkia 3710 Freezes somtimes during a text message?........ is there software update to fix this buggy thanks.....

Has a support update been released for this Freezing issue please? i have already returned one device back to the seller - and I bought this from oversees. I will be returning the 2nd one again if there is no fix, because this is hanging at least once a day.

Nokia C7 freeze problem

Hello. I use Nokia C7. All works fine but often when I surf the web browser, use skype, search updates and doing many other things my Nokia C7 freeze and dont (cant) resart. Only option to restart the phone is remove and insert battery. How to FIX this problem?

This problem has nothing to do with applications added or needing software updates. It is purely a hardware problem, there seems to be a fundamental flaw with the design of Nokia phones, and it is very disappointing that they are not more honest about the problem.
My Nokia C7 seems to freeze frequently when processing CPU intensive processes especially, such as trying to watch videos on the BBC iplayer or Youtube, but can happen anytime. The pattern seems to be with these phones (and the N8) that these freezes happen quicker and quicker as time goes on. It is just not good enough to say take the battery out, which is the ONLY way to reboot the phone, do other phone users of different manufacturers have to do this? Not in my experience.
I find it incredible that Nokia, with its dwindling share market, can release these phones without having fully tested them properly. You may have gathered that I feel rather disgruntled with Nokia, I have always had Nokia phones but I am now regretting my decision to start a new contract with this phone. I like it and the features, but what point is there in giving you applications such as the Navigation and the iplayer for example if you can't use them because of freezing.
I will be sending my C7 off for repair next week, in the hope that they have sorted out their hardware issue, but I say beware to anyone else with this phone. If you have had occasional freezing problems, then they will in all likelihood increase as the internal hardware degrades.

Nokia 3710 No international network access

I have a Nokia 3710 that has Quad Band, GSM, UMTS.
I am travelling at the moment in Eastern Europe and my network coverage is not working. What are the settings I have to modify for my phone to pick up a coverage. I have tried manually searching and found networks but every time I select one it gives me the message no network coverage.
It is weird as I had the 6131 phone while travelling in the US and Canada and that phone had no problem picking up a network in those countries. I still have the same operator as I did while travelling in the US so I doubt is an operator probelm. My operator is Orange.

Connecting to other networks is controlled by the SIM, not the phone. Note that the phone can 'see' the other networks. So I suspect it was an issue with Orange, e.g. no partners in those countries, SIM not authorized for roaming in those countries, etc.

Nokia 3710 fold: List of "last Used contacts" does...

I have a Nokia 3710.
When I send an SMS I want to pick a contact from the "last used contacts" (Senast använda in swedish).
This list is not updated since some time.
I have search through most menues and can not find a setting to change it (if there is one?).
Any suggestions what to do?

Yes, I'm having the same issue and cannot find a resolution anywhere. In fact with mine, it's not so much that it's not updating, but moreso that it says that No Numbers or Email Addresses Found" - so I've got none showing at all.
Don't want to do a Restore Factory Configuration in case I lose all of my information since buying the phone (only about 3 weeks old by the way)..... Hope there is an answer soon as it's most annoying.

Nokia 3710 fold won't access Telstra messagebank v...

Nokia 3710 fold won't recognise Telstra 101 Voicemail - thinks it's an invalid number and thus attempts an emergency call - however #101# works by having voicemail call you back - not sure if this costs extra though. Telstra know nothing of this problem. Never happened with any other phones I have owned. Any help - same experience??

Hi. Nokia. I Buy Nokia 3710 Last week. There is few Bugs in This phone Like
1.) Waiting Call tone Not available.
2.) Draft Message not Saved.
3.) battery Life is too Short.
4.) When I set ringtone on level 5 but Not play on level 5 its start from 1 to 5 level.
5.) In Video Mode Flash Is not on. ETC.
Plz Fix all above bugs n create a software update for this phone. Thanks

Out of date Brazil map on Nokia 3710

Hello,
I live in Brasil and I bought a Nokia 3710, which has an internal GPS receiver and came with Nokia Maps 2 pre-installed. I have already checked for both software and maps update on Ovi Suite. There was no software update, but Ovi Suite did update Brazil map.
Nevertheless, even though Ovi Suite has updated the map, it is still pretty out of date! I have also a Nokia 5800 with Ovi Maps 3.04 installed and it has a more recent version of the map of Brazil. The Brazil map in my 5800 is bigger and have recent streets modifications on my town, which the map installed on the 3710 doesn't have.
Does anyone know of an explanation to this? Shouldn't the map data be the same, despite of different software version? I feel a little deceived here, because I bought Nokia 3710 in order to use as a GPS device, and of course I expected to have the more recent version of the maps.
I can't think of an explanation to this, since Nokia currently owns Navteq, which is the map

As each new map series comes out with more detail or layers included it is increasingly needing more powerful devices to implement them. If you look at the restricted devices that can currently utilise OVI Maps v3.06 Beta from Nokia Beta Labs you will get a better idea.
Presumably your 5800 is using OVI Maps v3.04 with 00.01.25.114 maps for Brazil, although if you updated to aforementioned Beta version of OVI Maps using maps 00.02.41.123 you would find in some specific regions mapping is currently worse than previous version.

Nokia 6303i, Nokia 3710 Fold or Nokia 2710 Fold

Hello,
I want to buy a new moble and have narrowed my choice down to three.
1. Nokia 6303i
2. Nokia 3710 Fold
3. Nokia 2710 Fold
I'm a very light user of mobles and like the design of all three phones, but would prefer a flip up phone. I need the phone to be Pay As You Go and on the Orange network.
My budget is approx the £100 mark, but I would spend a little extra for the 3710 (if it's PAYG and on the Orange network.).
Can anyone give me any opinions on the three phones and which one would be best for my needs?

Nokia E7 freezing and needing to be re-booted dail...

Hi.My E7 keeps freezing and needs re booting.It's been re flashed at the Nokia Care Point and has been back to Nokia themselves.I have installed every update available including Anna.Still the problem persists.
The problem occurs mostly after the phone has been on standby overnight.Upon waking the screen and performing a few tasks it freezes.Also when trying to open the camera function it often jams.Furthermore it seems to be at it's worst when slightly cooler than normal (perhaps why it's worst on a morning,having been left out of my pocket overnight.
Anybody got any ideas? It's all very well saying 'return it to the N.C.P' but how many times do i need to go? I have been twice already and it's an 80 mile round trip!!!

I agree that you should push the point if the visits to Nokia care haven't resoved your issues. But , even though it shouldn't be necessary after a re-flash, it may be worth doing a reset before you try anything else, it could resolve the issues, and if not , you've lost nothing, If it doesn't work, you need to approach Nokia for a replacement ?
If you try the reset, backup calendar, contacts and notes ONLY, as a full backup and restore would restore anything causing your issue ! Dial *#7370# followed by 12345 if required, and then set up the phone manually. May also be worth re-installing Anna ?

Older verzion of Nokia Maps freezing + some more p...

Hi,
Im planing to buy Nokia N8, but until the Xmass I need still to use my N79, which is great, but all the times I have some problems with Maps. Its old verzion (No2, I think 2.01 or something like that). I had to still pay few Euros to activate them.
Now for some time I have been using them , all worked great.
In last days they started to freeze. But only the navigation, lokator of the position seemed ok, so I searched for the addres, navigation started and upss.....freeze.
Sometimes when I restarted phone, but I think only included batery taken off, it started to work. But imidiatelly when I stoped navigation and started new one, again freeze.
So I started to try to change settings, one of them>> usage of the phone memory, I put it from 70% to 90% and now I cant even to switch Maps on. It openes the Maps, but directly goes back to stand by display position (Maps switches off), so I even cant to set it back , if I try to open maps one more time, it freezes whole phone, so I have to restart it.
What should I do??

You don't happen to have a spare memory card around as it sounds as if mapping data corrupted? For older versions of Nokia Maps they are stored in E:/Private/20001f63/diskcache.
Might suggest temporary removal to safe place, run Nokia Maps again to re-define necessary folder structure and re-download regional maps.

Give Up!!!!! The Nokia 5300 freezes just thinking ...

I have always loved my nokia phones and there was a time when I would not buy another brand, but the freeze problem has changed my opinion forever...
Right out of the box, and ever since then, starting up the music player, freezes the phone for a good 3 minutes, then selecting an album to play freezes the phone for 5 more minutes, and if I am lucky, it might play, but more than likely, the phone will restart, update the music library, and start the whole process over... all while at the same time, prohibit me from making or receiving calls, or anything else of the like... Once, I spent half an hour trying to play music, while
is it just me, or do i have a bad phone???
An additional note, we are talking about the original sw on the handset, and all of the music on my memory card works fine on my 9.95 motorola w490, which I hate, but is clearly more reliable...
This phone and the run around i have had over the past several months have turned me from Nokia, unless someone out there can clearly solve this problem simply... Loved looking and dreaming about it, truly hated owning it... :'(

If you are lazy like myself and let 2383 messages build up in your phone you may experience:
-phone on then freezing (i think when messages file is trying to load)
-phone white screening and then turning on again
Fortunately for me the phone still operates for a couple of minutes before freezing. At first only for a few seconds.
If you're patient you try and quickly get into the messages folder.
There select "delete messages" (if you don't get this far try again)
You will have to wait for the messages to laod so of course you may freeze (this happened to me at least 5 times - KEEP TRYING!)
Then the first time it started deleting messages it froze after 11.
It wouldn't work at all 4 or 5 times
then finally it started deleting all of them.
YAY!

Nokia 6303i freezes after startup

I have a Nokia 6303i.
I was deleting my messages (more than 800) , and somewhere on the middle of the proccess it froze.
I removed the battery and tried to turn it on again (with and without SIM), it just shows the home screen, works for 5 seconds (sometimes not) and it freezes.
What do I need to do.
Any way to hard reset or ...

when it turns on this message appears
"Supportive file. Nothing to display."
I tried to reset it using *#7780#, but it freezes while reseting.

Remove the memory card if there is one then remove the battery for a minute or two and try restart again,if this fails i would take it to a nokia care point.

Nokia N82 Nokia Maps Freeze!!

3 days ago i bought my new nokia N82, And when i run Nokia maps application after i close it the mobile freeze!!!
The Store from where i bought it has given to me 3 other N82 mobiles and all of them had the same problem!!! I believe that all Nokia N82 that are for sale in greece had the same problem with mine cause one of my friends bought Nokia N82 from another location in greece and had the same problem
Is there a way to fix it?? or i have to hope that the other phone the store gives me will work?

first did you check for the latest firmware for your phone? there also might be an update for your maps, try that and see if there is any difference if this does not change anything then try :
*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list.
*#7370# - Reformat your phone
This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. Turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.
