  • IPad2 Camera recording video to mp4 or something besides MOV?

Is there a way (or an app) to have my iPad 2 camera recored to e.g. mp4 or somthing other than .MOV?
When sending .MOV to others, the video is a) large file and b) rotated 90 degrees.  Grandparents also don't have a clue how to play .MOV
I can use handbrake (or other tools) to convert to mp4 but haven't yet figured out how to get the video to play upright.  Even when I do, this multi-step process is really keeping us from using the iPad for creating video.
I stopped by the Apple Store and they had no clue what I was asking about, but did at least know what handbrake was (which I found strange.)  When the rep started to use Google to look up what I was asking, I figured I could just do that myself as well as ask here.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

.mov is using mp4 as the video. If you don't like the file size, don't shoot stuff in hi def.
Vlc, QuickTime  play .mov files just fine.

  • How do you switch to front camera while recording video?

I have the iphone 5s and while I'm recording a video, I can't figure out how to switch back and worth between front and back camera. I know how to do it while not recording but I want to switch the camera as it's actually recording, is that possible?

I don't claim to know the details of each one of the hundreds of thousands (or perhaps millions) of apps out there in the App Store.
But I can tell you with all due respect if I were writing software for the iPhone / iPad, I would never consider such a product (that switches cameras while recording), because in my humble opinion, there would be very small if any demand for such a product.

  • TS1702 iPad camera not recording video

Camera on iPad has just decided to stop recording video. It was stuck on 'square' for a while, now it's stuck on photos. Cant get it to record a video at all. Any ideas. It's iPad 2 on latest ios

You are a gentleman and a scholar! It's actually sliding up and down but that works.
    Thank-you very much indeed!!
Why cant apple do something sensible like put an arrow next to the word or say 'slide to choose' (they'd rather charge £25 for the privilege!!)

  • HT1462 CAN I USE THE BUILT IN ISIGHT CAMERA TO RECORD VIDEO?

I recently purchased a new iMac and would like to know.

Apps already on your Mac that can do this:
    • QuickTime Player
    • Photo Booth
    • iMovie
    • iChat
If you need help, launch one of the apps and choose its Help meun item.
Other apps for different video record functions are available by using
your Mac's  > App Store... menu command.

  • Cameras that record video in compatible format?

Photoshop Elements doesn't use .MOV format for video. What digital cameras offer compatible formats? Old Canon did, now no. Panasonic isn't compatible. Instead of trying to convert format, I'd like to get a new camera that uses a compatible format. Thanks

If I have to use a conversion program to incorporate .MOV clips into PSE
slide shows, I'm ready to return the Canon camera I just got and go
with a different camera that I think is just as good, half the price,
and full featured with a touch screen - and also .MOV formated.
I don't think that a different camera with .MOV formatted video will solve your problem.  That is because I believe the problem is that the PSE slide show editor will not accept the .MOV format  in any version of Photoshop Elements.
However, if you wish to post the make and model of the camera that you are considering, I will read information about it.
FYI -- Back as far as PSE 4, I remember trying .mov files in the PSE slide show and having it rejected: so I asked someone else who hen attempted with .mov video from a different camera and also failed.  Very recently I saw a complaint about .mov files not working in the version 9 Elements Organizer Slide Show Editor.
    I wonder -
1 --  What software are you currently using to play these video files on your computer ?
2 --I have seen reports of people having problems importing some H264 video files to the PSE 7 Organizer.  These problems might or might not be relevant for your videos, so I wonder --
Do you currently have these video files imported to the PSE 7 Organizer ?  If yes, do these files play successfully from the thumbnail in the PSE 7 Organizer ? And if you look at the Properties for this video file, what does it show as dimensions - 1280x720 or 640x480 ?

  • TS1702 IPhone5 video camera not recording sound

My new iPhone 5 does not record audio when using the camera to record video. Any suggestion welcome

I have the same problem.  It's intermittent but it doesn't work more than it does work so it would be easy to replicate.  Sometimes audio would record in and out in a single recording, sometimes nothing but hissing/static.  I do not run a cover of any sort, and my fingers are not covering any holes.

  • With OS X Yosemite 10.10.1, cannot record video with the iMac's built-in FaceTime HD camera. Cannot find the "Import" button in the toolbar.

Just updated to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and cannot find the "Import" button in the toolbar to record video on my iMac's Face Time HD built-in camera.  Trying to follow the steps found under "iMovie (2013): Record video with the FaceTime HD camera" on apple support posting but it seems to me that those were posted for another OS version.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello Triunfo,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you are using the current version of iMovie, 10.0.6, you can follow the directions in the help article linked to below to import using the built-in FaceTime HD camera.

  • Can the Camera become a Video Recorder with Firmware?

I'm just curious if that's even possible with a firmware upgrade. It'd be cool if they could release a firmware so you could record video and hence upload it to youtube :P

So no one knows for sure? What's needed for a camera
to record video? I mean, can't the iPhone's CPU
handle the crunch and they possibly just limit to
recording 30 seconds of video or something?
Video means more space needed. I have an 8bg iPhone and its kind of a bummer that I can't upload my whole iTunes music library to my iPhone. My library is about 16bg so I dont have all my songs portable, I have partial.
Maybe its just me but I could care less about video functionality, I would rather have all my music and my videos and some pictures on my phone and I'm satisfied already.
maybe more app update(s) other than that I love my phone

  • Recording Video for Email with Built-In ISight

I am using iMovie HD and the built-in iSight camera to record video messages. While I certainly want the video to be sent with everything in its right place, it would be easier to make the video if during recording the image were a mirror image (as if I were looking in a mirror). This is done for iChat. Can this be done while recording in iMovie?

No; iChat has that facility built in. You see yourself as if in a mirror; the other person sees you as you are.
To do it in iMovie you'd need to record your footage, then apply the 'Mirror' video effect to the clip ..it's under 'Editing', beneath the Clips pane, and then the 'Video F/X' tab.
You'd have to slide the 'Horizontal' slider all the way to the right in order to flip the clip and get a proper mirror image. Rendering may take a while, depending on how long your clip is.
The audio will probably be dreadful, so it's best to Extract the audio from the clip first, before 'Mirror'ing.
But why email a mirror image of yourself? It'd look very odd to the recipient! (..even if it looks OK to you..) ..Whoever receives it - if they know you - will think that something's wrong; your smile will be wrong (tilted the wrong way), any distinguishing marks will look wrong ..it just won't look like you at all!

  • Nokia 515 and Mac

Hi. I just bought a Nokia 515. How do I sync my contacts and calendars with my mac? Not too much point in having a calendar on my phone if it can't sync with my work calendar on my mac.
I don't have exchange but I do have CalDav, if that means anything.
It would suprise me if Nokia didn't have any support for mac, but if I have to run Windows in Parallels I can. However, I can't even seem to find anything for windows anywhere!

We have this product for Nokia 515 and Mac OS X:

  • Program for/how can I Record video from MacBook Pro Retina camera on External HD?

Ive been trying to do this for a long time, and have looked throughout this forum but cant find an answer.  All I want to do is be able to record video from the built in camera to my external harddrive.  Photobooth lets you record it but not to an external HD, and I cant find a way to do it with the new iMovie either.  There has to be a way or a progarm that lets you do something this simple, but I cant find it.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Try this program:www.webcam-recorder.com
