Nokia 5000 : use of on-board version of Opera Mini

Hi,
I have configured the WAP parameters of my Nokia 5000 in the "Personal configuration settings" menu, and it works very well with the default WAP browser located in the "Web" menu : no problem to access Google, Gmail, etc.
Nokia 5000 phones also provide "natively" the Opera Mini browser, located in the "Applications/Collection" menu. But when I try to connect to the WAP, I have the message "Failed to connect to the Internet"...
It is the same with the Gmail and Google Maps applications that I have downloaded separately.
I did not forget to select "Activate" for my WAP personal account, so I really wonder how it is possible that only one application has an access to the WAP, and all the others not...

I had the same problem with my new 3720c ................... I spent few days trying to solve it; my service provider(T-Mobile Slovakia) recommended me the same ................. and all my JAVA_based internet applications (OperaMini, Web&Walk, Gmail) work OK

Opera Mini Installation Problem on Nokia N97

I am trying to install Opera Mini on Nokia N97. During installation the application stops and i get a message 'Unable to connect to the internet. Please check your settings', whereas, all my other applications using the internet are working fine. Please advise.

Go to Settings>Application Manager>installed apps>find opera mini>options>suite settings>access point>select your preferred.

And if all these are set to "Allow" then reinstalling Opera mini may fix the problem.
Uninstall, Download it again from m.opera.com (Click on "Other Download options" and then select "Dual Signed Version" under Opera mini 5.1 Options) and try to connect, if it doesn't, reboot phone and try then.

Nokia 208 problems with Opera Mini

I have a Nokia 208 (Single SIM) and I can not install Opera Mini on him. The application is downloaded but not installed. When I want to install the application, it shows me: "Installing ..." and remains locked so. And after some time it says: "Unable to connect to the internet. Please chech your settings". I tried several versions of Opera Mini and same problem. I downloaded from Nokia Store and m.opera.com site, etc., and the same problem. Other applications on the phone I saw that it works. And I can surf the internet, the problem is only with Opera Mini. Internet provider is Vodafone Romania. So how can I solve this problem? Or Nokia 208 (Single SIM) is not compatible with Opera Mini? We have several reports of this issue. In one case, it was solved by creating the configuration settings manually which made sure both the Access Point and the Web account are configured correctly. Your description only tells us, the Web configuration is OK.
To solve this issue finally, I would like to go this path again first:
Nokia » Menu » Settings » Configuration » Personal » New » Access Point » Access Point settings » Bearer settings » Mobile data access point (APN) » internet.vodafone.ro
Nokia » Menu » Settings » Configuration » Activate » Access Point » My access point

Opera mini on nokia c2-00

Please help. I have bought a nokia c2-00 which is dual sim. The default Internet browser works but my provider has failed to make the opera mini work. The opera mini comes loaded under me applications. The opera mini gives the message "failed to connect to the Internet ... Contact service provider for Internet settings" . What do I do? I prefer opera mini.

I am using a Nvidia 4200M adapter in my Laptop, Driver 266.96, Direct X 11
In my desktop I am using an ATI XFX 6950, latest revision drivers (I am not at home right now so I cant get that info).
The issue I did describe above, but it was a long explanation.
In some flash games the game files load initially and get as far as the "click to start" button. Then the flash area usually goes either all white or all black (usually depending on the falsh game default background color) and then it stays that color. Cant see anything after hitting start (usually most games have an intro video or animation before the game starts, but I cant see any of it.
For the very few games that do start, the flash game or application does not seem to work correctly in that when the rare game starts, it wont save any game files or save files to the pc and so if I exit the game (navigate away to another page or close browser) and then later come back, even though I click the option to save games (and ensure that the flash application slider shows it can save files and lots of space) it does not save and I have to start from the beginning all the time.

Problem transfering music to Nokia 5000

Using Nokia PC Suite version 7.0.9.2 under Windows Vista Ultimate, 64-bit, using Bluetooth connection to my Nokia 5000.
I'm trying to transfer music files to the phone using Nokia Music Manager. I'm unable to play any transferred files in my phone - whenever I try, I'm getting "File corrupted" message. The converted files (to AAC format) play fine in Music Manager itself. Also, if I transfer the original MP3 files directly using file transfer, they play fine in the phone.
The same problem also existed with the previous version of Nokia PC Suite (I think that was 7.0.8.2).

3. Copy & Paste all your music tracks into ur Mem Card via Mass Storage Mode.

Nokia 5000 problem

I have a problem with nokia 5000.I want to have that digital clock as screensaver and I know that must make the following settings:
Power saver: off
Sleep mode: off
Screensaver: digital clock
but at my nokia 5000 i don't have power saver to set off
I change screensaver to digital clock and sleep mode to off but my display is black.
what I must do ?

the screen will always go black after a certain amount of time you should see the time goin up and down on screen horizontally its very faint though

I'm from India. I have a Nokia X2-00 (Firmware version 4.90) that I use with an AirTel subscription. I want the phone's inbuilt browser (Opera Mini 4.2) to use the 'Mobile Office' or 'Airtel Internet' access points instead of 'AirTel Live!'.
Here's a list of everything that I've tried doing on the phone to get Opera to work:
[o] Settings -> Configuration -> Default config. sett. -> Airtel
[o] Settings -> Configuration -> Default in all apps.
[o] Settings -> Configuration -> Preferred access pt. -> Mobile Office
And since that didn't work, I created a new access point:
[o] Settings -> Connectivity -> Packet data -> Packet data settings -> Active access point -> Airtel[o] Settings -> Connectivity -> Packet data -> Packet data settings -> Edit active access pt. -> Packet data access pt. -> airtelgprs.com
and...
[o] Settings -> Configuration -> Personal settings -> MY-APN-NAME -> Bearer settings -> Packet data acc. pt -> airtelgprs.com
Still I've had no luck. The inbuilt Opera Mini 4.2 still uses the 'Airtel Live!' access point despite all this.Please suggest some way to get it to use another access point.

Final cut quits when i use a key board short cut

every time i use a key board short cut on my g4 550mhz 20gb hd powerbook whilst using final cut pro 3 or 4 it quits. this makes it unusable. i have recently updated from osx 10.1.3 to the latest version of tiger ("the most powerful operating system in the world"??) could you please tell me why it dose this so i can fix it. as this has left me unable to edit anything. final-cut won't work and i now have no imovie as tiger dose not come with it.

i was trying to undo edit apple-z and capture apple-8
i had panther installed on this very same computor for a short while and everything worked just fine.
but it was not my copy so it had to go. i only changed from 10.1.5 to tiger because it kept crashing on the internet, but in the prosses messed up final cut pro.

Hi, if you follow the user manual instruction and still cannot use the camera, check it out at NSC (Nokia Service Centre)... if you bought new at Nokia authorised dealer....

Nokia N9 Browser And Google Desk Version

Using the Nokia N900 I had no problems connecting with Google and using the non mobile version. Now with the Nokia N9 I am only able to connect with the Mobile URL. With the Nokia N900 I would go to a preset iGoogle page with all the precious metals charts. What can I do to get to the non mobile version?

@jammiev: bro..u cant install java in 6303i.bcoz it is s40. But this problem solved by another browser pls use ucbrowser 7.2 version from getjar.com and easy to browse javascripts.

Nokia 5000 How get a dictaphone record from it?

I got Nokia 5000. When i was celecting a phone i looked for a phone with a dictaphone. But now i cant get a record of my talk from it! Phone tells me "the file is copyright protected" and i can't nor copy to my computer, nor send it to anyone. That dissapoints me. Help me please.

At the least, you need some kind of exception handler. Even the following, which is an absolute minimum, would work:

Keep in mind that using "when others" to handle all errors is bad practice; if you know you're going to see a constraint violation frequently, you should actually code up a handler for that error. And technically, if the error is very frequent, you might want to check to see if the row exists BEFORE you try an insert.

No.
The 5000 is a GSM-only phone (using the "everywhere but the USA" bands 900 and 1800MHz) and there are no GSM providers in Japan. Japan is now 3G only.

Nokia 6120 - Use as a remote/View PC Desktop

For my old nokia I used to be able to access my pc via my mobile and also use it as a remote for windows media player via bluetooth.
Are there any apps I can get for this? I also used to be able to remotly view my pc desktop screen and open up files and folders from my phone. Any idea? Thanks

Is it with Lumia 520 and lower versions or with all the Lumia devices . I can see a App named Webcam Remote which says that we can view the Webcam of the PC on our phone then why is it not visa versa. If it is not possible to use Lumia devices as webcams after Microsoft's claim that it can get synchronized with Windows 8 operation system then Microsoft has to rethink on some basic things required to all users. And why should we complain to Microsoft separately ? is it not a Nokia Device. It should be a concern for the both. I have seen a lot of posts which has not been action from last 2 + years . How do you think that complaining will help. Sorry if the words are sounds are negative as i want these basic things to be in the Lumia phone which would help users like us . Nokia 5000 - How much time keep your battery

Hi, please can you let me know how much time (days of hours) you baterry is workin on. On my Nokia 5000 the baterry work fine for 3 or 4 days, including the stand by tine and talking time. The talking time is not more then 30minutes - 1 hour per day.

Read the manual about battery life. There are many factors that can cause excessive battery drain. Thing such as:
Push for mail. You might want to turn push off and check for manually
You mention you have a WiFi unit. If you leave WiFi on and you're not near a WiFi signal, your unit will constantly check for a WiFi signal
Location Services uses battery power. Check your settings and turn off location for Apps that don't need your location
These are just a few suggestions.
