hi all please help in a tricky issue , i have an Nokia 5130 XpressMusic and i try to update the software , of course i make a backup for all contact software profile all in the phone but after updating i loose original profile even aplication like calculator them all , egalizator from media .. all , i try to restore my backup but only restored things are my contact..
 please help me to reinstal original software 

Hi, you will have to visit a Nokia care point with your device and hopefully they will be able to sort out the issues. There isn't really anything we can help you with here other than suggest a consultation at a NCP.
For some other time I suggest you post a better quality picture. I think I can see the two short cuts you refer to, but Its a bit blurry. Looks like the picture has been taken with a calculator or something

    I recently purchased a Nokia 5130 XpressMusic which was locked to the UK network "Tesco Mobile". I paid Tesco to unlock my phone so I could use my O2 SIM in it. They unlocked it and my O2 SIM works fine (calls, texts) but the mobile internet and MMS doesn't work.

    I also used the service ConfirgureMyPhone, where they text you the required settings. This did not work either. O2 used to send you the settings but it is down at the moment so you have to do it manually.
    Can anyone help? I can't understand why it's not working! I have entered the settings exactly as the instructions said but no joy...

    I have called both O2 and Tesco Mobile for assistance but neither could come up with a solution. I had the O2 settings sent to my mobile, but they still do not work. This suggests to me that it is a problem with the phone's firmware? As the phone was originally locked to Tesco (and then unlocked) i'm thinking maybe that the Tesco firmware is stopping me from using any other internet/mms settings on the phone.. Anyone have any thoughts on this theory?
    O2 said it sounded like the Tesco firmware causing trouble. Tesco said that it wasn't the firmware causing the trouble. They said they had never head of Tesco firmware interfering when a user was trying to use other settings.
    I'm still totally stuck! I am going to try ringing Tesco (who I originally bought the mobile from) and see if they'll replace the handset with a factory unlocked one (which doesn't have branded firmware on it) as this handset (unlocked, but still has Tesco branding) is causing me huge stress!!

    As you have stated.. the phone is locked to Orange - UK.. You will be able to update only when Orange - UK will approve of that..Since when are you having this phone ? You may contact the Operator in this regard and point out that its almost 2 years old version.. Good if they agree to do that....

    i have here a nokia 5130 XpressMusic whos version is V7.91
    [updated just few months ago]
    i have 2 problems in this phone just similar to my Nokia 5610 XpressMusic
    as i thought maybe a software bug.
    OK. my 1st problem is
    *1. when you go to messaging>create message>message>TOpressing add)>FAVOURITE
    when you save the favourite with 2 contacts and when you press options and delete, it's nothing it will just say favourite's deleted BUT when you save 3 or more contacts in favourite and you press options then delete it will cause a WHITE SCREEN and it will restart but the favourite you have save is not yet deleted , so to avoid that you'll need to mark it one by one and delete it one at a time , but the problem is when you'll delet it one by one by pressing options>then view it will HANG!
    [which in my 5610 never hang when you want to delete it one by one if it will cause a white screen (for my 5610 black out) in favourites]
    MY QUESTION:
    ASIDE to my Nokia 5610 and 5130 XpressMusic who had this problem , is there also a phone which is s40 who has this same problem.
    cause i\m still confirming on other s40 phones
    such as nokia 5310 XM , Nokia X3 slider , Nokia 5300
    cause i knew that there will be other Nokia s40 who has this problem.
    *2nd Problem
    on the nokia 5130 when you record  on voice recorder then played it on the gallery
    for example you have save 4 voice records then you played one of the four
    then the library will update 0 of 1
    here the problem starts for about seconds and minutes the update doesn't move it stucks on 0 of 1 (then i think it has the same problem on my 5610 but on my 5610 it will update if you play MUSICS not records in the gallery then it will update) then i played another record then it updates 0 of 2, 0 of 3 , 0 of 4.
    then i intend to play musics in the music player to knew if the update will be gone
    then what happen is it kept on adding 0 of 5, 0 of 6 to 0 of 50
    there it is stuck!! and the update doesn;t remove it kept adding when you played musics both on music player and gallery
    to make it remove you have to restart the phone >___<
    is there a new update on this phone?

    I need help with my phone (N5130 XpressMusic). I don't know if it is configured properly cause everytime I try to open Opera Mini, UCWEB, or any other application it says "your phone is not configured properly" or "connection failed" or something like that. Can anyone help me out with this? 
    I also asked Globe to send me my GPRS settings but the reply went like "your phone is not compatible with the setting". How can I browse the internet with these problems?

    Nokia 5130 is a GPRS/EDGE enabled handset so there is no reason that the there not b settings for it. U can try the following link. www.my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=111​656
    There are many configuration settings available for different countries & operators.
    If u still don't find the settings then call the service provider again & lodge a complaint with them in this regard. Most probably the issue will b resolved the moment u mention a complaint.
    If even this doesn't work then u'll have to change the operator. But before it do check with if any of ur friends or family having same problem with same operator or try using a sim from diff operator on ur phone.

    When I connect to a WLAN network it connects but when I start browsing it says: Web: No gateway reply

    You have to tell some more about the settings. Is the SSID visible? Are you using a WPA-PSK key? Is the firmware of your AP up-to-date? Are you using MAC filtering? Try to reset the AP.

  • Nokia 5300 software update problem

    I don't know why, but I decided to updated Nokia 5300 XpressMusic with the latest software from nokia.com.
    I think that this was a mistake,
    because after the update (using nokia pc suite, fully charged bateryy and so on...) things have changed.
    Now, when i use downloaded from internet themes everything is almost okay, but if the top and bottom skin bars are grey for example on phone's desktop they are always blue, with every skin (except installed by default).
    And if I use these new themes the icons are becoming bigged for e second and normal after that (in menu), which makes them ugly
    And another thing, after the software update, when I go to menu and choose a category the icons inside the category are becomming a little bigger than before, which makes them ugly again, cause they are not made so big.

    I've done it myself, and it works. I doubt it's a bug of 3.92 software.
    About the logos getting bigger and smaller, again, that's probably a characteristic of the theme (you have to know that icon images are defined within the theme, it's more than only setting the background). If you don't like the logos, probably the theme is to blame, not v3.92

    Hi, I have Nokia 5610 XM startup problem with memory card.. (I tried with 3 different micro SD card also)

    it sounds like it could be the memory card connectors or something like that if you say that it works fine without the card in, you might want to take it to nokia care point for them to have a look at this issue.

    I've bought this Nokia C5-03 recently and it was working fine till i had updated it,
    but from the time i had updated the software,its become slow and seems to hang up now and
    then, the new update totally slowed down my phone, i've tried reinstalling the software but

    How is possible to make the update, if phone autoamatically downloads from network provider wrong version?
    Nokia 1611, 2210, 3110, 5110, 6210, 6310, 6310i (up to these models totally satisfied)
    Then don't remember model, then E50 (mostly happy), then N97 mini - phone with briliant keyboard, but poor touchscreen, then business phone E07, phone that can not make a photo of contract, invoice or business card. poor design of usb port and 5 months at service did it - my nowadays phone is Apple. Company gave me Asha 300, so frustrating, that I use my old E50 instead...

    Ive been sat here thinking about how the phone works, long story short ive managed to fix the problem by trial and error, i still feel the phone is drawing too much power for some functions to work properley so ive deactivated my keypad tones and BOOM! no more reseting, ive also changed the profile i use as it seemed that the general sound profile caused the resetting, so if your haveing the same problems, as soon as you can press your Power button do so, then change to the silent profile so you can customise a 2nd profile that has the custom settings you desire.
    IF this works for you and you had the same issue with the 06.10 software on the nokia 6280 on the 3 network, please let me know, lol.

  • Nokia 6500S Software Updater - PROBLEM

    I was hoping that someone could give some assistance with a problem that I encountered with my brand-new Nokia 6500s (slider).
    I purchased the item about 3 days ago. It's a beautiful phone with great functionality. But, I noticed that I was having some unexplained delays with SMSs. I would send an SMS and I would receive their responses 2+ hours late from the recipient.
    So, I decided to update the phone's software with my PC using the Nokia Software Updater. I had used it before with my Nokia E70 with great ease.
    I connected the 6500s with my PC via USD and connected with PC Suite and then started up the Nokia Software Updater. The phone had a full battery and the connection to PC Suite was recognized.
    I was updating to 4.84. While updating, the phone's display went blank but the bottons were still illuminated and the update seemed to be proceeding normally. Then, at the 3-minute to completion point, I started hearing those MS XP sounds that indicate a USB device has been plugged in or removed, then the phone appeared to shut off. I thought it strange, then the Nokia Software Updater put up a screen that said "Connection with Phone Lost."
    UGH! I immediately tried to power on the phone, but it seems it's now "dead." I have held the power botton for a long time, but it doesn't do anything.
    Can anyone please let me know what can be done? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    The only way to get your phone working again is to visit a nokia care point/service centre. It will be covered under warranty (unless you have imported it) and they may be to fix it while you wait.

  • Nokia 5800 v40 updating problem!

    So, I used NSU to my update my Nokia 5800 device, the code is on the list and both Ovi suite and NSU detect the new firmware, NSU downloads the update, then when it says " installing update" ( 15 minutes left ) it asks me to revome the USB connection, restart my device and connect it again, I did that, didn't work, removed the memory card and did it agian, didnt work. it showed the same message, so I used Ovi Suite, it did just the same thing, I thought my USB port has a problem, so I put the USB cable in another port ( I think that solved the ' conneciton has been lost with your device problem' but not for long, till I ran into another problem, " Iternal module error" I searchded for it, and this is what I  found /t5/Software-Updates/quot-Internal-module-error-quot-in-NSU-fix-offered-here/td-p/88351;jsessionid=5... I did what's mentioned there, it said "loadlibrary ("regsvr32 C:\WINNT\system32\msxml4.dll") failed - the specified module couldn't be found , any suggestions? Thanks.

    lol, sorry, "replying" for myself here,  the code is "regsvr32 C:\WINNT\system32\msxml4.dll" I use windows xp not NT, so  I changed it to "regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\msxml4.dll" which worked for me, now that my USB connection and Iternal Module problems are solved, I will try installing the new update using Ovi suite again, I will let you know what happens, bare with me
