Nokia 5130 XpressMusic - Configuration, internet c...

Hey there!
I need help with my phone (N5130 XpressMusic). I don't know if it is configured properly cause everytime I try to open Opera Mini, UCWEB, or any other application it says "your phone is not configured properly" or "connection failed" or something like that. Can anyone help me out with this?
I also asked Globe to send me my GPRS settings but the reply went like "your phone is not compatible with the setting". How can I browse the internet with these problems?
PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

Nokia 5130 is a GPRS/EDGE enabled handset so there is no reason that the there not b settings for it. U can try the following link. www.my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=111656
There are many configuration settings available for different countries & operators.
If u still don't find the settings then call the service provider again & lodge a complaint with them in this regard. Most probably the issue will b resolved the moment u mention a complaint.
If even this doesn't work then u'll have to change the operator. But before it do check with if any of ur friends or family having same problem with same operator or try using a sim from diff operator on ur phone.

I recently purchased a Nokia 5130 XpressMusic which was locked to the UK network "Tesco Mobile". I paid Tesco to unlock my phone so I could use my O2 SIM in it. They unlocked it and my O2 SIM works fine (calls, texts) but the mobile internet and MMS doesn't work.
I contacted O2 to send me the settings. They emailed instructions as to what I should do and I followed them, however, the phone still will not connect to the internet.

I also used the service ConfirgureMyPhone, where they text you the required settings. This did not work either. O2 used to send you the settings but it is down at the moment so you have to do it manually.
Can anyone help? I can't understand why it's not working! I have entered the settings exactly as the instructions said but no joy...

I have tried your suggestion, but the problem still persists! Thank you for giving me your help though. It is much appreciated.
I have called both O2 and Tesco Mobile for assistance but neither could come up with a solution. I had the O2 settings sent to my mobile, but they still do not work. This suggests to me that it is a problem with the phone's firmware? As the phone was originally locked to Tesco (and then unlocked) i'm thinking maybe that the Tesco firmware is stopping me from using any other internet/mms settings on the phone.. Anyone have any thoughts on this theory?
O2 said it sounded like the Tesco firmware causing trouble. Tesco said that it wasn't the firmware causing the trouble. They said they had never head of Tesco firmware interfering when a user was trying to use other settings.
I'm still totally stuck! I am going to try ringing Tesco (who I originally bought the mobile from) and see if they'll replace the handset with a factory unlocked one (which doesn't have branded firmware on it) as this handset (unlocked, but still has Tesco branding) is causing me huge stress!!

Please, remove the battery and tell us your product code which is printed on the sticker (seven letters).

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic update problem

hi all please help in a tricky issue , i have an Nokia 5130 XpressMusic and i try to update the software , of course i make a backup for all contact software profile all in the phone but after updating i loose original profile even aplication like calculator them all , egalizator from media .. all , i try to restore my backup but only restored things are my contact..
please help me to reinstal original software

Hi, you will have to visit a Nokia care point with your device and hopefully they will be able to sort out the issues. There isn't really anything we can help you with here other than suggest a consultation at a NCP.
For some other time I suggest you post a better quality picture. I think I can see the two short cuts you refer to, but Its a bit blurry. Looks like the picture has been taken with a calculator or something

Does Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic support wifi?

Please can someone advise me if it is possible to connect my Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic to any standard wifi network? Is extra software needed? What is the procedure to connect? Your thoughts wpould be appreciated.

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic Software Bug

i have here a nokia 5130 XpressMusic whos version is V7.91
[updated just few months ago]
i have 2 problems in this phone just similar to my Nokia 5610 XpressMusic
as i thought maybe a software bug.
OK. my 1st problem is
*1. when you go to messaging>create message>message>TOpressing add)>FAVOURITE
when you save the favourite with 2 contacts and when you press options and delete, it's nothing it will just say favourite's deleted BUT when you save 3 or more contacts in favourite and you press options then delete it will cause a WHITE SCREEN and it will restart but the favourite you have save is not yet deleted , so to avoid that you'll need to mark it one by one and delete it one at a time , but the problem is when you'll delet it one by one by pressing options>then view it will HANG!
[which in my 5610 never hang when you want to delete it one by one if it will cause a white screen (for my 5610 black out) in favourites]
MY QUESTION:
ASIDE to my Nokia 5610 and 5130 XpressMusic who had this problem , is there also a phone which is s40 who has this same problem.
cause i\m still confirming on other s40 phones
such as nokia 5310 XM , Nokia X3 slider , Nokia 5300
cause i knew that there will be other Nokia s40 who has this problem.
*2nd Problem
on the nokia 5130 when you record on voice recorder then played it on the gallery
for example you have save 4 voice records then you played one of the four
then the library will update 0 of 1
here the problem starts for about seconds and minutes the update doesn't move it stucks on 0 of 1 (then i think it has the same problem on my 5610 but on my 5610 it will update if you play MUSICS not records in the gallery then it will update) then i played another record then it updates 0 of 2, 0 of 3 , 0 of 4.
then i intend to play musics in the music player to knew if the update will be gone
then what happen is it kept on adding 0 of 5, 0 of 6 to 0 of 50
there it is stuck!! and the update doesn;t remove it kept adding when you played musics both on music player and gallery
to make it remove you have to restart the phone >___<
is there a new update on this phone?

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic "Contact Service" Error

I used my phone extensively for a little more than a couple of years. Yesterday night the battery died and I connected the charger and started it. I got an error on startup saying "Contact Service".
Any idea what the problem could be and how to resolve it ?
I heard this sort of thing is normally solved by a firmware reflashing. But I need my contacts and calendar. Any way out ?

I already tried the removing battery thing. Didn't work.
Firmware was updated to the latest version only a few months back at service. And this happened all of a sudden. My network bar turned zero when I was travelling and I presumed it was because of bad connectivity. Reached home and connected the charger and restarted the phone. Got the contact service error.
Any idea why this sort of thing happened ?

Helloo,,,a have buy nokia 5130 xpressmusic,,,but when i want to set pasword on keyboard,,a dont know the master/security codee,,a try most them,,the default 12345,,but doesn't work,,i try with unlock master code,,but still doesn't work,,, does everybody have idea how i can find or change the security codee,,pleaseee i neeeddd helpp

If you bought the phone new and the default 12345 does not work, then the security code should be in the papers you received with the phone or maybe printed on the box.
If you bought it second hand then the previous owner should be able to help you.
Otherwise you'll have to take the phone to your nearest Nokia Care Point with proof that you are its owner (invoice in your name with the phone's IMEI number, and photo ID) and they'll be able to reset the security code for you. Do a backup before having this done because it might entail a full reset of the phone, which will erase all your data.
Alternatively, you could attempt a firmware update with Nokia Software Updater. A firmware update often resets the security code back to the factory default (but not on all models).

Hi i hv installed pc suit 7.1... on my lapptop with vista on it, but when i plug in the cellphone it says error in installing some driver. and the phone reads "host not responding".
Please help

im running Vista Ultimate & ive the same driver problem, its detects it but when asking 2unstal the driver it said
"Windows encontered a problem installing the driver software for your device"
knowing that the windows knows that the device is "Nokia 5130 XPressMusic USB Phone parent"
by the way im using the last Nokia Pc Suite version!!

hiya i recently updated my Nokia 5130 over-the-air and had no problems so far. then i have downloaded the latest internet settings fro my phone via my network operator. no problem there. but whenever i surf the net or use 3rd-party chat service the internet shuts down and just stops working? why is this? is there a way to use my internet (to surf or chat) seamlessly? (n.b. i have an unlimited internet option on my network account).

NOKIA 5130 -UNABLE TO CONNECT TO GPRS CONNECTION

I have bought new Nokia 5130 Express Music handset on 26 Dec 2009 and Reliance GSM post paid connection. I have got settings from reliance from GPRS, WAP and MMS setting.
The problem faced is whenever, I connect to opera mini browser, it connecting for 3 minutes and shows failed to connect to the internet. I thought, it is GPRS setting or network problem. But, after lot of enquiry with Reliance, they forwarded the settings.

Port: 8080
Noting works.
Can anyone brief, how to get it right. or shall i have to change the handset.

You have to set up a packet-data (gprs) accesspoint. Contact your service provider or visit their website for the right settings.

Cannot connect my 5130 XpressMusic to my mac

I just got this phone today (5130 XpressMusic), and it says that is is compatible with the Nokia Multimedia Transfer software on Nokia's website, yet when I open the program on my mac and connect my phone, I get a message that says: This device is currently not supported by NMT." What is going on? I am so frustrated I'm about ready to return the phone! Thanks for any help.

SECURITY CODE CHANGED IN NOKIA 5300 XPRESSMUSIC

Hey everybody, this is my damn NOKIA 5300 XpressMusic and dont know who changed the security code.
Now I m getting 1dum tension, please help me.
None of the following gets me off the problem:
I need a security code
to switch off
to switch ON/to enter desktop
to connect to computer via PC
to use bluetooth
in fact without security I can't get anything.
moreover the IMIE number is damn confusing it goes under the battery.
Let me see if this is the real support from whole of the NOKIA company!

You should never post your IMEI number on the internet as criminals can use it for dodgy purposes.
The default security code is 12345, if this has been changed and you have forgotten the code then you will need to visit a nokia care point/service centre.
They will be able to reset the code but you will lose all stored data. They will need to see proof of purchase before performing this procedure to ensure that you are it's rightful owner.
It is not possible to reset it yourself.
