Nokia 5140i cable conection "mobile phone rejected...

I am trying for some time to connect 5140i to my comp. Finally got Windows to recognize driver and phone. Problem is, although icon says "5140i connected via serial cable", I cannot access the phone. Any attempt to access file manager or contacts via Nokia PC Suite results in message: "mobile phone rejected the operation"
any suggestion would be highly appreciated

can you pls make sure that the phone is set to "General Profile" and make sure you are using a genuine nokia connectivity cable that works for your 5140i...

  • 'The mobile phone rejected the operation' Error - ...

    Hi,
Using E70 via Bluetooth. Everything works for sync etc.
When I click on contacts, it gives me the error 'The mobile phone rejected the operation' and does not allow me to view my contacts.
On occasions it will show the contacts, then something 'hides' them again and will then go back and browse the 'root' directory of the phone.
Im not aware of any security settings or such. At the moment, when I try and do something the phone asks to allow the connection, I do - but still nothing.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

working now - upgraded pc suite again - a few reboots - and sorted. bug in previous pc suite??

  • Nokia 5140i WindowsXP2007 PC suite 3.0 CA-42 cable...

I have a Nokia 5140i and use PC Suite 3.0 without updates on a laptop running 2007 Windows XP with a CA-42 cable connection.
Last nite I was using Nokia PC suite software with a 5140i and was deleting the wall papers that I don’t use. When I executed the deletion of the last wallpaper in the wallpaper folder the software took a long time to process the deletion and so I cancelled the deletion. PC suite then froze and my phone went blank. The phone no longer comes on beyond a few seconds of light in the level at the top left corner when turned on or plugged with a charger.
How do I get the phone to run again?

Have you tried adjusting the Infrared speed to Vishay ?

  • Using nokia mobile phone as a modem problem

I want to link up two computer (running XP) throughh two modems.
First, I set a PC that use 56k dailup modem as become a server (accept incoming connection), then connected by a PC that use nokia 6230 modem as a client and success. The 56k dailup can receive the call automatically and each PC can access the local area network to another.
However, it has a problem when i try to use 56k modem to connect to 6230. it seems 6230 treat the call as a voice call and not answer to it and I must set 6230 as a server in my place.
Then, i replaced the 56k dailup modem by a nokia 6610i and installed the lastest driver. However, the 6610i cannot dailup or receive call from 6230 except a voice call.
Finally, i try to borrow another 6230 from my friend (two 6230) and all works fine.
    My question is:
    1. How can I set 6230 modem as a server to accept connection from 56k dailup modem automatically?
    or
    2. How can I make connection between 6230 and 6610i (they work as modems)?
    or
    3. What fuctions can make 6230 to connect to a 56k modem? (is it fax??coz i want to make sure another model i buy has this function)
    Thanks
    Derek

    Thank you Seraphim.
I think you are right because i just borrowed another 6230i from my friend. Now i have 6230 and 6230i, the ringing tone of the server (receive side) is different to a vice call and the connection between two computers is success.
I'm sorry if I may have made a wrong post here because i still have a problem in configing my 6610i as a modem in my windows. I have tried the "nokia 6610i Cable" and "nokia 6610i Infrared" Modem driver. I cannot dailup a call or receive data call. I saw the 6610i was trying to call out but all the calls returned "Disconnected" and even my home phone cannot be rang.
All of the cases I have tried are (the mobile phone worked as modem):
6230i call to 6230 (result: connection success)
6230 call to 6230i (result: connection success)
6230 call to Voice Phone (result: normal ring)
6610i call to Voice Phone (result: no ring, disconnected)
6610i call to 6230 (result: no ring, disconnected)
6230 call to 6610i (result: no ring, disconnected)
I have tried to set the 6610i in different windows (xp and 2000) but still fail and i also tried to replace the sim. card in 6610i by the one in 6230 but still fail....so the one i could guess is my nokia 6610i modem driver has some problems but i'm using the one that i just download today 26/03/2004, 1.0.2.4.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • My nano SIM works in my Nokia mobile phone but "No SIM" when in my iPad mini

I've been around the support loop a few times with varying levels of success, here is my story.
Basically I expect to only occasionally require mobile data services so would like to move my nano SIM from my Nokia mobile phone to the iPad mini as and when required. I have a 500Mb data allowance on my current contract with Vodafone UK which I never use but would like to access with my iPad mini.
The first time I tried it worked! I never tried to surf using it but it registered with Vodafone UK OK and had a good signal level. The second time “No SIM” or “SIM not installed” popup at bootup.
Now irrespective of contracts, tariffs, data plan etc I expect the iPad mini to recognise there as being a SIM present every time and never give “No SIM” except of course when there isn’t one physically in the thing.
Playing along to support and forum suggestions I’ve done a couple of device resets (software reinstalls) and various setting resets. But still “No SIM”.
I’ve also spoken with Vodafone UK and am investigating whether this is in fact some restriction where they’ve restricted the technology so SIM swapping is not allowed. My Nokia E51 is not locked as have had it years.
I just cannot get past the “No SIM” message though!

Do have the details as to why that is?
The single time it recognised the nano SIM and showed as being connected to Vodafone UK I tried to ring it to see what would happen, it just rang out until voicemail picked up but nothing happened on the iPad mini whatsoever.

  • HT2998 Hi, I try to conect Mac Mini from 2009 with my HD Tv Samsung F 6400 . With Mini Dvi conection and adapter to HDMI input in TV I got picture but not sound! I have analog cable from the phones out from mac but imposible to conect to TV? Can you HLP

Hi, I try to conect Mac Mini from 2009 with my HD Tv Samsung F 6400 . With Mini Dvi conection and adapter to HDMI input in TV I got picture but not sound! I have analog cable from the phones out from mac but imposible to conect to TV? Can you HLP?

You really need a newer Mac Mini with a true HDMI output, because that Mac Mini's DVI output does not support Audio.
You might try a 3.5mm to RCA adapter
from the Mac Mini's headphone jack to the TV's audio input,
but that would require being able to select the Audio input in the TVs menu while using it's HDMI input.
Optionally you could also use an external 2.1 Speaker System or patch the audio from the Mac Mini to your home stereo system to enhance that older Mac Mini's audio.

  • NOKIA mail not working in OUTLOOK and MOBILE PHONE

Webmail is working without problem. It is impossible to create my OVI-account in Outlook or in my NOKIA-phone (E7).
Is there a problem accessing my mails from OUTLOOK or my mobile phones. It's working for another account.  My password is OK (I'm accessing my mails from the webmail).
    Please help me.
    Vincent

Although Internet works, Nokia Mail uses another configuration account. Therefore, please, double-check Nokia » Menu » Configuration » Active. Which network operator do you use, in which country?

  • Is it possible to use a Nokia mobile phone as a modem for my ipad2, which hasn't, got 3G. If so does anybody know how?

Is it possible to use my Nokia X6 mobile phone as a modem for my Ipad2, which is not 3G enabled. If so how?

You need to download something called JoikuSpot from the Nokia Store, they were giving it away free last week. You then follow the instructions to basically set up a little wifi hotspot, look at the settings carefully and create a password to get on it, by default it creates an open network so anyone can use it.

  • Problem connecting k300i mobile phone to computer with dcu-11 cable, driver needed?

Wanting to get the photos and such off my old mobile onto my computer, I bought a dcu-11 usb data cable to connect said Sonry Ericsson k300i mobile phone and do so. However, I've had no luck in getting the connection recognized. The cable fits and everything, but when I put it in no drivers are found (installing the software on the disc provided apparently didn't work in the first place) and under device manager (I have Windows 7 by the way if that makes a difference to everything) it just shows the cable as "unspecified" and is just named "usb cable dcu-11". The automatic search for drivers didn't work either.
After much googling, there seemed to be a solution here http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?k=60242 however, the Sony Ericsson page that was linked no longer exists it seems, so I'm stuck as to what to do now.
I assume it's just that I need the correct driver, I have the Sony Ericsson PC Suite but that also says no phone is connected. I'd appreciate any help with this I can get.
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry for delay replying - bereavement.
I don't have a USB option in Connectivity, it focuses on internet connectivity. I have an infrared option but my PC does not support infrared.
I scoured the internet for a data cable for this particular mobile, it was very hard to come by, managed to get one, it is working, but without the software for this particular mobile I don't think I'm ever going to get these photos off :/

  • Line input in Nokia mobile Phone

    To Anyone in Nokia,
I've been using, actually obsessed with Nokia since 6610 to N70 to N95 to N97 and now I own Nokia's Pride the N8. But annoingly phone after phone nokia hasn't come up with a line in for recording stuff from an external source or from a guitar or keyboard which I think would be very useful and attract a lotta musicians who would like to produce good audio out of their instruments while recording a 720P HD video. Also it would be easy to record from any preamp or other audio equipments directly when data transfer ain't feasible. I myself would expect the audio of my video to have the same sound of my bass guitar. But the recorded audio sounds weird. I request someone to raise this concern and probably come up with using the line out as a line-in  by tweaking the firmware and providing some switching back and forth between a line-in and line-out. Thanks

In the fast paced world, especially for Mobile phone a 4 year period is too long and that may be the reason that the body (spares) are not available at Nokia Care.. Since this is a user-to user forum , I will advise you to use the 'Contact Us' tab at top of this page to contact Nokia.. but I think they will also be not in a position to help.. but no harm trying..
You may also write about the experience you had with the Nokia Care..

iPhone contacts: file transfer to Windows 7 via USB-cable
My iPhone can communicate with the computer only via USB-cable (no mobile data, no bluetooth, no internet, no outlook). As I want to get the phone to the "doctor" I want to save specifically my contact data and calendar details on the computer (OS: Windows 7). How can I solve this task? I will appreciate your valuable information, thanks.

Using the iPhone, the USB cable, iTunes and Windows Contacts, sync the iPhone contacts to Windows Contacts. That will save them there. They are also included in the iPhone backup made in iTunes, and if you use iCloud.
I'm sorry, I missed the calendar part the first time I looked. For calendar, you need a supported application on the computer (Outlook) or if you use iCloud, you can use the iCloud contacts and calendar app to sync.
